Alex, great channel. One almost forgets how miniscule these components are because you make it look so easy. I'm sure that is because of the years of practice you have doing these repairs and building up a knowledge base of likely faults and what to concentrate on without going down rabbit holes! One thing that may be of interest to the viewers is the techniques that Big Boss uses to get into the devices in the first place so that you can get access to the circuit board for repair AND how he puts them back together again "Just like factory". Maybe a couple of videos of that - if Big Boss isn't too camera shy? Once again, great channel, keep up the good work. Alistair
I like it on the end point of the video where you realized you already fixed it and the reaction comes first before the actual reveal. Its so satisfying and heart warming.
I'm glad you film this so people can see what goes into repairing a device. the work you've done is worth good money. whether it took 5 mins or 2 hours, it worth the same.
@@optimizelogicrepair2784 No, he hasn't, because he sold them right away - understandable. I'd love to see some fault detection as well, especially with the macro lens, we'll just have to be patient in the current times. ✌
God bless you Alex. You always bring the best out put. You are a roll model for many in this industry. Not only you do great work but follow great ethics.
another great video alex ..... precise and well executed ....even with the priceless thermal camera .... great to see big boss again i feel sorry for him he looks so lonely...you also look tired alex .... have a rest from these videos when you get home editing these great viseos..im sure everyone can wait a week or so ... so you can recharge yourself ...joe uk
Very Nice fix ones again, i'm sure you would have found it without the thermal camera but it's such a perfect tool for this kind of jobs. Keep up the great video's.
Salam from New Jersey Alex.. my ipad 7th gen is exhibiting same issue after powering off and never coming back or taking charge ... hypothetically if same repair would it be cost effective to repair? Not sure what this repair may cost.. thank you for your time and J.A.K
Very 8nteresting faultfinding! First you identify a problem area with the charger, which seems to check out, then ir camera and an inductor lit up. Inspecting the diode near it showed a short. Then inject voltage at the inductor or diode and another part lights up. One would expect the shorting capacitor to light up too when normally powered, right? Another job well done!
After my ipad went for repair coz it won't power on. I started watching ur videos and became more interested in understanding the reason for device failures. Why do iPads always have some problem or other, mostly power on issues. I am disappointed at motherboard quality. Today the technician called and said the processor had shorted in iPad 6th gen.
Good afternoon, sir. I was wondering if at my cost I could send my iPad 7th GEN 10.5 inch to you and have you do a diagnostic on it. You really seem to know what you’re doing, and I have already tried going to a shop who claimed that it was the motherboard, causing the problems. It has never been dropped and never been in water but a lot of the time what happens is when the screen is on, there will be flickering and then the display will go off, but will still be back and you can still hear the sounds. Is there a way to send you a private message to communicate with you. I’m certainly willing to pay to get it fixed and would love to work with you on that.
So my son iPad randomly stop charging when he woke up. Tried home and power reset with nothing. Plug it in mac and it detects to do an iPad restore but fails. Guessing there no power? Do I trouble shoot: check LCD/back light, Check Battery, and then check for short like you did here? Also iPad 7th gen
You can measure capacitance with most multimeters (cap has to be desoldered). For the voltage, it doesn't really matter if you use one with a higher voltage rating, just shouldn't be lower. Other than that, just get X5R, these are the most commonly used ones.
My kids both iPads got took it to a shop it’s meant to fix them in both said mother boards fked in said they can’t be fixed but u just fixed this one ?
If something is shorted to ground, like the diode, anything connected to it can also be the defective component. He injected voltage to the diode and looked under the thermal cam where a heatspot emerges. This was the area of the three caps. Then he applied iso pronanol onto the caps and injected voltage again, the cap where the alcohol is dried first, is the hottest cap, so at high possibility the defective cap. Nice way to track it down. Without thermal cam you have to test each cap.
Hi, I really like your videos and learned a lot about repairs and highly appreciate your videos. I have an apple Tablet that requires repair for wifi issue ( the chip was removed by some unprofessional technician and have damaged the some of the tracks on the motherboard as well as on wifi chip 😭) and now he broke the display also and replaced with another one but now only half display doesn't work for touch. I finally took back the tablet from him and decided to send it to you as i am confident and sure enough that you can make it up and running for me. I can't mail the device to you from India as it cost me very heavy , so one my friend is visiting USA by mid of March for limited period of time, and I am sending the device with him to you, but I am not sure how he be placed in USA so will you please please please help me and guide me how to reach you there and handover this apple tablet to you. Quick response is very highly appreciated. Thanks
I have a dell g7 17 7790 that charges when it feels like. And turns itself on when it gets power. Whether the lid is up or down. Paid 1800 for it and it broke as soon as the warranty finished. Pos dell

after this video, i cannot imagine just how much waste was thrown away just because of one faulty capacitor. great job
Did big boss said bismillah before plugging in the charger? Very lovely to see you support him so much☺️
Yes he did
I used to come to this channel for the soldering but now I'm here for the fault finding precision.
Same haha
I'm glad you film this so people can see what goes into repairing a device. the work you've done is worth good money. whether it took 5 mins or 2 hours, it worth the same.
I'm taking my (almost) daily dose of happiness from you!
You are my motivation to do SMD repairs♥️
Nicely done Alex. I’d love to see you do a few of these thermal diagnostics using the uni-t camera you sell.
He has done a couple

Hey Alex, could you please halfshort repair video for phones.
God bless you Alex. You always bring the best out put. You are a roll model for many in this industry. Not only you do great work but follow great ethics.
Nice video like always Alix thank for sharing everything with us and make them so simple
Awesome technique with the alcohol. Never thought of that! Thank you.
That thermal cam is magic.

