Thank you for the review. It is hard to find reviews for this HP Envy AMD Ryzen 5. You covered topics very important for us to know that others have not mentioned. You are very professional too... NO annoying editing, NO annoying music, NO annoying sarcastic comments/behavior. I only wish you said more... If the Display shakes while typing in Laptop mode, etc. STILL , Great job. Thank you !!!
The new model which I have is the 2019/20 is different in a few ways it does come with a pen and it has a new design for the cooling and other subtle touches it is a fantastic computer though
Thank you for this review I've been looking for a more inexpensive laptop for illustrating, and I am definitely add this to my list of possibly candidates.
Pretty good camera work and montage. My eyes is pleased :) Happy to see progress of that kind. Laptop is good also, for painting and stuff. Thanks for review.
I got one and threw an m.2 SSD in it and reinstalled windows - 5-6 seconds to boot now. The mechanical hard drive drags this powerhouse down. Now it screams... BTW theres magnets on the side for the pen and everyone keeps missing this. The bamboo ink DOES stick to it.
Pretty much the exact laptop I need. One with a decent CPU, just enough graphics power for CAD software without breaking the bank, a numpad (thank god), and without an incredibly corny design like most gaming laptops lol. Thanks for the review.
@@OWNORDISOWN "Big ugly stickers" ..... ??? ... Do you leave the plastic on your displays too? Take the stickers off w a hair dryer/heat .. Clean residue w rubbing Alcohol. Done.
lol, that's what I thought when I was pealing off that rubber strip. They obviously don't want you to get in. The screw holes were covered in a tamper proof film as well.
Instances where manufacturers use amd ryzen instead of just Intel is just beginning. I just hope better builds come out. The price of AMD should also be cheaper to be considered an alternative.
Alright, this review swayed me. My current hp is going on 3 years old and it worked just fine through high school for the price my parent's got it at (I think around 250?), but now that I am in college I need something a bit better, especially since my hp's performance has dropped off considerably through the years despite my best efforts to keep it chugging along for as long as I can. I was concerned because basically, everyone recommended the 5t over the 5z and because I am a huge tech dumbass I don't really understand what that entails and whether or not I (again, being a tech dumbass) will actually notice any of the shortcomings of the 5z compared to the 5t and quite frankly, the 5z is pushing my budget as is. However, your review really calmed my nerves over this--it seems like this laptop will work nicely for my needs which are, for the most part, using Word, playing Stardew and the Sims, Musescore, and Autodesk Sketchbook. At any rate, I'm guessing the i5 and 8GB RAM (which is what I can afford) will be a noticeable difference over my current i3 and 4GB RAM laptop. Hopefully, it'll do just fine. Excellent review, thank you so much!
"Color accuracy" you present is actually color gamut - the range of a given color space the screen is able to reproduce. Color accuracy can be fixed by calibrating the display, while color gamut cannot really be adjusted.
This is an amazing review Buyers beware I order this laptop from HP directly those little weasels and thieves force me to receive the laptop even after I cancel that one day after I order it, they said they couldn't cancel the custom build orders the one that does is forces you to pay 15% restock fee when you get it. I will never buy another HP product again besides on this model on their website there's hundreds of people saying the computer overheats and my brother who's a computer engineer told me the motherboard is junk after a year from the overheating
This was extremely helpful! I'm buying a new laptop for my 15 year old for school (& gaming, of course!) & was quite intimidated. I'm FAR from tech savvy- some smartphones are "smarter" than me! I just took advantage of HP's back to school sale & got this model with SSD & free shipping for $640. Watching this reassured me about my purchase. I REALLY appreciate your thorough video & your lovely accent was a nice bonus! Thanks again, 1980's Mom from USA
Thanks Rebecca ! Glad it helped you. I just gave this laptop to my wife and she loves it. It is probably the most affordable 2-1 with pen support out there. Thanks for watching !
