It's called pyrolysis, the paper isn't on fire. The heat in the room is so intense it forces vapor out of the paper and ignites that. Clever stuff that fire :)
I love this old videos, far better than the modern ones you get, and still completely relevant
Scary how fast it spreads
Dylan Ⓥ well the truth is pretty much > get out and don't look back.
I KEEP A CLOSE EYE OUT FOR FIRE
Those rolls of paper in the corner actually took longer to burn than I expected
NOTICE!!! When the first firefighter started applying water high up at the flames and smoke, the fire just continued unabated. When water was trained on the burning material, the flames went out Instantly.
If this video doesn't scare a person into taking fire safety seriously then nothing will. Incidentally, another thing that would help in this type of situation would be a fire suppression system such as a sprinkler system. A working sprinkler system would for the most part saved that office.
That void area above the ceiling is a perfect tunnel for the heat to radiate to other parts of the structure... so a small fire even if brought under control by the fire personal coula have started another fire somewhere else in the building and can go unnoticed for a long time.
Vintage production! These days there would be a few lines about a VPN provider and a reminder to smash the like button and don't forget to subscribe! ;)
This is why NOT to leave your Samsung Galaxy S4 on charge unattended.
That didn't spread as fast as I thought it might, and the fire rolled over but the room never really flashed. I wonder if having one side completely open allowed the heat and gasses to escape and limited the thermal input on the rest of the room.
Мисля пожар се предизвиква от безотговорно несериозно отношение на охраната - пожар. Пожар толкова бързо се разраства, че е трудно да се гаси.... Благодаря, интересно, поучително видео!
i think this would be a better example if you did not have an openning feeding the fire as it travelled over the ceiling and fed the fire , now i could be wrong yet thank you for the information
@Haim Azulay, It's not the ceiling itself. it's the hot gasses in the smoke that are flammable (Flash over)
@saltburnsurfer Oh my. And I also wonder what ignite the fire behind the papers. Maybe a short circuit...
I’ve just been doing fire warden training and they used this video. Very educational, but there’s a niggling thought in my brain. I recognise the narrator, but cannot for the life of me find his name 😱 This is gonna bug me all day!!!
Wow really relaxing ASMR atmosphere video ☺️ keep up the good work.
we need these in 4k for 2021
I like the bit with the fire.
I would have expected the fire to be a lot faster, considering there is usually a big amount of paper in an office.
Yes, this is the nature of fire.
The Smoke is on FIRE!
Because smoke is unburned gases, meaning it could catch fire at the right temp. this can also cause a backdraft, say that this office was poorly ventilated with all doors and windows shut, When the fire started it would burn until oxygen became limited then you will get heavy Blackish/yellow smoke and if you was on the other side of that office in the hall or something, you would see blackish/yellow smoke puffing from the cracks of the door and it will literally look like the room is breathing it will poof it in and out in a breathing motion...then when someone opens the door to investigate BOOM backdraft...all of the Smoke and unburned gases will ignite violently because the oxygen going into the room feeding the fire. -Andrew Thomas-Manchester fire department-auxiliary firefighter
+lilaj34siren So, should I put some masking tape on the cracks to suffocate the fire?
Love it! Amazing video! Can't wait to watch what else you guys come out with.
Fires can destroy a home and lives. They can cause massive amounts of destruction and kill people who are caught by either the flames or the smoke. If you survive such a horrible thing, you are likely to go through the stress and pain of rebuilding. It is especially difficult if you lost someone close to you. To avoid all of this, you need something that works. You need to fireproof your home with available coatings that are safe as well as effective. This will give you the chance to lower the risk as fire and contain any that do occur. With how dangerous fires can be, there is no reason not to do this.
A fire retardant spray or paint will help to protect your home quite a bit. These will reduce the risk of a spreading fire, allowing you to escape and control the flames. If something does happen, like if there is a sudden fire in a single room, there will be less of a chance of it spreading. You will be more likely to survive the fire as well as stop it before it caused any major destruction. These are effective options and they can give you the chance to save yourself in many ways.
2:25 *comes back into office to grab car keys* "A fire? Looks like I'll need this." *picks L up off of desk*
ryan started the fire
This is interesting, but surely it can only be so realistic without a 4th wall? Such a fire in a fully enclosed space would have quite a different outcome I suspect - and with heat bouncing and radiating off the missing 4th wall, I think flashover would occur much more quickly than is seen here.
tjf4375 i thought the missing wall would make the fire burn more quickly because it allows vast quantities of oxygen in
Well, I think that would depend on how much oxygen was available in the room to start with, but either way, this is not a realistic test without a 4th wall.
tjf4375 But the thing is... it's not a realistic video, because most office buildings now have built in fire things, that would put out the fire. I still think the coolest one is a CO2 because it deprives the fire of one thing, O2.
No, breaking the 4th wall is something completely different - that means when an actor talks directly to camera (which is normally where the 4th wall would be) while they are filming on set. What I'm saying is that they needed to build a 4th wall here, because they are demonstrating something whose behaviour would be affected by the radiant heat reflected by it.
