Some achievements and trophies are too difficult to complete or just straight up broken. From achievements that require endless grinding for online play, or ones that have no player base any more to even achieve. These are my biggest headaches and hurdles to completing some of these games. Let's breakdown my Top 10 Worst achievements. And enjoy a special music video in the video!

Team Fortress 2 has an achievement called _Local Cinema Star_ , where you have to save a replay from a match, and upload it to TH-cam with the in-game interface. The achievement is awarded once you hit 1000 views on a video. Plus you even get a free hat with the achievement.
Seems a bit hard, specially for nobodies like me who's channel gets no views, but it might get done down the road, after some years, right?
WEEEEEEELL, there's also this other achievement called _Blockbuster_ , which has you do the same thing, but instead it asks you to GET 100,000 VIEWS ON A SINGLE VIDEO.
Oh yeah, FORGOT TO MENTION, TH-cam's API isn't compatible with the game anymore, so even if you upload a replay, the game can't count your views anyways. There's another achievement for getting 100 views, I have a replay on my channel with 320 views, and I've never got it.
ALSO DOESN'T HELP THAT SINCE 2016 THEY'VE DISABLED SAVING REPLAYS ON CASUAL SERVERS, SO IT'S BEYOND UNOBTAINABLE AT THIS POINT.

And about the TH-cam, achievements....there's actually 4 of them. Home Movie for getting 100 views, Local Cinema Star for 1000, Indie Film Sensation for 10,000, and Blockbuster for 100,000. (Fun fact, I have a single count for this achievement. I have no idea where I got it from). The other replay achievements aren't that bad, cause you can still save a replay on a community server. But still, having 4 achievements that are downright unobtainable, after struggling to get the other 520, is downright sadistic

@@jmurray1110 It's not an achievement for completion. It's not on the list of achievements for the game. It was a gag. You don't need to get it to "complete" TF2

That Gary's Mod achievement should be like Halo, Either play with him, or play with someone who has. Then it would be WAAAY better
it's like a computer virus, except its just a steam achievement.
ShellShock live has this same achievement. In order to unlock god rays, you need to beat a level 100 player with the achievement, or beat KevDev himself in a game. Luck for my lazy ass, people set up god rays lobbies where level 100 players bully small fry until someone wins it. I hold my bullshit high on my shoulders.

I’m disappointed that Geometry Dash’s “Get a level rated” achievement isn’t in here. To do that you have to get a level noticed by the creator of the video game himself.
The mods
This isn’t Top 10 Hardest Video Game Achievements. It is still satisfying to see a level get noticed by the creator itself. I don’t even think the Completionist even played GD

it’s hard, but not unrewarding. getting a level rated means it gets on the rated levels list, meaning your name will be in the spotlight for at least a day.
It is only an achivement in the game but not an achivement on steam
I think one of the BEST achievements of all time was hiding in a box as Snape in Lego Harry Potter giving you the Solid Snape achievement

The worst kinds of achievements are the ones that can’t be obtained anymore. It’s like they’re just there to mock the players for not getting them sooner.
They should just remove the unobtainable trophies or just make it not count toward a platinum why not start a petition guys

When the Gary's Mod Developer dies, just watch people be móre upset/concerned over never being able to get that Real Gary achievement, than the fact he died.
And that is why you should always *think* before randomly deciding to base achievements around actual people or yourself because you never know what'll happen if something like, I dunno, YOU DYING gets in the way.

I attempted the Bladder of Steel achievement a long time ago in Rock Band 2. There are actually a couple songs that have long enough breaks in them that give you time to at least use the bathroom without pausing.
You also fail the achievement if you fail a song. Which I did. I failed the solo in Panic Attack. For those that don't know, it's the 2nd to last song on the setlist. I was pissed.
How fitting they put the song named Panic Attack right at the end, literally just slap a tricky Dream Theater song on you and make you play the keyboard solos on the guitar as well

Dude no joke, I failed at the exact same time... I cried. I hadn't failed Panic Attack in a long time either, my fingers just couldn't keep up after 6 hours of shredding...