I want to get this laptop for graphic design and digital art, but I'm most worried about its colour capabililties when it comes to graphic design. It's a really horrible experience to deal with screens that really really don't do colours justice and end up looking different when printed. Depending on the colours you're doing and how delicate the palette your working with is, you WILL notice these subtle differences when you print and spend hours reprinting trying to reprint out the colour you want by changing it digitally and guessing what it will translate to. I was just wondering if any graphic designers struggle with the colours at all? Is it adequate, without comparing: do the colours look fairly vibrant? Do things print out as closely as the digital versions? - obviously you can hardly ever get something 100% the same as on screen. Any advice would be helpful
You make a very good point and I don't think this panel is for you really. I have the XPS 15 2-1 and that 1080p is OK, I am sure the 4k one is better though. I reviewed it here: th-cam.com/video/Qix2ECfueoM/w-d-xo.html Or perhaps the Yoga 720/730 ?
Penelope Pegg get lenovo 730 with gtx 1050... it has very accurate color,1080p 15” beautiful screen, n u gonna need the gpu!! most dont come with gpu, its the best laptop in a decades!!
Great review! Thanks. Is it compatible with the Adonit ink stylus? It is rechargeable, while the Bamboo uses an AAAA battery, which I find inconvenient.
Hi! Just wondering what’s the best 2-in-1 laptop that could support gaming (Dota 2 specifically) under 1,100 us dollars? Would love to hear back from you!
OWNorDisown many thanks! I saw that it has the Radeon Vega Graphics card. Thoughts on the Acer Nitro Spin 5? I’m also keeping an eye on Lenovo Yoga 720 but It’s sold-out in the Market and I can’t find it anywhere. I’m a university student who wants to game (Dota2 specifically) that’s why I’m looking for a 2-in-1 for my note taking at lectures. And yes Surface Book 2 is my first option but it’s just expensive 😂 Thanks a lot for replying didn’t actually expected you would reply this quick hands down!
@@Domrealmusic No problem. The Yoga 720 outperforms the spin 5: th-cam.com/video/PJOQ9L_qKX8/w-d-xo.html and the Vega M out performs the GTX 1050 in the Yoga 720: th-cam.com/video/Qix2ECfueoM/w-d-xo.html
The brightness, color accuracy and battery life are concerning for me. I’m thinking about getting one of these because I was told that the Envy was up to par to a premium laptop but with more ports. If they haven’t ungraded the nits, RGB and battery life by now, I’m going to be very disappointed.
Theres been updates that fixed the cpu right? I heard about a recent adm ryzen mobile cpu major update that fixed it and made it better. Im considering a Hp envy x360 15-bq213cl and want to know if it is much better than the one you reviewed as this is almost years old. I like the design, ive done my research and the graphics is good enough for me, but i need to know if the cpu is better now and if the screen isnt that reflective that itll be hard to see in a classroom, please reply asap cause i might get it soon.
Thank you for the video! I'm planning on buying a laptop with an aim that it will last me a good 4-5 years and will not lag. Majority of my usage is of the office tools, video and audio and notes. Can you tell me which one I should go for between this and the surface laptop i5 128 GB?
I think storage is often overlooked , that 128 GB is going to end up with about 90GB of free space, of which they recommend leaving 15% free so you will have less than 80GB at the end. Slap on a game and its gone. You probably have a micro SD slot on the surface but they aren't as durable. If portability is the key thing then the surface is the way to go though, not that the HP is super heavy, its just much bigger - OK for writing notes on a desk but no so much on your lap. Since you plan on keeping it a while I think the storage issue would be my main driver.
i have the exact same model, and although i have to admit is very fast and responsive, for some reason once a week the computer freezes in random times, the screen goes black and it forces a reboot on itself, after that everything is back to normal i have tried literally everything....any ideas?
I would systematically check stuff like a) thermals - is it shutting down due to heat - open up and repaste, b) is windows corrupt? - I would back up my files and reset to factory settings, c) Is a stick of RAM bad? Try one stick of RAM, try swapping it into another DIMM slot to rule out a bad slot
@@OWNORDISOWN no thermal issue, also i have formated the windows and did a clean install many times. also i've run memtest64 from a usb stick for 4 hours straight , no issues found. it seems weird to me that i cant provoke the freezing-black screen on purpose, it does it on random times and random intervals. i suspect it could be the graphics card drivers or something....
No thunderbolt port deal breaker!!, actually hp canada mention this laptop with vega m graphics which is slightly better than gtx 1050 and hp US mention vega 8 on their website can you clear the confusion does the canadian version does have better graphics capability ?
