While I'm here I'll give you some other details from the book (interview of Webber, the lead actress). She says the director told her they were going to do a remake of Rebecca! During filming she got the feeling some things were being let go (ie, her hair in getting in someone's face and not re-shot). They were paid $1000 a week for 2 weeks and a percentage (they never got their percentage--lawyers got in the way). She was 3 months pregnant. Mostly she wasn't happy with the way her hair looked.

Can anyone else agree one of the best saving graces for this movie is Mickey? I feel like he was one of the better written characters in "The Screaming Skull", given his feelings of sadness about Marion's murder at Eric's hands, and how he likely knows Eric is the one who did it and would do it to Jenni. Sure, it was a different time, *BUT* people with developmental disabilities like Mickey (and myself) are capable of doing and knowing a lot.
Considering that Mickey was played by The Screaming Skull's director Alex Nicol I'm guessing the character may have had some personal significance to him. I also agree with the sympathy angle; he could have played Mickey as a Renfield-type of lunatic but instead gave him a lot of pathos. ...but still, Mickey, GET A BOX!
I always feel a little bad for Mickey. He's the one who knows what's going on and no one will listen to him. A classic horror movie character, sure, but uniquely difficult to watch here, I think.

No matter how many times I tried to click off of it, I would always come back to it by skipping other videos. All videos lead to Mystery Science Theater 3000, 912: The Screaming Skull.
the sci-fi episodes are the absolute cream of the crop mst3k wise. The riffing was so strong, and Mike Kevin and Bill worked so well together ( as is evidenced by them continuing to do so ) Even Mike himself in the past has said "the sci-fi era is the best work we've ever done" -I love Joel-but I don't see how anyone thinks his era was better-it was so crude in comparison and the riffing was so sparse. I actually kind of see each era (Joel, Mike cm and Mike sf) as its own seperate tv show.
So, I guess we're supposed to wonder if Jenny's imagining it, or it's real, or if Eric or someone else is doing it to drive her crazy, but hell, it's all so boring I can't be bothered to care.

“Remember folks if you die of boredom you do *not* get a free coffin, sorry.”
Now remember, you can only get a free coffin if you die of fright- not boredom
Long story. It has to do with how I recorded the shows, edited the commercials out, converted my VHS tapes to DVD, ripped the DVDs, then uploaded the MP4 videos. It would take a scientist to explain it, but I'm a doctor. Actually, I'm a gynecologist, but this is my lunch hour.
We see where all the budget went for the movie when an original Gullwing smg Mercedes pulls up. End of movie, everyone go home. Good job. The Screaming Skull, the end.
"I blend in only with myself". Good goddess. I am already giggling. Holy hell, thanks MST3K
"They put a tiny bit of movie in a box and filled the rest with foam peanuts."
The dead wife posed for "Little Debbie" snacks.

With all the mean things the bots have done to Mike, I think they had this coming to them.
Does anyone else notice that the more you watch MST3K, the harder is it to tell if someone is actually an ok actor or if MST3K has totally warped your standards for acting? Because I kind of think the actress playing Jenny is pretty good.
She took some abuse from another MST movie but she is pretty good here, while often stuck in motionless scenes
Yes, she was also in "The Space Children", with the creepy kids and the blob from space, which is only a few episodes before this.
Thanks for posting! I enjoyed it. This was a B-Version of "Gaslight".
More like the C- or D-version
This is one of my most favorite MST3K episodes ever, along with Giant Spider Invasion and Eegah!
Thanks for posting.
The skull would later get a job singing the theme song for Star Trek: The Original Series.
You changed star trek for me... For the better. Lol
Wait so rich Evans is the skull 💀
Flat drab passion meanders across the screen, and then the film breaks and it's horrible. But what do you expect from Windows '58?
Crow (as Mrs. Gumby): That squares my breasts!
Mike (As Mr. Gumby): Thank goodness for internal genitalia!
28:25 When Crow yells, "GET A BOX!" I laugh every time.
49:25 "Well all right. I guess I'll just go around back and use the pet door."
51:17 "Gandalf's outside, scratching things on the door."
Just want to say thank you for hosting so many of these great Misties! I dont know how much work is actually involved in getting these up here but I know it's a lot more than I'm doing just sitting and watching....so thank you for that!!
I miss Dr. Forrester and TV's Frank... *sigh*
They were fantastic but so is Mrs. F, Brain guy, and Bobo!
I'm here because TH-cam recommended this video to me, by literally driving it down my metaphorical throat multiple times. No matter how many times I tried to click off of it, I would always come back to it by skipping other videos. All videos lead to Mystery Science Theater 3000, 912: The Screaming Skull.
Butterfly Tom Servo is adorable!! I want one!
Hes adorable!! Want one too!!👽
Gumby Robot Rumpus! My favorite MST3K short!
I think her husband is gone for most of the movie because he got a letter from his dead wife asking him to come to Silent Hill...
Martin Luther is nailing all 95 Theses individually.
"I'm pleasant but I have issues" would be at the top of my dating profile if I had one
"Alas poor yorick she threw him well". As a lover of literature I keeled over laughing at that point.
Foreshadowing for their Hamlet episode
"It was a rainy day. Then he shot her."
Crow: MAN, he just scooped his stool up and just threw it at her!!
😆 Crow may have gone too far after that, BUT props for the timing!
the sci-fi episodes are the absolute cream of the crop mst3k wise.
Oh, there's an interesting approach. I see what you mean. They do have very different moods and methods.
Now we even have Jonah! :D
The riffs on this episode is top 10 mst3k. Funny stuff.
"I'm so bipolar sometimes," is one of my favorite jokes of all time.
So, I guess we're supposed to wonder if Jenny's imagining it, or it's real, or if Eric or someone else is doing it to drive her crazy, but hell, it's all so boring I can't be bothered to care.
Chida Gamer he was trying to convince her she was imagining it. She really saw it.
he's so fine he blows my mind... poor mickey. lost it at that for some reason XD
My all-time FAVORITE MST3K. There are many good ones, but this one is simply the one I like best! I am always happy when it's posted.
Fun fact: this was the first movie to be filmed using half as much film as movies of similar length. To overcome this great disadvantage, the editor slowed the entire movie down to half the original speed, but he did such a good job hat nobody noticed the long, drawn out moments.
Nobody except mike and crow and servo 😂
