The flat spot/delay in the throttle is caused by you swapping to a decat mid pipe, this is correctable with a tune (please get a dyno tune over a flash tune, it’s more adjustable and better suited to variations from bike to bike) in all honesty you are missing out on so much of the bike by not having it tunned. My bike was actually slower when I deleted the cat, I had to ride it for 2 months before I could get it tunned. After the tune on the dyno - night and day better bike.
I had the same issue on a stock mt10. Feels like some dead spot in the middle of the throttle. Also, the seat was so hard and unpleased and felt like a wooden plank even seats on superbikes are not that bad. The fuel gauge is odd and unreliable, you can be riding in "full tank" but in a second it jumps to half, and 10mins later the fuel light turns on, why Yamaha even bothered to put it in the first place. I hated everything about the bike beside the engine character so I traded in for 2018 r1 and I'm much happier.
@@Fearless154 The odd gauge is due to the shape of the tank, the fuel level gauge can't got to the top of the tank due to that odd size, so it doesn't read change until half a tank - you should be reset the trip every refill anyway - that gets you a better idea (I have always done that on every bike I've owned even ones with awesome fuel gauges - just habbit) . Headlight that cracks is a problem. My 2018 began to crack after 2000km. Got it replaced under warranty and just Before I sold it I saw new cracks at 7000km. They cost 900 eur to replace if you have to do it without warranty. And headlight protectors dont help becouse they crack from the inside not from external things hitting it.
@Danny War Robots Ive not heard any explanations from Yamaha. Some countries have more issues than others it seems. Mine cracked both times under the colder part off the seson for me. Maybe that could be one off the explanations.
@Danny War Robots well you have always the risk off small rocks and things hitting the lenses. I would recomend lens covers. You can buy them for 20 bucks and they come in different collours also. Then you have done all you can do.
I just jumped off a 2016 zx10r ninja for a 2019 mt10.............. The MT10 is an absolute blast. Smiles for miles. My ninja was modified making 210bhp, my MT 10 is making 160 and its giving me much more on road! Highly recommend.
Not sure if the yamaha has it but my beemer has an extra tube on the filler neck that won't allow to fully filly the tank. It's so you don't accidentally flood the carbon canister. I removed my canister as well as the tube and can get several liters extra in the tank, about 30-50 miles further range depending on how I'm riding.

So technically you shouldn't have any delay when taking off, maybe on the freeway at 100 or higher you might not feel the bike that responsive...
you literally have no idea what the dude in the video said about the response, right? It might even be cause he changed exhaust and never tuned it. Its not always the ''wrong and right rpm''.
I had my mt10 back in 2017 and due to the throttle issue and the seat which was very hard and unpleasant for a naked bike. I traded the bike for 2018 R1 because I loved the engine but these small issues were pissing me off.

All the more reasons why the FZ/MT-07 is the best bike of the lineup. Not the most powerful, but absolutely the funnest and best bang for your buck. I got my red ‘15 new for $6025 USD out the door. 65 mpg, lightweight, best build quality of the bunch and enough power to have fun but not kill yourself. 👍🏻
Strange... I have a 2017 model and I've never had the issue with throttle response. I do have Akropovic full system exhaust, but even stock it was totally fine for me. 🤷 I totally agree with you on the fuel mileage and fuel gauge though. My brother has a 2018 gsxs1000, and has much better fuel economy. And that damn fuel gauge... I feel like that first 'tick' on the gauge is actually more than half a tank. It takes forever to get below it, but once it does, it seems like my low fuel warning flashes waaaay too quickly.
5 things the yamaha mt-10 hates about you... You've got nothing better to do with your time than to think of the most trivial and unimportant things that you could find to moan about on this bike, that have no impact on the way it rides and goes about it's business... As for the throttle having little or no response to your inputs on the twist grip,i think the biggest problem with the throttle is that you don't know how to use it in the correct way,so rather than using that little limp twist of your wrist that you have, grab the throttle by the balls and ring it's neck to the redline in each and every gear, then you can learn to use the rear brake when your up on the back wheel and heading to the point where you can ride the bike properly with your stabilisers taken off and your first pair of big boy pants...lol
@@sufilms8878 what? why? I have mine since may 2018 without any issues... The only thing which could make any problem is the keyless system and even this can be resetted with some trick at home.
Ktm is nothing but weird electrical issues that are non stop it will always be in the shop even when buying brand new. I know two people with 390’s and 1 with the 1290. The smaller ones are useless they’ll be in the shop for 3 months at a time .
