- While NCAA College Football 2K3 wasn't a great game, it is a very interesting game considering the fact that it was 2K's second and final college football game.

All 2k needs to do:
Generic college game similar to Maximum Football with 130 fully editable teams and conferences. Put that on next gen consoles with the same engine and mechanics that 2k5 and 2k8 featured. Instant best seller.
Wasn’t the reason they stopped making College Football that no one bought them? Maybe that would be different now, with how people feel about Madden. But licenseless football is likely a really hard sell for a big ass company.

I remember playing this game. I wish 2k was able to keep making simulation football games. Their presentation was and still is unmatched in some ways
The presentation was great. The music! The band! The pregame show and introduction music. I played this game a ton as a kid because the ESPN presentation was implement very naturally and it reminded you of Saturday Noon ESPN college football.

Yeah 2k5 and NCAA 06 are a lot more fun to me. It's wild that the 06 version has more features and immersion than the "final" version.

This was actually the only 2K football game I owned. It was cool, but it felt much more difficult than madden. As a kid it was rough but I’m sure I’d appreciate it more now as a grown man.
This was my first football game as a kid. I didn’t even understand how to play football and would get blown out by the CPU every game. Good memories

2K made pretty good football games but NFL had to step in then they stopped making all-pro,video games have had a tough history
My only worry is that the team that made 2K5 and APF2K8 is sadly long gone....I feel like those games were once-in-a-lifetime releases. In this day and age with micro-transactions, buggy release days, etc. has me worried that even if 2K starts making football games again, they simply won't feel or be the same.
Think about what we got with 19.99 when buying 2K5? It was an absolute STEAL and chock-full of content, extra features, goodies...it was a steal.
5:56 their is a kind of crib in 2ks college hoops series but it is not the same as nfl 2ks crib
If we’re being real all you have to do is make the rosters and stadiums and jerseys etc in 2k5 and then you have that version of college football

NCAA College Football 2k3 was the first College Football game I ever played. I played this on the Original Xbox and I enjoyed it at the time I played it.
Honestly I replayed the game and the gameplay is honestly realistic from guys getting trucked to a guy juking the only thing it lacks is the atmosphere I think the gameplay is still better because of realism I would say it's one of the better football games I played from how the guys block the presentation is lacking but for the time I'm surprised this game isnt more popular it's better than ncaa 03 it's a challenging game which even in ncaa 14 it's just too easy in my opinion you can use a ranked team and lose as far as being the 3rd year on the ps2 I consider it a gem the playbooks leave some things to be desired and it depends on your quarterback stats if you have rex Grossman from Florida you're probably going to throw dots but you can miss on passes too even using cody Pickett the game is fun even slow guys can sometimes get out and get a couple of yards to turn on the jets the atmosphere just lacks what you feel going to LSU or the zoo or husky stadium when they were good outside of that honestly a excellent game
As much as I HATE EA, those of us alive and football gaming during the 2001-2008 years were absolutely spoiled. The EA NCAA series were simply fantastic year-in-year out, and I'm still playing NCAA 04/05/06/07 to this day. I really miss the feel of that engine, I think EA struck gold with it. Not to mention the fact that we also had the amazing 2K Football series was simply icing on the cake. It's too bad 2K only released 2 college football games. Imagine what they could have become if they released college football on the 2K5 engine. Either way, we had so many amazing options, I miss these days a lot.
IMO ncaa football 2003 is still the best football game of all time. Played dynasty mode for two years on that game because the 2004 version suffered from receivers dropping the ball half the time.

I played this game for the first time ever over the weekend as I'm a coach mode player and wanted to give it a try since it has an actual coach mode (kicking and all) instead of the auto pass of the EA games. I actually enjoy it using PCSX2.
still don't understand why they can't create a college football game where all players in the game are set to 1 general look at the beginning and we all then go in and can edit all of them team by team (roster share/download within the community) ... hell if not give us a high school football game then and just make everything customizable schools/leagues/players/uniforms/stadiums/coaches/CIF tournament per state then CIF state champions have a nation wide tournament ,,,,,, no recruiting but can make it you have new incoming freshman every year and you have to help them year in & year out via practice mode or short game simulation mode develop into freshmen team starters then JV caliber player & finally varsity team starter ,, literally would be funner than madden
They would just have to get the schools OK & pay for their likeness but it would be very doable, also they could do generic schools & let us take it the rest of the way sort of like Backbreaker did

@@Bill_8864 yup bypass all the likenesses nonsense by making all teams & players generic at the start of the game but every team & leagues & players is completely customizable ... have like 500 different logo options (search out top 500 nationwide high schools and just have their logos as a customizable option) .... anyone know how much it cost to make a sports game?? i got into bitcoin real early and have a few mil in savings ,, is that even enough or is it like over 10 million to create a sports game??

