I have been Protestant for 53 years. I started researching Catholicism about 3 weeks before I turned 54. Made the decision and attended my first mass the first Saturday evening in December of 2022. I’m coming into the church on Easter Vigil 2024.

I am not Catholic. I was raised Protestant. I have never understood why Mary is totally ignored by Protestants, yet Mary herself stated in the Magnificat that "all generations shall call me blessed." But Protestants don't call her blessed. They ignore her, even though she is humanity's example of perfect obedience to God.

Many Exorcists in the Catholic Church report that Satan and the demons view Mary as their most arch enemy. If Satan hates Mary it’s not a surprise that Protestants don’t venerate her the way the Catholic Church does - the Catholic Church is the Church Jesus gave us. With all the fullness of his Mother Mary the Mother of God. The Mother of the Church ⛪️ ❤

I am a Catholic from Dublin Ireland, I was a cradle Catholic for a long time, I am a trad cath now, a protestant friend of mine has always tried to convert me, and I found myself not being able to back up my faith, so I had to take a deep dive into Catholic apologetics, fathers of the church and bible Scripture, I started looking at protestant convert to Catholic videos and that is why I am here now... I must have watched a hundred different videos so far, looking to pick up the knowledge on how others converted, always looking for the common denominators, from something that just started out as research has now made me find a deep love for my faith, God sure does work in mysterious ways!!!
Maybe it's me that has to help convert my friend!!

If it was just the Eucharist, I could easily be Catholic, but everything else sounds so alien - confessing to a priest instead of going straight to Jesus,; the pope; praying to dead people and asking them to pray for us (Jesus is our only mediator); and of course the whole Mary thing. Surely Jesus would have said if she was divine and could save us and answer our prayers? God can hear billions of prayers at the same time. No human being can.

@@rosemarybaxter9120 Thanks for sharing, Rosemary. Yes - everything you mentioned sounds alien to many people, especially so far removed from historical, comprehensive Christianity. You should explore the early Church, as millions of Protestants have done as they investigate their objections. Go to Catholic sources if you want to understand the true teachings of the Church. I can assure you your objections and misconceptions are common and there are beautiful, logical answers to each one. I will pray for you. You are certainly not alone in your thinking, but I would encourage you to not let a lack of understanding keep you from pursuing Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. I love how God finds you and takes you to where you belong. Evangelicals do an excellent job of reaching unchurched people that would not walk through the doors of a mainstream church. Ultimately they may crave the traditions and history of a mainline denomination, Protestant or Catholic. I have been raised Methodist, but I attended Catholic school grades 6-12, I loved it so much I sent my sons k-12. Yup. I left the Roman Catholic Church when I was about 18. Came to truly know the Lord Jesus Christ and began to study God's Word for the first time in my life. Something that my Roman Catholic family, relatives and friends almost never did, still don't, and suffer for it.
Am now 70. I love the Lord Jesus so much. And his Word. So blessed.
Forgot to mention that I was in a deep dark depression way back then. That ugly thing left me when I came to faith in Jesus, and can never come back.
Praise God forevermore, and his Son.
One other thing. Jesus never said to pray to his mother not to anyone other than the Father. Listen to his own words:
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

@46:45 This woman met Mary, and knew her voice?
What kind of nonsense is this?
Mary was the mother of Jesus, NOT God. If Mary was celibate her entire life so was JOSEPH.
She had other children besides Jesus:
    MARK 6:1-4
And he went out from thence, *and came into his own country;* and his disciples follow him. 2And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands? *3Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary,* the *brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon?* and are not *his sisters* here with us? And they were offended at him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his *own country,* and among *his own kin, and in his own house.*
    MATTHEW 12:46-50
While he yet talked to the people, behold, his *mother and his brethren* stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47Then one said unto him, Behold, *thy mother and thy brethren* stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48But he answered and said unto him that told him, *Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?* 49And he stretched forth his hand toward his *disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.*
    LUKE 2:22-24
And when the days of *her purification* according to the *law of Moses* were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; 23(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) 24And to *offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.*
    LEVITICUS 12:2-4
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a *man child:* then *she shall be unclean seven days;* according to the days of the separation for *her infirmity shall she be unclean.* 3And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. 4And she shall then continue *in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.*
Mary was not sinless, as she brought a sacrifice to the temple. ALL women were unclean after giving birth according to Leviticus 12 and were not allowed to enter the sanctuary.
Jesus also CORRECTED His mother at age 12 for calling Joseph His father, after they had been searching for Him for three days:
    LUKE 2:
48And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? *behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.*
49And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? *wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?*
Oops. Mary seems to have lost her temper.
This woman claims that the "teachings she did not understand, she SUDDENLY understood. She did not have to figure it out intellectually, but the "holy spirit" gave her understanding.
    What sayeth the scriptures?
    2 TIMOTHY 2:15
*Study* to shew thyself approved unto *God,* a workman that *needeth not to be ashamed,* *rightly dividing the word of truth.*
    ROMANS 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
    ROMANS 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
    The scripture tells you to:
    1. STUDY
    2. to show yourself approved to GOD (not the "church fathers", magisterium, popes, RCIA, bishops, dogma, etc.)
    3. So you will not be ASHAMED.
    4. Study by rightly dividing scripture. A covenant is not a testament, Christians are NOT "spiritual Jews", the kingdom is yet future, and Paul's epistles are doctrine for us today as Jesus' earthly ministry was to the Jew under the Law (Matt 10:5-8) and the heresy of transubstantiation is NOT supported by scripture.