My roommate got Bladder of Steel achievement, I jumped in twice for him to take a bathroom break, but he did it all himself in the first go. I was impressed.
I actually have the “I’m the real Garry” achievement and I’m honestly not even sure when I got it.

Me too. I want to say I got it in prop hunt but it was years ago.
The worst ones are achievements that make u do an absurdly large number of things but the game has no in game counter for those things, so u just are forced to guess how many u have already done. I rlly hate that.
Dead by daylight on the PS4 comes to mind.

That terraria achievement (that's luckily only on console) where you have to collect every single piece of armor.
@@Chromeno I mean that's at least easier to keep track of and could easily be done in less than a day with an end game caharcter. While it does suck that you would have to do multiple worlds to get it, it's much more reasonable than any rng or online multiplayer achievements.
Neverwinter on ps4 has a trophy to kill 1000 dragons and you can only track the first 100 if i remember correctly, to make it even more infuriating not everything that's classified as a dragon counts.
I too am a completionist, but I do like when humor-based games have an insane unattainable achievement. Gary's Mod and The Stanley Parable included lol.
I know this comment is a year old, but TF2 is filled with them as well. There’s achievements related to the Saxxy awards, as well an achievement that only valve has, which is an achievement that references how the Meet the Spy video was leaked because of a bug with the iOS TH-cam app at the time.

I have "Yes, I am the real garry!" one. Yet I only have 16/29 GMod achievements after 1,100 hours.

I'm mad that the achievement "90 day streak" from "World of guns: guns disassembly" isnt on here. You have to disassemble, then reassemble every gun in the catalog without messing up. And you have to do this for 90 STRAIGHT DAYS. Forgot to mention, if you mess up once...YOU HAVE TO COMPLETELY START OVER

My least favorite type of achievements is the one where you had to get the achievement during a specific timeframe... that already passed. (ie missing a preorder, not being able to get an achievement in 2022 because it was only obtainable if you played in 2015, etc)
Crypt of the necro dancer, “impossible, right” is incredibly hard, arguably much harder than some other things on this list. Instead of taking hundreds of hours of menial tasks, it’s basically just hundreds or thousands of hours that culminates in one nearly impossible run. Less than 100 people have ever gotten this achievement.
What is the actual achievement description?
@@jojoversus1100 it’s for beating the main game mode “all zones” with a character called Coda. This character is a mix of the three most difficult characters in the game - Aria, Bolt and Monk.
What this means is that you have to beat 16 levels and 5 boss levels while:
* never getting hit
* never collecting gold (which every enemy drops)
* never missing the beat of the BGM song - meaning you have to move according to the games Tempo
AND * the game’s movement tempo is doubled from what it is normally.
Also, to even get this character unlocked, you have to first beat the “All Chars” mode, which has you doing All Zones with every other character in the game - IN A ROW.

Bladder of Steel just needs two people playing. Switch round when either one of you wants to get food/drink/go to the toilet and it's just tedious rather than hellish

The Go Outside achievement is pretty easy since you can just change your computer date.
But Commitment literally has you either playing or letting the program run for AN ENTIRE TUESDAY. No cheating allowed.

@@tragedyplustime8271 it’s also pretty easy because you can literally just not play the game for five years. It’s really just a version of the marshmallow test.
My sister, neighbor, and I actually managed to get Bladder of Steel... on VOCALS, which was a disaster even though we totally cheated by swapping between three people. We were very proud of ourselves because we did this before my neighbor's voice changed and we could've had someone who could actually hit the bass notes in songs like "Cool for Cats" and most of the metal songs.

