I was an early adopter, still got my 2016 MT10. Brilliant bike and I've done 31,000 miles with no issues. Surprised a wobbly seat didn't make the list.
@@BikeLikeMike92 You're probably much lighter than me but what happens is the rubber stops under the seat over time compress. The other annoyance when tank range is so short is the thing inside the top of the tank that stops you absolutely brimming the tank. (It's probably there to keep an expansion space and stop you putting the nozzle in too far) If you're careful you can slowly squeeze an extra litre in the top
my only issue with the 2022 mt10 is that the seat is utter rubbish. my last 3 R1s were more comfortable which is impressive. oh and on the issue with the key, i highly recommend you never have more than just the bike key on the bike, had a short lanyard and a charm on mine that actually got stuck in between the tree and frame that almost caused me to crash in a corner because it would not let me turn the bars. other than that i have no complaints. @@BikeLikeMike92
A bunch of keys? Why? I only have one key on my bikes. It saves scratching the headstem and surrounding area. All other keys should be on a separate keychain. Great video btw
good on you I have trouble keeping track of one key never mind two sets. I have to have my house key to get back in and my mailbox key because I have rural mail out on the highway so when I ride duhh i grab the mail coming home and then there is the key to my other motorcycle otherwise I'd have to have two sets of keys then there is my little keychain med holder cause some of us need to carry a couple pills for emergencies It does suck having all the stuff scraping around the ignition switch or dangling off the fuel cap....although I have an idea how to make the locking cap non locking. My idea is to remove all the pins except one from cap lock cylinder then make a key that cant start the bike can only open the cap then cut off the top leaving just enough to braze on a little metal peg then just leave it in the cap pretty much always... should be enough room the flip top closes over nub peg top key....can still pop it off if staying at a hotel or something otherwise will appear to be fully secured cap...one the real key still can open if I had to but not having to fool with keys with the nub key in place would be really nice on my MANY stops for gas!
You are right and wrong at the same time. If you ride an Aprilia, a Ducati or KTM fuel consumption is even worse than Yamaha MT-10. They have bigger engines they produce more (unstable power) therefore they need more fuel. Also they are very annoying down low in the reverse range. On city ride they are a big drama. About the Kay hole you are right, but at the same time you shouldn't use all those keys on a motorcycle. FYI I own an MT-09 SP 2022 and an MT-10 2023 SP. Both tuned by me with Woolich racing.
I have a 2024 SP one owned multiple bikes in the last 25 years from fireblades to a zzr1400 and I will say that this bike is the absolute best bike I’ve ever owned it’s comfortable and fast as hell and the sound turns heads everywhere I go
For the key being under the clutch cable, I've taken a memorial ribbon of a friend that passed, and I've used it as a cable keeper by tying it to the handlebar. It was very first thing I did to the bike. My throttle also had a lateral wiggle that I used a bit of small rope to act as a spacer between the starter button and handle.
As a 2017 MT-10 SP rider I can relate to all of the stated points. But man, I still love this bike so much. Rode the 2023 model last year, but that made me realise my Dyno tuned GEN1 is still such a beast! Not trading it in anytime soon.
honestly most of the new electronics on my 23 I dont use or appreciate much...even cruise control I mean it is an easy throttle so it is not tiring to just hold it open. And I dont use for the 10 for touring anyway that is my tracer 9gt's job If I were looking for a used one I'd just shop condition and price not year. The 10 is my play bike! romping the twisties!
add to the list: 1) no fuel range remaining display 2) cruise control doesn't work in 3rd gear (4th and above) makes it hard to use in 30 mph zones where it would be very useful
Good review. Fuel gauge definitely, fuel consumption, I'm getting 41mpg, which is nice, the rear fins behind the seat look worryingly flimsy but I can cope with all the shortcomings by how it goes and looks. A gem of a bike.
41 mpg? WHICH gallons? lol maybe not US gallons? I assume? ? I get low 30's mpg US gallons less even if I am really on it in the twisties...."fins"? what fins? R1 has fins
To be fair - bike tank shape, size, non-stop positional changes etc etc, all of those make measuring volume of fuel in the tank a nightmare. I am not surprised at all that the first bar on the gauge represents 50% - it is probably the closest to reality that the sensor can reasonably get. Ride safe!
my 2022 gets fairly decent fuel mileage for the most part i think it averages around 38mpg but i hate how the fuel gauge will fool you from half to full its still this way on the new gen. I do find myself wishing it had a larger tank it definitely doesnt seem to last as long as my zx10r did but not a deal breaker by any means
@@ssky-rt9nm my fz-10 2017 averages 28 mpg, I accelerate sorta quick and only am going an average of 40mph.. The bike definitely likes highway speeds waaaaay more when it comes to fuel consumption
@@willl84 oh wow interesting yea you would never know it either because mine will still power wheelie in 4th gear if i pull up on the bars a bit and 3rd will power wheelie with just throttle only such a beast!