There's no such thing as a bible believing Roman Catholic. There's partially bible believing Roman Catholics and Roman Catholics who don't know enough of the Bible to leave Roman Catholicism. Papal infalibility and succession , worship (or "veneration"as they like to call it) of Mary and saints, their position as intermediaries between us and God, purgatory, Jesus' continuous and ongoing sacrifice on mass, transubstatiation, salvation based on faith and works, and many other teachings and doctrines that are founded on tradition and totally extra biblical and contrary to Scripture. Catholic Recon, Jesus didn’t ascribe a church; or tradition. In-fact, he apposed both.
Catholic Defender, your miss guided in my elevated attitude of myself. It takes a lot of work for me to study; which I won’t elaborate on.
My knowledge comes from many-many decades of researching; the inconvenient history.
I started this many years ago, to better defend my Roman Catholic Faith, at the time.
In my very painful disappointment, and after much heartache, I slipped off the side of my bed and asked Jesus-Christ to save my sinful-self.
This act alone kicked me out of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC), and was barred from communion in the RCC. Which was right for the RCC to do to me.
Why? Because the RCC demands this.
How do you say? Because, one who accepts Jesus -Christ alone as their Savior is anathema; in the eyes of the RCC: per-tradition (works salvation).
Research “ANATHEMA” in the RCC Catechism.
If you want to discuss the “FACT” the RCC was created in the 4th century, not by Jesus through Peter, we can.
People are mesmerized with the fact the Pope (Pontifex Maximus-or-Bridge: Bridge of Babylonian Occults religions) keeps bring in (accepting) antichrist beliefs; when this is the literal foundation of the RCC.
You might want to research the inconvenient information the RCC doesn’t tell you, before you respond back with your opinion.
So, no, I’m not full of myself; at least not in this sense, I have been humbled pretty hard, when it comes to my RCC past.
However, There is no end to the pride and arrogance in me. Trust me, in the last month and a half; I have quite a prove track record; of a sinful nature.
Everyone is ok with God pruning… “THE OTHER PERSON”.
Although, I am great full in the end.
(Am I the only person alive who goes kicking and screaming into God’s blessing?LOL)
Why do I talk so openly? Because I do believe Roman Catholics Are (or can be a saved person) save Christian (Saints), just not by the RCC’s “Traditions-of-Works”.

Wanted to also say, and didn’t.
If a person “BELIEVES IN THEIR HEATS” and “ CONFESSES WITH THEIR MOTH” “JESUS IS” “LORD” “THEY” “”WILL”” “BE SAVED” (be a Saint) (period). And, only God knows the heart.

      To Catholic ReCon
      Hi again,
I'm a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith. Our pastor today talked about opening our hearts to the power of God's love. I'm reading these comments, and I just want to say you are going to tire yourself out for nothing. Some people are so unhappy and angry, it's impossible to have a conversation with them, because they don't listen, just spew out hatred. It's not Christian to behave that way. Christianity -- Catholic Christianity -- is about love. Love is patient, love is kind, as St. Paul said. I pray for these people every day. They don't talk about loving Jesus, only about hating the Church He founded.

      Isn’t that sweet.
You should look up the definition of passive aggression. Because you nailed it.
      Tony Robins would be proud.
Jesus is all about your definition of Love… really.
Maybe you should do research what Jesus meant: when he defined the Scribes and Pharisees as vipers, and the seed of Satan.
Then do a study in you catechism on anathema: if you trust Christ-Jesus as your loan Savior; you are anathema.
Maybe you should read Paul a little closer.
Tough love is still Love. And the only thing offensive in what I wrote, was the truth. There was no hate on my part, intended or otherwise.

Funny how catholic beliefs are unbiblical. Jesus is my shepherd and my only gateway to the father not a priest and you won’t dare catch me praying to someone other than God. In fact one of my first times visiting a Catholic Church out of country you could feel the evil presence around the place. I hope you people truly love the truth and God enough that he will set you free from Catholicism. I’ve heard of a many Catholics leaving to the truth after God opened their eyes to the insanity of praying to saints and treating leaders like they are Christ himself. Sorry but no thanks. I’ve been radically freed by Christ from issues i had and i would have to turn to Satan to pray to saints, the absolute insanity that is. Jesus is the only way and he is the only one who is sacrificed for my sake and the only one ever to be in human form that shall be worshipped and prayed to. No hate for anyone, i just love you enough to tell the truth.