I got bladder of steel on Xbox 360! It took a assload of batteries,energy of a hamster in a dishwasher,and 1 bucket...
I got it playing hard drums. I remember I ran upstairs during a break in a song to get a sandwich my mom made for me and run back down before the drums came in. I don't remember it being too difficult, just tiring. I would do it on expert if Everlong wasn't on it (and Visions too I think)
For anyone attempting this:
1) Play on easy.
2) Use a wired controller.
3) Have at least 1 person to swap with for breaks.
Easy achievement, just more annoying than anything.
Some of the worst I've experienced are either: RNG grinds (Depends on LUCK), or gathering a group of people online at the exact same time in order to get specific objectives done.
Gonna necro this, Club Penguin was atrocious for this. Gather thirty of avatars with a specific colour equipped in the Night Club, for four different colours. Get real.

I did the bladder of steel achievement on expert guitar one random night in high school. Totally worth it, and easily my proudest achievement in gaming lol
doing this on rock band 1 was the worst because you needed a friend, or to be able to do vocals on the same difficulty at the same time. so glad in rock band 2 you could play as a solo band
You didn’t mention the worst part about the ‘Hard Boiled’ achievement: YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE EGGMANLAND 3 TIMES WITHOUT DYING AT ALL.

I did the "Bladder of Steel" achievement twice, once on drums and once on guitar, my legs hurt the whole next day when I did it of drums and my carpian tunnel was destroyed after the guitar playthrough. Good times.
I think I have an idea for it.
1. Get 3 to 4 friends to take turns on an instrument.
2. Get a bunch of liquids and take bathroom breaks before your turn if you have to go. If you have to go during a song, you can hold it!
3. Get a bunch of food and eat periodically so you dont have to go take a crap during it. You can probably hold it for the entire time.

Bladder Of Steel sounds like it could be easy if you have people to tag team on vocals. Like if the person currently singing needs a pee they can tag someone in to do it without having to pause.
@@thatonenerd9252 number 3 is kinda dumb. Yeah, get a bunch of food, but don't worry about needing to crap because of that food. It takes like 20 hours for food to go through your body and reach your other end, so the only crap you'd need to take is from the food you ate yesterday.

The one buffalo killing achievement in red dead redemption was the one that made me feel worse than any video game ever. The fact they never spawn again either keeps reminding you they ain’t coming back.
probably the rarest achievement I have (0.1% of players) is a Hat in Time: "I refuse to die" where you have to collect every death wish stamp. Wasnt close to being as hard as the ones on this list but still tough

An easy way to cheese this achievement would be to use assist mode. Death wishes automatically turn on peace and tranquility, and you get all the stamps of each death wish for just completing the main objective. This only doesn't work for community rifts and candles.
I recently got this game, but I got the Switch version so there are no achievements. Nevertheless, I did manage to get all 111 Death Wish stamps without using Peace and Tranquility at all. One of my proudest gaming achievements, along with getting 199 strawberries in Celeste and the "How Did We Get Here?" advancement in Minecraft.
Proudest completion moments I have is is getting all achievements in Skyrim not because it's hard but because it takes a long time and 100% sekiro and sonic generations, overall not hard but definitely satisfying to see
Mein Leben being a bronze trophy still makes me laugh and boil blood at the same time.
I got the one for the Deeds Of Captain Wilkins, i still have the one for Gunslinger Joe and Mrs silent Death left, i dont know why they exist but i WILL DO THEM ONE DAY

most people have it probably did it with a physical copy, there's a glitch where you can play on an easier diffculty up until a point then switch to Mein Lieben for the last mission

A simple solution to MP and SP achievements is to just split them in two categories of completion. Wish they would so I can have a 100% completion on SP rather than relying on hoping getting lucky in MP.

I remember there being an achievement in Need for Speed 2015 where you had to complete some races in Prestige Mode, the catch is that even the lowest possible time you can get is insane and you basically have to go with a Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren or a Beck Kustoms JUST to get the slowest time. I've looked it up and only 20 people have completed all Prestige mode races with the fastest times
Sometimes giving a player menial tasks ( like the gears of war achievement) gives them a challenge to keep playing their favorite game. But I get how as a completionist it would blow.