I have owned a 2017 Yamaha MT-10 for a few years now and have almost 10,000k's on it and I love almost everything about it. Things I don't like- The fuel usage really isn't that bad but is a concern when going on long rides, the seat is absolutely garbage and needs to be thrown in bin and buy an aftermarket seat asap, the stock exhausts is garbage, the Fluro rims get dirty really fast, the stock mirrors are ugly, the rear tail number plate thing is disgusting and the bike desperately needs a tune because the standard Yamaha fuel map is horrible but apart from that and a fair few dollars spent on after market stuff the bike is an absolute sexy beast with lots of power and sounds insane with a good straight pipe exhaust.
Had a 2017 FZ10 great bike but ugly, just got a 2023 MT10 SP and still not the best looking bike but much better than original and SP colors are great. Its a great street bike with fantastic suspension - electronic Ohlins, very comfy, best motor and sound, superb handling, brakes are fine for streets and almost no vibration thru grips - big deal for me. Just sold my 2020 Tuono 1100 Factory as I replaced it with this Yamaha and have no regrets - great bike!
I’ve had my 2020 MT 10 for a year now and concur with everything you have said. Hoping to take mine away to France this summer and wondered about fuel consumption so this has helped. (I live on a small island with no motorways so having a better idea of motorway fuel consumption is helpful) Running a full Austin Racing Exhaust on mine if anyone new to the MT is looking for a disgustingly obnoxious sound for their MT 10 I highly recommend those cans. 😂
In the UK, unless 90%+ of your riding is done via motorway, the 10 averages 85-100miles on a tank + reserve. Just reset one of the 2 trip meters when you fill up. Vastly more reliable to do that and compare it to whether the gauge is under half or not. Then again, i daily my MT so I know exactly the sort of mileage I get based on my riding to the point i only really check the fuel gauge if I'm on the last black bar before it flashes vs my mileage to see roughly what I have left before I fill up again. Initially I hated the fuel gauge like yourself, but it didn't take me long to figure out my mileage, and now it only gets a casual glance.
fuel consuption has never bothered me just stop every 100 miles and fill it up i have done that for 35 years on every bike i owned lol fuel gauge is a luxury we never used to have🤣🤣
My 2023 MT-10 looks a lot better than the 2017. But you are dead on with the fuel consumption. Mine says 40 miles per gallon, not a chance. Mine also weighs 467 pounds but im i really big guy at 6'2 260 pounds. It feels like it was built specifically for me when i ride it. Personally i love my MT-10 to death, its bu far the most fun bike ive ever rode. The mid range power is crazy, i can school an R1 through corners especially on the exits. And im comfortable all day. I had 3 R1's since 2003 and they have all felt like ive been beat up at the gym after an 8-12 hour hard ride.
@Adrenalean767 Shake your head all you want. It's not going to change anything. Just because it's not something you can do doesn't mean that it isn't done by other people. I could explain it to you, but I'm sure you would just shake your head again.
Respect big fella, 8-12 hours on my Ducati 848 I wouldn't make it out alive haha I'd be gooey jelly. Tried the 2023 R1 and it was actually way more comfortable than 848
I’m getting somewhere between 38 and 40 miles to the gallon depending on how I ride on my 2023 MT 10. I don’t care I didn’t buy it for fuel economy. I bought it for the wild beast that it is! I generally don’t ride like a hooligan. However, I did have it cruising at 103 mph today on the highway. I guarantee you she was drinking fuel, cruising at those speeds.