I use handbrake daily and corel videostudio on my Ryzen 5 2500u laptop and I get better results for some reason than you did. I wonder what the difference is. I am getting about 49 + or - mins on an mp4 4 gig encode. Now I do have a M.2, but I don't think it would make that big of a difference. I wonder if all Ryzen mobile cpus are all created equal?
Really extensive review, helped me out as I want to buy one of these. But still a few things unclear. I would mostly run some Rhinoceros/Archicad/etc. basic tasks, photo editing. I´m not sure wheter is this sufficient for power (no proffesional use intendet, I´m starting college as industrail designer so I just need it to get the job done) and if the touchscreen would work good for sketching in those programs. Do you guys think it´s a good idea?
Thanks, glad you liked it ! The touch screen and pen use is very good . My only concern is the video memory. Archicad needs 1000 MB and the a2500u will use system memory - that is OK in games though so you probably will be OK.
You are welcome ! Let us know how you make out . Make sure to get one with an SSD in already as it is pain having to peel off those rubber feet to get inside..
@Tortyotto Now I have mine for seven months. In general, for me the 15nc is great. Gets done everything I need with ease, even running Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesgin simutaneusly is possible, while using all three, not just booting up.(still about 1GB RAM free). Built quality is awesome, keyboard is also joy to use, screen even though not that bright with a tiny bit of backlight bleeding is nice to look at too. The 360 hinge is great too, I´m so used to it now, that I cannot imagine having a notebook that cant fold. It´s obvious why, but it would have been cool, if I could flip the unit to just keyboard and it would let me use it. Now the OS automatically switches the keyboard off and turns into tablet even if I say it not to. Main grief remains AMD and Windows OS as many times I experience random shoots up in temperatures even up to 85 degreees even when just running Groove Music for example (no, not a virus, I checked) and sometimes OS just doesn´t like tablet mode. It flips the UI but screen wont respond to touch. This is now very rare but it used to happen quite a lot. Plus thanks to awesome job that AMD did I had mine for about a month in service, becuase the GPU drivers basically killed the GPU. I would recomend this notebook to anyone with similar needs to mine but please, skip AMD version. I don´t have any experiences with this unit with Intel, but I´m led to believe that it would be so much more pleasant (no need to worry about updates, no heat issues, runs cooler and quieter + better battery time). Overall not disapointed, with updates still getting better. Thank you for helping me out on this one again.
Thanks for this review. I'm considering getting this. My version has a 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD. So i'm hoping my load times won't be like yours, like you said yours only had the 1tb? I'll let you know!
The SSD makes a big difference. However Win10 and HP stuff don't leave much room. You might try the 512G instead. That's if you have other stuff on your boot.
How good exactly is the response when using the pen? I consider this laptop for my studies and would use it to write along during lectures so it needs to be really good.
OWNorDISOWN Tech Decisions Made Easy good to know, thank you. I'm currently looking at the lenovo yoga 720 13 inch with the 8250u, basically because i figured 15 inch is too large for my usecase - any thoughts on that one?
Jack Wiedemann I have the 15" one and that was very responsive with no missed pen strokes. I imagine the 13" to be similar and from reviews I have read it seems to be a solid choice 😀
Hey Jack, I thi9nk the Yoga 720 13" will be a great choice, reasonably priced, thunderbolt 3, not heavy and by all accounts doesn't get hot. I have the 15" and the pen works great. Battery life on the 13" is supposed to be OK too - around the 7 hour mark I think.
I have watched your review of the spin 5 and I have decided to buy one of these ( Acer spin 5 & Hp envy 360 ). According to your experience, Which one do you recommend for me, Sir? Note: HP envy is Intel model here with 128SDD & 1TB HDD and 4G 150mx GPU.
Ibrahim eltabay I think the HP Envy would be my choice unless gaming at 1080p is important. The mx150 is good at 720p medium settings whilst the same is true for the gtx 1050 at 1080p, even get some high settings. If I recall the panel quality and battery life weren't so good on the spin 5 and those should be better on the HP...
