    ECU Flash Install/Impressions Yamaha MT-10/FZ-10
    For this video I decided to flash tune this 2018 Yamaha MT-10. This time instead of doing everything myself, I went ahead and sent the ECU out to 2WDW. I've also included a tutorial on how to remove the ecu for those who are wondering. Although the wait time was very long due to international shipping, in the end I was quite happy with the results. Watch the video to find out whether this ecu tune is worth it.

    I recently flashed my 2019 R1 which is very similar to your MT10's engine. I had the exact same delay issue. I took it to a local tuner. They used FlashTune software to load an "unrestricted" map that is a "one size fits all" for my particular bike. I recently did a cat delete which inspired me to get this done. In addition to the remap, I lowered the fan temps, removed the top speed limiter, reduced engine braking and disabled the EXUP valve check engine light. It was worth the $250 spent. The throttle is buttery smooth with no delay, the bike runs cooler, the torque is vastly improved in the mid range. The power gains are noticeable throughout the rev range. This is how the bike should have come from the factory!

      @@Seanype It's loud. I wear earplugs. Once you get above 40mph, the wind noise overtakes the exhaust noise, so it's not terrible, but there are days when a quieter exhaust would be nice.

    Smooth throttle, buttery quickshifter. Don't worry about your brakes , plenty good enough for the street. Change the pads to something different. If u piss around with changing the brakes you'll likely affect the cruise control.

    So I have a 2021 and absolutely love it and plan on pulling my ecu out this weekend to have it flashed by 2wdw like you did, how much hp and torque gain do you really get out of the bike? Yamaha says from factory they’re making 160hp with 81 ft lbs of torque but when I look at the flash that 2wdw does the bike actually loses five hp but gain 1.5 ft lbs. so is Yamaha lying to us about the power it actually makes?

    You still running the stock engine headers? That's where significant power gains can be had, as a general rule with motorcycles. Exhaust scavenging is not very good with stock headerpipes in general, especially if there are burrs/flashing blocking smooth gas flow, "power" valves, smaller than appropriate diameters, lack of pipe taper, etc.
    The main thing with ECU flashes is cleaning up the calibration, removing low-gear power limits, removing secondary throttle plate restrictions, cleaning up engine AFR's and making it run consistent and cooler (environmental restrictions make them run HOT).

    • @TURBOTWINKIE
      @TURBOTWINKIE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup still have the stock headers, although would be cool to have more power I cant really justify spending big chunk of change on a new graves or akra system. You gotta modify the WHOLE system if you wish to have gains. Filter, airbox, headerpipes, muffler. Everything has got to be unrestricted and your fueling/ignition has to be re-calibrated. To verify actual gains, a dyno run before and after under the same climate conditions (temp, humidity, pressure), the same fuel conditions (octane), and the same lube conditions (engine oil, drive chain cleaned and oiled, tire pressures appropriate, dyno strapping at the same pressure) is an accurate way to assess exactly what's going on.

      North America calculates octane differently than Europe. Your 91 is our 87. Also, octane rating has nothing to do with quality. Get the lowest octane fuel your manual calls for. You're just wasting your money and get less efficient combustion otherwise.

      SV650NYC yeah people just assume since they have expensive vehicles they need to use expensive gas. But the different gas types just depends on the compression output of your engine (which e85 is really the only truly special type that you may need in a high performance vehicle). So really it’s just a money scheme to get more money out of the ignorant.