I love the Gen 1 MT. I have the special porridge version. Love the eyes on the original....Gen 2 has been dulled by the euro4 bureaucrats with emissions and catalyst
I still lust after One for myself, just waiting for Grey/Yellow to pop up at the right price, with the right extras, and that has FSH and wheels that don't need refurbing (for some reason almost ALL the Yellow wheels need doing?)
I’ve seen a couple pop up but have noticed the prices are quite strong! Yeah the yellow wheels suffer for sure. Mine has a few odd stone chips on them. Paint wasn’t the strongest out the factory!
@@BikeLikeMike92 The only one even close to my price range right now, is £6895 has chipped wheels, chipped tank, rusty sprockets, and at 22k miles hasn't had the valve clearance yet! as you say..... strong money considering it's almost 7 Years old 😂
Shouldn't have to do it, but how about a zip tie to pull the clutch cable back towards the handlebars just enough to get the key past it, the same amount you move it with your fingers. In other words, don't cinch the zip tie all the way closed to where the cable is jammed against the handlebars, but rather just enough to move the cable back a little.
Good report. I'm about to buy a 2024.. The one thing that concerns me most is the teeny single HEADLIGHT. In dense traffic, I believe NO one will see that tiny twinkly LED.. especially the ocean of DEER in the eastern US. Over here, single headlights simply look weird; people yell out that you've got a bulb out, and in certain regions you may get pulled over for an equipment violation checks.
Yea I do agree, I’d like both lights to be on I’ve had the same where people have said I have a light out. I know many people just have full beam on all the time and I’ve also seen some home DIY jobs where they wire up the second light. I do think they are nice and bright however so I think safety wise a single light is ok.
@@BikeLikeMike92 "home DIY jobs where they wire up the second light." I would be VERY interested to know how they do that! Are there videos or tutorials anywhere?
The new one still has all the same issues but they are minor annoyances. Its pretty hefty when compared to my Sumo so I almost dropped it when tying to do a uturn when I first got it.
Had my mt-07 now for 2 years. I'm wanting an upgrade, power & speed is okay on the 07 but I want something more. Within the two years i've done 20kmiles on my 07. Alot of riding on challanging & diff roads. I always looked after my 07 & it's looked after me! 07 Is such a fun bike, great for city & weekend fun! I just am needing more, when I put more weight on my 07 feels unstable. This is what I need: hooligan when I want it to be. Weekend twisty fun very confident with traction & suspension keeping bike locked. highway maintained speeds & getting upto traffic speeds. long distance without shoulder back pain. good group rides easy to maintain (oil, fluids, air filter, spark ect) the bikes i'm thinking of 1290 r, 1290 GT & MT-10 I like the looks of the 1290's alot more then the MT-10. I just donno if the 1290 will be tame enough for me to enjoy more slower speed stuff.
I think you’ll know for sure if you go ride them all! Try them out. The MT can be both hooligan and tame. The 1290 is way more agricultural but can do everything on that list too. I loved the smoothness of the MT when I first rode it. Defo less build quality issues with jap bikes but like I said before… ride them!
