The whole observation here about lalettan is the best I've ever heard..they should not retire from acting but try to exploit themselves more by taking experimental films of the new genre..
I think Mammootty is a far better than Mohanlal in that aspect. Mohanlal is undoubtedly a brilliant actor but he trails behind Mammootty in selecting experimental roles in the new generation films.
Mammotty knows his limitations as an actor more than anyone else and constantly tries to improve it in each new film he does.
Whereas Mohanlal merely uses his already existent star image and satisfies the producer and viewers with that, he is more used as a brand label in each film he acts and thats why the film becomes a hit just because of his screen presence and not because of his variety acting.
Still there are cases where the opposite happens,that is even Mamootty only has screen presence and no acting.
So in this regard both the legends should do more of experimental roles to compete with the actors of the new generation.
