    Thanks, Sir, I need to see this video, I have the same problem with the same incubator.

      My solution only worked for a while. Honestly, you would be better to scrap that one and buy a hovabator. Unfortunately we had 4 of these and all of them do the same and the manufacturer is well aware of it with no fix.

    Should the egg turner motor be extremely hot?

    • @PetersonFarmstead

      It should not be. That might me a sign that it is going out.

    I have a ? I had 1 egg hatch and after a few hrs and I was setting up the box for the baby and I noticed the heater was off and showed hatching I have blinking screen and no way of setting heater it is cool inside? How do I fix it?

      I would get it under a heat lamp or other source, those incubators are just absolute junk.

    How do you hook it up?

    • @PetersonFarmstead
      @PetersonFarmstead  ปีที่แล้ว

      Plug in the inkbird and then plug incubator into it however the incubator thermostat fluctuates so much this method doesn't work.

    My LG incubator came with a different thermostat than the ones I’m seeing other people have. Instead of a long probe, mine has a circular shaped device that hangs right in the middle of the incubator. Is mine an updated model to fix the issue you’re having?

    • @PetersonFarmstead
      @PetersonFarmstead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not 100% sure but it might be. The incubators have had this problem for quite some time so it wouldn't surprise me if they finally found a fix. Does your incubator keep an accurate temp? And have you had any hatch problems?

    • @dabaiter5939
      @dabaiter5939 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Flooded Acres Homestead I’ll let you know. I just bought the incubator to start hatching eggs for the first time. so far I’ve tested it and the temp stays between 99.0-100.3.

    • @PetersonFarmstead
      @PetersonFarmstead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hopefully all works well and you have good hatches.

    • @jeanettepeterson5681
      @jeanettepeterson5681 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Terry P. unfortunately the inkbird became very unstable. We believe the circular thermostat is the newset version of the incubator thermostat. Hopefully those work better than the old version.

    • @dabaiter5939
      @dabaiter5939 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Terry P. I hatched two batches of eggs so far. My first go, I had 3/18 hatch which is terrible but was my first go and I would open the incubator and constantly check the eggs. My second go, I literally didn’t open the incubator till I had to put the eggs in lockdown and I ended up hatching 4/5 eggs which is great especially for shipped eggs. So in my experience, if you have the little giant incubator, if you don’t open it constantly, the temperature is perfect all the time. Also automatic egg turners are great so you don’t have to open the incubator up constantly.

      @@PetersonFarmstead so which one do you use? My daughter and I are on out 4rd hatch. the biggest issue seems to be that the temp randomly drops by ~2 degrees at night. for this run we are using an InkBird ITC-308 that I calibrated using ice and boiling water and we added the fan.

    • @PetersonFarmstead
      @PetersonFarmstead  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have been using the Hoova-bator from Amazon. It seems to be working great. Tho we have been adding a blanket over it to help stabilize the temperatures, don't have to do that but we get a better hatch

      If you could make a sock with rice and heat it up in the microwave for a bit, unplug the incubator and use the sock as a heating source. It would have to be checked often but could get you by till morning when you could get something better.

I had to regroup and reboot everything. I had to put the temperature really low but I didn't want them to get hold. Long story short I thought that describes were actually dry food that may have stuck on them that I may not have cleaned off. But that doesn't seem to be the case I was hoping that was

    Wow have the same incubator u are displaying . Myself I can't get my too heat up enough got my set up at 109.5 which shows that but with a external tempature Gage it shows only 80

      I hate to hear that. Before we first bought this incubator we were having hatch rates of around 98%, we could hatch just about anything. Now we are lucky to get 50%.
      We tried the ink bird and it somewhat worked. The next thing we tried was buying the cheapest version of the incubator (9300 modle) and changed out the heater, thermostat and control module. That got our temp correct or so we believe, but now having problems with fully developed chicks/ducklings dieing just before or right after hatch.

    • @TheFrogfeeder
      @TheFrogfeeder 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Flooded Acres Homestead if you were having 98% hatch rate, why would you change up? And why haven’t you gone back to it? I dunno dude...

      We have recently bought a hova bator that is doing a good job. We truly wish we hadn't sold those incubators but we had sold them when we found the digital incubator thinking that it would be better, and was better for the first couple of hatches. Lesson learned, but on the bright side we are able to hatch chicks again.

      We used a little Giant that had the turn style thermostat, and currently have switched to the hova bator. Any of them that have the digital thermostat is a joke. I bought 2 more and changed the thermostat and still the same issue. The Hova bator is working great tho

    Did your eggs hatch?

    • @PetersonFarmstead
      @PetersonFarmstead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some have hatched but others didn't not sure if it was because the ink bird allowed the temp to drop too much before kicking it on or if it was just because the area that they were in fluctuated to much in temp.

    I recently cooked 6 of my duck eggs. They were 7 days away from hatching Showed 99.5 but second thermometer showed 45.3 🤬 "Made in the USA" yea right!!! I put 6 more duck eggs and set mine to 99.3. Did well for a few days but now the second digital thermometer shows 38.5 and constantly rising. Why is it trying to cook my eggs??????? Sucks!!!!!!!! Even if I set the little giant to a lower temp it has no effect. I even unplugged it hoping it would reset something but won't stay 37.5 degrees Celsius 🤬🤬🤬🤬

    • @PetersonFarmstead

      Those digital incubators are the absolute worst, sorry your having trouble it is extremely frustrating. We never could get them to level out. Best suggestion is to buy the older turn dial incubator. We bought the hova bator and are having good luck with it.
