shit, can't believe I missed that, the funny thing was, as I was editing, I was thinking how one day i'll fuck up the audio part of the edit (it's the first thing I edit, followed by transitions then art and effects then the actual background video). I've seen the finished product like 5 times to check for mistakes to! gah lol well spotted bud, at least it wasn't one where I stammered then shouted "oh ffs" :D
Xaine's World Ahaha don't worry about it dude, great video BTW. What's really funny is I barely noticed it - I had to rewind to confirm that my brain wasn't having a meltdown lol. You really made me question my sanity for a moment x'D.
I've only played through once but I mained the Ushior w tracking grenades and had so much fun. Reinstalling to try the plasma charge. Thanks for the great vid!
Thanks so much for all these guides. So many on yt and other sites just wrap 'best weapon' suggestions in personal opinion with no real testing. Your scientific approach is fantastic, and I look forward to seeing more from you.
I'm a big fan of the Ushior, I load mine up with double mod augment, +20%dmg w/ health/shields full, and the rest Kinetic Coils, and I basically load it up with barrel, clip, receiver, scope mods and use the thing as a pocket sniper rifle. For those loading it up with the Shield Osc aug, just put it in your chest instead, and you'll get the 25% shield on kill instead of clip empty. And I still use an AR (Avenger w/seeking plasma) and Shotty (Piranha w/ bio-converter), but now use this pistol as a sniper rifle.
You've got by far the most informative videos I've seen on the subject and I appreciate it all. As someone who once wrote a 220 page guide on playing a game before and feels your pain of having to replicate the same actions 100 times with slight differences to see the returns I give you mad props. lol great job bud
Lol Galaxy on Fire Alliances it was a space rtsmmo mobile game every single aspect of the game was broken down with full illustrations and tactics to maximize every single aspect of the game. It was like the mobile version of eve online
I found that if you are an Infiltrator or Explorer Build, that several pistols equipped with a scope, penetrating receiver, bio converter and shield mod that restores your shield, is just about a good as a sniper rifle, only with much more ammo per clip which means you will not need to spam a tech skill to regain health all that much. Pistols have an amazing range also when you put a scope on them. Yep a pistol can be great fun in this game. A pistol in one hand and lance in the other.....poor Kett do not have a chance........Grin!! Cheers!!
Great to know about the Ushior. I tried to make it a pocket sniper but with the vintage heat sink. Its range was disastrous. Reload/recharge was also so bad that the high hit damage was not worth the pain of the drop in dps. Thanks for another fantastic vid! You're helping me improve my kit so much just by testing the things I don't have time or don't think of testing.
Basing it a lot on prior ME games, I find that a pistol makes a good filler for those augments that aid the class build; not just the weapon. As mentioned in the vid, bonuses to Powers and/ or effects are recommended (like bonuses to Combos myself).
Great video!! I really enjoy the carnifex (headshot damage is very solid for a sidearm), but I'll revisit using the phalanx. I had completely written off the ushio b/c it was single shot, but I'll definitely give it another chance with the plasma charge (wowza that damage). It's weight is a little prohibitive for a sidearm though.
Thank you :) and Carniflex is satisfying in it's damage for sure, if you're someone who enjoys taking the second to aim the shot, then Carniflex is the way to go for sidearms, but if you want to improve the reflexes and get better with the aiming, the Phalanx can help with that. I was surprised with the Ushior myself, I had also written it off, but when I started doing these guide, the comments were often mentioning it's viability. The weight is a pain aye, it's the main drawback, dependant on it's performance in some tests I want to do with the Dhan it may or may not be the best heavy shotter.
Carniflex Carnifex, Potahto Potato. C'est la vie! Love your vids, super useful for those of us who want to save our research and materials for the good stuff.
Coolio, I might be doing that face off with ushior vs dhan soonish so if I do ill let you know, both are good for tech build as both are great with bio if you can handle the pain
I just went through legendary with an Ushior w/ bio converter, double mod, kinetic coil and tech recharge. I took energy drain, incinerate and biotic charge, took all of the health regen skills and took the recharge speed for biotic charge, and then put on the fusion mod that halves recharge time (at the cost of 15% weapon damage though). The result is basically infinite sustain even on legendary plus ridiculous damage output from the ushior.
I used the Dhan based on your shotgun comparison video with my Infiltrator. Absolutely ridiculous with all of the buffs + Tactical Cloak. As soon as the build was complete, it made Insanity a cake-walk. I also had a blast with the plasma seeking mod on the Dhan vs. Architects; the damage is lowered significantly so I wouldn't recommend it against regular enemies, but it made the Architect fights barely worth worrying about. All of this to say, I'm excited to see the Ushior/Dhan faceoff!