OWNorDisown I bought it yesterday and I very satisfie with it. But I want to ask about the price it costs me 900$ Intel i7 8Gen 1TB+ 128SSD 12GB RAM and 4GB 150MX GPU. Is it a good price or it's a little bit high? And one more thing I want to know if u got serial number for Windows? Because the seller said it has no serial number but he back it up on a flash memory? Thanks in advance 🙂
Ibrahim eltabay that seems a reasonable price for an mx150 one. You should have a windows licence code. Is it not shown when you click on properties of This PC?
We still have the HP and its still doing well. I preferred the Lenovo Yoga 720 more than both - now its the 730 I think ? Still, the Envy is a good machine for its price. My wife uses it and she is well known for not taking care of laptops ...
OWNorDisown Lenovo doesn’t have a number pad on it so that’s out I’m afraid. I really had narrowed it down between 15.6 Spin 5 and HP x360. Sounds like you prefer the HP though so maybe there’s my answer :)
@@JohnBrown-pl4je yes, I was a little disappointed with the Spin's performance I guess. It had a GTX 1050 but was way behind the yoga 720 I recall and the x360 was cheaper.
Hey, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be purchasing a gaming/game development laptop in the near future. What I'm wondering is if a gtx 1060 will become obsolete in the near future, making a gtx 1070 the ideal choice, or if a gtx 1060 would be ok. I have a budget of around $1500 to $2000. I was hoping you could help me out. Thanks
Hey James, I think I would opt for the GTX 1070 if you can. I've reviewed the MSI GP72MVR and that can be had for about $1500 , also the Gigabyte P57x v7 is $1800. Alienware has the 15" and 17" both in your budget - they have a 10% off coupon usually too. Good luck !
Thanks for the advice. I think I'll have to get the gigabyte aero 15x even though it's a little over my budget. The thing is that I really need the portability and battery life due to being a student. Thanks a lot!
Your wish seemingly came true (almost, it's an Inspiron rather than XPS), I've just ordered one of these: www.dell.com/en-us/shop/2-in-1-laptops/new-inspiron-13-7000-2-in-1/spd/inspiron-13-7375-2-in-1-laptop/dncwdamd1102s There's a three week wait on delivery though, it seems they only announced/released it a few days ago. Looking forward to seeing how it performs.

James W I don't think throttle stop will work , certainly XTU won't. It's something I want to look into. My next video is going to be the Ryzen 8 core laptop by Asus.
OWNorDISOWN Tech Decisions Made Easy that one is interesting but because of the dedicated graphics not having something like Optimus...it consumes a lot of energy. Cheapest desktop replacement I've saw thus far. Good value for those who need a workstation who don't want to pay 3K to Dell, MSI, HP, or Lenovo
James W yes indeed, that must be. The reason. AMD needs to implement some kind of power saving technology. I got mine on sale plus a Best buy gift card so only cost about $450. Not bad.
I had no issues but I just take notes, no need for me to do shading. I've tested a few of these devices though , including my XPS 15 2-1 and they are all pretty similar. The worst one was the Zenbook flip 14, that had some lag issues.
Seems decent without it having an actual use. Its reasonably powerful - but you can get more power for the money, portable - but the battery life and low brightness mean you wont be using it outisde much. Its no desktop replacement. Who would use this and why?
The battery life is the main killer - as a computer to take on the road and take notes on my business trips it would struggle to last the day. Its fine as a note taking and general use laptop with casual gaming thrown in. If it lasted 7 or 8 hours and have that ssd in it would be great. I ended up paying $450 plus $110 for the SSD, that is a good deal.
I have the 128gb with the 1tb hhd, for the cost it's a great bit of kit, just one thing, so you think hp will have an patch for the battery life from amd, and does the hhd drive drain a lot of battery power, or is it minamul, how long battery life with the hhd, compared to with just the 256gb ssd
I got 4.5 hours in my test, just with the hdd. I bought a 256GB SSD and put that in and cloned the OS. I'm going to see it to my mother-in-law. Its a nice laptop when I consider mine with the 256GB SSD and 1 TB HDD cost me $690 after tax. I hope their is some kind of update to help battery life. Really we should be seeing about 7 hours..