@@BikeLikeMike92 Yea, I think riding them all will prob be my best bet if I can get my hands on them! I'm really hoping the 1290 isn't as bad as i;m thinking. I know the MT prob is quite smooth cause my MT even when I ride it like a mad man. It never does anything unexpected. The MT-10 is also quite a bit cheaper then the 1290. So i'll need to see if the looks & fun wise keeps up with that extra cash!
@@BikeLikeMike92 I'm worried about the mt10 having less low down torque than the mt07 yeah.. what do you think ?. I've test rode the mt10, but it was only 15min. Hard to really make a decision.
fuel guage is a constant issue across all yamaha products mt-09 is the same , it has one bar betweek full and half ( three bars then to empty )which is really only about a quarter of a tank , at that point you need to look for gas station you got like 100km at most. have a sidewinder as well same deal
I have a 2018 MT10 and if you use the gearbox the way it's supposed to be used ie use the higher gears for faster roads, then I don't find the economy that bad for the performance available. Also, don't get taken in by lots of poor economy reports from the US where they have silly little gallons of only 3.8 litres, instead of our larger 4.545 litre gallons.
same identical tank no matter where you are lol...who cares what units the fuel is sold in that seems lame! It is confusing though when a brit is bragging how many miles per gallon if one does not know the us gallon is smaller. But most of the world thinks in Liters ...btw I think a lot of americans pay less per liter (youd have to compute it though as it is not sold in liters) than a whole lot of other countries...whyever that is....american world politics or whatever I guess...MT-10 holds 4.5 US gallons but so what?
my fuel gauge is pretty decent on my 2022 mt10. the looks are amazing. the key is in a bad position i agree. nothing of your five reasons is so important for me. i wishthe fuel meter had another bar. also what annoys me in europe is the high price😂 other that that amazing bike!
I have a 2018 MT10, Got rid of an R1 to swap over so was used to the range. Still annoying though. Stopped me touring on it. But yes, single biggest bugbear is the key location.
I've got a 2007 r1 and a 2018 mt10 and I get at least 30 miles more out of the same fuel on the r1 with very similar riding style (fast) I've always had sports bikes and they have all been miles better on fuel than the mt10
@mcc_1024 yeah I did have a 2011 r1 as well. It wasn't great on fuel (when it started) was still better than the mt10 though. I loved that bike but hated how bad it was for starting even with a upgraded battery
I just bought an MT10 2024, a few weeks back. I was at the grocery store, tried to put the key in, it fell.... Not on the ground, somehow it tucked itself inside the front gas tank grill to the right (seated), STRANGE, and that feat was not easy. We took a coffee stirrer wrapped in tape, could'nt get it out. Fortunately, I mentioned I lived a mile away and have the other key at home, the manager told another guy to take care of me. Fry's Food store in Phoenix. I now always approach the key in from the front, not while seated, the clutch cable is annoying in the way, key is long, and I only owned the bike for 50 miles at the time, for perspective. Otherwise, it is an outstanding bike, I am over 200 miles, have some accessories ready to install at 600 mile 1st service. My bike, I call her Tron, with all of the teal and glow, yep. I guess I will see that extra key back at my first service. Also, the rear seat, you need to use the key opened to lock her in, you can't just shove it down. I say rear seat lol, the whole seat

