hey! I just used this in my fishless tank that I'm currently cycling. I don't have a huge tank (110l) and I was recommended a goop of 150l if I wanted to get this cycled for my future Axolot (aim is 4ppm to go down to zero in 24 hour period). I used that but I now have a lot of goop just sitting down at the bottom of my aquarium. Is this normal? I don't want to remove this excess as I'm not sure if it just needs time? Or can I do it later on with water changes? Great video!
Awesome stuff, I was told about this by a Cory breeder, Ive used it on six tanks now, never fails, I tested twice a day for a week each time I used it, perfect! I always get the next size up just in case. Another great vid Ben, spread the word, no more suffering fish!
This looks like a great product. I'm a massive advocate of fishless cycling by dosing ammonia (although I dose to 4ppm). You can then, pretty much, chuck your full stock in straight away.
If you go to the 650 set up and scape video there is a quick example on there. The plan was that If this question became popular I would do another video on how I did it. See what you make of it from the 650 video and let me know!
Hi I tryed cycling my new tank and I'm worried I haven't don't it properly can I drain my water and start again and do what u did . So I got it right you put 0.2ppm of ammonia and then put the goop in your filter is that right?
2ppm of ammonia. It is produced on and can handle up to 4ppm but you wont be throwing 4ppm of of ammonia in the tank when you add fish so just work to 2ppm..... (not 0.2)
@@TANK-TV cool Thankyou. I have a new 1500 litre tank coming end of jan . I run 3 fx6’s and an oase 850 thermo on my present tank. I have two extra fx6’s to add . The 4 filters are fully cycled so would I need to add the ammonia. I will be adding goop to the in cycled filters and add some extra to the other 4 cycled… is that how you would do etc.
@@TANK-TV it will be the case of transferring over from the 400 litre I have the fish in now into the 1500 litre. Would rather put fish in sooner than later as the tank has been delayed by nearly 2 months now so I am eager to get in new tank. Mine is a media wall build so ideally I need to get the build done also before adding fish due to noise and vibrations of tools etc.
Hi, just wanted to ask, when you used Dr Tims Ammonium Chloride what levels of dosage did you use to get 2ppm on your 650?. Not used Dr Tim's and just wanted to pick your brain for my 560lt. Thank you in advance Sal.
@@TANK-TV appreciate your quick response.. I remembered seeing one of your previous videos recommending Dr T's Ammonium so assumed you would use it on this tank. Any advice on dosing to get 2ppm or there abouts would be much appreciated... 👍
Yeah Dr Tim’s if it’s a small tank and all instructions are on the bottle but larger tanks it’s going to cost a bit. If you UK based get on the APC website and get the tub of 99.9% pure ammonium chloride and dose 5mg per little of water… that’s milligrams not grams 😂
@@TANK-TV I'm uk based and will definitely be following your advice.. Really appreciate your time in helping me and without doubt your channel is the most informative on the tube... You just make more sense than anyone else... 👍👍👍
Yeah just apply to the sponges while it’s running and let it filter through. No harm throwing some on the media as well 🤷🏻♂️ Enjoy that new aquarium!!
@@TANK-TV Only think I might over fed as had baby corys in there, I lost loads, my pet shop told me to only feed once a week, i've been keeping tanks for years and still learning.
Question. If you have a brand new tank, with conditioned water. No fish. No ammonia, can you use the goop and it’ll be ready within 24 hours before being able to house a fish?
No, the goop needs Ammonia to feed off otherwise the beneficial bacteria will die polluting the water. Speak to the manufacturer but fish and goop are supposed to be added together ideally, as long as your water is conditioned and stable.
hello, I have recently changed my tank from gravel and artifcical decor to complete planted tank with auqa soil in it. I added 6 drops of dr tims ammonia which is availble in the market to add th amonia source to start fshless cycle. Now, till past 3 days everything was ok like i had ammonia 0.50 ppm nitrite was 0.5pp, and nitrate 20 ppm. Being a fishless cycle i used to add the ammonia , but suddnelt now the ammonia is gone to 0 and nitrite and nitraye are at the highest peak. I did a water change yesterday night and checked the water today morning jsut to c how things are going. But there was not change in the result. I believe my tank cycle has collapsed. what can i do get it back on. PLease advice
This stuff cycles the tank for you so you don't need to fish in cycle. Dose the tank to 2ppm ammonia and then add the Goop, continue to feed the 2ppm ammonia every 24 hours for 4 to 5 days just to strengthen the bacteria and then add fish once ammonia has dropped to 0 after the last ammonia dose. Only reason I say to feed the bacteria for 4/5 days is because there is going to be a period once fish have gone in where the ammonia needs to build up so the bacteria wont have any food source for a week or two unless you stocking silly heavy straight away and feeding heavy.
I am helping someone shes had a rough time so i am helping her shes got a fish coming in few days so getting this in asap and going to dose with prime to keep it detoxified to keep it safe
Amazing stuff! Will have to invest!
Wow
I have had tanks before and always waited and blooded hardy fish
Just set up a new tank and will defo source this right now
Thanks 😊
Great video mate really helped me out! 👍
Great video. Just got back into fishkeeping and bought myself some of this. Looking forward to seeing the results. 👍🏻
How did it go?

Good work Ben, think I may have to get some when I finally sort my tank back out!
Worth it!! 💪🏼
This sounds awesome.
How did you introduce ammonia in the fishless cycle? Mine is current showing 0.2. Do you think that might be ok for the gloop?

Definitely game changing! Nothing deals with 2 to 4ppm of ammonia inside 24 hours!
Plus no need to add chemicals 🤷🏻♂️
Hi and you tell me the process the tank from scratch do you just add the water in tank. And add the nitrico in and test it
I have a 5ft tank how many of them do I need and what other stuff do I need man’s what else do I need to do

This product is, as mentioned a few times an absolute game changer. Ammonia added… cycled next day…. Bosh! 🎉
How long did it take to clear up
Is there a link for the modification you have done on the left hand filter in this video please?

Curious here, I have to start a new tank due to a cracked old tank. Is dr tims best way to get ammonia in tank? Then use goop and introduce fish?

Hi mate, did you notice a lot of white fluff in your tank after putting it in? Looks like it's been snowing in my tank
Hi Ben, what ammonia dose do you use
3.14(mg) pure ammonium chloride (powder form) per litre is what I did to achieve 2ppm
That’s millergram not gram 😂

I didn’t use dr Tim’s, I used pure ammonium chloride due to the volume of the tank and worked out much cheaper

Is Nitrico available in the US?
Uk currently as far as I am aware as it’s produced here in the UK and advised to use within 2 days if delivery.
When can you do a water change after dosing with goop?
Does this stuff compete with seachem prime and stability?
