Kendrick doesn’t just hate Drake. Kendrick legit thinks Drake is the villain of the culture. He despises not just Drake, but the idea that Drake exists. Like Kendrick hates that someone could be Drake. He wants no more Drakes forever.
Pretty much sums up the beef.
So basically in context, Kendrick has a huge hateboner for Drake

To Connor’s point, the reason it’s sus that Drake is hiding that he has a kid, maybe even two is that it’s a touchy subject in the black community about fathers sometimes not being there for their kids, and racist anti black people often use that as slight against them.
Also because Drake has zero excuse not to be there as a father but still wants to play the field at 37. Kendrick is a proud father and husband so to him it’s pathetic how Drake behaves.
Deadbeat fathers are everywhere but for complex historical and social reasons it’s especially a sensitive topic for the black community.

Then Kendrick proceeded to drop 4 fucking disses annihilating Drake, and if you listen to *"meet the grahams"* & *"Not Like Us"* Kendrick pretty much beheaded Drake and dropped a nuke at his funeral.💀
I'll be honest Taylor Made made me laugh. Love a good troll lol
Taylor made was a good troll, and Kendrick obviously took offense, so mission accomplished. Problem is Drake didn't really have any ammo to back that up when Kendrick finally responded
Kendrick is the one who started the beef, Drake just accepted a challenge he wasn't ready for, which he gets some respect for even after losing.
@@ledah0012 Yeah I respect that Drake actually accepted the fight, the big mistake was mentioning Kendrick's wife on "Push Ups" which led to Kendrick mentioning Adonnis in "Euphoria" and everything snowballed from "Who's the best?" to "I want you to die".

- Kendrick Lamar said calmly
Trash Taste is great, they talk about a wide variety of topics but I've noticed they rarely, if ever, touch on any topics related to the black diaspora or culture. I'm black, african to be specific, born and raised, now this is NOT to say that they have any obligation to do this, they absolutely do not, same as how someone shouldn't expect me to touch on or be knowledgeable on like, Welsh culture for example. They don't have any ties to that culture or (seemingly, outside of maybe Joey) any real interest in it and most of their guests aren't black either (not that I've seen at least, they may very well have had a black guest star and I just never watched/listened to that episode, I am not claiming to have seen every single episode of Trash taste).
So, this was interesting for me to watch. There's a ton of missed context, lack of nuance and so on. But I'm still happy to have seen them try and touch on this. The only other time I can think of is when Joey went to South Africa (my neighbour country) and they briefly discussed that.
Anyway, I need to emphasize, this is NOT to create any sort of controversy. I love Trash Taste and the guys, it was just nice to see them tackle something so outside their comfort zone and it made me feel seen...ish.

J. Cole's track wasn't bad, it was just a warning shot and people thought he went way too soft. And he didn't apologize because it was so bad; he apologized because he said he felt forced to write the diss but he can't find it in his heart to actually try to insult someone whose artistry he appreciates. And he's said that in the past, so it's not like it's out of the blue. Still funny, tho. Now he's chilling at the beach while Drizzy is over.
Kendrick and drake been beefing since 2013 Kendrick made a verse talking about how he will be the best but did it in way where he shouted out his peers. For some reason drake took offense and that was history
Joey really was trying but as soon as I heard “normally rap beef doesn’t go this hard” and then having him explaining the “start” of Drake and Kendrick’s from J Cole’s big three line…yeah I knew it wasn’t gonna be explained super well 😂😂
Kendrick's proven himself to basically be an irl super villain. Man analyzed Drake's M.O. and had songs crafted to counter all of Drake's accusations loaded into the chamber. I wish I could be that much of a hater 😅