I got 15 grand and after looking around for a while, I think this is the one i am going to get. My old tl1000r needs a break, and so does my back. Gas mileage sounds great! I get not even 90 miles on a tank with my TL!
You’re exactly right. Attempting to get that key in and out is icing on the cake for this piece of trash bike. Yamaha bring back the VMax!!! If Ducati can figure out how to sell the V-4, in many forms in Europe, so can you. If in fact, that’s why you discontinued the VMax.
The key thing I get but the rest would stop someone buying the bike in the first place but it didn't stop you. So I don't get it .I am sure the 2023 version, has hopefully improved all this or at least some

That clutch cable being in the way of the key ignition has always been a stupid yamaha design, had the same even on my 06 FZ6 drove me mad. You'd think in a decade yamaha could solve that problem somehow 🤦♂️

Comfort seat is a great addition. Can’t believe they haven’t changed the gauge but I suppose at least it has one! Nice to hear you’re riding it the right way 👍

The only thing i hate on my 2022 mt10 is the gas non stop feeder 😢 always on low gas .... and also the fact this thing cant go straight so much torque always drifts
That’s interesting! I was meant to ride a new one yesterday but the weather was a tad rubbish and I wanted to experience it properly without a twitchy bum.
@@mrboostification I had a chance to test the FZ1 many years ago. The MT-10 is clearly (far) superior on public roads. But then again, it drinks like an Irish bartender and really has too much power for that application - and so does the FZ1 by the way, which in comparison has little to no usably power in the tight twisties a like to ride on (or in other words is way to revy and therefore loud). Imo everything sporty above 130 bhp belongs on the race track. Torque rules on public roads.
@@intensegamer7559 mine has 148 whp is custom tuned on the dyno has no cats and front sprocket is 1 tooth smaller. It rips your face off. I don’t think you’ll go wrong with any generation! I personally don’t see much point in spending more on a newer bike when it’s not changed a whole lot. Buy exactly the one you want the most would be my advice
#1 and #5 are the same for my 2022 Tuono. I'm looking to get the Yamaha to replace my Aprilia. Italian reliability is just not there for me. The Japanese bike will be much better.
Not to get personal but about how much do you weigh? Im interested in the mt10 but im a taller slender guy about 6’1 145lbs 21yrs old do you think the weight of this bike is something that would seriously make a difference?
Nah I wouldn’t worry, it’s not that heavy. It’s more of a preference thing with the physical size of the bike compared to something like a tuono which is much more slender. I’m 5,10 and 190lb. It just makes some other bikes feel a bit skinny - nothing to really concern you!
I have an MT10 set up for touring with a straight through Akro exhaust and ECU flash by 2 Wheel DynoWorks. I get over 50mpg cruising and low 40's if I'm hammering. The stock fueling is too rich
@@BikeLikeMike92 It seems to also be effected by altitude. In the mountains (9000ft+) I get 3 or 4 extra MPG compared to at the coast (sea level). Not sure why...
Just googled it, very interesting! “Fuel economy improves at higher altitude in all engines because the pumping work is reduced. As you go up, a lower manifold vacuum is required. Also, aerodynamics comes into play too as the car/bike cuts through the thinner air much easier.” Pretty cool!
I got an FZ-10 with yoshi 3/4 setup and same flash from 2wheel Dyno. I'm getting like average 29mpg. 34 highway if I can really cruise the whole time. How the hell you get 50 LMAO

Because for one thing how do you NOT enjoy that motor just to try to extend range ? lol
Fuel economy is not everyone’s priority… it’s a great touring bike in the same way a Bentley GT conti is a great touring car. Sure I could buy a more boring car with a smaller engine to save fuel money… but really? I’ll stick with the awesome MT10 and spend more every time.
Its just touring sort of requires making it to the next gas and another thing re THAT is the MT-10 requires high octane which I have too many times found stations OUT of...it can be a real problem one not found on a really great touring bike I mean a lot of Hondas love regular fuel and tend to get better milage ,,,,I mean less power but we are talking touring attributes ....anyway for touring the EMPTY 10 can be quite annoying fuel range wise...i should know since thos is my bike too@@BikeLikeMike92