I feel like the Dead Island achievement was done way better. Iirc it's play with a developer or someone with the achievement, so it spreads pretty quickly.
I'm one of the lucky few who got the Real Garry achievement because an achievement hunting group managed to convince him to join a server lol
I feel like the best way to get that Rock Band 2 achievement would be to tag team it with someone. Just tag each other in and out when one of you needs to eat or use the wc. Still not ideal, since you would need to both budget 6 hours of time to a single run through. But at least it's something
I think the Impossible Boy achievement from Super Meat Boy was the hardest achievement that I ever completed. It took so much practice, and actually felt like an achievement in the end.

That achievement broke me. I’ve definitely lost interest in getting some achievements before and others I’ve decided I wasn’t even going to attempt, but this is the only one that I’ve put weeks of time and effort into only to finally admit defeat in the end.

Doesn't help that the last two songs are extremely difficult too... Dream Theater's "Panic Attack" followed by Judas Priest's "Painkiller" after a six hour marathon... my fingers ache just remembering it
I actually got the Bladder of Steel achievement for Rock Band 2 in my youth. RB2 was basically the only thing I played in high school, only game one the 360 I've 100%. Did it on drums, I would have my brother grab me snacks to eat in between songs and keep me company the entire time lmao.

Hehe, yeah. Had a buddy who modded the game and instead they screamed out, 'bettpfanne," which is German for bedpan. Gives a whole new perspective as you basically caused every enemy to soil themselves. He had planned on turning the blood yellow, but he decided not to.
Your #2 is my #1. Let me tell you a story of how I almost got "The Bladder of Steel Award" achievement. I was 13 year old, enjoying summer break, playing some Rockband 2. I had just recently gotten into achievement hunting after completing games like The Godfather II, Bully, and Halo 3. I knew I would never be good enough at Rockband to complete all songs on Expert but I thought I'd give the game a shot at completing 100%. I had just finished every venue and was ready to attempt to spend 6 or so hours grinding out the Endless Setlist. Oh, did I mention my mom was in the hospital about to give birth? Yeah... not really the best time to try this. Anyway, I had gotten through about 72 songs without even blinking when my step-father came downstairs to tell me we had to go to the hospital because my brother was born. Do you even understand how royally fucked up this situation was for me back then? A teenage boy who had wasted almost 6 hours of his life playing Rockband in his parent's basement had to decide whether to pause and talk to his step-father, losing everything, or to pretend he didn't exist until the job was complete. I am still traumatized to this day that I seriously had to pause that fucking game when I was 85% done with getting the hardest achievement I have and will ever attempt to get (other than Halo's LASO achievements...).

There is a Guitar Hero achievement on the most recent version for playing a total of 24 hours of the online version (only counting the time spent actually playing). I had 20 minutes to go and my PS4 crapped out and had to be factory reset. And although you don't have to do it in one sitting 24 hours is a fucking long time, by which point I was bored with the game and could not bring myself to do it again.
I think part of the issue was deciding to do this while your mom was ready to pop your sibling at any moment, personally.
Also, assuming you liked the game at the time, why couldn't you have set up another day for it?

Im Suprised that Celeste`s 202 berries profile badge isnt here. You need to beat every level and every version of that level WITHOUT DYING ONCE. IN A RAGE GAME. Its so hard that only around 130 people have ever gotten it.

I was actually a pretty good Rayman legends player, I beat every level and extra level and even after I beat the game I would still do the dailies and weeklies untill one day I got awesomeness 11. I was pretty happy and eventually quit but I will never forget the day that I got the achievement.