I have the I7 laptop you have in the video and struggling getting the pen to connect. What pen works the best and how to do I get it to connect? Hp recommended 1mr94aa#abl pen but it's not recognizing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA
itsphysics thanks mate! Yes, that back light bleed is pretty bad. I'm either go to sell it my mother in law or give it to the wife. They won't know, they will think it is normal 😀
Bryan Crivelari hi Bryan. No, I had no pen in the box but it uses an Ntrig pen. I was using the Surface pen but the Bamboo ink pen is great as that can switch between Ntrig and Wacom so can be used on say the yoga 720 should you switch laptop later on.
@@beatmarketondatrack8136 I actually own this laptop - and yep its really good. To bad that windows isnt optimized for touch inpht at all. Im looking forward to the just announced windows 11 with android app support for windows ! :D
If I were to get this 2 in 1 i would get the ryzen 7 vega 10 chipset in the 13 in model (on the sight it does say active pen) with the stock 256 gb worth of storage so would u recommend this to a manga artist and casual gamer who also does lots of essays?
Yes, I do. The new 13" looks great value and you should see at least a 25% increase in frame rates versus the Vega 8. My only concern is storage. I don't see an SD / Micro SD card slot ?
OWNorDisown OWNorDisown I would assume it would have the same ports as the 15 model and are u sure this could run games like paladins and warframe at 60fps? While being able to draw very precise drawings? And long hours of typing if so for it to be only 1030$ is rather cheap compared to what I was looking at with the intel cores do u think it compares?
Perhaps something like this will work www.amazon.com/HuntGold-Portable-Shakeproof-Protective-Expansion/dp/B07D334DGQ/ref=sr_1_40?ie=UTF8&qid=1532974039&sr=8-40&keywords=2.5%22+hard+drive+rubber

Brazili sayev if you don't mind the shorter battery life and plan to do some gaming on it I do. If you plan on using an external graphics solution via thunderbolt then you have to go with Intel.
it's very awesome review. thanks Mr. I'm designer and engineer student, so I need a laptop but I have to use during 3 years at least. I find the most reliable laptop.Of course, if the performance is appropriate, it is fine. I guess that is this! But I do not know HP's warranty policy. Can I add ssd or RAM at my discretion?
The Asus Vivobook S is $650 i5 8250 u and mx150 GPU: th-cam.com/video/wCMdE_4dl9U/w-d-xo.html No pen support though. This HP I think is the best value for sure if you want pen support, you get decent upgrade options and a dedicated GPU.
I got the lenovo yoga 720 13 inch intel,i am not so happy with it. should i sell it for this instead? Artist wise,i use Paintstorm and photoshop alot. I would love to do high 720p gaming on this
It certainly is a competitively priced solution, make sure you get an SSD configured one though. I still have mine if you are interested. I put in an SSD - but as you saw I had to peel off those rubber feet to get access and stuck them back down. I haven't used it since as I was going to give it to my mother-in-law but she doesn't want one. It plays games well and I am sure your art apps will be fine. Thanks for watching !

Yes indeed, you get what you pay for I'm afraid. This is probably the most affordable 15" 2-1 with better than Intel HD graphics available. I wouldn't say it was suitable for any serious colour reproduction work. The casual artist and note taker it is fine I would say. Some thing like the XPS 15 2-1 may be more up your street but it costs twice as much.
Thanks a lot, Im not a pro photo editor, photography is just a greate hobby for me, but I have a very good monitor to connect as external for better colour accuracy when needed, I think that will be my aproach
Yes, just clone it to another ssd. You will need to buy an adapter to put it that connects via usb . I use a program called Casper, they usually have a free trial www.fssdev.com/products/casper/
Howard Lam AMD drivers have always been worse than Nvidia. I dont think they even list the Vega M GL I have the XPS 15 2 in 1 and initially I was getting like 7 fps using their recommended driver. I dont recall any app crashes on that or the Envy 360 though.

@@OWNORDISOWN is it also convertible and support stylus too? If not then it's can't really be replacement of this one. 😢 Btw great review anyway, it's really details and everything that I want to know can be found on your review.