Always good to see Big Boss!
Awesome, I like the use of the isopropyl alcohol as a means of heat detection. Great job.
I'm glad you guys have more space to work

Very nice. I have the same problem on my iPad 7 th. Is it expensive repair to the client? Thanks for the video
Where do you get the replacement capacitor from? I suppose you have a donor board? Or is it known which kind of capacitor is needed?

That cap also had a notch on the bottom left side 👍👍
Hi Alex! Why are you not using the UniT thermal camera anymore? Thought it was better than your old one?
Great job sir
Your thermal camera is a wonderful device
Nice watching your videos

Wow, was just on your channel looking for videos to watch then bam! I got the notification for this 😂

Would it have been possible to use the hot tweezers instead of hot air?
Where is your workshop situated. It's very interesting for me. Is there Turkey?
awesome! PS: possible to have done that repair without a hot air gun but with just a soldering iron?
Yeah, with low melt solder. But hot air is usually way faster and easier.
Big Boss is awesome! ❤️🔥
Great job as usual Alex
The thermal is great troubleshooting tool
alex what so funny the you laugh at the end?
Which coil did you inject the voltage to?
The economics of repair is astonishing. Replace one faulty cap that costs mere fractions of a cent to manufacture vs. building a new device.
NorthridgeFix micro soldering Zoom call COURSES? BE fire to learn how to do this myself from a legend....
I can't stop watching these videos man it's like crack
How do you go about troubleshooting a board that is freezing? What components can cause this problem?
So my son iPad randomly stop charging when he woke up. Tried home and power reset with nothing. Plug it in mac and it detects to do an iPad restore but fails. Guessing there no power?

This probably has been asked a million times before, but how do you determine the replacement cap values?
You can measure capacitance with most multimeters (cap has to be desoldered). For the voltage, it doesn't really matter if you use one with a higher voltage rating, just shouldn't be lower. Other than that, just get X5R, these are the most commonly used ones.
My Ipad died, but I was able to boot it up twice, then it died again. And now it's completely dead, could it be the same problem you just fixed?
Excellent very good work 👍👍
What about hard drive with clicking sound? Is it done ?
Very good. Sir. Thanks
Can I get a link to the full outro tune purrleeeeze ? Asked a few times, all i get are spam replies!
I know the big boss must be busy, but it would be nice to see videos on how to disarm and arm devices. just say!
Great Alex once more
What is the name of the cleaning material?
good job mate.
How much voltage u apply on the coil
My kids both iPads got took it to a shop it’s meant to fix them in both said mother boards fked in said they can’t be fixed but u just fixed this one ?
Very nice video, i love it. Awesome work, good and efficient repair. Thank you for that video. Greets
Nice work.
weldone Alex.
hola estaria muy bueno q hagas alguna reparacion con analisis de schematic desde ya el canal es excelente muy bueno saludos desde argentina
Hi sir...i am your big fan
Hi Engineer. How did you find out that this is a capacitor?
You first had an EC connection.
How did you suspect this area?
If something is shorted to ground, like the diode, anything connected to it can also be the defective component. He injected voltage to the diode and looked under the thermal cam where a heatspot emerges. This was the area of the three caps. Nice way to track it down. Without thermal cam you have to test each cap.
great job
Does anyone know how you choose the proper replacement for a bad capacitor?
You can see immediately that it is a left cap,. it is broken near the solder
how much is that fix
Very nice. Keep it up 👍🏾
Make videos with schematic which can be more to learn
Hiw do you what type of capacitor with specifications should be replaced?
There is no etching on the motherboard for values of notation.
Schematics or just donor board.
Thank you خال
Good Job
Thanks for repeat that problem. Ok
Big boss is the Best
So nice
Awesome job bro keep rocking bro 👍👍👍
nice Vedio ☮️ 👍
Yesterday my ipad 6th gen randomly turns off and won’t turn or what was the problems

How is your backlog going? Did you end up employing anyone?
mi aspettavo un ...ta da!!!! :-))) bravissimo!

Two questions: You always call him "Big Boss"... is he the Boss? Where did you lear 'electronics', self-taught or Uni?
we only wanna see hiroshimas

Can you find the problem to my overheating gaming laptop if so ...send me a number or address!
Those capacitors are garbage! quality from capacitors are down.
i think apple should make contract with u 😜 send to apple for information