Great vid man. On one of your previous vid's I bragged about how awesome the carnifex was with the plasma charge system, then I noticed this pistol. It's been my best friend ever since. I've only been able to get it up to 3 shots per clip, but I use vintage heat sync so it's not too big a deal I guess. Thanks for the vid and all your hard work!
Personal view Phalanx > Carnifex Slot 1: 25% shield on reload or Power Dmg W/ Full clip for pistols. Slot 2: Weapon dmg or Power damage Slot 3: DME 4/5 are same as 2. Bio Convert is an option for 1 as well, on the right build.
i got a new level of appreciation for these set of videos now that i realized how insanely tedious would be to go back and forth at the researcher either to the colony or back to the ship to make the weapons (even more thinking you went around to find all the mods and stuff for them) and go back to ambush point for every single weapon (specially since you have several variations for some weapons) ...DUDE..you got my respect :O Fuck them for not having a shooting range or a holographic simulation or whatever on the ship (i smell a dlc)...in fact that is the main reason that i never bothered much with the weapons because i couldn't know what i was making before i was under attack only to find out my weapon was crap..i spend all resources that i had at the time to make a black widow and added a ricochet mod thinking how awesome it would be even if i miss i would have even few chances the bullet bounce back to the back of an enemies head after hitting a wall behind him only to find out when i shot that my bullet didnt even go there..it fell 1/3 or 1/4 of the way down and bounced a couple of times on the ground and the enemy didnt even notice i fired at him...fucking damn it.
+koel700 appreciate it bud :) glad you're finding the videos helpful. The Black Widow is a good weapon but it shines with no projectile modifying augments, so no plasma, grenade, ricochet, seeking etc
Yea, the Ushior is definitely a pocket Shotgun trading weight/damage for ammo capacity. That said, I prefer the Carnifex. It seems to have a higher force than other pistols since it'll actually stagger enemies, buying more time unless you're aiming for an outright kill. And the predator has a use... The very first mission, where it's literally the only gun you have.
AFAIK, you need to be holding the weapon for the power boosters to have an effect, unless it's the melee weapon (Why the Asari Sword is insanely good. Why yes, I would like +15% weapon damage all the time, or +10% shield and armor power damage bonus with +3% weapon damage.) I mean, unless you want to be holding it all the time.
aye that would be it's purpose, switch to it when using powers like, I'm not very familiar with hardcore power users so that may not be something that's really worth it. And yes, love the asari sword :D
my computer died - I'll be back on next week, or, 2 weeks at the latest. thanks for the continued vids! much appreciated :) I was rockin the Ush' with a 2 shot mag. early game - not nearly as useful as other mag. / ammo augs. I still haven't played around with augs as much as you have, haven't even touched grenade launchers. Last play session I was stickin with shield oscillator cause my shield recharge is more of an issue for me than health regen (RemTech.VI), and I dislike pausing midcombat to eat a shield recharge thingy, damn vendor trash. OMG - more powerful than the Dhan? I've tried Dhan builds and I honestly prefer a shotgun to be firing shot rather than slugs, having my heavy hitting mid-long ranged weaps an SR and Ushior. Phalanx - rock that in multiplayer. stock weapon, comes with every character, best from lvls 1 - 10! Is there much of a multiplayer base..?
I've had good luck with the Ushior and Rebalanced Field Coils. The buff to the last 20% of the mag is always active with a 1 round mag. As for mods, stack the variant mods that give you a larger boost at the cost of reduced magazine, as it can't go below 1 anyway. If you have the pistol skill that improves your reload speed, the time between shots is not much worse than what you get with 2 shots in the mag.
Xaine's World I made 2 level 2 Ushiors one with Rebalanced Field Coils, one with nothing. I got my party killed, and tested them against the shields on an anointed. For whatever reason, the anointed was staying in one spot and not shooting at me, so I had a perfect opportunity to test shots from the same spot. The one with the coil consistently did higher damage.
Holy crap thanks. I've been using Ushior as my third weapon. At first, I put the Sticky Grenade with Double Mod and 2 Kinetic Coil. And doing research, I found no information on the internet about anything. I had to post a question up. Somebody told me the Sticky Grenade lowers damage. So I tried it with Plasma Charge instead. Still using the Double Mod, 2 Kinetic Coil. But have been unsure if it would be better without the Plasma Charge, and just using the default projectile. But despite looking all over doing research, there's no information on anything. Good to see it actually works well. I would thumbs up this, but the method of communication in this video is mumbling. However, I won't give it thumbs down despite the poor communication method of mumbling.