There is no need for anyone to post videos arguing about this. Intel sucks with gaming. They don't design their chips or chipsets for gaming. They focus on applications. AMD is the world leader for gaming processors and chipsets. I wouldn't invest 3 pennies on an Intel processor or graphics media accelerator for a gaming PC. Intel runs heavy duty apps really well though. Golden rule: Intel: applications AMD: gaming and graphics

Ben thanks Ben ! I actually got it for about $450 plus $110 for the SSD. Not bad at all 😀.Thanks for watching!
Oh wow you went and took the temperature of it... dedicated to the craft...
Yep :) Hope you liked my review !
I did! I got this laptop for Christmas.
Keep up the good work!
The first recommendation from me to you is... Let’s void the warrenty. xD
lol, that's what I thought when I was pealing off that rubber strip. They obviously don't want you to get in. The screw holes were covered in a tamper proof film as well.
Instances where manufacturers use amd ryzen instead of just Intel is just beginning. I just hope better builds come out. The price of AMD should also be cheaper to be considered an alternative.
Michael Aranda I agree Michael, they need to buy their way in and make sure that the battery life is better.
Just when I was looking to buy one, it was really helpful, thanks.
Glad it helped you. My wife loves her and to this day I still think this model is exceptional value. That's for watching !
Thanks for clarifying
This is an amazing review
Buyers beware I order this laptop from HP directly those little weasels and thieves force me to receive the laptop even after I cancel that one day after I order it, they said they couldn't cancel the custom build orders the one that does is forces you to pay 15% restock fee when you get it. I will never buy another HP product again besides on this model on their website there's hundreds of people saying the computer overheats and my brother who's a computer engineer told me the motherboard is junk after a year from the overheating
overheating from what? gaming?

Perfect thorough review. Thanks!
new subber. great review. needed to buy a win machine quick and cheap that I can code and crunch some numbers on.
hello can i ask sir what about video editing performance it is good like adobe premier???
Thank you so much this was very informative:))) +1 sub
Thanks for the sub my friend ! Appreciate it !
Congrats for such a good review
This was extremely helpful! I'm buying a new laptop for my 15 year old for school (& gaming, of course!) & was quite intimidated. I'm FAR from tech savvy- some smartphones are "smarter" than me! I just took advantage of HP's back to school sale & got this model with SSD & free shipping for $640. Watching this reassured me about my purchase. I REALLY appreciate your thorough video & your lovely accent was a nice bonus!
Thanks again,
1980's Mom from USA
Thanks Rebecca ! Glad it helped you. I just gave this laptop to my wife and she loves it. It is probably the most affordable 2-1 with pen support out there. Thanks for watching !
Hey, would you recommend buying this laptop in 2020?
I reviewed it here:
th-cam.com/video/Qix2ECfueoM/w-d-xo.html
Or perhaps the Yoga 720/730 ?
Penelope Pegg get lenovo 730 with gtx 1050... it has very accurate color,1080p 15” beautiful screen, n u gonna need the gpu!! most dont come with gpu, its the best laptop in a decades!!
Great review! Thanks. Is it compatible with the Adonit ink stylus? It is rechargeable, while the Bamboo uses an AAAA battery, which I find inconvenient.
So what should I go for? Xps 13 or hp envy 15 x360 ?
Both with an M.2 SSD
I will buy this laptop next monday at used market
Its an awesome laptop. I gave mine to my wife and she uses it every day, loves it.
Very decent in depth review!
Thanks !
Can I check when you removed the rubber feet did they easily go back onto the chassis or did you need to purchase new ones?
Hi! Just wondering what’s the best 2-in-1 laptop that could support gaming (Dota 2 specifically) under 1,100 us dollars? Would love to hear back from you!
I still think the Dell XPS 15 2-1 is probably your best bet, unless you can pick up a second hand Surface Book 2 with a GTX 1060.
And yes Surface Book 2 is my first option but it’s just expensive 😂
Thanks a lot for replying didn’t actually expected you would reply this quick hands down!
I do have a new 10th gen CPU HP x360 to review. Should be doing my first look on Thursday
Wonderful review helped a lot + 1sub
Thanks for the sub 👍 Glad it helped you 😃
Is it possible to replace the battery with something more powerful? Because apart from battery life it looks really good to me :D
Unfortunately not, hopefully with BIOS and driver updates this will improve because I agree it is a great laptop otherwise.
