    Great review as alwyas. For Envy intel version of both 14 and 16 models, strangely, HP is offering both Core Ultra U series and H series and that's making things a bit confusing to pick the correct one. You probably should do another review of the 14" model with 125H or 155H .

    I wanted to love the Envy 14 so much. For me it was nearly perfect, except for one thing: the speakers caused so much vibration around the mousepad. I know it’s picky but it’s so distracting. Drove me crazy and sent mine back :(

    Loved your review, like usual! ❤ I have a question though. Do you know why HP doesn't include the battery management settings on their Envy and Spectre laptops? It seems kind of strange that it's available on their business laptops but not their consumer ones. Maybe with your connect you could reach out to HP and see what they say?

    Thank you again, Andrew. I bought an AMD Envy 15" 2in1 in 2022 based on your review and I am generally, very happy. I use a small monitor but would like higher resolution. I try to watch all of your reviews of similar products. I like your review of the AM 16" Imax you recently posted. The price is great BUT should I wait till 2025 to take "advantage" of AI, CoPilot and the new processors and more RAM perhaps. I typically use the PC for business tasks but I often have 15 or more windows open, 2 or more Spread Sheets, Quickbooks and several browser windows as well

    The key takeaway from these two laptops is that for their price point, you do get a lot of bang for your buck. Obviously there are better laptops out there but for what they offer, I won't quibble too much. The HP Envy 14 and 16 do have minor differences so as Andrew states, choose wisely to make sure you get the right one that will fit your needs. They both have beautiful OLED displays, clear webcams as well as internal mics, the 14" can be specked out at 32GB of soldered RAM at checkout while the 16" can only be specked out at 16GB of soldered RAM unfortunately. The Wifi card on the 14" variant has Wifi 7 while the 16" variant comes out of the box with Wifi 6E although you can switch it out if you choose. The speakers on the 16" sounds louder and fuller than the speakers on the 14" variant however. In conclusion, if I were to choose one over the other, the one I would select is the 14" variant due to the 32GB of RAM and Wifi 7 which is more future proof than on the 16" variant. Brilliant review Andrew!! 👍😁

    what is up with hp and there hinges? If i were to buy one would you say there is a good chance the hinge will break?

      @jennifernomura7681 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I had the 14 inch HP Envy x360 for about a year before one of the hinges spontaneously broke. I took it out of my backpack one day and when I opened it up the hinge had broken and cracked my screen. Unfortunately a repair for the damage wasn't worth keeping the laptop, so I had to buy a completely new laptop that does not have the kind of hinges the HP laptops have. The design of the hinges is flawed and many other owners have complained of the same issue. Personally, I would not recommend this laptop because of that specific issue, but otherwise I loved my laptop and I am disappointed I had to replace it.

      I have 2018 Envy x360 13. Used it as a chat screen, folded over, for 2 years while WFH, use it every day frequently, fold it to tent for movies.. Hinge is like day 1. Does not even wobble. I hve no idea if that means anything in 2024, but clearly HP CAN make a sturdy hinge.
      After 6 years, keyboard has started failing though, and it's glued. There are still parts to buy, but I'm thinking it' time to replace. Though, Zen 5 is coming soon.. Then again, Envy is a dead line now, so who knows if there will even be an equivalent device.

      @Rivr23 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I've owned an Hp Envy x360 15 inch for 3 years now and have had to send it for warranty repairs for a broken hinge and a fingerprint sensor that stopped working. The hinge issue is very common from what I've seen in several forums. The laptop is excellent but durability is a major concern - Hp seems to go cheap with some components. Don't expect it to exceed 2 years without some major fault.

    I just got the HP Spectre 16 for drawing (it was on sale for less than the 16 inch at Best Buy with the same RAM configuration but with an RTX 4050 at 50 - 55 watts, which HP is not listing, violating Nvidia's OEM requirements to list TGP, and half the SSD space, from 2 TB to 1 TB, but at least it can be replaced). That is going to be my tablet tomorrow.
    Unfortunately, not only was the 14 inch more expensive, but it also lacks an HDMI port and doesn't have good GPU performance for what I plan to do on it (even a lower wattage RTX 4050 runs curcles arouns the Intel Arc iGPUs). I can take the hit in battery life in this case from the 14 to the 16.
    But compared to the XPS 14/16, it's no contest; the Spectres are better for pretty much everything apart from RAM (64 GB max on the XPS but 32 GB on the Spectres, both soldered) but its way too expensive on the XPS to get that much RAM and they have too many other issues like the keyboard, touch row, touchpad, and other QC issues, for far more than the Spectres or Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i (for the 16 inch XPS).
    The Envys and most Windows laptops would be even better if they didn't replace the right control key (which I use a lot) with the useless for me CoPilot key; if they just added it between the control and alt keys like Lenovo did, then that wouls be much more acceptable. (Still annoying though!)
    I hope Dell learns from the Envys and Spectres and completely redoes the XPS laptops, because they're straight up trash for the price this year compared to every other laptop.

(As of May 2024, there's no offical touch screen option on any Framework Laptop and I won't be getting an iPad because Krita is not on iPadOS and for other reasons like iPadOS in general.)

      Update: I unfortunately got a refund because Best Buy told me that FedEx had damaged my package. I decided to get the Asus ROG Flow x13 (with 32 GB of RAM and the RTX 4070) because I do value a 2 in 1 but one with a smaller size and a dGPU.

I certainly wish they included the keys on the laptop and am in no way defending them, but that’s an alternative for people who absolutely need those keys and opens up your options a lot
