Wedge Anchors use an expansion clip to grip to the walls of embedment holes while the nut is tightened at the top. The collar expands and "wedges" itself against the material wall and shank of the bolt, successfully holding the fixture in place.
I searched for a video that showed how these things work, out of curiosity. And I found exactly what I looked for, short and sweet. Thank you!

My problem was that my masonry pit was the size recommended, but the bolt would not got all the way in.
I had to cut some off the top.
Its impossible to tighten because the bolt inside is moving with the nut

What should be size of drill??? if the foundation/anchoring bolt size is 16 mm ??

You use the same size drill bit as the anchor size

Any suggestions if the hole was drilled too big and the entire screw spins? HELP!
It is critical with these mechanical anchors that holes are drilled to the correct size. So in the case of an oversized hole we would suggest that you select an anchor diameter to match which may be the next size up. You wold also have to check the clearance hole size in your fixture.
I can't understand, the insert is rotating along with the nut and it can't be tightened
What if the slab is less in depth and the bolt goes through it all the way?
Buy a shorter bolt or cut off the top.

Hard to remove because it's meant to be permanent. From what I know, you gotta saw or cut off the exposed portion. Everything else will remain inside.
Thats correct - remove the nut and washer, cut off the exposed portion. If the hole was drilled correctly there should be a small cavity so you could possible hammer down the remain anchor to back fill the hole.
Hello. I accidentally drilled 5 in deep but my bolt only 3 in long will it still work? Bolt size is 3/8. Thank you
Yes, just don't pound it too deep

The deeper, the better, the more secure. You can use the nut and washer to prevent it from falling all the way in. Adjust nut and washer to the depth you want, put it in the hole, and then tighten.
