One thing that strikes me about so many convert stories is the amount of research that they put in before converting. I am a convert from bible churches. I felt led by the Holy Spirit to attend mass. I felt the real presence there and that was enough for me I went to RCIA, absorbed the churches teachings and submitted myself to the church's authority. 7 years in and i do stidy a lot. But for me, just knowing that when i step into a Catholic church, i WILL meet Jesus there was enough. Being led by the holy spirit is enough of a basis for conversion.
That's beautiful❣️ I hope even more could have that experience of just "knowing". What a gift💝 I'm glad you shared this story. It's proof that we all need to keep inviting others to Mass. We need to get them in front of our Lord in the Eucharist and tabernacle. 💕💞

What's really impressive to me is how Mr. Broussard's parents, were not religious to the point of not even having any respect for religious people yet. Kenny is drawn to the lord at a very young age and spends all of his young adulthood seeking the truth. We didn't really hear how his parents reacted when he became a pastor, but I can only imagine. What for? The Eucharist is the culmination. What is the altar call supposed to do? I would be wary of Protestant influence. Speaking as a convert from Protestantism, by the way.

REALLY a good question about altar calls, Eddie. Opened up the most insightful part of the conversation. Would never have thought to ask anything like that.
Our God is awesome🙏🙏🙏 What a blessed faith journey! Thank you for making me see a fact that God’s real foot prints go all over revolving around and pursuing everyone! Although some people "reported in Catholic Church" late, the roads they and their family have walked together all the way to God is really enviable!
I find it interesting, hearing now, many people, having "some" Catholic roots, even withered and dried up, end up returning to the Catholic faith. Ive heard this too many times now. Could, the Holy Spirit in the Catholic faith, have some incredible power through the generations? It makes me wonder! God Bless you Kenny, for returning home to your "DNA" Catholic Church!
Exceptional, echoes so much of my personal journey - the charismatic journey, the zeal for God, the church splits, the question of authority, solo scriptura etc. Thank you brother Kenny for sharing. I'm now more convinced than ever. Can't wait to start RCIA and mostly partake of the Eucharist. 🙌

A beautiful newsletter from the Coming Home Network was what kick-started my own journey home to the Catholic Church. Interestingly (or perhaps miraculously), it was my 87yo charismatic, evangelical, nondenominational mom who handed me the newsletter that she had received in the mail. She thought I might be interested. Little did she know...😂 My family is going to start OCIA classes at our local parish this fall. Thank you, thank you for all you are doing! It is bearing fruit!!
I should also mention that the church we are leaving is associated with Foursquare in some way - it's a non-denominational (which is its own denomination, lol) Fellowship church plant out of California. The pastor also had a church in Utah. He has a very similar story to yours, even the same areas of the US.
The Church Fathers would not call Protestants Christians, so why are we still calling Protestants Christians? "But what is also to the point, let us note that the very tradition, teaching and faith of the Catholic Church from the beginning, which the Lord gave, was preached by the Apostles, and was preserved by the Fathers. On this was the Church founded; and if anyone departs from this, he neither is nor any longer ought to be called a Christian" -St. Athanasius (296 A.D.-373 A.D.)
It’s funny Protestants like to say that catholics are not Christians. Go w the early church fathers. The hierarchy since the early 50’s has introduced many changes and heresies. The modernists/freemasons effected a coup in 1958. ( See isocdotws , look for the white smoke audio file) The goal of free masonry was to destroy the church. Indeed today it is a different religion. Remember that popes cannot contradict prior pope’s teaching in faith and morals. This is due to the principles of infallibility and indefectibility. Read encyclicals and bulls from popes prior to the mid 50’s. Pius v, IX,x,xi,XII and Léo 13 to start. Fr mawdsley has some good videos on tradition you may find interesting. Some of the big heresies are ecumenism, religious liberty, Jews not needing to convert, salvation outside the church, etc.

That’s all the nonCatholic preachers have, time stamp 20:00 “is sprinkling antiCatholicism in their sermons and his teachings and his preaching.” They walk with Judas.
What is really strange about “altar calls” is that in those churches, they don’t have an altar! An altar is where Sacrifice is offered, and in Christianity, it refers to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Protestants don’t have a priesthood, therefore, even if they have a table in their church, it isn’t an altar. Hebrews 13:10 says, “We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.” Those who served the tabernacle were the Levitical priests, who are excluded from the priesthood of the New Covenant. It’s clear both from the altar of sacrifice in the OT, and from Hebrews 13:10, “no right to eat,” that what was sacrificed on the altar in the Church in the earliest times was edible. That is, the Eucharist. So I’m wondering where do Protestants, or whoever invented “altar calls,” get the idea there is even an altar in their church to be called to?