+Ecruos Edoc haha, was I really mumbling? I think it's just my accent bud, I take multiple take to speak as clearly as poss, my throat gets ruined half way through so maybe that had an effect? Feedback is always good!
great vid mate ! side question - why should some bother with pistols when you have shotguns and AR for close range ? both with much) bigger punch & accuracy... somehow, pistols are redundant since you get no edges .... anyway, thks for ur effort to clarify all this.
Pistols do have a use for sure, like semi automatic are super light mostly and are a good backup that may not push you over another weight limit, those who don't use vintage or bio's have use for this. SMG's are almost on parr with AR's yet they're a lot lighter, great for power users. So for the most part, it's the weight thing.
fair enough, maybe I was feeling that bc I reach level 60 and I never run on over-weight problems - just used a double-mod and dump there an light materials mod... problem solved :p but u right, weight save may be an advantage for some builds..
I run a semi-auto AR (Mattock or Sandstorm) for medium-long to medium-close range engagements in groups where I need a decent magazine to be effective. I run a heavy hitting sniper (Black Widow or Isharay) for longer range engagements when I want to punish people without being touched. For this reason I run a heavy pistol (the Ushior with a Vintage Heat Sink and the Plasma Charge System as mentioned in the video for when people get too close and I need to put them down quick. It really depends on what gaps in your range you need to fill. Running the M8, Revnant, or the Thokin, might better fill this close role at the cost of suffering in the medium-long range engagements. Shotguns work too, but the lack of accuracy and range, in combination with being usually heavier is a turn-off for some. Boils down to personal preference honestly.
well, I'm working on the melee weps atm, full of mathematics that one, then armour, then while I'm not fully commited to an order, I'm going to revisit the augments vids and do a full coverage of them with everything new that ive learned while testing and playing including stuff like what clashes with what etc. Also want to make some specific loadouts for specific enemies, like a full architect build with skills, profile and weps and other fun stuff. Then some profile builds suited for playstyles based on mostly fun but also practicality. gotta continue the livestream when I get chance to as I still have insanity to do after ive done normal. AVP needs a thorough going over then there's also multiplayer, some have asked for strike teams info. Sure there's more I'm missing off the top of my head, but yeah, no shortage of things to do.
When it comes to melee, it's gonna be hard to justify the use of anything but the Asari Sword. It's OP as fuck, with its invincibility frames. But I'm stoked to see your other content! I've loved your series thus far.
+Captain Lackwit don't count the rest out just yet, the asari is great, but the krogan hits multiple enemies, cry-gauntlet cryo primes the targets and stuns red bars for a good few seconds, firaan is super fast etc etc, lots of different variables :)
Because of the high damage it can do, I run it with the explorer profile and for my abilities I run Biotic charge, Tactical cloak and turbocharge and I can pop big groups in the blink of an eye.
If you take Combat cloak as your last upgrade you can land more than 1 shot with the bonus dmg so you can output alot of dmg combined with turbocharge and all the bonus passives that you get for more dmg. I play this on insanity and I can 2 shot a Anointed. And also for the build you need the adrenaline mod on your armor to reset all your cooldowns when you kill an enemy so you can perma go invisible + charge
I also missed the Paladin, until I started getting one shot kills from sniper range with the Ushior. That was in multiplayer, no augments, no scope. That was when I started crafting the Ushior for single player.
I find pistols waste of a weapon slots. Melee weapon - Asari sword for mobility; W1 - Remnant Inferno for the warrior sniper; W2 - Black Widow as Assassin sniper; W3 - Sweeper as endless ammo assault rifle as a backup weapon or if enemies get close; W4 - Dhan for Vanguard favorite (normally soldier) because I find it best in your face weapon. SO, I use melee + 2 snipers and an assault rifle (sometimes swap 1 sniper for Shotgun if going Vanguard BUT you can choose to get the ability to carrd 4 weapons if you wish)
Honestly, with all this work in building such optimal weapons, how do you feel about the difficulty in the game? It could just be NG+, but I kinda expected more from Insanity, I just point the Thokin and things die. Would you have any "Most fun" ways to play? I recall a segment in the shotguns video "A valid method to progress insanity but no fun at all"
lol i run a NG+ easy insanity only use sidewinder with bio converter, receiver mod and infiltrator profile, feel like cheater with wall hack and wall bang, common mobs doesn't have a chance to defend
tbh, I think the game is a little too easy, but you can play to your difficulty and make it more fun by being different levels of reckless. I plan to do an insanity run once I've completed my normal, but I fear it won't be very difficult as i'll have such uberred up builds. My Dhan makes things super easy like ridiculous on normal, so I add the run and gun approach where I'm being shot by 12 kett at the same time to keep things fun and increase the difficulty a little. Some setups are just OP for sure, I mean you could just play the entire game doing nothing but Snipes from far away with cloak and a beast mode isharay and one shot everything in insanity, but it wouldn't be very fun. So yeah, just adjust your playstyle a little, be more reckless, it's fun, and more challenging.
