I can't believe it's Episode 44 and I'm as excited as if it were Episode 1

Hello, my friend. A good episode, with a tiny bit of a progress, but you won one more ally and you got the military access from Lorien. It was a great move and now all the Elfs are in the same alliance, as it was in the Second Era. I agree to reset the relations with Arnor to neutral, so that you can get another ally perhaps with giving them some towns you currently control and free their garrisons either for the front or to reinforce the garrisons in Ered Luin. Invest more in your economy, as all you need to do is to destroy the One and get rid of Mordor for good. Also, I prefer the provision to get the custom generals in the front rather than generic generals, so I think it would be good to move Maernil from Eorlstone south and get him ready for the expedition. Also, I still am not sure whether you will give the Ring to Sauron and have a final showdown, or will you get rid of the Ring right now - which is what I prefer.
And at this point, let's add another small episode of our story:
Maernil was happy to hear about the news from the front, as both Dornornoston and Elrond had their successes in Mirkwood. Both Duinburg and Rhosgobel were liberated and Maernil managed to secure an alliance with Thranduil.
"It was worth it", he said to the council. "I was sure that Thranduil would be a very tough negotiator, however, so it took longer than those with Celeborn. But the fact that we allied with Celeborn and our recent successes to liberate the whole of the plains of Anduin for Lothlorien gave him a good will to finally agree".
"Though we had to give away Amon Lanc", a councellor said. "I cannot say I'm too happy for this".
"Well, this was one of his vital requests", Maernil answered. "If we didn't give the old fort, we would not have our alliance".
"And it was necessary", Ancalagon completed. "Amon Lanc is the old capital of the Woodland Realm and the right thing is to return his capital".
The council simply agreed, though not all were in agreement of this move.
"Durion still holds the One", Maernil said to Ancalagon that night. "Every step brings him closer to Mordor".
"It was him that took Tirith Anduin", Ancalagon said. "But Lady Galadriel senses some sort fo conflict within him. And she's right".
"Should we be afraid of this?", Maernil asked.
"I am not sure yet", Ancalagon said. "But you now have to take a decision. I need to be besides the One. Either we leave this place or you give me the permission to go to Durion".
"Let me think of it", Maernil said after some thought. "This will be a difficult decision".
    Ancalagon simply nodded before leaving.

Not much to add to nikos' advice, but at least something...
In principle, you could funnel a large chunk of the reinforcements in Eregion and Imladris to Khazad-Dum to get rid of those dwarven vagabonds that keep us from Lady Galadriel and trading with her. Not that you need that gold, it is more the principle of the thing.
As for the rest of the forces you have along/around Gwathlo, you should move them towards Carras, so that you can strike down on Gondor as soon as Mordor takes Cirith Iaur.
As for your relief stack at Calenhad, start liberating settlements in Gondor and handing them to Dol Amroth. If you hold Osgiliath and Cair Andros, Mordor is pretty much blocked on their side of the river, and their armies in Gondor proper will fall swiftly, as you sweep from both sides.
Of course, it matters just how quickly you want to finish the campaign. If you want to finish it quick, just aim all of your field armies towards Barad-dur. Any settlements along the way they can take and exterminate before handing them to our allies, but other than that, you should not worry about.

Sorry for the late comment. I'm out of the country and haven't had time. Looking forward to this episode!!

Hey izzy, great video! I think it's totally OK to reset your diplomacy with bree so you can ally with arnor. I also wouldn't blame you for ending the campaign before defeating mordor. The endgame will be a pretty long slog to finish them off. That being said, I was looking forward to seeing an elite army face off against sauron himself. I think the most fun option would be to "accidentally" give the ring to mordor and then defeat the dark lord and call the campaign then!

You need to build some waystations to retrain your Eregion units. Taking Cair Andros will give you a large Waystation.

Leaving a general in calenhad will solve your problems. You have many generals in the vicinity. If you take cair andros and minastirith in a short manner, you don't need to think about upgrade, however, if you wait and attack from north to the black gates, stalling the upgrade might be a reasonable thing.

It might not be the best idea to upgrade Talfaragrondost. It will become 'Mithlond type' settlment instead of being OP Gondorian type castle. So for defensive reasons not the best thing but I guess it's better than rito and if you push further it will not matter as much.

Soon, the question he should consider is "how economically viable could it become, once it no longer serves a military purpose?".

at this point, just give the north to arnor and get an alliance. Rather than a bigger nuisance they can be an okay placeholder in regions you dont have high public order

On the one hand it's due to time constraints, on the other hand it's due to the story getting bogged down and contrived this late in the campaign. Sorry! 😟

If you cut Mordor's Northern regions off the other factions will (probably) reduce them down for you over time. Just watch out for Rhun getting involved.

@@IzzyTotalWar I suggest perhaps if they aren't in any position to reach your front line against Mordor, you could use them to take Annuminas as a cheeky little f-you to the Dunedain for causing you so much pain earlier. Maybe sue for peace afterwards or save it for the very end of the campaign.

The silly thing that you can't become allies with a faction due to them being allies to someone you were once at war with should be dismissed as a bug, although it may be intentional. Override that shit. It's silly.
