    Bill Walsh 95 is such an overlooked classic.

    Love that the "85 Tennessee "Sugar Vols" was part of the game. Nobody gave them a chance in heck against Miami and Vinny V.

    Cool video. I still remember picking Bill Walsh with the packed 4-player adapter. EA Sports - it’s in the game.

      @@originalconsolegamer8572 speaking of NCAA, the first PlayStation game was my first game I got for free to review on ZeroGravity. I don’t have the review with me but I LOved the game & wrote a 2000 word text praising the game. Good luck on future videos. & lastly, how come EA doesn’t make NCAA games anymore? It’s a shame!

      @@fernandomosquera6339 Well thank you and I appreciate it. As far as EA and NCAA games, they stopped because of rule changes regarding college athletes and money. However, they just announced about a month or 2 ago, that they are going to start it back up again. Probably won't be until 2022 until we see it, but they have confirmed that it's coming!!!

    BWCF was made by Visual Concepts the people that made the greatest Football game of all time, ESPN NFL 2k5. We played this so much in College, we killed it. I had to buy it a 2nd time. 1980 Pitt Panthers was my squad.

    I'd love to hear your opinion on the SNES Madden games. Actually, all sports games, hah!

    Snes has better graphics and arguably sound but the Genesis has a better cpu. It’s not necessarily inferior hardware.

    • @SeekerLancer
      @SeekerLancer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, with sports games requiring a lot of sprites moving quickly it was easier to get good performance out of the Genesis. A good programmer could manage it on the SNES, but it was harder and more uncommon to pull it off.

      @@SeekerLancer SNES can actually display 128 sprites at a time vs 80 on Genesis but a lot of times it came down to SlowROM vs FastROM on SNES. There is seriously something wrong with College Football USA 97 on SNES because that game was on a FastROM chip but it looks about 10fps.

    The SNES is having issues in the first port because it's not built for this type of game. You only get 16kb to control all your sprites, and you can only access the VRAM during a Vblank. Also, just to make things more fun, you can't freely choose the size of your sprites. (You're limited to two sizes from presets, making optimization difficult.)
    And that's just the start of the headaches. Example: Many 3rd party games boot the cpu into a slower "compatibility mode" that was intended for NES games and never actually used for that purpose. The reason? The cartridge ROMs were cheaper.
    And this is just the surface level stuff I can actually follow as a non-coder.
    Hanging around SNES developers, it seems like there's way more going on, but long story short: it's kind of impressive the game turned out as well as it did.
    I'm glad they chose the playability over the graphics. And I hope their second year allows them to improve on the engine. (I haven't finished the video yet.)
