So glad everybody is having a great time. I saw it back when I was a kid and it was amazing and happy many people and kids are able to experience something I got see as a kid.
I live in Dallas. This was my first total eclipse. I thought I knew what to expect from pictures and videos. When totality occurred, however, it was the most magnificent, emotional, awe-inspiring, celestial phenomenon I had ever experienced, bar none. I literally started trembling and crying with emotion. I kept praising God for His unfathomable majesty. I didn't know how else to react. It was my deepest instinct. Pictures and videos cannot remotely do it justice. I now know I had absolutely no idea what it would be like. It was almost two weeks ago and I am still trying to process the indescribable grandeur that I was blessed to see. I will never, ever forget it.
In Ohio here it got so dark the birds went to roost & my horses stood with their heads up not eating & when it got dark they ran to their shelter. It got real quiet for a minute or so. The after the sunset dusk was 360° all the way around us. That was strange. It was strange but cool ❤
You can take them off for a little bit before, during, and after totality. During the 2017 one they told us over the radio when we could take them off and when we should put them back on.
Imagine a criminal planning to rob a bank or store at night from 9pm and decides to take a quick nap from 11am to 3pm, wakes up by 2pm and its total darkness, and he be like oh shit, am gonna miss my appointment
Okay, I did a quick google search and it's even cooler! It's light refracted off of ice crystals in the upper atmosphere, creating an illusktory halo around the moon!
I saw that from Las Colinas/Irving TX....its something that can not be explained in words....everything literally changed for 4 minutes.....you do see other planets and even a comet passed during it

Amazing. I live in SC and it got dim here. In 2017 it got dark for over 2 min here. I'm fortunate to have witnessed both. So cool! GOD bless!
