The reverse camera has been replaced 3 times and the lower control arms 2 times. Don’t buy one. The windshield is a rock magnet I’ve had to replace the whole thing like 6 times.
I’ve never noticed that these had push button transmissions! I mean it makes sense with the Lincoln Continental of the same year having that feature. I guess I always assumed these had the Ford shift knob like in a Fusion, or a console shift like in an F-150
Great review. Honestly just a Ford EcoVan with a tux and bow-tie, a varsity quarterback at the prom. Too bad Lincoln doesn't make a sedan version of this.
The general manager at the dealership I work at drives one of these as his demo, when he sent it down to service to get an oil change all the mechanics cringed because it’s so damn long they have to use a special rack to get it up in the air, the jack points are too far apart for a normal rack😂
If they're anything like my Expedition, they also have a couple of janky and awkward aeroshields that need to come off. With two different bolt sizes to boot.

Just remember... When it's Fordness starts to show, it isn't going to cost you as much to repair those super common Ford components. Can't say the same thing about a Benz or a Land Rover.
@@Madhouse_Media Oh I know… when I was looking for this car I could’ve opted for a BMW 7-Series for around the same price, and I really like the 7-series with the doctored up Bangel Butt! But I kept in mind the repair cost and steered well clear of it.
I find Naviator`s design a bit more clean and classy over say like Escalade`s, so i kinda like it more.
That second to last sentence nearly made me cry. You’re a wonderful writer.
I've driven this thing.
Absolutely brilliant and beautiful.
Lincoln created this segment, and the luxe pickup segment.
2018 Navigator Reserve L: The car for dads suffering a mid life crisis while wanting luxury on a budget because his wife have spent money on fake coupons snipped from newspapers, while losing stocks to the stockbros
exactly - ppl who brag about saving money on deals then piss that difference away on other financial decisions like overpaying for a trim level.
If you want luxury on a budget, you're not looking at a Navigator. It probably won't cost as much to maintain or repair compared to something like a Range Rover (that's where the Ford underpinnings are a big plus), but you're still shelling out 75 grand or more.
@@Madhouse_Media beyond cosmetics and a couple extras that you can still get in the explorer, a Navigator is just really a rebadge. same as Caddies over at GM theyre just a remix of an existing platform and not much more. Upkeep maybe isnt as bad but the sticker cost is about the same as that range rover.
A budget? You should probably look up the msrp 😂
we had a 2015 navigator that we got with 55k miles. that we put 100k miles on in about 2.5 yeas and we loved it. the turbos blew under warranty and both front window regulators went but warranty covered it and we ran that car hard.
I wasn't aware that PennDOT now administered driver license tests, as when I passed my test over 40 years ago they were still given at the State Police barracks. That said, it was exactly the same thing you describe; people who were nervous about flunking in Berks County would sometimes be given the advice to have Mom drive them up past the Regular Car Reviews Tennis Club to Schuylkill County where the troopers were said to be "nicer". P.S. -5pts spelling for "Navagator" in the thumbnail ;-)
As a Berks County resident who had many friends do just this, the accuracy is astounding 😂
That oil thing is from the idle habit people have with lack of an oil cooler I'll bet.
I was a valet for 21 years until last month. I’ll say this about Lincoln - I’ve driven a lot of them. In all sorts of condition. Not one was uncomfortable. Even the ‘66 Continental - I was uncomfortable driving it in downtown San Francisco because I couldn’t see if I was inside my lane, but the seats and suspension were still comfortable.
"Its essentially a car for drunk drivers"
Now that's what I call Marketing
Honestly? This is the review I've been looking for - as a dad, with two kids, wife wanting two more, and a dog, this would be perfect. I'd happily throw whatever I wanted in the back, while pulling project cars home with it.
My family have a loaded Aviator and they are exactly the type of owner you’re describing
The perfect ride for the guy who wanted a Raptor but got veto'd because the seats were too stiff for their partner
I work at a Ford dealership, the "I'm not a rich man" guy is on par with 4 of the guys I work with, and one of them has a Navigator, one has a loaded Expedition, the other two have Limited F-150 pickups lmao
I worked as a salesman at a Ford Lincoln dealership during the 08 market crash. The GM would drive one as his demo, because we were always required to have one on site or on order but we sold 2 a year. As long as he had one, we didn’t have to order another one and we could mark it down to move it out.
only RCR could deliver such introspective philosophy with a chapter titled "my pants"
2018 Lincoln Navigator Reserve L: The official car of "You know, I was top sh*t 20 years ago. Money, hookers, blow, you name it. Those were the days partying with Limp Bizkit and the guy from Smashmouth. Stick around and I can fire up my PS1 and play some Tony Hawk. Hey...where are you going???"