@@TheFailnaut lmao I literally grinded using like 5 different characters for that one, since you can go on different characters to complete angler quests in 1 ingame day, even THEN it was still painful.
It wasn’t that bad, since you can farm the fish and store them in the piggy bank. You can only catch one quest fish normally, but the game doesn’t count it if it’s in player-based storage. Then it was just a matter of setting a timer and playing during the summer

My friends and I did the Rock Band 2 achievement online. Our trick was knowing the songs well enough that we knew which songs had extended breaks so you could run and go to the bathroom or grab a drink. It was crazy but we did do it.
The #1 you picked was exactly the one I expected. When I was a young lad seeing achievements for the first time I couldn't believe it was real.

Also I feel that Cave Story+ Curse Broken should have an honourable mention as it was literally unobtainable for years due to the game not having the proper wording in the code.
One of my most accomplished achievements in any game. I did the Rockband 2s iron bladder and the expert endless achievements at the same time. I almost failed on a couple songs too. I did it first try! I even had to pee in a Gatorade bottle in between songs. Good stuff.
There are moments of watching this guy and me going “I’m genuinely worried about this guy”
i feel you on the 7 day survivor achievement. I almost had it, but i ended up passing out 15 minutes before i completed it and i woke up with frank dying of starvation.....i vowed to never put mysef through this again. so mad props my dude for all the heck you go through.
I did manage to do it somehow but then I quit instead of dieing so I didn't get the laser sword or boxers still got the achievements never doing it again.

It is actually good to have a fighting game achievement that encourages you to play a long time with every character because that is the amount of dedication required to be a competitive player.
Until you move to the next game in the series and it asks you to do it all over again. Netherrealm are just sadistic as fuck and it makes it seem like Warner Bros force it on them as a way to keep compulsive players stuck in for the grind

Hollow Knight’s “Embrace the Void” trophy deserves an honourable mention for the Pantheon of Hallownest alone.
It's the only trophy I don't have for that game. I haven't played the game in over a year and I know one day I'll have to go back for that damn trophy
It’s very satisfying to get though, and it’s takes actual skill. Yeah the fifth pantheon sucks but it’s definitely not the worst achievement ever (that probably goes to the achievement for getting every rare weapon in dark souls 1)

The swift rival: Rivals of Aether
I’ve gotten that achievement 3 times but I hated it every time. The big issue with me is, story mode doesn’t have any character I like to play, and it has Wraster(I think I spelled his name right), I hate playing as wraster. And my second biggest issue is,
You need this achievement to get the second custom alt color. I love making the alt colors but I didn’t want just one so I basically had to get it, and my younger brother wanted it, and I had to unlock it for a youth hangout place I worked at. You need to beat every story mode in 2 or less minutes. Like 5 fights, back to back, damage percent carries over, and you need to do that with characters you might hate playing as. Absa, etalus, and the DLC characters aren’t in story mode so if you play any of them there’s a big struggle right there
And then there’s supreme helper minion: terraria
You need to complete 200 fishing quests. Now that doesn’t seem so bad. Well, you get one per day, mission fish can be difficult to catch cus it’s rng. And fishing quests don’t really give you much good stuff as incentive anyways. This achievement made me hate fishing in terraria and I never do it anymore. Not for potion fish, not for crates, the only time I ever fish is for the boss you summon by fishing. It’s tedious
THANK YOU for talking about “Hard Boiled”!!! Unleashed HD is my all time favorite game. I speedrun it. I am finally going for completion (but had to start over due to a save file corruption). And let me tell you, the werehog stages in the main story are boring at worst and actually fun in the challenge levels. The day stages….have the opposite problem: fun in the main story and rage inducing when challenges come into play. Put these issues together and you have Hard Boiled: repetitive night parts I could do with my eyes closed combined with overly intense day segments that kill nearly every run past that one tightrope segment in room 2.
And I also started on the ps3. I played that thing for YEARS. Switching to the Series S was the greatest decision of my LIFE. Makes Hard Boiled a little less of a nightmare and I don’t die as much or in stupid, glitchy ways. (Funny thing is that I never seem to die on Eggmanland during a speedrun….only trying Hard Boiled lol)

I count 100% in a game as single player. Unless you're playing that online game for many many many hours. I feel like you can say online achievements don't have to count as 100% in alot of cases. ✌️

too be fair some multiplayer achievements aren’t that bad but the ones that require a lot of time and dedication are.
The 'Totally Awesome' achievement was not too bad for me, and once I fully beaten everything in Rayman Legends, it only took me about 30 minutes out of each day for me, for about two months, to do the daily and weekly challenges to get the points to reach level 11 (since I generally get gold trophies for each challenge).
I did 7-Day Survivor. Though it was on the PC version.
The worst part of it is that it's boring. You sum it up perfectly.