@@CatholicReCon i don’t care about denominations and i think God can save people despite ignorance of what they say they support denominationally. The issue is the denominational belief that makes it not Christianity. Christianity is not about Mary it’s about Jesus and what he did and who he is that makes him worthy, start worshiping saints and or praying to anyone except God and you’ve joined a cult. There should be no denominations at all only the Church. But there being denominations makes it easy to address the unbiblical beliefs that are unfounded.

@@blu2697 I just finished an essay about this. When divisions grow exponentially, proponents of launching their own churches (if even in their heads) are forced to embrace Branch theory and an invisible body of believers--even though their beliefs are wildly different and cannot witness to unity or singularity.
You'd do well to research what Catholics actually believe. You're causing harm by saying we worship anyone other than the Triune God.
Also, please look into apostolic succession. Praying you'll include Catholic sources in your research and listen to some of the countless Catholic testimonies, many of which begin with thinking such as yours.

The idea of transubstantiation is false. The apostles did not eat Jesus' flesh or drink His blood, and the "mass" does not change a wafer and wine into blood, anymore that a man can say he has a uterus.
EXODUS 12:3-8 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 4And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 5Your *lamb shall be without blemish,* a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: *and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.* 7And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 8And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
The Jews were commanded to keep the Passover. Every Jewish family that kept the law would have a lamb as laid out in Exodus 12.
LUKE 22:12-20 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. 13And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. 14And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. 15And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 16For I say unto you, *I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.* 17And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: 18For I say unto you, *I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.* 19And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
The Apostles and the Lord had no lamb, and they prepared no lamb. Jesus did NOT eat the Passover(bread) (v. 15) nor drink of the cup (v.18). The did not strike the blood of a lamb on the two side posts or the upper door post of their door of the upper room.
LUKE 23:1-25 And the whole multitude of them arose, and led him unto Pilate. 2And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ a King. 3And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it. 4Then said *Pilate* to the chief priests and to the people, *I find no fault in this man.* 5And they were the more fierce, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching throughout all Jewry, beginning from Galilee to this place. 6When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilaean. 7And as soon as he knew that he belonged unto Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem at that time. 8And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. 9Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing. 10And the chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. 11And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate. 12And the same day Pilate and Herod were made friends together: for before they were at enmity between themselves. *13And Pilate,* when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people, 14Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, *I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him:* *15No, nor yet Herod:* for I sent you to him; and, lo, *nothing worthy of death is done unto him.* 16I will therefore chastise him, and release him. 17(For of necessity he must release one unto them at the feast.) 18And they cried out all at once, saying, Away with this man, and release unto us Barabbas: 19(Who for a certain sedition made in the city, and for murder, was cast into prison.) 20Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them. 21But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. 22And he said unto them the third time, *Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him:* I will therefore chastise him, and let him go. 23And they were instant with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed. 24And Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they required. 25And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they had desired; but he delivered Jesus to their will.
Jesus was declared innocent THREE times by Pilate, and by Herod as well. The Passover Lamb was crucified the next day. (the preparation day)
JOHN 19:14 And it was the *preparation of the passover,* and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King! 15But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar. 16Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified.
Here the Lamb has been examined and found without blemish. The Passover was fulfilled not at the Last Supper but the next day with the crucifixion of our Lord. The striking of blood on the two side posts and the upper door post is symbolized by the Hebrew letter tav, ת or the Greek tau t. The cross was a t. The ת is the same letter written in blood; first across the upper post and down the right side, then down the left side.
The disciples did NOT eat and drink Jesus blood as that would be cannibalism. The JEWS would understand the PASSOVER LAMB and how Jesus death on the cross, was their passover, NOT the Last Supper.
    HEBREWS 9:24-27
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: *25Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;* 26For then must *he often have suffered since the foundation of the world:* but now *once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.* 27And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: *28So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;* and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
In Hebrews, Paul is CRYSTAL clear that the sacrifice of the Lord at Calvary was ONCE, YET the "church that jesus founded" sacrifices Him over and over each Sunday.
Studying the bible is a "stumbling block," and an impediment to faith, so this woman just trusted a false religion with made up traditions because she is spiritually lazy.
You catholic teachers, priests and "apologists" will give an account.

So where was your faith tradition at the compilation and preservation of the bible? modern man, coming 1600yrs later, all on your own in wat 30-60yrs only of an earthly life, knows the FULL TRUTH of the 2000yrs of Christianity? How logical and reasonable is that.