Sounds like your average Xavier alum
That sounds like a cool dude to hang out with? BTW, WTF 😳 happened to Fred Durst? He looks totally different now! 😅
15:00 -- 15:39 is the most important piece of advice you will hear as we close out 2023.
Definitely stepped up the production, cheers!
Youre one of the few youtubers who makes their ads enjoyable. Actually considering getting a factor subscription. Im 25 and this gut isnt getting any smaller 😅
My sister used to own one of these. Fantastic barge. Her husband needed something to write off on taxes.
I was waiting for Mr. Regular to make the 'see you in the hood' remark. On the other hand, you can do Uber Black with this, to make that 'side income hustle', when the stocks stop 'stock-ing'.
Luxury cars ALWAYS depreciate like no tommorow. Mainly due to more to go wrong along with high running costs like insurance etc.
My advice. Buy a cheap 7-10 year old luxury car - checking ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, but fir god sake- treat it like "bangernomics"
Sell it after a year before the money pit forms!
*Lexus has entered the chat to prove this wrong
I kind of agree with you. I like to pick them up around 5 years old and then drive them until the wheels fall off. Never really had one turn into a money pit yet (knock on wood).
@@Realwessharpe always exceptions to the rule....
@@LG123ABC good on you my guy. Keep it that way. The trick is - not to fall in love with said vehicle.
@@orderofmagnitude-TPATPTbh there is a lot more nuance. With makes like the aforementioned Lexus or brands like Acura or certain years/models of even some German makes u can have a great car. It’s just kind of reductive to say luxury cars turn into money pits when just about ANY car made in the last 5-10 years likely shares most parts with their corporate ‘luxury’ sibling.
My old boss got an Expedition Max, pretty optioned out but no 4WD. Fucker was FAST for a 3 ton brick with that ecoboost
7:40… “When’s it gonna turn into a FORD?”
The moment it hits 100k miles.
This script is a top ten for me. Laughing my ass off. Good job guys
Beautiful interior, that leather looks high quality. Too bad they don’t put one of their V8 engines in it.
Apart from the buttons already being worn through at 63,000 miles... Such a joke
That piano black is the opposite of beautiful. Fingerprints everywhere.
Its fords idea of luxury
Really? The leather was my least favorite part. Looks kinda like plastic with its sheen. I wish they'd get this right like the Germans. Other than that it's a fairly nice looking interior
Really doesn't need a V8 from the sounds of things. She sure does hustle for a hefty girl
13:24 The reference was for Johnnie Walker Black Label whiskey.
I work at an AAMCO Transmissions shop and we see 2-3 of these on a weekly basis
Ford not recalling the CDF drum on the 10R80 should be a crime.
I'm jealous of the SKA license plate. PICK IT UP!!!
Been a while since YT has recommended any of your content. Nice to see one about a Lincoln Navigator
Yeah, it's been kind of annoying that the algorithm just doesn't show people our stuff. But I also kind of get it, since we're not exactly the most advertiser/algo-friendly channel on here 😂 But that's why the people who click the bell and show up here every Monday mean more than ever. I really love my job, and seeing people still showing up at all is so cool. I'll never stop being grateful.
You should subscribe!
Ford tech here you can change the oil at 5K for synthetic blend and 8k for full synthetic
Great summation, Mr. Regular. And a good thought for throughout the new year. BE well!
The Jersey plates are icing on the cake.
Love my 2010 expedition EL. The 5.4 3v takes precautionary maintenance but not bad.
Change that oil! And I'd change those tensioners at 60K miles whether they needed it or not.
I must admit this was not a bad assessment of the Lincoln navigator whatsoever. Very fair very balanced. 3000 mile oil changes are a little extreme. 5000 miles with Fords full synthetic. Will keep these things running forever I’m a stress 5000 miles with Ford full synthetic.
What always pissed me off was that Lincoln never tried to put the power that the Escalade had, in the navigator. They had it but never used it.
Well, Lincoln isn't pretending to be a performance brand like Cadillac has been for the last 20 years or so. But still. In a vehicle this size I don't think anyone is going to complain about more power.
This sounds like the kind of vehicle RCR would drive.
You can’t bolt a solid steel roof rack directly into the frame of this thing and the engine wasn’t developed in 2001, so probably not.
Possibly my favourite intro dialog you've ever done. Fantastic.
I'm sorry, I just can't help but think "ooo, someone called a *fancy* Uber!"
Now this is the RCR we love and the RCR we want. Yes please.
Thanks, you have a nice week too Mr. Regular Cars.
The official car of.... Uh.... Navigation...!
Lincoln Navigator Reserve L.
The official car of freshly minted grandparents who spent more time at the lake in their mid-20s through early 40s than they did with their children's upbringing. The same people who of a sudden can't keep their grubby hands off the grandbabies because "I jUsT LLLLLAAAAAAAWWWWWVVVVVEEEE kiDS!"