I also did it by combining it with my housework. Did my laundry, complete hard-core clean of my living room, organized my DVD/game/book collection, did my taxes, and then for the last bit played GBA. I can't even imagine doing nothing more than playing it for the whole time.

I've even got a time stamped video on my Facebook history of me getting it... Unfortunately I don't have the setup necessary to record outside the gameplay but I was truly ecstatic to finally cross that monster off my list...

Finally some kind of acknowledgement for having earned the Bladder of Steel Award back in 2010! Not only mustn’t you pause, you’re not allowed to fail a song either. I actually failed my first attempt by accidentally pausing after having played about 60 songs. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever been as upset in my life as I was at that moment. However, this trophy was the key to unlocking my very first platinum, and probably played a big part in turning me into the completionist I am today, so it was well worth it!
I remember completing Bladder of Steel in Rock Band 2. Fortunately you can get it on any difficulty, so I chose vocals on medium since the mic is the most comfortable instrument to hold. I couldn't use my voice the next day and I wasn't even trying to sing well.

@@dragonmaster3030 I think it took me about 6-8 hours if I remember correctly. There are 80 songs and despite loading each song one after the other, the little breaks are still much needed.
It wasn’t hard, necessarily, but I have a great grudge for the Boss Hunt achievements in “Plants Vs Zombies : Garden Warfare 2”. There’s a mystery portal that, for the most part, displays monthly modes that you play online, and that have select buffs to your interface or gameplay. HOWEVER, there were once 3 unique solo modes where you had to hunt distinct bosses that never appeared in the main game after their respective events. Those were the Sasquatch, the Brothers of Gnomus, and the Spooky Squash
These were fairly easy, but it’s the fact that these modes not only don’t appear anymore, but there’s also a Platinum achievement.
Basically, you had to play the game within the first year (which is unlikely, seeing as the game seemed to have peaked in early-mid 2017) and have the skill level and time to beat these three bossess.

I've been especially livid about this one for so long. I remember when we were in that long period of time where there just weren't any more portal events and the community had to harass Popcap to activate some again, only for them to basically do less than the bare minimum and only put on a couple of the required modes. I've only ever seen sasquatch and I haven't touched the game since 2019

I have 3 sisters & 3 brothers (4 boys total). It was great growing up because there’s so many fun 4 players games. We all had our own ninja turtle, character in brute force, & our own instrument in Rock band. I was the singer, my older brother on guitar, & my two younger brothers on drums & bass. We tried to do that challenge to play every song back in 2009/2010, not sure of the year. We had it all planned out. Start at 9:00, new batteries in the instruments, no water, time to dig in. We played on hard because there were some songs we were iffy on. We made it 3/4 of the way through & then the power went out! It was raining pretty hard in southeast Alaska that day. We looked at each other & just walked away defeated, probably pretty thirsty too. Good memory that I forgot about until now. Thanks for the video!

Not remotely surprised multiplayer achievements were listed multiple times, they're badly designed and usually outright hostile; that's ignoring the fundamental problems such as lack of a player base, or servers shut down, or refusing to activate over lans, or unstable internet connection.

