      This is true. I recently fixed a PS5. The most annoying and time consuming part was disassembly and reassembly.

    For whomever is wondering how Alex manages to remove the glare is by using a secondary light at a different angle, so the light won't reflect towards the camera sensor and affect the view. The light he is using is a dual 6 watt (3 watts each)

    • @siontheodorus1501
      @siontheodorus1501 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So it switches from one light to another light? I guess the primary light is placed on top near the microscope and the secondare are place angled. That seems make sense and because it is from a different angle, sometimes the exposure also reduced a little bit.

    • @mohannadsadeddin8201
      @mohannadsadeddin8201 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sion Theodorus Yes exactly, he turns off the primary light which is circular around the microscope lens, and turns on the secondary light that is set at a different angle

    Thanks for telling us the temps you're working with. Even though hot air guns and boards are all different, knowing the range of temperatures for different types of parts is very interesting.

    Due to these videos and equipment purchases, I have already learned to solder smd components quite well. I haven't dared to try that ball solder yet. At least there are a couple of different ways to do that.

    The problem with this model ipad, is that when you try to seal the display back you need to make so much effort because you have the wires of the digitizer and the home button otherwise the screen will not sit on place in the edges 100%.

    ...closing is easy if you remember every detail, if not you´ll have some spare screws after closing it :D

    One gets curious about the cost of repair in certain cases, like with those where people insist to repair old units for other reasons than data recovery. So if you could include the cost, at least in select cases, even when it is a fix or no-fix, it would be nice. Anyway - it is protecting the environment if people really wants to repair and continue using older units instead of buying new ones, even though it might be somewhat costly, but probably still cheaper than buying something new, or?

    I hate that stuff apple uses for underfill. Such a pain to deal with. Reminds me of dealing with potting compounds. Some companies used to cover bare silicon ic's with it to prevent reverse engineering. I imagine some still do.

    Hey Alex, do you have any projects where you repair multiple layer fire damaged PCB(like a hiroshima'd mosfet)? Likely an expensive repair or personal project. There are not many of those types of repairs on TH-cam and would be incredibly valuable.

    I just replaced my iPad 3rd Gen Retina display three years ago only because I had to. With the updates things stopped working on it. I did not want to get another one 😢 I miss my old one. Lol. I do NOT like change. I have the iPad Pro 12.9 1st Gen and the touch is everywhere. It opens things I don’t want
    it to. It’s hard to type a sentence. Example I hit space and instead it hit return and caps locked 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s possessed. I can’t live without it though. I pay my bills and everything on here. I don’t have a phone. I don’t like phones. My old iPad worked great

    I am curious about that black thing on that arm, on the right side of your microscope. What is that? Looks like a "palm"😂 the old electronic device from the mid 2000's i think.
    Thank you for that video, greets

    Polarizing filters cost at least 1 stop of light. Which equals to having to double the ISO or doubling the exposure time or decreasing the aperture by a factor of 1.4
    You never thought about filming big boss doing the disassembling of all the different equipment you receive? Before I buy a laptop, I’ll check on TH-cam how easy it is to disassemble. And if memory and SSD are replaceable or expandable. The documentation isn’t always that clear.