I hate to say this but you're picking it apart and complaining too much I just bought an mt10 and my seat is tight! I didn't find nothing wrong with it don't pick it apart
I take it youve never seen an a dyno readout of an unmapped motorcycle with the catalyst removed? Your bike is basically running lean now so when you twist the throttle the air/fuel level is all wrong as their isnt the back pressure. Also interesting comment about the seat. ive owned mt07, mt09 and mt10 and have never noticed the gap under the seat in two years of ownership! It is there though as i just went to the garage and looked. I then realised im so glad im not anal about bikes 🙏
The MT-10 cosmetic (and some functionality related) fit and finish is like a watermelon with 1 whole ream of Japanese origami paper cuts glued to it. Fit and finish shoddy. Gaps, sloppy seat, wires, hoses, pointless plastic bits. Very very ugly face (just look at the history of what Yamaha used to make, for contrast). Fussy and time consuming for washing. Headlight illumination garbage (compared to dual H4 large reflectors in previous FZ1). Bad RBW throttle calibration. Plan to spend hundreds on exhaust ECU flash. Sucks gasoline like a badly carbureted Chevy 454. Most uneven firing 4-bangers (ie. cross-plane in-lines, or V4) suck gas compared to their equally powerful counterparts. More limited travel range than the previous FZ1 via tank capacity and consumption. More expensive insurance than previous FZ1.
TURBO TWINKIE i feel you probably soon enough you’ll get it...it took me 2 week to get it back from Forth Myers FL with shipping!!! Trust me...didn’t feel the same with the flash you gonna enjoy it for sure ! Cheers from east coast canada 🇨🇦
You wrote a Mt09 before?
Yes I have :)
TURBO TWINKIE did you like it?
I consider buying one, I'm currently on an mt07.
This bike just too expensive but awesome! MT-09 baby!
Agreed!
@@TURBOTWINKIE MT-10 much better if it's in right hands. MT-09 is more of a bike to commute on and do low speed wheelies.
No comparison. MT-09 factory suspension is complete garbage. MT-10 has world-class R1 quality suspension
throttle delay? having a laugh? you must have a broken one
Serious amount of nit picking there.. 😅
Почему мне кажется что я слышу у тебя русский акцент ?
Just ride the thing, stop whining!!
Remap it with a power commander, seriously.
Forget the pc. Just flash it.
Strange... I have a 2017 model and I've never had the issue with throttle response. I do have Akropovic full system exhaust, but even stock it was totally fine for me. 🤷
I totally agree with you on the fuel mileage and fuel gauge though.
If you hate it gave it to me lol
Just here.....mimimi than by another bike!!😂😏
You’re just nitpicking!
Haha yeah the 6 mm gap between the gas tank that collects dust🤷😂😂😂
Get a 2017-2019 KTM 1290 Superduke R - it will solve most of these problems 😉
Yes, and you will get reliability issues. SD R is a great bike to ride, but not so great to own.
@@sufilms8878 what? why? I have mine since may 2018 without any issues...
The only thing which could make any problem is the keyless system and even this can be resetted with some trick at home.
gaben8206 count your blessings and appreciate your luck. Superduke performs well but is notoriously unreliable
Ktm is nothing but weird electrical issues that are non stop it will always be in the shop even when buying brand new. I know two people with 390’s and 1 with the 1290. The smaller ones are useless they’ll be in the shop for 3 months at a time .
or a vmax
I hate to say this but you're picking it apart and complaining too much I just bought an mt10 and my seat is tight! I didn't find nothing wrong with it don't pick it apart
You just hate this bike..LOL
I take it youve never seen an a dyno readout of an unmapped motorcycle with the catalyst removed? Your bike is basically running lean now so when you twist the throttle the air/fuel level is all wrong as their isnt the back pressure.
Also interesting comment about the seat. ive owned mt07, mt09 and mt10 and have never noticed the gap under the seat in two years of ownership! It is there though as i just went to the garage and looked. I then realised im so glad im not anal about bikes 🙏
Omg!
Yamaha have the best engin in the car. Shipp. Cyklet.
remove rear pegs and flash ecu at moore mafia.. quit yer cryin!
dae kuta kayan nag bakal lapota ka kadakol mo reklamo
I'm done with this video
@@keithcarr5905 Are you just upset someone isn't bowing down to worship the machine god, perhaps that you venerate very much?
😂🤣 so true
Booooo
Yeah I’m probably skip this bike and get a scrambler
I dont like them not my thing
Biggest waste of 5 minutes of my time EVER
lol sell the bike its not meant for you