Perhaps some of my settings are a bit different? I just use the default ones that load up at start up..
Can I check when you removed the rubber feet did they easily go back onto the chassis or did you need to purchase new ones?
It was a nightmare, they didnt peel off it one strip, more like in pieces which I later stuck down with glue...
Archicad needs 1000 MB and the a2500u will use system memory - that is OK in games though so you probably will be OK.
exklim Tech News Appreciate very much your swift response! Now Im definetely buying one of these. Thank you very much!

Excellent review, exactly what I needed
Glad it helped you :)
I'm torn between this model and the i7-8550u with 4gb geforce mx-150. What do you think is best for smooth productivity and gaming?
Marcos Fernandez I would say the mx150 one is best. You will get higher frame rates and longer battery life.
@@OWNORDISOWN Awsome! thanks for the input, subbed!
Thanks for the sub Marcos !
Thanks for this review. I'm considering getting this. My version has a 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD. So i'm hoping my load times won't be like yours, like you said yours only had the 1tb? I'll let you know!
Hi Clara, yes, I put an SSD in mine and it makes a huge difference ! Thanks for watching :)
The SSD makes a big difference. However Win10 and HP stuff don't leave much room. You might try the 512G instead. That's if you have other stuff on your boot.
Another great video 👍🏽
Thanks !
Cool info. Thanks for sharing. I gotcha back 😎🤘
Thanks Kimberly :)
How good exactly is the response when using the pen? I consider this laptop for my studies and would use it to write along during lectures so it needs to be really good.
Hi Jack, It is very responsive. Better than the Asus Zenbok flip 14 I am testing now...
Battery life on the 13" is supposed to be OK too - around the 7 hour mark I think.
so Yoga 720 15" is a better choice than HP Envy x360 15T ??? both having SSD and same RAM.
OWNorDisown
I bought it yesterday and I very satisfie with it.
OWNorDisown
Is The licence written on the bottom of the laptop? Or it should be in the properties list?
Ibrahim eltabay right click on This PC and then click on properties, scroll down to the bottom...
Need a large mid priced convertible laptop with huge screen and number pad for composing. HP envy or Acer Spin 5?
OWNorDisown yes after abit of digging online I managed to get one for 600! So bargain in my eyes. Thanks for the sound advice!
Good choice !
where it struggles in raw CPU performance, it more than makes up for it in GPU performance. solid review Steven, keep up the good work!
rannon welikala Thanks Rannon ! Yes definitely. Put this CPU in a Dell XPS 13 and you will have a solid little gaming machine. Thanks for watching!

Would you recommend any digital pen for "HP Envy x360 m6-aq103dx."
I have not yet found any digital pen compatible with this model.
I would try the Bamboo Ink pen as that can switch between wacomb AES Windows pen Protocol. Very good pen.
Did a better job with temps. Did you undervolt it and experiment with it in that way yet?
Not bad.
How about the pressure sensitive of the Pen? Is it as good as the surface Pro?
OWNorDISOWN Tech Decisions Made Easy can i ask was the brightness the same on the amd, as the intell model, do you know
I have the 128gb with the 1tb hhd, for the cost it's a great bit of kit, just one thing, so you think hp will have an patch for the battery life from amd, and does the hhd drive drain a lot of battery power, or is it minamul, how long battery life with the hhd, compared to with just the 256gb ssd
TIA
If I recall it uses pens that use Windows Pen Protocol, eg surface pen. Bamboo Ink Pen is a good option.
What 16 GB RAM did you use for this laptop?
Do you think the 16gb ryzen 7 model would be good for video editing
I think it will handle 1080p just fine.
Wtf that screen LMAO. Nice vid my friend haha
itsphysics thanks mate! Yes, that back light bleed is pretty bad. I'm either go to sell it my mother in law or give it to the wife. They won't know, they will think it is normal 😀

The Pavilion is god. I have both. The pavilion has a better screen is smaller and about just as good
The pen came with the laptop? If not, what the model of the pen?
Bryan Crivelari hi Bryan. No, I had no pen in the box but it uses an Ntrig pen. I was using the Surface pen but the Bamboo ink pen is great as that can switch between Ntrig and Wacom so can be used on say the yoga 720 should you switch laptop later on.

