I laughed seeing the gauge hood wanting to yeet itself into your face every time you accelerate. Much like my old hood, the clips left the chat long ago.
Sure my paint is crap and I have some road rash but you can't see all the hard work and tuning I've done underneath. If your miata doesn't have any blemishes you aren't driving it! I'm still upset some vagrants cut my top and trashed my interior.
Honestly, just seeing old Miatas on the road all these years later still being enjoyed is enough for me. I've tried in vain to keep my 91 pristine and while it's really good compared to most, time and miles will inevitably accumulate battle scars.@@toadbroz30
I'd like to see the red car get some much needed cosmetic upgrades next, Greg has focused solely on making it fast and functional which is sick but with this setup pretty well sorted maybe a fresh re-spray/wrap and some replacement interior parts would be nice. She's earned it 🙏 all that aside, another great video Greg!

Great video. The ls swap is a cool thing in itself but the good 'ol boosted vvt you built is designed for that car V8 makes the car a little front heavy I imagine. Your car is tuned is crisply tuned weight is properly distributed and the drag tires grip. with 375+ hp over stock, she scoots . We appreciate your videos and sharing your knowledge and desire to be all you can be
My dream swap for my miata is still a K20. Keeps the feel of a miata while making tons more naturally aspirated HP. Bulletproof Honda engine capable of much more with built parts or turbo. Most importantly, still keeps that 50/50 weight unlike the LS. I can't argue with the sound of an LS, though. The kid in me wants the LS, but the adult in me knows the K20 is the better fit.
Looks like you need a line lo k and more of those rpm thingies on your burnout. Second coolest Miata I've seen. The guy who threw a Miata body on his hellcat engine is my favorite.
Idk the setup on that Supra but it aint it, that much lag for 800hp, all while falling off at high rpm, it's like worst of both world, with that much lag you'd expect a top end that's outta this world.
To be fair I'm not sure if that's even their best dyno run or their "final" tune, it's just what I was able to source from their channel. Their setup may be more optimized by now but it's certainly a good demonstration of why turbo selection for your application is so important. Makes a great drag car but probably not so hot for street use haha
@@TheCarPassionChannel Yeah it's very possible that flattening up top is it spinning on the dyno. But still it seems like it has too big of a turbo, and possibly not hot enough cams if that flat on the top of the rev range is real.
I love seeing the NA beating V8s and in my opinion its a bigger victory than the other way around. cant wait to get my 1.9L Miata running and the turbo dialed in... not looking for 500hp but 300hp would put a big smile on my face. Miata Dad FTW!
I went through four separate bp4w builds, including one very high power 3076R build, and now I've got the UZ I'm kicking myself I didn't do it earlier. Still love the bp's. But that low end torque is so good.

Was ready by November for my b-day to plunge on a K24 now I might just do a CA legal LS3 E-rod. Ughhh the supporting mods will suck tho, headers, trans, diff, subframe sigh... It'll be worth it though!

The 2JZ and the LS are iconic engines in their 6 and 8 cylinder categories so you should be proud of that result man. In fairness you should be running a K20/K24 turbo set up to represent the best 4 cylinder engine to make things fair.
That supra's suspension looks like its under a heavy squat when its stationary! Is it actually bottoming out on launch? Looks jank to me but I only have a street supra so I may be missing something xD

I don't think so man, there's only so much power you can shove into a Miata before it's not really a street car anymore, I really think 400-500 is the limit, and even at 500 it's tough making any use of it at reasonable speeds. I do think a mean n/a LS Miata would be sick though.

I've been thinking someday I'd like to rocketeer swap and eventually turbo, which has the potential for a lot of horsepower, and your response would help me figure some things out and maybe plan a little better. Appreciate you as always!
@@TheIrizarr A couple things to keep in mind - a 2600hp Viper is still making less than 4x the factory power, a 500hp Miata is making about 5x the factory power. Also, those cars can fit a ridiculously big tire under the fender. And anytime they're actually using 2600hp, they're likely on a race tire, on a racetrack. Or a race tire on the street, haha. When my car is on the drag radials like in this video, it can put down 500hp in 2nd gear, which means it could probably put down 600 in 3rd and 700 in 4th? Even more if I went to a bigger tire. But I'm talking about practical street use, like when I run on the AR1, a (sticky) street legal tire. It struggles to put down over 450 in 3rd, so if my car was 600+ but I could never use it, I don't really consider that "practical". And I'd need a bigger turbo, which means any time I'm not making 600hp, I'm dealing with lag that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Idk if all that makes sense, but when I say "street car" I'm basically talking about that balance between usable power, traction, etc. Of course I *could* street drive my car if it was 700whp, but not without dealing with the aforementioned compromises

The answers would lie somewhere in the Miata track scene, if anywhere, but I don't know if anyone definitively knows and it would be interesting to find out.

They’re closer than you think. Especially with a turbo/ intercooler and piping on there.
@mcfero1 your probably right. Manifolds and turbos can add some extra heft on that little motor, along with the IC and pipes