Remove sniper and melee everything, got it, thanks! Jokes aside, I appreciate the advice very much. I should stop gimping myself and just do risky stuff for the fun of it! I should check out your full play, kinda shameful I havn't already
no, you maybe mistaken NG+ at lvl 70+ insanity isharay only can one shot red bar enemies if hit weak point or headshot, body shot just take 1/4 health or shield, still challenging especialy with bio converter but other semi sniper (gay gun) like inferno solve the problems when bio converter trigger give you about +50% rate of fire for 3 or 4 shots
+Biff Bash Bosh - I kinda need to get back on it hehe, been a week since I've played the game without just testing things. +Son Tran - I have no idea what one shots what on insanity at lvl 70, it was an exaggerated example, no doubt there are builds and skill combos that make things super easy at that level, I was referencing that as a whole as apposed to a specific weapon.
Do you still have the thing in this game where slow-firing weapons are better for taking down armor? I plan on going full biotic with a good smg so maybe something like the phalanx would be a nice backup? Especially if i want to start the engagement at range or if i want to play a bit more conservatively.
if you're going for an SMG as main you might want to focus more on an anti armor type weapon, so maybe a piranha or Dhan, that might push you weight up though but out of the 2, armour while less frequent is far more trouble, if I could only take one weapon it would be my Dhan, its amazing against armour but also overpowers shields. So if you can take the weight, a Dhan (not bad range, better than most shotguns) for main and an equalizer, if not then Dhan and a Phalanx. But it largely comes down to preference, that is just what id go with atm. The slow fire thing I would say is coincidence in either that Shotguns are best against armour and they tend to be slow fire rate and or that slow fire rate is usually offset by high damage so it may look like its doing more,
Thank you! Shotguns aren't my favorite but that sounds like it would be really useful so I'll definitely try it out. Good thing you can respec a bunch in this game, huh? There's also incendiary ammo, but I guess it's best not to rely so much on consumables.
consumables aren't hard to get a hold of if you don't mind refreshing a bunch, my final builds for insanity will utilize consumables a large amount of the time for big guys like architects and destroyers
I just got Gold Pistol Mastery in the multiplayer and the Carnifex was at least serviceable on bronze. The Phalanx was just garbage: 3-5 shots or more to take down a mook on bronze. It was such a grind getting 140k points with it. I would hate to think if I hadn't unlocked the Ushior and to use the Predator. LOL
I played this game through with Carniflex as my mian gun. =P But scopes? in my opinnion, it is a waste of a slot. even if it would not take a slot, I would not recomend it at Carni at least.
That's one of the great parts about this game, all guns are actually usable, you can complete the game with any gun, some will make it easier other more difficult, but its not like they're uselss or the only choices, fun and general preference is the main choosing factor really :)
In about play through six now......I like the Carniflex(think that is how you spill that) No research points required, and good damage, ammo, clip size etc. I have tried the Bio Converter on several weapons including the Isharay Sniper. For me on single player Hard Mode, it for me eats up more than five percent of your health when it reloads. So for me eight shots from the Isharay will kill me if I do not stop and throw a Tech skill, and you can toss Incinerate at the sky if you want and it will generate health......but it is a pain having to do so all the time as for me the Bio Converter simply eats up more than five percent of my health. And yes I have Team Tech maxed out, Combat fitness and tools also maxed out.......as a matter of fact I have unused skill points with no real purpose to use them as all things I really want are maxed out............Tried the Heat Sink on a couple weapons and gosh......forget that the weapon overheats and there you stand unable to fire........ The only mod and it is a mod I really like is the Fusion Mod of Adrenalin........kill an enemy with incineratre or Overload and you have instant recharge .........if you need it........kill and enemy while in tactical cloak and you can use tactical cloak over and over and over as long as you kill something ............ Thing is once you hit around level 25 or so and max out your weapon trees, and if you use Mustang armor that gives you more ammo......you will never run out of ammo so why worry about it. Late game with your own tech skills providing health and with Cora providing constant shield regeneration.......well there is no need to play with weapons and I find it more a benefit to have my health than have a weapon eating it up. I have killed myself with the Bio Converter not paying attention to my health, and I watch it when the clip refills and for me it takes about 15 percent of my health. Tried it various ways, various builds and it does eat up much more than 5 percent. Also although I prefer the Black Widow to the Isharay.....do be aware the Black Widow even with the penetration receiver will not pass through even a box......where as the Isharay will shoot through a rock...........but hey no fear........my Tech powers can wipe out an entire camp with the Fusion Mod of Adrenaline. I like Health........I play on Hard Mode and cutting my Health is dangerous......Grin. Cheers!!
