- The final battle of Fire Emblem Gaiden using my translation patch. Man, I'm a little overleveled, heheh. Also tried getting a Triangle Attack, but you can't touch Judah except for on turn 4, 8, 12, etc.

Funny how it looks like a complete tone shift in the visuals of the map between Gaiden and Echoes.
In Gaiden, it looks like you're fighting in a volcano. In Echoes, it's more like a cave/swamp.
I actually think the swamp cave works better. It was rotten and decaying, which pairs well with Dumas mind becoming corrupted.

i’m almost shocked how accurate echoes kept like 90% of the maps. Echoes is my favorite game but sometimes it goes a bit overboard with faithfulness

I would not have patients for how slow this game seems to go.
I've never really seen any footage of the NES Fire Emblem games but, OH MY GOD. How did Nintendo manage to do 3:35? That size of a sprite is just...WOW....talk about working with limitations.
It's also a late era NES game, so they'd had more time to learn how to use it to it's fullest potential. Kirby's Adventure is a good example of this, and I think SMB3 is too.

it's amazing how well preserved this is in Echoes. I think a few more units may've been added (and of course Jedah's immunity mechanic has been changed from every fourth turn to every fourth attack) but otherwise that's about it.

As one of the other commentators noted, two games later, in Fire Emblem 4, Genealogy of the Holy War, they have even more bosses. They have 4-5 different castles that you need to capture, each of which is guarded by a boss of some kind. They have an enemy boss with a holy axe. They also deploy later on a boss with a holy lightning tome, and at around the same time a trio of boss Pegasus Knight sisters.
The final castle, in addition to the final boss, is guarded by 12 elite undead warriors known as the the Deadlords, with each Deadlord being pretty boss-like on their own.

Well, tbf in FE4, each Castle is treated as its own mini battle within a bigger map. You don't fight each of the 3-5 castles at once.
Each batallion/castle of that game is protected by some kind of boss going from "Average unit with better stats" to "Let's just pray that the OP unit can deal with this BS"
But yeah, the 12 Warlords are just a final gauntlet before a final boss which can be or extremely easy or extremely horrible.
That Cliff's fire animation matches the sassiness he has in the remake.

It takes place on the same World as Akaneia is on. It's just another continent. I know this is an incredibly old comment but I felt I must share.
I played the original and played echoes, And I forgot that the warp in the original was on steroids so was surprised to see the warp.
This game is actually in FE1/3/11/12's universe, down to various characters from the first game being recruitable allies in Gaiden, like the Pegasus Sisters.

Actually, it’s the same universe as Genealogy, Thracia, Awakening and Fates. But Judgral is a far continent, and Awakening/Fates take place in a really distant future

Thank you for the patch. I think it's perfect! Man, I still remember the days (more than 10 years ago) when I played this game on the console and had to worry about the short-lived batteries which kept my saves. Now with a simulator I trained EVERYONE of my troops to be level 20 and I have to be careful not to be the enemies too fast haha

Lv 20/20 for all classes except classes on the myrmidon/mercenary/slayer class tree (who can level infinitely as long as you keep going villager>myrmidon>mercenary>slayer>villager) . The HP cap is 52 and the stat cap is 40.

It was lava in gaiden? why is it changed to poison in echoes? in gaiden it looks like you're fighting in literally hell which looks so much mark darker and epic?

maybe because the theme for the enemy was more into the corruption of what was once holy rather than being violence and power. (I know Duma is about power but he became corrupted because of his fate as being part of the dragon kind and he was turned into a shadow of himself)
but yeah lava would have been cooler but less practicable too
well logically you'll instantly burn to death by standing on lava. honestly I prefer lava because screw logic xD

I think can say that echoes is a very good remake
I can't believe how, in all aspects, echoes is completely superior to this game. It might be the best remake ever made in the sense of how much it makes everything better, including making the reunion between alm and celica much more touching and meaningful

Not that I'm complaining doe. Most fire emblem final battles are too easy in my opinion. Echoes was the *one* final battle that actually felt like a final battle and not a complete joke 💯

When I saw Cliff's stats I was like 0.0
When I played this the first time using a patch (I think it's the same as this one), I had Alm at level 17 or something.
It was funny, because the first time he attacked Doma he missed, then he criticaled him.
Did you know that critical hits can miss in this game? The crit chance is calculated apart from hit rate, so unlike other games a hit must be made before a crit can happen, crits are not as reliable, making this game have the 2nd wonkiest RNG in the series.

Doma is an evil God in the game's universe. As far as I know, this Fire Emblem game is not part of any before or after it.