I purchased the m.3 SSD version but I want to install an HDD, where can I get the rubber caddy? It's not available through HP

Some great deals and options for you A Ryzen 2500u / Vega 8 GPU for $480. i'm also selling my Dell Inspiron 7000 gaming (i5 7300hq/GTX 1050ti) for $450 cash ($470 Paypal) inclusing shipping in the USA if interested. Its just over 1 year old. I reviewed it, gave it to my wife and she uses it for Word and internet.
OWNorDisown this is an interesting deal the only problem is i live in egypt... I can only get things from amazon or other us sites by using an intermediate company that buys and ships them to me...
However the laptop with the 2500u and 480$ is realy interesting what is this laptop called ?and does it have a 2700u version? Or is it just a sale in store?.. thanks for your help 😃
Hi I just got a Lenovo yoga 720 16/icore7/1tb I want to know if this comes like that ore it’s make with 1tb cuz I bean looking and all that I see is 512 gb I just buy it cuz it looks like new and it works perfect. So I will like to know if is worth the 400 hundred dollars that I paid like I said it’s like new .
Just replied to your other thread. $400 is a steal :)
I was about to buy this, I do like its 15inch 2in1 desing, but all said it has low bright and pour color accuracy
I got this laptop 128gb SSD, 1TB... I want to know if I can increase the 128gb to 256gb sdd
Yes, just clone it to another ssd. You will need to buy an adapter to put it that connects via usb . I use a program called Casper, they usually have a free trial www.fssdev.com/products/casper/
@@OWNORDISOWN Oh, I was thinking all I would do is to put in the 256gb into the SSD slot...
Thanks for the quick response
So between the amd and the intel one which one has a longer battrey life?
Based on my testing on all the 15w U series Intel ones I would say the Intel ones for sure.
exklim Tech News thanks alot
What pen do you use for this device?
He is using the Bamboo Ink pen in this video. A microsoft surface pen should work too
Is it just me, or the fans on this laptop are just too loud?
I have heard the driver for vega is very buggy and apps crash very often.
Howard Lam AMD drivers have always been worse than Nvidia. I dont think they even list the Vega M GL I have the XPS 15 2 in 1 and initially I was getting like 7 fps using their recommended driver. I dont recall any app crashes on that or the Envy 360 though.
Great video
Thanks!
Still better than the SG Tab S3
There is no comparison. This is in a completely different league.
I really want to buy this device, it's hard search the 15 version review, but after watch the battery life is so much disappointing. In that huge room there's no huge battery.
I have its replacement - with the 4700u, doing battery test , I am impressed so far,. Stay tuned for its review :)
@@OWNORDISOWN is it also convertible and support stylus too? If not then it's can't really be replacement of this one. 😢
Btw great review anyway, it's really details and everything that I want to know can be found on your review.
Golden rule:
Intel: applications
AMD: gaming and graphics
so what is better for video and photo editing?
๛ƚυυυɳƈ_૦١ intel
nice review. But enough review for AMD devices. Oh and thunderbolt Intel. Obviously it's not in an AMD laptop.
does the laptop get really hot and is the fan really loud?
All in my video. Fans start at 07:26 .
will a 12 gb be good for video editing?
RamaDon yes, it will be perfectly fine 😀
thanks
Can the laptop be charged by the usb-c port
Nope
Can it run Maya. 3ds max, and zbrush,
how does the pen stick to the screen?
I use glue
Is there any ryzen 7 version for HP envy x360 with 15 inch version?
No, Ryzen 3 and 5 only...
There is now, hp Envy X360 15z, pen included. It's on the site as the 15tz but it invoices as 15z.
Can its Intel 620 (i7 ith gen) run 4k movies on extended monitor?
Yes, you have hdmi 2.0, good for 4k at 60 hz
Maybe is this support thunderbolt 3? If that is so, that's awesome!
박경곤 Unfortunately it doesnt , shame really. The symbol just represents that it has power share...
OWNorDisown it's realy and realy thank you Mr. !
How is the 13 inch model?
It looks and feels great. I've not had chance to review it though but by all accounts it is supposed to be good. For me it would be a toss up between that and the Yoga 720 13"
