- UPDATED AND BETTER QUALITY VIDEO
This is my 2009 Chevy Impala LT with the 3.5L FF motor with cat back straight pipe exhaust done. It came factory as a single 2.5 inch exhaust setup. Back in 2014, I changed it to a dual setup. I stayed with the 2.5 in piping, but I originally installed dual Flowmaster series 40 mufflers and deleted the resonator. This past summer, the Flowmasters rotted out and I decided to do the cat back straight pipe (alot due to finance reasons. Way cheaper then doing a full new Flowmaster setup).
Best sounding v6 impala I ever heard 👂 fabulous
My shit sounds way better
@@BLACKSTAR00212 video ?
No it doesn’t sound like trash who ever she went to messed over her 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@thez0d14ckilla4 yea, I just listened to it, definitely does not sound better
@@BLACKSTAR00212 no it definitely does not ☠️💯
Sound so good can’t believe it’s a 3.5 🔥👌🏾
Right sounds just right
I ended up doing this to mine but I put a cut out switch before the resonator so I can turn it on and off🤧 thank you so much for posting this video so helpful
My impala sounds better
@@BLACKSTAR00212 yours absolutely does not. Sorry
i swear the impala is the best sounding v6
3.4, 3.5 and 3.9 sound so much better than the newer 3.6 series engines.
As a 3.6 owner this 3.5 sounds heavenly but I didn’t have my resonator cut out so it’s a completely different sound
Bbbbrrrroooo sounds MAF SUBSCRIBED
Niceeeeeee Sound
What size is the pipes and tips? thinking about doing this to mine
Check out my impala setup
Hello fellow Wisconsinite
Hey man I’ve seen this video a couple times now just trying to figure out where’d you get the pipes to convert it to a dual exhaust since mine is also a single?
It wasn't a true dual exhaust it was a y pipe setup. I believe that it was split to the y pipe at the rear axle
@@SPOryda87 how much did it run you to get it converted?
@GilbertErnes originally the conversion to duals was $450 which also originally was with 2 Flowmaster series 40s mufflers and the resonator delete, but after 6 or 7 years, the Flowmasters rotted out so the straight pipe was only $75 more
I know this video is quite old but do you have a link to the system you used? I would love to get this
No system. I had an exhaust shop just remove the resonator and the mufflers and got the tips from Chevy and measured where I wanted the tips to come out at
Purrrrrrrr
So you got it straight piped from the cats, with no muffler right?? Also did it pass smog?
Yea the cat was still there so yea I passed emissions with no issues
@@SPOryda87 alright boss thank you! I got myself a 2010 imapla 3.5 im going to most likely do the same!
Would like to know the set up here exactly what you did love the way it sounds and want to do it to mine.
It was a resonator and muffler delete, and converter into a dual exhaust. It was originally a single exhaust. As long as u have the 3.5L engine, it should sound like this
@@SPOryda87 I have a 3.9. Can mine sound similar ?
Impala police edition
@@Yseakilla yes maybe a little better
Sounds good bruh 💯🫡
Ne vids of straight pipes headers back ....want to actually hear it...gonna get done on my 07 3.9 .
3" ste8 pipes from headers then flowmaster mufflers I recon
I don't own this car anymore. Sent it to auction. Got a 2019 Honda Civic Si sedan now
Is it possible to remove cats, resonator, nd muffler and throw on the straight pipe? Would it still pass smog?
Awesome sound btw🔊
I left the cat on there. Unless u get a tune to remove the CEL, it will stay on and u will not pass emission tests. Thanks. Car is gone now. Will post another video soon for an update on things
Where did you find the SS Wheels? Did you have to offset
No clue. Got them from some guy that was parting out a Monte Carlo SS before they repoed it
Justin Sposito got cha
How can I get mines to sound like this???
Depends on which motor u have. If u have the same 3.5L as I had, then just do a cat back straight pipe. No resonator, no mufflers
I have a Chevy impala 2009 lt what’s the process of getting that done? And about how much?