+Kit Carson You've got some pretty good insight there, this guide is slightly outdated as there weren't fire system augs at the time and the beam emitter was still terrible then, also guns have been balanced a little since, I have more up to date ones that cover all weapons, also made some calculators you might like playing with, the single player calc is www.xainesworld.com/spwepcalc/ also it's actually Carnifex, I said it incorrectly for the entire video lol
Also need a sturdy mouse :P . This build is what got me off the carnifex, though. Its per-shot damage is satisfying, but its low RoF has always been frustrating for me, even with the RoF aug and turbocharge. In the time it takes to get off 2 carnifex shots, you've gotten off 8 phalanx shots :P
Got a Naga Chroma, so it's fairly sturdy, and yeah that's my only gripe with the carnifex, I really like it's satisfying shot, but it's a little too slow
If I could find the plasma charge augment, I'd craft an Ushior! Does anyone know where to find it? I researched it once and sold it before I knew how powerful it was.
+Tucker Hazel how is the clip size with level 9 mag mod and Max soldier profile and combat clip size skills? My estimate would have it go to 2 at X, not trying to be arsey, just seems logical to have a round number at top tier, if that is the case with all mods and buffs it would be more than 4
No worries, you can't test everything to this extent. I'm on my 3rd play through and at level 102 so I'm happy to help. With a level 10 mag mod, a level 5 soldier profile, and the clip size skill in pistols and in combat fitness, both the VHS and non-VHS Ushiors have a 2 round clip capacity. I doubt the extra 5% clip capacity gained from a level 5 soldier to level 6 would push over the threshold (assuming some rounding is used to determine clip size), but it could. If so, the max could be 3, but probably only on the non-VHS version. P.S. The VHS magazine penalty, from what I have gathered, is ± 44%.
Agreed, I expected more of an increase for the points required. That being said I can definitely see it as a necessary balancing factor. Let me know if you need anything else checked.
Actually, there is something I need, 4 sets of numbers, I need the damage of any melee weapon at rank 1, 5, 6 and 10, it doesn't matter what skills or profile you have set, it's the increase per rank i'm measuring just to confirm whether it is consistent or on a curve. No worries if you don't have the time etc, but would be very helpful if you get the chance (writing and doing test work etc for the melee weapon vid atm, just don't have access to the rank 10 stuff)
+Braca Ganon not so much requires to actually have, but with some small clip sizes, the regeneration from those skills will keep you alive, I more didn't want to point people towards a weapon that could kill them all the time without a way to sustainably use it
the pathfinder weps? if so ive been avoiding them due to the augment glitch where you cant getem back, don't want to recommend to someone incase they build it without knowing
I've stayed clear of specific builds as that speaks to very few people, but I have vids planned for entire builds with full loadouts, so that's where that will come into play
+crimsondemonx working on the last E3 vid atm, then it's all out mass effect Andromache update starting with DPS charts for the auto fire augment, should be interesting
+crimsondemonx Aye, not dead, just sleepin' xD there's lots of games I want to play and will play, but when updates and new stuff in general is introduced to mass effect Andromeda, you can bet I'll cover it :)
The Ushior is both good and very bad, depending on the situation. With extended clip both in the pistol tree and with a mod that increases clip size you get 4 shots. With plasma charge on the weapon you can punch right through an Ascendants shield and kill him and not even worry about the shield, but.........without four shots it is hopeless as the Ascendant will regenerate while you try to reload and fire as the fire rate and reload speed really sucks. Against enemies such as Destroyers and Hydra also the fire rate and reload speed will leave you hanging . However against open world enemies like the Kett etc, etc it is a great pistol, but it is also a heavy weapon and to carry it in your load out will hinder you and cause you frustration against high damage enemies simply due to the very slow fire rate and reload speeds. It also greatly depends on what character build you play as, I love the Adept profile and love being a bionic god......and for this build this is the worst pistol in the game as those few situations where bionics are weak, such as against a Destroyer, this thing will get you killed........but if you play such as a Soldier profile then the Ushior is very good. You can weather the damage recieved while you fumble about trying to reload and fire again. Lots to learn in this game, so the Ushior is both the best and the worst pistol depending on your profile in use. It shines if you leave the clip size alone, leave it with one shot in the clip and put bio converter, plasma charge, and shield oscillator on it and play as one using Tech skills. So the best and the worst depends on your play profile greatly. For me as an Adept the best of the best seems to be the Sidewinder with plasma seeking on it as I can take cover and fire away with a high fire rate, and as it is a backup only I never have ammo issues and there are ammo boxes everywhere. Such as the two Hydra in Liam's loyalty mission(how many of you think Liam is a fool......grin) that is a confined quarters area with junk in the way and it is hard to use cover, so a high fire rate is much better. In conclusion I gave up on pistols completely for an Adept and carry a Piranha with seeking plasma system because it will stagger lock high damage enemies and eat them for lunch. Pistols were good in such as Soldier, Infiltrator, Explorer etc......but for an Adept.......go with a shotgun. Cheers!!
