China is at quite an interesting place right now when it comes to motorcycles. On the one hand the motorcycle industry is really booming with all kinds of bikes, all kinds of displacement getting released seemingly every second with really competitive prices and some with properly decent quality and features. On the other hand, motorcyclists in China just don't have the same kind of right of way as 4 wheeled users, with a lot of cities imposing motorcycle bans or limits the usage of large displacement motorcycles (above 300cc), and prohibiting motorcyclist using the motorways and expressways. Car drivers in China in general also have less respect towards motorcycle users, thinking that they belong to the bike lane.

I imagine if these bikes are introduced you will see a huge aftermarket of upgrades to get these bikes up to spec. Manufacturers in China will save money anyway they can, putting my rear end on a Chinese bike for a cross country cruise would be a hard sell.

If its price is much cheaper I'd definitely buy it. As for people saying the goldwings is getting bigger that's bs. The new goldwings suck by my opinion they got smaller and more like a crotch rocket. I'm 6 ft 300 lbs and I ride a Yamaha venture vecause it's one if not the largest bike made currently. Not everyone wants a lightweight turd box. I'm willing to bet it will be a good bike I bought hyosung and though not highest quality they are reliable and quick for their size and easy to work in. I will always buy the larger bikes, cc matters vut like Harley they make bikes that are to short, and small and for larger guys like me they are uncomfortable so if this bike is reasonably priced and has the power to match id definitely give it a go. I'm excited to see it come to the market as many people will buy it regardless of what others say. People were like that decades ago over the Japanese market as well now folks prefer the Japanese market to American market based on quality price and power. Don't knock it till you tried it.

I love my wing but I would try one of these but then I was a marine. At 68 I still look for the edge. I appreciate your comments and letting me know this thing exists, but ride the Damon thing cause your opinion without actually riding it would be like me telling someone how to fly the space shuttle. Have you ridden some of the big wings? Opinion with no experience is just shit

Hmmm... why not, the 2018+ isn't what I see as a Goldwing. Honda could make the flat6 2l and open it up a bit and bring is back to the size of the pre 2018 model with all the new tech.

Can’t say that I am not intrigued. But, if it rides like it sounds it does, it’s not rideable for most people. Goldwings are quite easy to ride for most riders. So not really any competition. The Goldwing got smaller because of amazing technology and intelligent designs.

I had a 2013 Goldwing and the main reason I got rid of it was the insane weight. I never dropped it but everyone else who rode it did. There are probably many owners that haven't had issues with the weight but it's always there, ready to bite you in the ass.
I started looking at the new Goldwing now it's lighter, so for me a heavier Chinesium Goldbling is a definite no.
I have a Chinese bike btw, so I'm not anti Chinese bike.

I just want Japan to make an inline-5 in an affordable quarter-fairing standard sport bike for the street, with minimal tech and minimal expense. Sort of a Z900 with another cylinder and bigger fitting frame. Or a new 5-cylinder Bandit.
This 8-cylinder behemoth is a new means of securing a super-yacht in active waters. It'll grab on to a hunk of coral securely.

Lots of state of the market questions posed by this bike.... essentially, who is it for?
The aging biker population are stepping off ultra classics onto street glides and other baggers. Here in the UK, BSA and RE are pulling folks off their GSs for lighter bikes. So a bigger wing? Seems like a misstep. In many ways I'm surprised not to see a 1000cc mini-wing, or perhaps even Honda seeing a place for a redone ST11/1300 to sit alongside the NT.
But for non-western markets the market growth is away from basic 250cc transport towards a leisure based segment? Great Wall are probably looking to this as an aspiration model like Kia are doing with the Stinger

Here's the rub, Great Wall is a car/truck manufacturer with a lackluster reputation for reliability... even in China. By just jumping into making motorcycles spontaneously, I don't see this reputation getting better.
CFMoto is currently the most reliable, best made Chinese bike on the market. They are making international headway by beating the Japanese bikes in price and getting "close enough" on quality.

Interesting enough, but it looks like there's no Original nor Forward thought here. Looks like they stole ideas from several other motorcycle manufacturers and still came up short. I can ride my Goldwing for several hours and still reach under it to put the cover on and the pipe covers are only warm to the touch, but the exposed exhaust pipes on this thing would not only fry my arms and cover, but the airflow down there would super-heat my boots while riding. Thats not the only flaw either... Just take a good look at the pictures of it. Soooo many flaws in these stolen ideas that had already been addressed by the original designers. So many cracks in the Great Wall process. Still... It's funny that they think they can compete with Honda. It just shows who the Real King of the Tour World is.

If they are putting it into production they must feel like it is ridable.
Being the Chinese it may be a copy of something that is proven to be reliable like they did with the dirt bikes.
Everyone is trying to tear them up, even putting them under water and still they crank up and run. Well them motors are exactly the motors that were on earlier KTM's and had a reputation of being very reliable.
Maybe they did like the chainsaws and copy to the exacting spec's of a Stile chainsaw and they run and last like a stile.
So maybe they stole and copied from the Gold wing to the point that the technology they are using is a proven technology by design already.
This is the Chinese and intellectual property does not mean anything to them and they will reverse engineer in a heartbeat.
As far as big being manageable Boss Hog has proven it to be achievable and handle like a typical motorcycle (somewhat)for a more experienced rider.
So not saying it's right but with there track record of copying with ill regards to any patents or license needed to do so makes me think if it didn't work they wouldn't be producing it.
Mexico is not as picky about that kind of thing as the U.S. is and also they probably are trying to figure out how to get around tariffs and taxes the U.S. may have on China at this time.

I certainly do not need a motorcycle even bigger and heavier than a Gold Wing, but I am very excited that someone is building and selling it. Americans will not like to read that but China is becoming the technological leader the U.S. used to be in the 50s.
