      I hope daisy died knowing she had a happy healthy life with a great friend/human/owner and hopefully she only died of old age.

    For people saying about rabbits outside/hutches.
    Hutches are all good and well but you need to supervise them and take them in at night if you leave them out late in the summer, I also strongly recommend that you don’t use these as a permanent space for your bunny and their main living area should be indoors.
    Never I repeat NEVER leave your bunny overnight, who knows what’s out there, a fox could come along and eat your rabbit whole.
    I also don’t recommend pet store hutches, the wood just rots away and gets moldy.
    I have a custom made 6 foot by 8 foot cage which is great when the weather is dry.
    My grandad put roofing felt on it because the people who made it used normal wood and it got moldy so we removed that and re did the roof.
    So yeah, hutches are fine but always think before you get one, I’ve got a video up on the hutch if anyone’s interested.

    • @kamzalot3
      @kamzalot3 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I live in the suburbs and I'm not that close to I guess u could call in country side😂, but would u still recommend that a rabbit stays inside.
      I feel like getting my rabbit a hutch and I don't feel like ever letting her live outside. But just incase would u recommend it even if there aren't any foxes, weasels, etc

    • @millie5715
      @millie5715 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perfectly fine having a rabbit outside as long as it has enough space and is predator proof. But 99% of store bought ones aren't big enough nor safe enough. I will be making a DIY hutch that's massive and predator safe.

  • @emmythebun

    My bunny currently has a diy cage that's 8 sq ft with 2 sq ft being her litter. That's the biggest cage I had room for previously but my room was bunny proofed so she could come out and play. Now I moved and my room technically is in the basement so it's not safe for her to come out so I just bought more cage wire and I'm going to be building a 24 sq ft cage with lots of large doors so I'm able to open it up and step in to sit with her. I know she's going to appreciate it a lot. Poor baby has been through a lot because of the unexpected move and everything and I can't wait to make it up to her.

    • @Kaizaification
      @Kaizaification 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      but why why would you have it live in a cage tho?
      you could just use a play pen or bunny proof the place that you live in.

      @n1xeo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Kaizaification 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@n1xeo In that very unfortunate case maybe the best idea is to not get a bunny in the first case, however if you are to move out soon so you can give the bunny all the space that it needs. I should have cleared that up earlier, sorry for any misunderstanding.

It's better to have your rabbit on a year routine like bring them in in winter and out in spring. That's what I do with my other rabbit. But in your case you can get a heating pad or something like that. Just advise. Since I am a kid I would probably want to sneak her inside🐰 but my rabbit that's inside is in our basement where it's still warm. 😄

    I have a big cage and a hutch and my bunnies are extremely safe as there is and pen out side so we decide when they come out. during the day we open the door for them to come out and the can come in and out when ever they want but at night we close the door as foxes pass our garden all the time ( also the hutch is only when its summer and on concreet) we bring our bunnies in the cage (inside the house) when its winter but during the summer we leave them in the hutch ;)

    I strongly recommend using a playpen instead that is around 3ft or taller and if you can keep it inside and possibly transition to Free roam

    My rabbit lives in a large wire bottom cage because he has problems so our vet told us to use one BUT he also has part of his cage covered in fleece AND he has a HUGE run so that he always has tons of space where he can get off of the wire

    We have a bunny room, we have two rabbits and two guinea pigs, they get along really well but to keep every bunny safe we need to keep it very clean and sanitary which is a full time job. Unfortunately we have yet to spade or neuter our rabbits and as they are opposite genders they switch running around every couple of hours. The guinea pigs are out 24/7 unless we vacuum then they have a small store bought cage for temporary usage. 😁 thanks for reading this !

    this is very untrue. as a bunny owner hunches are not supposed to be used on a bunny BECAUSE they are way to small and aanything can flip the huches over. a shed is very bad also!

    I have a two story cage from the pet store for my rabbit and he absolutely loves it. It is the biggest one he adores running up and down the steps 😀

    I have the hutch you used as an example with the weasel but it is on wood so my rabbits are safe, luckily!

    If u want an open bottom hutch, add stones around the hutch so the weasel cant get in

    I keep my rabbits outdoor in an 9×9 fenced area where it's surrounded by concrete so they can't dig out but can still make their burrows 😊 Keeps them cool/warm in different seasons and they have a lot of room to run around.

    What if you have a dog kennel-like cage? There is abt enough floor space for him to lay on because his litter box is kind of big. I let him go anywhere in my room in the morning for abt an hour and when I get home from school, I pretty much let him stay out until 12:40 p.m. I also do not know what type of toys are bunnies favorites but. You or someone could tel me that would be great :)

    If you do have a cage with a wire bottom i suggest that you put a small carpet or a blanket down for your rabbit.

    We have a hutch outside but we added wire bottom with rubber mats on the bottom and an extra big spot to run on the side

    I breed and show lionhead rabbits, they have wire bottom cages inside for extreme weather (we are in Texas so it’s a million degrees half the year) as well as wire bottom cages outside that I built. They do great in them. Wire bottoms are not bad cages depending on the rabbits breed.

    I have an outdoor hutch in my garden the bottom part is 3 ft by 6 ft and the little indoor part is 3 ft by 3 ft. We have it in a fenced in yard, and the open bottom part has that fake grass stuff and their little box. They have food and water dishes on both the top and bottom floor.

    I saw so many cages online that were absolutely horrid. they were advertised as rabbit cages but there wasn't much space, some even have wire bottoms.