+Kit Carson now that was a comment! The game has actually had updates that changed the Ushior's clip size since this guide was made as well as changes to various other weapons, for a fully up to date guide that encompasses several hundred hour of research, checkout the Ultimate Weapons guide, it's the latest and last guide in the MEA tips and guides playlist. With the addition of fire system augments the Hornet just destroys all competition when paired with the bio converter and automatic fire system, it's just insane for a pistol, the only situation another pistol is better is at AOE and that goes to the Talon, I forget what augment combo but I think it's with plasma charge as it's technically a pistol but acts as a shotgun it ignores the shotgun needs in that augment, either way the Talon and Hornet builds are in that video. You may also find these 2 calculators I've built useful. www.xainesworld.com/spwepcalc/ www.xainesworld.com/mpwepcalc/ 2 exceptionally detailed DPS calculators that taken every possible wep buff into account, all data is fully up to date and taken directly from the game files. If you have any questions about them and the math behindem, let me know
I'm not MLG for sure :), my aim goes to shit super quick when i'm hitting the same mob in the same place for the (not joking with this number) 100th+ time
You have two different takes of the same bit comparing the Dhan and the Ushior in there at about 14:50 x'D
shit, can't believe I missed that, the funny thing was, as I was editing, I was thinking how one day i'll fuck up the audio part of the edit (it's the first thing I edit, followed by transitions then art and effects then the actual background video).
I've seen the finished product like 5 times to check for mistakes to! gah lol
well spotted bud, at least it wasn't one where I stammered then shouted "oh ffs" :D
Your scientific approach is fantastic, and I look forward to seeing more from you.
aaw thank you, that's super nice to hear :D
I shall not let yer down!
That's Thokin' awesome!.... ooooooh that was cringy wasn't it.... ooooh time for a lie down..... ooooh
+Brian Wagner Great shout on the oscillator in chest!
You've got by far the most informative videos I've seen on the subject and I appreciate it all. As someone who once wrote a 220 page guide on playing a game before and feels your pain of having to replicate the same actions 100 times with slight differences to see the returns I give you mad props. lol great job bud
Thanks man, much appreciated :)
Also 220 pages??? I gotta know which game that is
Lol Galaxy on Fire Alliances it was a space rtsmmo mobile game every single aspect of the game was broken down with full illustrations and tactics to maximize every single aspect of the game.
+Hunter Spence great to hear!
Great info, as I had just about given up on using a pistol at higher lvls. Well done!
Guess I'm gonna go with the Ushior for my tech build in that case. Great video, thanks!
Bathrobe Warrior : Holy shit that sounds awesome. I'm gonna set that up for a test run tonight for sure.
awesome, awesome and awesome xD
Great vid man. On one of your previous vid's I bragged about how awesome the carnifex was with the plasma charge system, then I noticed this pistol. It's been my best friend ever since. I've only been able to get it up to 3 shots per clip, but I use vintage heat sync so it's not too big a deal I guess. Thanks for the vid and all your hard work!
aah cool and which pistol do you mean or were you still referring to the Carnifex?
Oh no, I was referring to the Ushior. Once I hit lvl 70+ the carnifex just couldn't stand up anymore with the plasma charge system
+wayne Jacobs aaah coolio, tis a beast that ushior :)
You aren't kidding With plasma charge close range charged up, I'm still killing mobs with a single shot on hardcore
+wayne Jacobs haha, awesome!