Imo, Celeste Farewell Golden Strawberry is a very difficult achievement, to be fair it is not an actual achievement that is recognized on steam but the Celeste community literally has a list of people who have done it, that just shows how difficult it is and how little amount of people have actually done it (if you want a steam achievement for Celeste to be difficult I’d say the moon berry is probably the most difficult steam achievement for Celeste)
Farewell is insane overall. I think I threw in the towel for Moon Berry and activated cheats. Can't even remember straight. I was just in a haze from going through that insane run-of-death type chapter.
But I KNOW I did at least half of the Moon Berry's path without cheating. Good enough for me. I was already foaming at the mouth lol

As Chapter 9 : Farewell is by FAR the hardest piece of content in the game and is a goddamned marathon for platform experts in normal conditions, catching its Golden Strawberry is an absolutely insane personal achievement.

the muck achievement from muck should be in top 10 because it is literally almost impossible. because to get this achievement you have to beat the whole game without taking any damage, no using any power up, and you can only use a rock as a weapon, and also it have to be eather normal or hard difficulty.

The trick for the iron bladder achievement in rock band is to plan a day with friends and switch off when your hand cramps, luckily finished the achievement on the first attempt~ there also was an achievement in one of the guitar hero games where you could only get it if you played online against someone who worked on the game. And with Xbox live at the time it was essentially a pay to unlock achievement .-.
I have a personal vendetta for an achievement in Skullgirls 2nd Encore called "Funded." For that achievement you need to get an 829 combo, which isn't that bad when compared to some on this list, but while some of those on the list are tedious chores and tests of endurance (such as 9, 7, and 2) this is straight up a test of skill since there is an INFINITE PREVENTION SYSTEM and how easy it is to mess up just because you pressed a button a bit too late. It doesn't help that it has to be *exactly* 829 hits and if it gets any higher all of your hard work was for nothing.
otherwise, it's an AMAZING fighting game that's beginner friendly and has cool characters, music and impressive animation.
The way you unlock that is by going into training mode and disabling the infinite prevention

That's more like a Beard Bros. thing, because without achievements, most games end up being almost nothing to complete. You can easily see this with Nintendo games, though they sometimes add stuff to compensate for the lack of achievements. I don't know Rayman Legends that well, but without achievements, wouldn't it simply be "get all of the collectibles on every stage", much like a Mario game would be?
@@Kahadi true it feels like, especially these days, games are focusing less on having a bunch of shit to do in game and instead are focusing on achievements which can often be just as difficult (if not way more ditticult) with zero in game rewards it just looks nice to have trophies but they're pretty lame to me tbh

I think the worse part of these online achievements (for games that have single and multiplayer) is that they have an expiration date. It's not just that there won't be many people playing it online anymore, but that there won't be any servers at all.
I remember that in order to get some Brütal Legend achievements, I had to do some exploits in matches with no opponent (i think there was an achievement where you have to get every unit killed, and there was a specific map with a special hazard that you had to send your units to, one by one).
Some games do push them as automatic unlocks like Gears of War 3 for one of their timed event achievements they added, but most devs are just too lazy and think that Microsoft's requirements to not change achievements unless the game is Live Service (Rainbow 6 Siege).
But for every positive you have a situation like GTA V where the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions have had their multiplayer shut down since Rockstar don't like how easily people could get gifted money via hackers and weren't selling Shark Cards in high enough volume to support the servers still
Lol I did the “platinum artist” achievement, for Rockband and thought for sure, it would be on this list. I had no idea Rockband 2 stepped up the criteria to a heartless extreme
I know it’s not technically an “achievement” but the honorable mention goes to the 900 Korok seeds from “Breath of the Wild” which I had to collect TWICE (once on normal and once on master mode)!
That’s nowhere near as bad as hundreds of similar things. I’d rather collect all 900 seeds 10 times than try to get the gold rank in Pokemon HGSS’s Battle Factory. That was what broke me as a completionist, as it almost made me hate one of my favorite games and ruin months of my life.

@@19Szabolcs91 The reason its not so bad is the puzzles to get them are clever, its gives you incentives to explore and puzzle with the environment. Also it lets you upgrade inventory capacity making it not useless to collect all 900 of them.
