Chinese mini digger grading and digging dwarf wall footing [ALSO A BIG BIG BOO BOO]

- Hi everyone and welcome back to everyday with me, Nick
On this one i use the chinese mini digger to do a little grading on the first job i started with the mini digger when i first bought it.
I also dig a little footing for a dwarf retaining wall and then move onto digging a trench for a water pipe to go in. Keep watching to see what happens when i dig the water line trench, it will be something that i will continue to remember every time i dig a trench and or footing. So keep watching !!!

Thanks Nick! I've got a mini digger on the way and I know from experience I'm gonna get it stuck 😆. Really appreciate that you showed the whole sequence of getting it back up! I'll be prepared when it happens to me 😊

Just don't panic. Step back, assess what's the issue and just go with it. Most importantly, don't have your excavator over a trench, I learned that the hard way. I only go over trenches now with my 6" utility bucket. Enjoy your machine buddy.
I'd say top respect to you for putting it out there so that others can learn, and great that you recovered it so quick and no one was hurt and the machine is fine. I feel sorry for the people who claim nothing ever goes wrong for them, what kind of a dull life is that? Well done Nick
Thank you bud, really appreciate the positive feedback. I sure learnt from it so I hope others do too. I too am surprised how quick I managed to get that machine out the ground and yes the machine is fine just my dignity is hurt 🤣
I agree with you, how amazing would it be to be so perfect that no mistakes are ever made. I sure wouldn't want to be like those people, the best part is making mistakes and learning from them.

Makes me consider the expanding tracks for when I get one to dig some garage footings.
Yes I would like the expanding tracks myself. It sure would be very useful when doing such things like this. But I deffo need a 6 or 9 inch service bucket for jobs like this. Thanks for watching 😊
Hi Nick. I have a 1.2T similar digger (different brand) but with the Yanmar engine. Came with 200mm (8") trenching bucket which is ideal for water lines. Cheers from Australia. Dave K

How has your machine been for you ?
I wish I had got the 3 cylinder yanmar engine now, soo much smoother and quieter. 200mm bucket would be great for service lines. Watch this space as I will be getting one 😉 thank you again for watching and commenting 😁

@@slimer13b I am in NSW. I looked at the new 1.2T Rhinoceros machine which I liked with the Kubota engine but was $2K more and could not find an agent down here. My machine is a UHI (United Heavy Industries). Has 3 year warranty and parts are easy to get out of Sydney (I am in the Hunter Valley) near Newcastle.
Hey Nick have you had problems with the tracks? My comes off pretty easy and can’t get them back on without using the boom and sling stretch the track like big rubber band to get back on. Seems like the tensioners won’t back off enough. You have that problem?

I have had the track come off once and that was due to turning on a rock and it threw the track off. It took the P@#S to get back on but come back to it next morning and 5minutes it was back on. I've noticed that with the grease tensioner fully let off it still wasn't enough to get the track back on. It's like they've put the tracks on tight in factory hoping for some stretch along the way. Then I just pump the grease tensioner up til the tracks are right. Is yours grease or a big nut for tensioner ?
@@everydaywithmenick I just have a threaded rod and a nut no grease to pump in. I’ve thrown my tracks 4 times only have 10 hrs on my machine. I’m afraid I will damage the $250 track by stretching it to get back on that’s the only way. I’ve been asking crisp the sales lady that sold me the machine if she could show me a video how there technicians install the tracks. Some reason she doesn’t want to do that. I’m sure they use some stretching machine to get the tracks on. I believe the tensioners that they are using are probably designed for the walk behind machine that only weighs 500 kg and I believe the spring compresses in and that’s how my track get thrown off. The spring it’s just not strong enough for a 1200kg machine. But they designed it not to loosen up enough to manually put the track back on. My track will sometimes come off just by going straight down a hill. I don’t think that they’re going to fix that problem for me I think I’m gonna have to fabricate it myself and get a stronger spring. It is a flaw in their design but it digs pretty good lots of power! I could be wrong about the tensioner this is my first excavator but something is just not right I stopped doing 360s and 180s just a keep the tracks from coming off. I will have to do some more research just got to find the appropriate tensioner to put inside that machine.
Lol…that is so me, I would have done the same thing trying to hand lift it….ha ha classic. Don’t let the haters get to you mate, most of them are 15 years of age anyway. If they aren’t then more fool them then as they haven’t grown up enough to be a good civil person. Don’t let someone who knows nothing about you and who has nothing to offer you have so much of a negative impact on your life I say. Have you noticed if your machine has gotten any louder? Always wondered if they would get noisier once worn in a bit from new.
I don't even know why I tried lifting by hand, how stupid of me, but in the moment you just try anything. Wasn't until I stepped back and thought about it, thats when the rational ideas come to mind 🤣

I've actually noticed the machine is a little but quieter if anything. It may not sound it on camera but I think in person it sounds as though the engine has worn in and is sounding and running better. Maybe just me like.

Hi Brian and welcome to the channel. These machines are how should I say... different 😄 I give my buddy a go for about 20 mins or more and he couldn't quite get the hang of the controls. I've spent 100 hours on it so I'm happy with them.

Hey buddy, yes we say "she be right" over here too 😆 my head deffo wasn't feeling it on this job or the jobs after it. Just struggling to think clearly. Didn't help I was running night shifts too so lack of sleep got me good too.
But yes this is a mistake I hope never to make again.

Aww lol I think it was due to me including a link to rinox buckets pointing out that you cound do with a smaller bucket ;) an expandabale undercarrige would be good here too. I knew what was going to happen when you started digging the trench. Oh and perhaps one thing else to consider is using caution tape - keep the videos coming Nick :)

Expanding under carriage would be great but it's too late for that now 😄
Caution tape is a good shout. Generally I only have the essential personal on site but yea I may need to start that. Cheers for getting back to me after your last comment got deleted.
@@everydaywithmenick Oh cool, look forward to what you have up your sleeve.... I was meaning Caution tape for when your backfilling services in this case water - you can get tape to warn of a water line below, I know its an internal service line put I think its better practice

Aah I am with you now. Yes your very right, I put it on my water line with a metallic strip so it can be CAT scanned and show something there. I will have to get some service tape for future jobs like that. Again, very good ideas 👍😊