Personal view Phalanx > Carnifex
Slot 1: 25% shield on reload or Power Dmg W/ Full clip for pistols.
Slot 2: Weapon dmg or Power damage
Slot 3: DME
4/5 are same as 2. Bio Convert is an option for 1 as well, on the right build.
i got a new level of appreciation for these set of videos now that i realized how insanely tedious would be to go back and forth at the researcher either to the colony or back to the ship to make the weapons (even more thinking you went around to find all the mods and stuff for them) and go back to ambush point for every single weapon (specially since you have several variations for some weapons) ...DUDE..you got my respect :O
Fuck them for not having a shooting range or a holographic simulation or whatever on the ship (i smell a dlc)...in fact that is the main reason that i never bothered much with the weapons because i couldn't know what i was making before i was under attack only to find out my weapon was crap..i spend all resources that i had at the time to make a black widow and added a ricochet mod thinking how awesome it would be even if i miss i would have even few chances the bullet bounce back to the back of an enemies head after hitting a wall behind him only to find out when i shot that my bullet didnt even go there..it fell 1/3 or 1/4 of the way down and bounced a couple of times on the ground and the enemy didnt even notice i fired at him...fucking damn it.
+koel700 appreciate it bud :) glad you're finding the videos helpful.
The Black Widow is a good weapon but it shines with no projectile modifying augments, so no plasma, grenade, ricochet, seeking etc
thank you :)
The very first mission, where it's literally the only gun you have.
if only the m-3 was ultra rare, it would be very useful for hosting power bumping augments in exchange for 4 weight
AFAIK, you need to be holding the weapon for the power boosters to have an effect, unless it's the melee weapon (Why the Asari Sword is insanely good. Why yes, I would like +15% weapon damage all the time, or +10% shield and armor power damage bonus with +3% weapon damage.)
I mean, unless you want to be holding it all the time.
aye that would be it's purpose, switch to it when using powers like, I'm not very familiar with hardcore power users so that may not be something that's really worth it.
And yes, love the asari sword :D
Use the predator with a burst firing augment
another great guide can't wait to see the new augment guide
thx bud :)
Dude, thank you so much for the effort, excellent videos!
Happy to be of service :)
my computer died - I'll be back on next week, or, 2 weeks at the latest.
thanks for the continued vids! much appreciated :)
I was rockin the Ush' with a 2 shot mag. early game - not nearly as useful as other mag.
+Josh Fox ooooh that last 20% of clip augment! I've been wondering about that Vs 1 shotters, are you absolutely certain it's active for it?
Xaine's World I made 2 level 2 Ushiors one with Rebalanced Field Coils, one with nothing. I got my party killed, and tested them against the shields on an anointed. For whatever reason, the anointed was staying in one spot and not shooting at me, so I had a perfect opportunity to test shots from the same spot. The one with the coil consistently did higher damage.
+Josh Fox excellent! Thank you for that :) more info is always good
Holy crap thanks.
So for the most part, it's the weight thing.
fair enough, maybe I was feeling that bc I reach level 60 and I never run on over-weight problems - just used a double-mod and dump there an light materials mod... problem solved :p
but u right, weight save may be an advantage for some builds..
I will add, turbocharge increases it to 3; meaning that what is probably 1.5
Huh, never thought of using the Ushior like that. Always kept it as a pocket sniper.
Good idea.
awesome! glad it's helped :)
So I have to know. Is there anything else you wish to cover?
well, I'm working on the melee weps atm, full of mathematics that one, then armour, then while I'm not fully commited to an order, I'm going to revisit the augments vids and do a full coverage of them with everything new that ive learned while testing and playing including stuff like what clashes with what etc.
Ushior is so fun to use :o nice vid Xaine.
Why thank you very much :)
Because of the high damage it can do, I run it with the explorer profile and for my abilities I run Biotic charge, Tactical cloak and turbocharge and I can pop big groups in the blink of an eye.
I need to experiment with tactical cloak, everyone raves about it, but I've never tried it.
If you take Combat cloak as your last upgrade you can land more than 1 shot with the bonus dmg so you can output alot of dmg combined with turbocharge and all the bonus passives that you get for more dmg. I play this on insanity and I can 2 shot a Anointed. And also for the build you need the adrenaline mod on your armor to reset all your cooldowns when you kill an enemy so you can perma go invisible + charge
tactical cloak will override charge bonus dmg
Am i the only one who misses the M-77 Paladin, also your videos are very helpful.