I was waiting for Joey to try explaining the beef to Connor and Garnt through anime terms
The lore for this beef goes back to 2013 on Big Sean's song control. In that song Kendrick states that he wants to be so much better than Drake, J Cole and several other popular rappers that he steals their fans. Drake took that personally and the two of them have been sneak dissing each other in their music for the past 10 years. This was so big because they have been edging the hip hop community about this for a decade.
Joey explaining the beef to Connor and Garnt was like me explaining it to my older sister who knows almost nothing about rap beef.🤣
Those who aren't really into rap but are kind of interested now should check out Kendrick's work, starting with his album "good kid, m.A.A.d city." Kendrick's albums are written as stories, so listen to it from the start to the end and read the lyrics too to make sure you grasp what he's talking about. It's good stuff, talking about how and where he grew up, very socially conscious stuff. Kendrick is also known for his double entendres so people love to really break down his work line by line to find subtle or hidden meanings and stuff.
it’s not just mean Joey. Kendrick accuses Drake of sex trafficking. idk why people gloss over this shit. maybe connor would take this a bit more seriously if you guys mentioned the shit that was actually said outside of the quoteables on not like us.
It's like celebrities are untouchable by the law up there, feels like fiction to me.
did you even watch the video? Joey literally ELI5 what meet the grahams is all about because connor is such a monkey
shut up bro. This is the reason your father left you. You jinx
I mean, Drake also lied stating that Kendrick's kid isn't his and that he beats on his wife. no proof either. The reason most ppl don't stand up for allegations against Drake is because Drake does have a dude with multiple recent counts of sex trafficking on payroll and Drake moves weird and is in dms with underaged girls as young as 14.
Please research Baka not nice, then you would understand why Kendrick says that which is very valid.
Also metro dropped a worldwide dissramental for the world to rap on
I didn’t expect the boys to know every single thing about hip hop culture, but to see how little they did know and to hear Connor just be like “I don’t care” was like “wooowwww”. Because that’s something I’m passionate about and it’s my culture too. Just thought it would’ve been cool to see people interested in the culture. I notice that’s a thing with a lot of Japan TH-camrs. There’s just this bubble that they don’t go out of, and it makes us feel like we don’t really belong in their space. I’m not saying it’s wrong to stick to what you know, but I just feel like it would be better if I didn’t feel excluded and thrown off to the side whenever my culture’s brought up.
I think they’re just rich internet kids that never had to learn about Black American culture for better or for worse. But yeah in general saying “I don’t care” makes for bad conversation, especially when it’s a podcast lol
I think you are reading too deep into it. As a black man who listens to hip hop, I could care less about what drama happens in the country music space, or rock music space. Connor didn't say "I don't care about black people." , he just isn't into hip hop, and thats okay. Everyone is allowed to have preferences in music, dating/marriage partners, work, games, etc. Seeing Joey try and give them the background on it was pretty funny, considering this beef between Kendrick and Drake goes back years and didn't start with "First Person Shooter". Would it have been better for Connor to just said nothing at all and been quiet this entire segment? He did interact with the other aspects of the conversation as far as drama as a topic.

Rap comes in all shapes and sizes you’re bound to find THAT song or THAT artist thats your cup of tea.
I personally think it’s important to be open to learn about different cultures and people instead of constantly saying “yeah I don’t care!” and “I Don’t get into said cultures because I’m white” ( which is ridiculous by the way, most rap fans are whiter than snow lmao)
Like for the longest time I also wasn’t that interested in European culture? Till I gave it a shot and started learning about knights, kingdom’s, queens/kings, history, Mythology and I thought it was pretty dope? at least I gave it a shot instead of going “yeah I’m not the right race to get into European culture”
At least joey is trying something new which is pretty neat, seen him and Aki traveling to different places and learning about whole new cultures and people and I thought that was also pretty neat.
Nah,for these people it's due to their subconscious biases and racism ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES to black people and their culture/s
They'd rather watch and listen to non-black people who've appropriated black culture(k-pop and their fashion being a very HUGE EXAMPLE) than actual black people 'cause they're 'less intimidating' or what's basically in their minds 'look less intimidating',but then they'll wonder or foam at their mouths as to why black people are advocating for their representation and whatnot when most of what media portrays of them is mostly based on fucking racist ass caricatures, stereotypes etc
I kid you not,if hip hop was of east Asian or white origin most of these non black people or anime fans would've known all about it...thank white supremacy/standardization/hegemony for all of this bullshit smh
How to feel judged by your rap hating friends and how to do a criminal disservice to one of the biggest cultural events in the past decade if not two decades

