Julia Barr earns her Emmy in these scenes, for sure. In addition to her powerful work (and Richard Schoberg), the panning of the camera to the attendees breaks my heart. Angela, Donna, Cliff, Ellen, Cindy...they are all there for Brooke and Tom. This is what great soap looks like.
Julia did not win the Emmy for this storyline. This storyline aired in December 1988 and Laura wasn't even nominated for Lead or Supporting Actress for the 1989 Daytime Emmys. Julia won her first Emmy award in 1990.
oh when Brooke looks behind her at 3:56, heartbreaking. I think it’s her looking for Laura. The everyday habit of a mom making sure she hasn’t left the house without her child.
@@natalieschannel7675 Yes Josh killed Laura while driving drunk I am glad somebody besides me can see that Plenty of blame to go around on this Barbara Josh and yes even Laura for lying to Barbara
Does anyone have any clips from when Anne Tyler Martin died in 1981? Anne had alot of class. She was responsible for bringing culture to Pine Valley by opening up The Boutique in 1970.
A very realistic storyline, but Brooke and Tom forgave Barbara too quickly. I wish they would have mentioned that Barbara became an alcoholic because of this….
I used to watch this from 1980-2000. And remember all of these wonderful characters.

@@chrisparker7256 thank you for the clarification. I will say instead, she more than earns an Emmy for this work, no matter what the academy said. 🙂

Those are the moments that kill you when someone you care about dies 💔 😭
What on daytime in the past few years compares to THIS?
NOTHING!
Everything else pales in comparison!
Very powerful episode
oy vay! What an emotional scene!
When I saw that episode about laura that's when everyone had brooke's back and the 3 men helped her through a difficult time.😩
Goodness dixie was so awkward
And a terrible dress! She looks like a rejected Wednesday cosplayer
If I were there, I would have said "There's a Seat In Heaven Waiting For Those Two Boys".
The woman responsible for Laura's death then coming to the funeral I'd have a huge problem with her there!!
Barbara wasn’t responsible..That Josh guy was

I was wondering which man you were talking about and then I saw the priest.🤣
Why people always wear black at a funeral on a soap opera ❓
It is a custom for mourners to wear black or purple for a funeral.
It’s not just a soap thing people typically wear black at funerals over the world.
Have you never been to an actual funeral?