The only keys I have on my MT 10 is the ignition key and the key for the disc lock.
I use a single key and have a spare on my key ring in my pocket
I use one key on my mt10 and it still clashes with that clutch cable it is a stupid design
Most annoying thing, is:
I don’t own one 😩
😔… yet…🤩
Well you likely have saved a bundle on gasoline not to mention speeding citations...plus side to everything i recon
Hhaha same
You are right and wrong at the same time.
Totally agree! Haha
honestly most of the new electronics on my 23 I dont use or appreciate much...even cruise control I mean it is an easy throttle so it is not tiring to just hold it open.
Cruiser only works above 41mph. Tell you that in the mannal.
Honestly I've never once had an issue with the clutch cable going over the key on my 2019.
Good review. Fuel gauge definitely, fuel consumption, I'm getting 41mpg, which is nice, the rear fins behind the seat look worryingly flimsy but I can cope with all the shortcomings by how it goes and looks. A gem of a bike.
Thanks very much!
They are, mine are broken along with a few other panels.
lol, your mt 10 has better consumption than my mt03
😂
Much better than my FZ1 that averaged about 32 mpg.
@@ssky-rt9nm my fz-10 2017 averages 28 mpg, I accelerate sorta quick and only am going an average of 40mph.. The bike definitely likes highway speeds waaaaay more when it comes to fuel consumption
They went smaller on the rear sprocket for 22 (same as the R1) for better mpg
@@willl84 oh wow interesting yea you would never know it either because mine will still power wheelie in 4th gear if i pull up on the bars a bit and 3rd will power wheelie with just throttle only such a beast!
it's the first bike I ever had with a gauge. Been riding over 50 years. Gee whiz find something real to complain about.
Zip ties will hold clutch cable , clear of ignition/ key port .thanks video searching information on naked sport bikes ,as I intend to purchase one soon . Stay up on 2 an out the ditches
You will love it! Thanks for watching
Yeah I agree with all you say. Wheels chipping annoys me at the moment 😅. I haven’t had any seat issues however! A lot of
People mention this.
(I live on a small island with no motorways so having a better idea of motorway fuel consumption is helpful)
Running a full Austin Racing Exhaust on mine if anyone new to the MT is looking for a disgustingly obnoxious sound for their MT 10 I highly recommend those cans.
Initially I hated the fuel gauge like yourself, but it didn't take me long to figure out my mileage, and now it only gets a casual glance.
fuel consuption has never bothered me just stop every 100 miles and fill it up i have done that for 35 years on every bike i owned lol fuel gauge is a luxury we never used to have🤣🤣
Awesome. The MT10 is the best motorcycle ever produced. It has the comfortable position and the power you need to commute.

1.キーの位置またはクラッチワイヤーの処理が悪い。
2.燃費系の表示が足りない。
3.シートがグラつきタンクに干渉するので擦れて異音がするのと放置してるとタンクの塗装が剥がれる。

8-12 hour ride? Smh
Haha, glad to hear you bought it for the right reasons! Thanks for watching man!
I love the Gen 1 MT. I have the special porridge version. Love the eyes on the original....Gen 2 has been dulled by the euro4 bureaucrats with emissions and catalyst
gen two has more hp and torque
I still lust after One for myself, just waiting for Grey/Yellow to pop up at the right price, with the right extras, and that has FSH and wheels that don't need refurbing (for some reason almost ALL the Yellow wheels need doing?)
I’ve seen a couple pop up but have noticed the prices are quite strong! Yeah the yellow wheels suffer for sure. Mine has a few odd stone chips on them. Paint wasn’t the strongest out the factory!
Get one dude, i wasted so much money on other bikes over the last year, bit the bullet and brought one, the engine noise is to die for
@@BikeLikeMike92 The only one even close to my price range right now, is £6895 has chipped wheels, chipped tank, rusty sprockets, and at 22k miles hasn't had the valve clearance yet! as you say..... strong money considering it's almost 7 Years old 😂
The key location is something no one has mentioned before I only found out after getting my SP really annoying 😂
Could do! Personally would just annoy me seeing a cable tie there all the time 😂 I just let it annoy me on a daily basis and moan about it 😵💫😅
Good report.
You’ll have to do some googling I’m
Afraid. I think if I remember it’s ££££. But good luck!
The new one still has all the same issues but they are minor annoyances.
Its pretty hefty when compared to my Sumo so I almost dropped it when tying to do a uturn when I first got it.
Please dont say that, i was going to buy the new one
Thirsty yes, but I love mine.
This is what I need:
hooligan when I want it to be.
Weekend twisty fun very confident with traction & suspension keeping bike locked.
highway maintained speeds & getting upto traffic speeds.
long distance without shoulder back pain.
good group rides
easy to maintain (oil, fluids, air filter, spark ect)
the bikes i'm thinking of 1290 r, 1290 GT & MT-10 I like the looks of the 1290's alot more then the MT-10.
@@BikeLikeMike92 I'm in the same position. What I'm worried about is the torque down low compared to a mt09 or a mr07.
What are you worried about!? Having more of it! 😃
Funny when folks complain about a bike they buy being big. Might be something to figure out before purchasing. 😁
@@coso6708the pre big bang R1 was always the best fuel wise. I had an 07 too before I got the big bang. It was a shock for sure lol
Dam! That’s a pretty bad first experience with the key! 😅
@@BikeLikeMike92 Thank you, recoverable, I mean, where on earth did it go? Just a right fairing open till you gather it first service, and the other stuff installed. I love this bike, just not in Phoenix in July, except 5am, just stupid hot