I just went to an exhaust shop and told them I wanted dual straight pipe from the cat back and I brought them the tips I wanted. It was around 450 bucks
What tips did u use
What brand
@@june5632 its was straight piped so there is no brand. And I used the factory SS tips
So are these flowmaster pipes or stock pipes and just the muffler delete
It was cat back straight pipe. No resonator, no mufflers
@@SPOryda87 yeah I know I'm saying tho are those original pipes and you took the muffler off or did you have to buy them
@@eastsideofdad3136 o gotcha. I had to buy them since I had Flowmasters on before hand and they rotted out
I'm not trying to bug you bro did you buy tips and if so what size. Also i have the same car and motor I'm doing this but I was going to ask should I go get some flowmaster pipes or just have my mufflers took off the pipes on there and resonator
@@eastsideofdad3136 they are the factory OEM Impala SS tips so whatever the specs are. I think 2.5 inches inlet and 3 inches outlet. I did Flowmaste series 40s before but they weren't loud enough for me, but I dealt with them til they rotted then went the straight pipe route. I liked it, but it did get annoying on longer trips tho
OK here's the question I just an had my exhaust done on my 011 impala an it does not sound like that
Depends on what motor size u have. U have the 3.5L or the 3.9L?
Because you have a 3.6VVT dual overhead cam V6.
the V6 for the Impala in the video is a 3.5 pushrod.
Did you just put the exhaust tips under the bumper or did you get a whole new bumper ?
I just put them under the bumper. I didn't want the cut outs
@@SPOryda87 what size tips them is I fw that look
@@greenjay3158 they were 3in tips
@@SPOryda87 where'd you get the exhaust ?
@@Yseakilla it was done at a exhaust shop. It's not a kit or a brand. It was made.
How many cats you got under there
Whatever is factory. I think the 3.5L had 2 but I'm not sure on that. I never messed with them
I have a 3.5 ls and I’m about to do a muffler delete
I did that with my 06 I had and it wasn't loud enough for me lol
Justin Sposito Yea I want it until I can get a catback 2.5 with a y pipe
malcolm17 I found this on Partsgeek
$50 !!
@@maurosaldate7097 found what
So you have no resonator and muffler but still have your cats?
Exactly
@@SPOryda87 I just got a res delete and a flow master 40 series cuz the cops here are crazy about illegal exhausts
@@alex_288 I had the series 40s on there but they rotted out and it was gonna be 300 for two new Flowmasters or just 125 for the straight pipe so I went that route since I planned on getting rid of the car which I did. Got rid of it last March
@@SPOryda87 I wanted to straight pipe it but it’s not worth it since I would be getting a ticket every time I drive somewhere
@@alex_288 cops around here in Wisconsin could give a care less about loud exhausts
how much was all this? and where you get it from.
I had a shop do it. The tips were from Carid.com, and all together I probably paid around 500 bucks. That's all the piping, labor and the tips, and the few times it had to be adjusted (hangers breaking, welds rotting, etc....)
Justin Sposito from like 1-10, how loud would you rate yo car cause i’m tryna get the same.
@@rsfzo I would say a 7 or 8
Justin Sposito aw dam😂. i didn’t wanna have some to wake neighbors up. you think this the best sound here or you know more ?
Justin Sposito cause i recently just got a cold air intake and a kn air filter for my car, now i just wanna change the sound, but don’t know shit for a v6 lmao
I got a 3.5L 2011 impala. I'm doing this
Did you ever do it?
@@jacobedwards4777 Not yet. Waiting on the money first
@@danielvolz606 how about now?
U do it?
Problem is the V6 sounds good on a low rpm rev 3000 to 4000, under heavy acceleration they all sound like tin cans..
Yup, and that's another reason I got rid of the POS car lol
Sounds like the 3800 series v6
so it sounds like every other straight piped pushrod v6 lol
Is this a 3.5 L
Yes
Oh wow nice sound bruh ..go to my channel I also get work dont to my car ..I had done flow masters..then cat back straight pipe then cherrybomb ..I have 2007 impala
All that carbon u need let that car breathe
Chevy traverse
Sounds like a 5.3 v8 lol
Let me buy your car !!!!!!!
Sorry buddy, it already gone lol. Got rid of it back in March. It's either auctioned off or in a junkyard somewhere by now
@@SPOryda87 damn that's wild how much you sell it for or did you have car issues brother
@@dallaslee5195 the car started to have a lot of issues. Traded it in and only got 2k for it
It’s the SS😂
I wish it was when I had it lol
Gotta be a ss
I wish it was. Just a simple 3.5L V6
