- In the past some may have viewed the Lincoln Navigator as little more than a fancied up Ford Expedition. That’s no longer the case. For 2018 the Lincoln Navigator asserts a distinct character from its Ford sibling, capturing the bold opulence found in grand Lincolns of the past. With a spacious, audaciously-styled interior, a host of high-tech features, and a hearty twin-turbocharged V6 under the hood the Lincoln Navigator has its sights set on luxury SUV domination. Can it achieve that goal? Kelley Blue Book’s Micah Muzio investigates in the this video.

So glad to see Lincoln really make a comeback, they were basically dead the last 15 plus years. Now if Honda and Acura could get off of their butts again and make some cool sexy stuff again.

I think the civil looks great, accord is a bit reserved, but the CRV is nice as ever. And 2018 Acura’s look much better with their grill redesign. I think Nissan needs to step it up. Outside design could be better, but inside features and design need a rework.

Not a fan of a Turbocharged V6 in a big American Made SUV, but its still great to see Lincoln making a comeback.

Thought it was obvious...
But I thought the Ridgeline was just a SUV with a bed? And FYI, those are the only two things the Tundra has, it's behind on a technology standpoint, and it's the one of the most expensive trucks. That's why it scored 7th on that list. Plus, the Tacoma suffers from reliability issues. Face it, Toyota isn't perfect at everything, I know it's hard for a Toyota fanboy such as yourself to believe that, but that's simply the case here.
Really debating on trading in my 2015 GMC Yukon Denali for one of these. Other than not having a v8, the numbers are impressive.

Its the HorsePower that matters, not the V8 or Liters and this one has plenty.
jhugo1986 trade the Denali its just a Tahoe where the Expedition and Navigator have always been different post 2003. GMC really has Denali owners fooled at least give me a unique interior but everything is literally pulled from the Tahoe, I’m assuming the 6.2 L V8 is the reason why Denali owners make their purchase.

Just got out of Austin Auto Show, and AFTER 3 hours (eat, my kid play & check every single brand that is more than 40), we can say that the latest 2018 Lincoln Navigator is the best SUV with 3rd Row seat in the planet.
We checked ALL of them (Asian made, European, North American made, etc...).
Their top of the line that's in the $100+k beats every single SUV with 3rd row seat, and the sound by REVEL is super awesome.
IF u want SUV with 3rd row seat plus with the best seats (it's super comfortable, even the 3rd row seats), then this is it!
MOST (if NOT all) people in the comment section, didn't see it yet in person, so IF you don't, shut the F up!

Fantastic review Micah! Love your unbias takes and thorough in depth look. Would definelty take this over a Escalade but I feel like that isn't much praise. The tech in here seems like it would be a bit much for the Lincoln buyer to handle or understand.
I have the heads-up display in my Continental... and its gotta be one of the best if not the best in the business. Also, because no one will tell you this, but those gorgeous headlights are at least a whopping $5,000+ each. That's what it cost to replace on my Continental after a Lexus driver backed up into me (freaking Lexus drivers), and the Navigator's headlights are even bigger and has two LED strips.

I'm no Lincoln fan but I give them big props for their interior design. I'd take this thing with the family on a road trip over the benz I have. Europeans still could learn from our high standards on what a full size SUV is. Mercedes biggest suv has no room in the back for all the luggage we take with the whole family inside. It's been frustrating a bit. I know a box on the roof is doable but Its still. It feasible to be and a hassle for the family. with a full size escalade or navigator, that's a different story getting everything in the rear.
I got tell you the Lincoln Navigator is the best SUV in the world right now. Hands down. Good job Lincoln 👏㊗👌㊗❤㊗

Wow... if you want a luxury SUV, this is what you go for. Now waiting for the Cadillac to come up with something cool and new, the Escalade is so outta the game as of now.
sidhu704 they designed this truck based on the newer Escalades. Look at the straight body lines on the side. It's pretty obvious. Navigator was an outright copy of the Escalades ever since it first came out. Escalade was first just like the suburban and the Tahoe. Ford is a bunch of copying dick riders who need Chevy's ideas to come up with their own.
Well, don't care about what they did in the past Tyrone... lol, look at what they're doing now, they're literally doing 100x better than Cadillac
sidhu704 You must be joking. Escalade looks way better than this rig. And has a better design overall. The Lincoln looks very bland by design standards. And those seats got a lot of plastic on them. Covering the back and in the gaps of the front. So please. The Escalade has some of the same things on this truck. And a better engine. If you are going to say such outlandish things. Bring facts. Numbers alone show Cadillac stomping them. Everyone for that matter. The Esaclade has premium semi aniline leather. All throughout. In the real world. The Escalade tows ad much as the Lincoln and has slightly better fuel economy. It moves less parts. And has better reliability. Cheaper to keep maintained. The only thing I like is that the Lincoln does finally look and feel like a top of the line luxury vehicle. And that ultra view sunroof is a must. Which im mad Cadillac does not offer.

Servant of JESUS CHRIST fact, escalade lowest reliability in Consumer reports 2 yrs in a row now. Fact, escalade had jittery hard ride and transmission problems. Fact, Lincoln 3.5 had more power and torque than Chevy 6.2. I could go on all day but subjectively speaking the facts add up to the Escalade being just about the biggest ripoff of a vehicle you can buy. Because of the poor ride due to the live rear axle it will never be more than a glorified Tahoe which itself is just a low rent Silverado with a roof. As a result the caddy has the same problems like infamous Chevy shake just like their crappy pickup trucks that can't compete.

How’s the hwy interior noise in this compared to the expedition and Escalade? Had a 2011 GL450 - The loud tire noise detracted From the luxury experience.

The parking assist deactivated because you weren’t positioned correctly. You have to be 3+ feet ahead of the parking spot. Not next to it.

Lincoln be coming with it damn!!!! what I dont understand get....am I tripping or is lincoln the only vehicle I know that have mid 1990's vehicles with 2018 features....digital dash in dash screen heated and cooled seats phone moon roof fogs etc my brothers 1996 town car executive series has all this and everything came with the car....

I wish they would have followed the theme of the taillights being spread across the rear from previous generations (1997-2006,2015-2017) I hated the retro design of (2007-2014) should have been LED, the rear end would look much better with the taillights design from the Aviator, these taillights remind me of of the Ford Explorer and the way they are curved on the side of the body remind of of the Range Rover as well.