Other than that the bike has 49k miles did one clutch the common coolant leak. Other than this the bike has been quite reliable. She’s still going.
I’m 6’2 so the bike probably looks tiny on me. Throwing it around? Personal never had that issue. Once I removed the car the bike flings about quite well especially on the right tires.
The key issue is an issue even with a single key lol.
This bike is as close to perfect as motorcycles can get.
I find it very hard to even not pick. Because I just does everything else well
I got 15 grand and after looking around for a while, I think this is the one i am going to get. My old tl1000r needs a break, and so does my back. Gas mileage sounds great! I get not even 90 miles on a tank with my TL!

i agreed with the fuel gauge... even mt03 have a nice fuel gauge...
The rear pegs annoyed me on my Mt10.... Too close to the riders always hitting them with my feet.. Had to remove them..

There’s nothing really “wrong” with an MT10 😉 great choice in bike!
The most annoying thing by far is the MT-10s price point beside the fact that 166 bhp don't make any sense on public roads. Cheers
yes i agree and the prices already gone up more in Europe.. sad.
Fz1-N is the answer. i will never sell mine as long as i dont crash it. the mt10 is the successor of the fz1n
The best in Yamaha's segment is the MT09, I have tried the MT10, MT09 and the MT07.
Question for mt10 owners. Will a 6' guy look silly on it? I had an fz1 it was too small.
No, you’ll look great. It’s fine for the taller rider.

thats not bad fuel consumption by any means considering its a 1000 beast that beats supercars
The key thing... Turn the bar to the left, which makes space for your hand to handle the keys. Really...

@@BikeLikeMike92 It make it easier to insert the key.
I have an MT10 set up for touring with a straight through Akro exhaust and ECU flash by 2 Wheel DynoWorks. I get over 50mpg cruising and low 40's if I'm hammering. The stock fueling is too rich
That’s a great result!

Yeah in Switzerland having 250cc is risky already. Always made me laugh seeing sport cars worth probably more than my life and going 120 km/h on a highway 😂😂😂@@enricohagn
I've had sports bikes for years and never even had any points. And had a mt10 for 4 months had a section 59 for wheelies and been done for speeding twice 😂
I found a blue '18 with 1k mi (like new) for $9500 after buying a new mt09 last year. Keeping both for now but probably letting go of the mt09. Only getting like 25mpg when I'm really hammering it. Just the price of admission for the beautiful cp4.
Spoilt for choice! I like MT09, tried one the other day. But yea, the MT is a little more of a monster, the sound sells it to me too. I can’t help myself.
How does the mt09 compare in terms of torque down low ?
@@tempofugo168 MT-09 is a great bike but the 10 is still a step up in terms of power and torque. It’s much easier on the 10 to use the torque whereas you need to rev the 09 a bit more.
@@BikeLikeMike92 That's what I really wanted to know and it's very hard to get this information even looking at torque curve. So yeah, MT10 it will be for me. Did you test both ?
you really cant say its drinking too much fuel i compared others bikes with same fuel capacity its even. Ihad mt09 felt like it takes less, not its same but smalle tank. 200+km with 2-3 gear funs is enough. Had 2006 z1000 it had same fuel consumption. Having little remap it helps alot on eco mode
What other bikes did you compare? I’m not saying it’s drinking too much but I am saying the consumption is annoying especially if you compare it to all of its competitors. A 2006 z1000 I defo wouldn’t compare to a 2017 mt10 though.
Nice video mate! Subbed.
Thanks dude!
@@BikeLikeMike92 no worries, found you on a subreddit - you know the one 😉I was absolutely gobsmacked to find another moto-vlogger on there, and not just another NT posting 3 gaming videos of them playing minecraft and expecting to blow up (then not) so then whining about it on the SR! Haha.... Refreshing! Also bonus points for also being a UK rider!
Where did you get your remap done? Also did your mate get his postal on the place? Thanks
I got my remap done at JB motorcycle services. No, unsure where he got his postal from to be honest. I see the same people recommending the same places… no postal will be as good as a real dyno map. I’d thoroughly recommend John at JB motorcycle services, knowledgable, normal and won’t rip you off.
Subbed 👍 great video review mate!
Cheers man! 🙌🏼
Is the secret sauce the mt-09 better mpg and more nible with still plenty enough power?
It’s deffo a winner for some!
Suspension of the Mt-09 is a joke, and a lot of speed wobbles on higher speeds.
Where did you get your tank’s protection ? Pls

