I struggled with a fish in cycle, (new to tropical) constant water changes so many chemicals, so i bought one of their matured filtered and it worked wonders. I had one small ammonia spike which I treated with one shot of API water essential and its been perfect since. My fish and critters are all happy and had only one casualty which was a small Ramhorn but I'm sure that's due to lack of algae. Thanks Guys for great products and a great attitude to customer service.

Hi sounds like an excellent product, what is the ideal temp range for the bacteria to work efficiently

Thanks for the question. The Bacteria is will work down to approximately 7 degs C but as it gets cooler, its efficiency decreases as you would expect. Optimum is 25 to 30 deg. At 18 degrees, you would need approximately twice as much bacteria as at 26 degrees to break down the same amount of ammonia. Thanks

Looking to get this goop for my new tank, do you literally just empty it into your tank?

Hi, I'm just setting up a new tank and was wondering if I need to add any water conditioner such as seachem prime if I'm going to add nitroco goop?

You just need to de-chlorinate the water and then add goop to the filter.

Sorry for the delay in replying to you. If you are immediately going for a full stocking of the tank then 2 of the 250 litre pouches will be ample. If you are intending to stock slowly and then a single 250 litre pouch will do the job. With the softer water of discus, it is important to keep an eye on the KH and pH as if they deplete then you will destroy your cycle.

Does amonia need to go in first? For fishless aquarium