However, the voice inside your head knows well enough that not only are they trying to make up for lost time, you also know they want to gaslight you into thinking they were good parents, so when their flame is extinguished and it's their turn to be ushered into the chamber of memories, their legacy is solidified.
But you know their legacy is about as solid as the build quality of the Ford Fusion Titanium they traded for this behemoth, which is now the same size as the lie they're desperately trying to cover up.
You ok, bro?
@@dauntae24 not really, but it has nothing to do with this.
Most luxurious anything Mr Regular has ever reviewed
I left Pennsylvania when I was 8 years old and Wawa was my favorite treat after school, an adult now living in LA, hearing they took away my favorite sandwich? UNFORGIVABLE!
As an european i gotta say i've always liked these. Very american, but not as insane as navigators
"Are they people who really matter? Are they YOU?"
Mic drop moment
Nice review! We already knew about the vehicle; now we know about the buyer.
Totally agree with your last statement.... i'm just an average guy with an average income.. i bought a newer model S-Class Mercedes Benz as as splurge for a reasonable price. I hide the damn thing....I don't take it to work incase my coworkers were to see it, I make sure the neighbors aren't out or even the mailman isn't on the street before i even decide to take it out of the garage incase somebody were to see me in a vehicle that i zero business being in on paper. But at the end of the day, i can afford it, and the maintenance that comes along with it, so why not enjoy a little bit of comfort, even if its is my own little secret.
"pouring one out for the flipper zero. Scamming MFF and Lincoln dealerships alike"
We rented a expedition recently and maaan that ecoboost aint no joke
They really push those engines for horsepower! Makes me doubt the longevity of them though
Its so nice, my mkz really made me love lincolns, i have an 08 hope to get a newer one someday. Prob gonna get a 22 hrv until then though, i need something better on gas atm 😅
Mr Reg, thanks for your wisdom @ 15:15 .... and the car review, too.
Another interesting video and analysis, I always wondered about how the Navigator was created.
aah yes, the lincoln navagator. Not to be confused with the navigator.
It’s perfect vehicle to drive people to the airport
bingo! I have one in my 'black car' fleet and passengers love it.
I have one of these. Mine has had nothing but issues, it’s comfy. But with only 68k miles on it it’s already had to have the engine completely rebuilt due to lifter failure. The reverse camera has been replaced 3 times and the lower control arms 2 times. Don’t buy one. The windshield is a rock magnet I’ve had to replace the whole thing like 6 times.
The car is great the powertrain is not. It’s faster than it has any reason to be, but the engine is problematic.
I’ve never noticed that these had push button transmissions! I mean it makes sense with the Lincoln Continental of the same year having that feature. I guess I always assumed these had the Ford shift knob like in a Fusion, or a console shift like in an F-150
If i see that on the jobsite I know the owner is there, baller
The Lincoln has the raptor engine and it’s 450 hp
Fun fact in the Lincoln navigator the little cubby hole closest to the driver is for his Kimber 1911
Let's not forget the short-lived Chrysler Aspen
My WWII vet grandpa that drove semis and did construction work bought one of these

I would to see you tackle the VW Atlas next. I've seen a *lot* of those on the road lately! Might be worthy to call it... "A regular car" 😁
Great review. Honestly just a Ford EcoVan with a tux and bow-tie, a varsity quarterback at the prom. Too bad Lincoln doesn't make a sedan version of this.
Lincoln made the Continental and nobody bought it.
Hell yeah, new car review.
It's Monday again!
That new Road Glide CVO going by at the end was nice!
The best common chocolate milk is Darigold Old Fashioned.
Thanks Mr. R. Have a nice week too.
Love the closing comments on this. Great advice for anyone!
I coulda sworn the original thumbnail said “navagator” instead of navigator earlier today
Most of the 'real' old Hemi cars did mid-14s and so does this damn thing. That's ridiculous. I understand that AWD, traction control, and IMMENSELY better tires are a thing, but seriously, it's crazy.
Is it true that Regular Car Reviews is / was the dean of the English department at HACC?!?

What's wrong with wanting nice things?
Nothing. Being mad at people for wanting nice things is actually jealousy of those who have nice things.
5:33 the Lincoln Town car (and I think older Continentals sat 6. Also, It looks like that Navi seats 7.
I rather like the looks of these Lincoln Navigators and they drive nice as well. Thank you for reviewing one of these.
It is a bummer to hear that the engine on these is so temperamental and that it was not designed better. I seriously doubt any rental car company with these Lincolns is doing oil changes that frequently.
That interior really does look nice by any standard.
I have a Gen 1 3.5 ecoboost in my 2011 F150 - 206K miles with oil change semi synthetic at 4K intervals. No issues :)
