Norwood HD38 build - Day 3 & 4 - very nearly there now !
Hi everyone and welcome back to the channel and welcome back to the Norwood HD38 build also.
So on this one i get the axle installed onto the frame and i get it pulled out from inside the container and into the other building so i can continue to assemble the rest of the mill.
I get the carriage installed and by the end of this video, all i have left is to put the engine on and install the band wheels and shafts and do some last snagging bits to make sure its all good.
Again id like to thank Andy Dudley from @globalmachinerysolutionslt413 for all the help he has given me along the way and also supplying missing parts from the assembly, these things happen and i refuse to hold Global or Andy responsible.
As ever guys, leave a comment or send me an email to nick.garton@hotmail.com for any information i can help you with.
Thank you all as always and please bear with me and i will soon have the mill fully working and put together.

Hi all and thank you for coming back and as the title says, this is day one and two of the build and let me tell you, this has been the hardest build i have done with a sawmill. Kiln Build - huge fan install and Inkbird Humidity Controller

Hi all and welcome back to the channel. On this one im working on the kiln build, and on this one i make a massive hole in the side of the container to install a hugeeee 600mm exhaust fan to expel humid air when the kiln is in full operations. Once the heat is on in the kiln, the heat will push out the moisture in the logs and that causes humidity and that needs to be expelled. To accompany the...

I'm not sure what Gen motor I have whether it's the 3 or 4 as I have seen from your comments some have the Gen 3 and some have the Gen 4 with the 2023 model. But also I'm not sure if it's a smart device either lol I have been told that it is, I just don't want to purchase and possibly fit tye wrong chip. Any information would be greatly appreciated 👍

The issue with all processors irrespective of capability or price point is that they work best with consistently sized logs and even then split sizes can vary, which necessitates resplitting. I only get Tree Service wood and I like small splits hence my preference for my trusty Thor electric vertical splitter. However, you get a lot of equipment for the money with the Bossworth.

Nice one mate! Mega fan that! Will replace the air very fast in there! I would put heat source about where you are saying as long as it’s above the hight of an ibc. Thank you Archie, i appreciate you taking the time to comment. I wouldnt have bought the fan if it was new but the fan was local from a bulk container buy and it was cheap. Yes i was thinking the hot air inlet should be at the highest point. I also feel like ive made a mistake and ive put a hole in the top side of the left side door thinking the air will force down. It can be corrected or covered over so its not all bad but i was thinking of using the gravity flap vents so when the hot air is being pushed in it will close the vent and then when the fan is on it will open the gravity vent and pull fresh air in. Maybe its an experiment but it can be changed if needed. Thank you again buddy, appreciate you commenting 👍

Thank you as always Evan, i appreciate your comments. yes the bigger pieces can be caught and split again into smaller pieces but ive just gotta pick my wood now and i think that will be the key to efficient splitting. Nothing compares to the kinetic splitter but im trying to reduce the amount of times handling the wood and i think this might just be the key to it. Thank you again buddy 👍

Hey Nick, nice machine. Looks like it has an out feed issue or don’t you need to have someone clean out the splits? Once you work out the kinks and get a flow you’ll be rocking and rolling. Have a good one buddy.

Hey buddy and thanks for commenting. The outfeed conveyor was running good as far as i recall, maybe the tension needed adjusting. I need to install a debris cleaner on the end of the conveyor to clean out the rubbish for sure. Yes i just need to use it more and more and im sure ill become very comfortable with the processor. Thanks again buddy 👍

Nice machine. Interested to see the speed when using greener material. Nice weather for it! Cheers Dave.

Hey Dave 👋 thank you buddy, yes on greener logs im sure it will be much much different. That spruce was tough and it exploded when i was splitting it. The macine held up great though. Thanks again buddy, hope you are doing well 👍

Thank you very much for the continued support, it seems so long ago when the first videos went out. That Jansen splitter is still the GOAT 😆 Hard work pays but now i need to start focussing on the improvements of the yard and the building. Thank you very much buddy 👍

Way to go Nick, all you need to go with that is a recliner and snacks 😂. Seriously very nice processor, does he have a log deck to go with it? You’ll be knocking out firewood like pro

    • @everydaywithmenick
      @everydaywithmenick หลายเดือนก่อน

Ooh a recliner would be awesome but then id think id get nothing done. Yes there is a log deck to be had but ill have to start saving some pennies up for that. it would be very useful and more efficient having one for sure. I think in the mean time, ill have to make something to suit as a dead deck for the processor. In order to keep up with firewood sales, i had to get something to do the full job and reduce handling of wood. Thank you very much as always 👍

@@everydaywithmenick yeah the performance of the 6 way especially was very disappointing & you really need that to be spot on. This looks a much better design. Fingers crossed it keeps smashing em out for you.

Yeah brother. I'm so excited for you. This is a game changer. Way to keep it hush. I don't know if i could have done that. I can't wait to see what you do with this. That's a kicka$$ truck too but the steering wheel is on the wrong side lol. So many great things in this video I almost forgot to comment on the cool lawn mower. Congrats my friend. Have fun!

Hey good buddy 👋 good to hear of you buddy. I know, i kept this one a little bit on the down low. I was just playing it day by day with this one. it was a kind of unplanned purchase with no prior thought process 😆 Well the Unimog is an animal for sure, very capable machines and an all round workhorse. Yes the Ransomes triple gang is a pretty good machine and gets the fields cut very quickly and it leaves a good finish also. Thank you as always good buddy, hope your keeping well buddy 👍

@rayettaforbes1068 hi and thank you for commenting. Also thank you for your concern on my dogs. These dogs are of working breed and have been around machinery and tools for all their lives and are very familiar with their boundaries. If I say move from the area they know. But thank you for your concern, you will see them a lot in my videos, they're my woodyard buddies.

Sawdust bucket is a great idea! I keep my tape measure in the same place I saw yours in the beginning of the video 😀. If you move the saw head to a place you can sit on a bunk to change blades it’s much more comfortable, can also raise the height up as well while doing so. Thanks for the video.

Hey James and thank you for commenting. The sawdust bucket was one of the first things i did on the OS27 because i had so much sawdust going everywhere and the clean up was a chore i didnt care for. The winch cover is a perfect place for the tape measure storage area 😆 and you know where it is for the next time. Yeah i just end up changing blades in a good way or a bad way for me, sometimes its at the right place and other times i just change where ever it stops. Thank you again buddy 👍
