Jason's calm, systematic and insightful approach is an island of sanity in these days of constant anxiety caused by all the 'bad' news. I'd support the cause but hesitate to use a credit card to do it. Is there an address to send a token of our appreciation?
I'm trying to make this on mac however it says I need a text.ttf font file to properly run. On Sketchucation it says that the file is linked in a zip folder in the documentation. However when I view the documentation I find no such link. I tried googling and viewing other forums and they provided direct links to download the file however whenever I click on the link it is dead and nothing pops up. It appears that whatever file is needed to run the plugin on mac has been taken down. Do you have the file or know where to get it? Plz any help would be appreciated I really want this plugin so I can create skyscrapers with floors!!
When you say "3D printer" - - do you mean EACH of those floors would be made in the 3D printer? Or would the whole object be made as one solid object in the 3D printer?
Ok - thanks. I used this back in shop class - never knew it was called CNC: th-cam.com/video/Onda9jgiyA8/w-d-xo.htmlm18s But - couldn't you do the same thing with light-weigh plastic on a 3D printer?
Roll over Hadid. She (RIP) built these things, made a fad out of it, sold it to half a dozen city councils world wide. Personally I think 'organic' design is what we should be doing, in everything. Too much military-like, data assembly protocols now. Francis Kere is another (living) architect who does this with only the most practical outcomes in mind. Community centers in developing countries where labor and materials are local, he's able to build functioning buildings that rival anything the 1st world has.
Informative video , i wish i would have used this in my architectural thesis project..thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video Justin - - thank you for the in-depth demonstration.

Thanks for the great video
Cool. I see some CNC projects here. Thanks!
thank you so much
I wish i had this tutorial 1 year earlier :/
Thanks btw.
Gourav Dey For sure - glad you liked it!
Are you a member of sketchup-texture group ? A seminar on sketchup will gonna held in Peru, hope you would be interested.

Is there an add on that would extrude steps automatically for you?

3D printing would likely be the whole object. The floors probably make more sense for CNC routing
What is CNC routing?
Generally it's using a machine to cut out pieces of wood based on a computer model

I did the exact procedure to make it solid but still doesn't work on me :(. Why?
I'm getting a pop up like this: "The Selected Object is NOT a 'Manifold' Solid ! "
Can you help me? Thanks!
Well it's not a solid - you need to make it a solid...