No you're not, they nerfed the carnifex like i you can't imagine, 4 headshots at rank 10 to kill even standard outlaws (insanity)like.....
I also missed the Paladin, until I started getting one shot kills from sniper range with the Ushior. That was in multiplayer, no augments, no scope. That was when I started crafting the Ushior for single player.
now i'm gonna call all my carnifexes carniflex
for puns
I like it!
=P But scopes? in my opinnion, it is a waste of a slot. even if it would not take a slot, I would not recomend it at Carni at least.
it's largely preference base on that, I personally find it easier to scope shoot at medium to long range, only none scope at close
honestly, I just use the Carnifex as a fun back up and something for the cutscenes.
for augments, I just put kinetic coils on all the slots.
That's one of the great parts about this game, all guns are actually usable, you can complete the game with any gun, some will make it easier other more difficult, but its not like they're uselss or the only choices, fun and general preference is the main choosing factor really :)
Could you do another go at the beam emitter for weapons since they updated it?
Lol, its CarniFEX. Nice video though...
shit! that's 2 mistakes now! (I also kept in an extra audio take for one of the lines) i'm slippin', need more sleep lol
Phalanx + Hovering RoF Augment + Turbocharge upgraded for RoF = Phalanx fires as fast as you can click when you hover, and it melts everything.
gawd i'd have the forearms of Rocky if I did that O.o
Also need a sturdy mouse :P . This build is what got me off the carnifex, though. Its per-shot damage is satisfying, but its low RoF has always been frustrating for me, even with the RoF aug and turbocharge. In the time it takes to get off 2 carnifex shots, you've gotten off 8 phalanx shots :P
Got a Naga Chroma, so it's fairly sturdy,
and yeah that's my only gripe with the carnifex, I really like it's satisfying shot, but it's a little too slow
If I could find the plasma charge augment, I'd craft an Ushior! Does anyone know where to find it? I researched it once and sold it before I knew how powerful it was.
Unfortunately, the base Ushior level IX (no level X available) still only has a max clip size of 1.
+Tucker Hazel that is strange and disappointing, a rank 2 with only rank V mag mod giving 2 clip size gave me hope, thx for checking bud
No worries if you don't have the time etc, but would be very helpful if you get the chance (writing and doing test work etc for the melee weapon vid atm, just don't have access to the rank 10 stuff)
i miss the shuriken from me2. love the look and feel
Add the burst fire mod to the M-3 Predator
why does he say the bio converter requires team support in the tech skill tree??
+Braca Ganon not so much requires to actually have, but with some small clip sizes, the regeneration from those skills will keep you alive, I more didn't want to point people towards a weapon that could kill them all the time without a way to sustainably use it
You missed the Milky way pistol ? The one that was a pre-order for me3.
the pathfinder weps? if so ive been avoiding them due to the augment glitch where you cant getem back, don't want to recommend to someone incase they build it without knowing
also, I don't know anything about me1,2 and 3 so Ill need a name lol
N7 Eagle.
aaah, that one's in the special pistols vid as I missed it when doing the SMG
Anyone knows how to change the shoulder from right to left, while crouching?
how about testing weapon with a specific build?
I've stayed clear of specific builds as that speaks to very few people, but I have vids planned for entire builds with full loadouts, so that's where that will come into play
Personally, I love the phalanx.
I have no clue why but I love the M-3 predator lol
I kinda like carniflex with full auto but it's burns through ammo fast
+crimsondemonx working on the last E3 vid atm, then it's all out mass effect Andromache update starting with DPS charts for the auto fire augment, should be interesting
Xaine's World ok sweet good to see mass effect Andromeda isn't dead for you this is a great game
+crimsondemonx Aye, not dead, just sleepin' xD there's lots of games I want to play and will play, but when updates and new stuff in general is introduced to mass effect Andromeda, you can bet I'll cover it :)
Sidewinder, baby. Sexiest gun in the game!
What song is that in the background
It's called Universal by Vibe Tracks, here's the download link th-cam.com/users/audiolibrary_download?vid=17e734e382f109e6
It's Carnifex bro. A carni-flex is something that a clown does after he finishes 50 reps with a couple of 10KG dumbbells.
+0perativeX haha! That joke xD
CarniFLEX o7

Plasma charge 😆
I'm early
I HAVE A NOTIFICATION SQUAD!!! YAY!
Your aim is horrible through all videos though. xD
I'm not MLG for sure :), my aim goes to shit super quick when i'm hitting the same mob in the same place for the (not joking with this number) 100th+ time
Hahaha, true I guess. xD