Consider the use of sprinklers as well so if a fire occurs it cant get as big as the video shows.
While the room itself could be made with concrete, the furniture cannot. Humans normally do not want to sit on naked concrete all day while working. Furthermore, most offices have lots of paper lying around.
What is the temperature of the radiant heat 6' away from the rooms exit door at the floor level where a victim might be? If the room was hit by a Heavy SPRAY of water through a window and instantly soaked all the interior material, what would be the temperature at the floor in the hallway? What would be the radiant heat temperature from the "Steam" created by the large amount of water, at the floor? How long would a flame be "Pushed" through the door by the spray before the flame was extinguished by the large amount of water? The answers will go a long way towards deciding which is better, waiting an eternity for firemen to find the victim while the fire rages and the effect on the victim if the room is hit by a large blast of water before the rescue.
player18792 If the colleges are going to make policy, they had better know what works and what doesn't.
Looked liked something out of 1984
RIP Mr.plant He was a great plant before he melted
that fire looks dangerous
+William Seward It is dangerous. It's fire.
A big fire. Big fire = Big smoke. Big smoke & fire = Big danger.
That was the slowest fire progression I have ever seen in my life. You would even not bother calling the fire dept. until you finish up your work.
Serhan Ogan YOU SAID IT!...I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THINKING THAT!
@@leroyallen3383 Obviously both of you have never been in a burning building
I put the blame on one Dwight Schrute
i just noticed the firefighter "courage" motovational poster there on the wall
Whats the name of the guy who is speaking?
Isnt that the same guy from big bigger biggest?
Poor computer and the boombox 😢😢😢
my office room!
"No, no, no, Bob. The credits are boring. You need to incorporate something... Well, fire-related."
"How about LIGHTENING?!"
So _that's_ where I put my mix tape.
I have about $20,000 worth of apple products in my office. If my office burned down.......
Coley Sheats take it💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💼💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵
I have two dollars worth of apple (slices) in my lunch. Take that.
Coley Sheats that’s was too less buy better thing btw we know you use Samsung billy 🤮
It was a nice office
Good thing nobody was in there.
Dramatic, but im not convinced to its realism due to lack of the 4th wall. Would affect the air currents and supply, as they actually mentioned.
Only you can prevent office fires...
Oh my
makes a case for sprinklers and early detection
Wow.
one of the best videos ever
Where do you get a job doing this???
So what kind of work are you looking for? I want to light things on fire!
Efe: Elmir. Küçük araba çizsene. Küçük araba.
Efe: Elmir. Küçük araba çizsene.
My friend dog watching this he very interested in fire safely
GRAB THE COMPUTER!!
Just a normal day at the office
Its scary to watch😣
What if you have a plastic bag and breath into it. That'll protect you from the smoke for a while innit?
I like this vidio
smoke detectors, sprinklers? That's gotta be hot!!! Kinda funny, the warnings are basically don't be stupid.
Anyone 2019
It's problably becuase of the heat from the smoke. The smokes temperature is very high.
Simple, if you listen to what the voice over man actually said, he said at this time they would have gone off, which says they have none. Its a demo anyway.
bluecylinder Not with the ongoing hours people are made to work nowadays so that the company can keep raking in profit especially at offices employers do not care about the home life of thier employees or certain hours of the day anymore they care about as much profit as possible everyday!
Stay and work or get fired!
That's my stapler. I brought that stapler. It's my own stapler....
@ChocolateCake207 oh nevermind but that one is old
I think it's an abandoned office.
my mom told me one of three people she works with her name Is d her house burned down just today it scared me
I'm gonna try this out and see if its true...
"Do not TRY this in your office". How very British.
damm, my jacket!
The smoke detector alarm will sound, alerting security
I think it means the office on fire not your office fire
5 minutes is how long it takes to burn your boss's office...
relaxing 😑
If it was where i work they'd get pissed if you left your desk before the end of the day.
You sawer it right hear
What are examples of this occurring?I know one is careless smoking.
why didnt the smoke alrms go off haha??
fire office
OMG
WHY don't they build offices with stronger materials, e.gr. Concrete
It just takes 3-4 minutes u never know
ibm ps2 computer on the desk!
who would ever want to try this in their office? it would be extremely stupid and dangerous to do so.
Even up to 3:00 it could have been extinguished with a few foam and water extinguishers
At 3:00 , just discharge the extinguisher on the base of the burning objects. One by one each flame should stop. However, 4:08 starts a flash over where even the rolls of paper caught fire.
THEY SAID THAT IV THE VIDEO
He sounds exactly like the guy from Emergency 3...
good thing I'm doing firefighting in Public Safety.
This made me scared 😨😱😱😨
It need better video works, because it seems to show less of the starting source of the fire!!! :(
Some precautions that can be taken: If you see a mysterious flickering orange light behind the coat rack, do not ignore it.
Grab the marshmallows and settle in for the evening!
@keshalashay You clearly love your job and co-workers dearly. My hat's off to you.
0:03 obviously we can't guarantee a fire is going to happen
I don't get the connection
