Don’t feel defeated due to the weather conditions. You’re out to enjoy your travels, take the time you need to enjoy your ride. Take time for yourself be careful and be safe.
Hi Laura, Heck, even on nice days on a motorcycle road trip I need a break at times and hole up in a nice hotel for a few days just to lazy around a bit. I have learned to listen to my inner senses for my own good. Glad you did too, no need for guilt especially after what you went through on that mountain🏔️. Very wise choice. I wish I could tell you some of my stories lol. One time on a road trip to Florida I got very sick and had to extend my stay at a hotel for 6 days to recover. And that’s only part of the story. It got REALLY crazy after that! Very cool bolo tie btw!
@@solo.roader Yes Laura for sure! But another part of the story besides just being sick for six days in the Florida hotel I was staying in at Fort Lauderdale, the hotel was over 48 stories high and while I was very sick, I walked out onto the balcony to get some early morning fresh air. Then the steel service door slammed shut behind me and locked! and I was stranded out on the balcony in the scorching Florida heat with walking pneumonia for 18 hours and got heat stroke as well, lost 100% of my voice and couldn’t scream for help To anyone from over 48 stories high. Try not to laugh… but I was stranded out there with no shirt and only in my underwear! Lol. I was red as a lobster 🦞 roasting all day! With bad walking pneumonia. That’s only part it! so now you know at least one of my road warrior stories! lol
Years ago, I was learning to fly. I enjoyed the experience a lot but the most important thing I learned, had nothing to do with the instruments or the mechanisms that maneuvered the aircraft. "You're always better off being down here wishing you were up there, than being up there, wishing you were down here." It only took me one brief experience to understand the validity of that old expression. 2000 hours and an instrument rating later, I reflected on that lesson. I've applied it to motorcycle riding too. So sorry you spent a day "parked" but your most important ability is having the ability to know when it just isn't worth it. Excellent decision making! Be proud of yourself and your maturity in decision making. And you look great with the bolo tie. Always look forward to your posts!
That is a first class bolo tie, very nice! I agree about cities. I avoid them as much as possible for the very same reason. Smart to take an off day. No shame in bending to mother nature's will, because she will always have the last word.
Dear Laura, if I may give you some advice, it is better to regret not having done something, than to regret having done something... so, it is better to wait a little rather than stressing yourself out unnecessarily, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, the day will dawn again...
In my book staying an extra night in apparently a Alien themed Howard Johnsons motel is a win! 😊 I'm glad you found the Bolo tie you liked.. not everyone who wears them really pull it off. It suits you right down to the ground, Great pics you included. In that work photo you look pulled together and very Capable. See you in the next one!
Hi Laura Thank you for your video always enjoy Sorry your having such bad weather it can be frustrating for sure but your an amazing young lady who knows how to deal with whatever comes your way spending an extra night was good for your body & soul Always be safe out there Looking forward to your next video Take care be safe Ridin in the Wind 😎😎
Sorry you got stuck for an extra day in the hotel room, no bike or road shots but more of you which is always nice. Hopefully the next day's ride will be good. I am waiting too, but for it to cool down! The Bolo looks good on you.
Hey Laura. Some of the hi teck biker girls with their advertising payed gear would have told us “think I take a break today to enjoy the beautiful countryside”. But not You Laura. You always tell us the truth about your feelings. If You are cold, wet, happy or sad, if You feel lonely or afraid, if your gear is not waterproof etc You are letting us know! Always. That is why your channel is so much better. As a biker or just as a person i know how things are, because You told me! Thanks from a danish biker
Hey Laura!! Nice bolo tie that you scored for sure. I was in Gallop once was on a flying trip and stopped in the airport there for av gas took the airports courtesy car down route 66 not far to have some food and got to see something I have only seen in comic strips this gentleman can in and had a long jacket on he opened one side up to show some Indian jewlery penned to that side that he had made trying to get me buy some. thanks for the video I enjoyed it very much it was hotter than hot the day I was in Gallop! I think I would of enjoyed the cold better thanks for taking me there to experience it. as always be safe!!
Hi, Laura. I think you did the right think taking the day off, a rest and recharge would do you good plus you would be warmer for a day. You have to think of the wind chill at 50mph compared to walking. I agree about towns, its not claustrophobia with me its just I don't like people lol. They say you cant fall out with yourself, that I'm still trying to work out if its true. I really hope you start to have a nicer time and ride soon ❤💋
GMC Sierra, eh? I’ve brought those trucks up a few times this past week… This week I’ll talk more about Toyota Tacomas. maybe it’ll be the ad for next week!
Laura, why didn’t you stay at the El Rancho? Tell me at least got over there. If you do you have to go to the second floor and look at all the autographed actor pictures. They go way back and it’s fun and fascinating.
@@solo.roader Aww! I’m so sorry! Yeah, they literally go back to the 20s. Several hundred of them and they all signed them and they all stayed there. I always stayed there when I went to Gallup on business. On another note, when are you going to get a BMW? 😉

And if you have to due to weather and you want to get out of the hotel room take an Uber or Taxi to a restaurant or where ever....
Oh man, it sounds like you have a lot of really good stories! 6 days sick must have been frustrating!!

Well said! I like that.
Laura get some saddle bags and lose the back pack... that will make it much more comfortable and safer.... Stay safe. God bless.
Don't feel defeated, it's called wisdom! There are days to ride and days to not ride. Relax and be safe!

One thing I remember about staying in Gallup NM was the trains. Seemed to run nonstop. And the cool route 66 old business

Haha, that totally does sound like something you’d see in a comic book!
Have to take a day off some times. Can't ride 365. Journey is the destination. Always so clear and beautiful after a storm

That bolo is fantastic! 🩵
I agree!
count them 7 layers! 7! Can you see them? Lmao That Bolo tie is quite unique, road treasures are my fave.

Cool bolo.
Be careful of the "gentlemen". A young lady by herself, not worth taking any chances.
cooking here in west manitoba! pushed my 883 to the lift as its got a plugged float valve on carburetor from sitting too long i suppose.
Aw rats!
Hi Laura!😀
Howdy!
Ride safe, be safe
Thank you, will do!
No window, I'd be a bit claustrophobic as well. 👍🏼
😅
Rode in snow coming across Waterton Lakes National Park and will never do that again!
Yikes! Rough eh??
Are you sure you are not on your, Bike Road Trip. Up in the North Pole, Alaska.

Suits you too.

When was this? In April ?
Early March. :)
@@solo.roader I didn't think it was in July that is for sure. I skied Toas NM , once in February and the snow was melting fast then .
Literally stayed in the best western off that exit a month ago on a motorcycle trip. That Taco Bell is terrible fyi
Hahaha! Actually I was pretty close to going to the Taco Bell. Glad I dodged a bullet! 😂