Bro you should do Madden 12 on the Wii it is pretty fun, doesn't have create a team (at least I don't think it does because I can't find it) but I just had a lot of fun playing franchise and on the play before taking the snap you can draw a route for your WR to do. Please check it out it is so fun. And also Madden highkey using assets from that game for example there is a 5v5 mode when you click play now and it looks just like the yard besides making your own character and stuff please bro I would love to see you review the game on the Wii.
Edit: It's definitely not Madden 08 level but for its time and the amount of stuff you can do in the game on the Wii is extraordinary.
I enjoy Madden 12 on the PS3. Never tried the Wii version.

@Jelani Greer yea agreed graphics were pretty bad and all the players looked the same and bulky but besides that it had smooth gameplay and I think a pretty solid game overall.

what i mean by that is taking different aspects of a football (maybe more specifically an nfl) game and highlighting the games that showcased each aspect the best to create "the ultimate football game"
for example (example not my opinion)
madden 21 graphics
backbreaker's tackling
nfl 2k's physics
all pro football 2k8's gameplay
nfl 2k5's depth + franchise
ncaa + madden's compatibility (i.g. importing draft classes)
etc.
I think it would be a really cool idea
They should of made a sequel to All Pro 2k8. Gameplay was by far the best. It was just bare bones. They could of added deep customization, more legends, more game modes like 2k5, the crib, updated graphics. Series could have been legendary

I have College Football 2K2 on my Dreamcast and tried it out again last year and I really wanted to love it but it's mediocre. 2K3 version looks WAY better!
2k football was lame until 2004. Robotic and just didn't feel like football.
I almost bought this game but passed due to it not having FCS(Back then D-IAA) teams. I'm a grad of a FCS school and NCAA Football 03 had almost all of them including mine.
EA sports NCAA football 11 on the PS2 has a lot of FCS teams.

I remember renting this game at Blockbuster...twelve year old me played it for about 5 minutes...just didn't look or feel as good as NCAA Football 2003.

I was literally just playing this game last night. No idea what put it in my mind but I wanted to go back. Was looking to find old rosters but had no luck. As a kid this was a favorite for me just because of the ESPN look and feel. Feeling like I was on ESPN for these games just added something for me. Doesn’t play back as well now but so many fond memories!

please do the rise and fall of the ea sports nhl series kind of like you did madden and nba live. most hardcore fans agree that the nhl seires has been pretty awful since going to next gen ps4 and xb1 generation. they had improved in some ways but the game still has yet to return to it former glory on the seventh generation of console. hopefully you do the ea sports nhl rise and fall video soon before the 2022
EA won the contract and is making NCAA 2021....but I agree on the potential here, and I love 2k's development team.
I hope 2k will make a new football game one day bc the developers really pay attention to detail....and the latest game I can play from them is APF 2k8, which is lacking a franchise mode. Anyways great video!

I remember I played NCAA 2K2 and 3. They were ok, but didn't hold a candle to NCAA Football. I got a lot of playing time out of the 2K3 however. It was cool....

Good video. For me this was a terrible game and I prefer college football 2k2 over this, though I will admit that I do like the early 2000's ESPN presentation in this game. Very nostalgic and takes me back to my childhood listening to the college football theme. I wish ESPN was like this today because they are shell of their former selves.

If 2K can get the licensing to the NCAA that would be amazing. Because not only could we get college football but also college basketball and potentially college baseball or even college hockey.
I had this game and 2 weeks later got the Ea version and never looked back i did like there tournament mode though.

I know when 2k18 dropped it looked like they were falling exactly how Madden did but 2k20 and 2k21 are actually decent games
He's gone in numerous occasions to say how he regards 2K in a better position than EA and I ultimately agree with him. At least their offline gameplay is still worthwhile unlike EA's useless features.
