Most electrical fires are caused by loose connections going sparky and creates electrical resistance and so heat. This can nowdays be protected by AFDD, a unit you can install in series with your breaker (or unit with overcurrent breaker included). That detects interups in current (arcing gives a lot of harmonics) and cut power before the fire starts.

A similar incident took place in mom's room a minute ago . Luckily , there was no fire . Just a minor short circuit .