Kendrick has made me realise i am not hating my enemies enough. I am not trying hard enough to hate.
Kendrick 100% has a person in Drake's camp.
Kendrick's last album was released 2022 may not 2020. Mr. Morale and the big steppers.
This is peak american culture connor you wouldn't get it 😂
Trash Taste Highlights, This is fantastic! I subscribed right away!
I would like the Drake era to end so that I can visit Toronto without my ears being constantly assaulted by Drake music.
Also I suppose these guys aren't familiar with 90s rap if they think any of this stuff is new.
Joey explaining the Kendrick Drake rap beef if like me explaining the Fate series watch order to my friends
I feel like there is a lot left out of that description of the beef which is very sad
i didn't expect this to reach trash taste
The drama escalated into a one-sided massacre once MtG dropped lol
Connor not knowing who J Cole is. Is so funny I can’t even.
For some reason i saw the thumbnail and read the title as the "Connor vs. Drake beef"
I'm excited to get the run down on this issue from such esteemed experts of the topic
Connor "I thought the was just rappin" LMAO the reaction to this whole event , look up 2pac and Big E. connor and Joey
I love how these dudes act like they’re above all of this
You know a beef is big when the weeb collective is commenting on it 😆
Being serious though, the one absolute positive of this whole beef is that people are going back and really appreciating how good Kendrick's last album (Mr Morale and the Big Steppers) was.
This is the last place i expected to hear about this beef
It was loud enough that they heard it through their bedrooms
3 non-american weebs overanalyze rap beef
3:23 That’s not the reason why he took down the song, Joey.
How beautiful it is to realise that these three literally represent the society, like one is totally up to date about a trend.....the other decided to hop on the hype train and get to explore that world more...... meanwhile there's the third person who's totally unbothered by everything, even after getting to know it all
2:00 it's not Drake that said the big three. It's JCole. It's part of JCole verse.
This beef has transcended genres of You tube
To say that Kendrick destroyed Drake on a molecular level, is an understatement. I think it was his first diss track, the background track only used the white keys of the piano to imply that Drake isn't black and needs to stop using "their word". Also used only minor keys to further imply that Drake was attracted to minors, which he directly references in the song he released afterwards....... It was crazy lol
You know, if *anime* nerds are talking about Kendrick v Drake Beef, you know it's phenomena.
The only thing Cole's diss lacked was hatred. It's like calling a great streak inedible shit because you wanted pork. Then again being touched over a take from a podcast called trash taste is too funny, I'm not doing it.
These three are the last people I'd expect to talk about this
Bit weird to even discuss this if 1 guy doesn't care and the other 2 didn't even bother to look into the actual roots of the beef smh.
Stick to anime and leave the issue alone or actually look into it in a meaningful way if you're going to comment or you look like you're just trying to ride a wave while sounding ignorant.
1:51 Wrong they was beefing even WAY before that lol
Sneak disses mostly
@@thelordkk512 ...did you not hear the 2013 BET Cypher th-cam.com/video/h65f8CR7AmA/w-d-xo.html
The beef started 2011 the beef has been going on for 13 years 😂
This is almost par for the course as far as rap beef goes. Rap fans were eating from this 😤
Drake fans in the comments section are crazzzyy 😂😂😂😂
Trash Taste talking about rap beef?
So unprecedented!
i don’t think j.cole apologized cause the track was trash i think it’s cause j.cole just tends to keep his peace
The big 3 thing has been going on for like a decade but that's a nice way to start the conversation
Kendrick roasted Drake so hard that Drake can no longer say the n word or use a whole chord in any of his songs 😭
He still can say it but I get the joke 😂
