  • Check out my new toy! The "Little Giant Deluxe Incubator with Fan Kit and Egg Turner." This kit includes the fan and egg turner all in one! I will be doing a comparison on my old style "Little Giant Still Air Incubator 9200," versus the new Deluxe Incubator style. I will go over the new features and digital thermometer with humidity readings. Stay tuned for our first hatching in this Deluxe Model Incubator 11300 as well!

    There's a fan in you old one, if it doesn't function you can probably find a replacement online and have 2 great incubators.

    Thanks for the video, really good video . But I have ? , how do you drop the humity ? Thanks.

    • @farmmom7140
      @farmmom7140  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! The easiest way to decrease humidity in an incubator is to simply open the air vents and remove water from the tray. (Just opening the vents might do the trick till your humidity reaches the point that your wanting). Good luck!

  • @kristamansfield9870
    @kristamansfield9870 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have the same incubator. How do you control the humidity?

    • @farmmom7140
      @farmmom7140  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Krista! At the beginning stages day 1-17 (depending on what your hatching) I control the humidity by adding small amounts of water at a time to get to the desired range that I want to be at. I start with a 1/2-1/4 cup. It also depends on the humidity in your home how frequent you'll need to add or not. At lockdown you'll want to fill all the trays up and even possibly add a clean wet sponge or washcloth to get a higher humidity. Good luck!

    That is a very nice incubator, it is very convenient to have all the goodies in one package, to have the temp/humid as well as the auto turner is a thing I have never seen on a "budget" incubator, this is going to make it so much easier to get good hatchings! Stay safe, and good luck with this one! Chris B.

    Shellie, I'm looking forward to seeing some baby turkeys hatch out in that new incubator. Is there a difference in the hatching temperature between chicken eggs and turkey eggs? I'm just curious. When I was a kid, one of my mom or dad's first cousins owned a turkey farm that we visited occasionally. Of course, I don't know if they hatched their own turkey eggs or if they bought the chicks. I think Mike will need to build a much bigger brooder house and run for the turkeys! I will enjoy watching this new adventure. Stay safe and healthy, Kincaid family! ~Margie

    • @farmmom7140
      @farmmom7140  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there is a difference! Chicken eggs take 21 days at 99.5 degrees and turkey eggs take 28 days at 99 degrees. Thanks for watching Margie.