I mean I only get 40 on my FZ8 so that wouldn't bother me at all
The sound is the biggest plus point, literally sounds like moto GP bike.
I would get about 90 to 100 miles till fuel light on
I zip tied my cable to the bar so I my ignition is clear
Easy fix, just a bit annoying you have to do that!
If you say MT out loud it sounds exactly like EMPTY. 😅
That bunch of keys will scratch up your bike. My ignition key is separate.
I do have one issue sometimes the cruse control flashes and won't engage??
I believe you have to be in 4th gear and going over 30mph ish for it to work.
i heard whining before but this is extreme
Of course it is…don’t you get it!?
Spot on that,great
Does it not give miles till empty as well as a gauge?.
Well, sort of. Once you get to empty it starts counting from 0. So, you kind of get an idea how many miles your bike can do before it’s really empty 😅 handy for the second time you run out of fuel.
@@BikeLikeMike92 🤣
I clicked on this because i like all things bike.......Mike.😶
Hope you subscribed in that case then … it’s all bike on here … with a bit of Mike 👀

Yep.
All subscribed here mate.
Legend
The MT-10 has a face that only a mother is able to love
😂
Didn't buy it to look at.
So how many miles per galon is that ?
One thing i hate about MT10 is that i dont own it 😭. Anyone wants a trade sv650x for mt10
I’m sure, if you want one… it’s only a matter of time!
@@BikeLikeMike92 yeap, but first let me learn how to proper ride my sv and then upgrade
Can you add drop bars?
I believe so, plenty of people seem to have done it on forums.
hi, what gloves are you wearing?

This is one of the easiest bike to ride 🤣🤣
R1 really is Workout
212kg? That's only about 6kg more than my GSR750.
What mirrors are they ?

What part of London is this?
This is a town in the south of England called Arundel (mostly)
I love my MT10. but yea the fueling is shocking. Also, the clutch cable is great because it makes it harder for some rat to take ya keys 🤣🤣🙌🏻.. The seat wobble is annoying..other than that what a bike
Second comment I’ve seen about the seat rattle! Haven’t had this yet and you’re both making me nervous 😂 standard or comfort seat?
When your other vehicles average 20mpg, 35 is great😂
Great way to look at it 😅
You said " and it has all the neccessary beneifits of touring bike you could ask for" (once modified) How do you figure THAT? lol since you need to fill up again every 125 miles lol dont get me wrong I love this bike but my tracer in touring mode can make it 250miles on a tank a lot of times ( if I was brave) Even though I wont push it past 200 I dont think I would push the 10 past 130!
Best bike ever
I'm sorry to say I found this vid annoying, my pet hate is bikes that have scratched top yokes because of bunches of keys from previous owners! Pull the clutch cable up and cable tie it to handle bars or some were, and use one key. I have never met a mt10 owner that couldn't have probably been more suited to a smaller capacity bike especially when worried about fuel consumption and fuel gages, who fills there bike up every half a tank anyway ! But every one to their own I suppose. 😮
A lot of people have several keys on their key chain. Not everyone will just want to use a single key every time. The whole video is specifically aimed at annoying things which is the keyword there. They aren’t necessarily flaws with the bike.
