Possibly the best body armor design in all of Star Wars (along with Sith Stalker armor). Also, it kinda reminds me of The Shredder (Ch'rell) from 2003's TMNT, especially the helmet

Was always a fan of the Tulak Hord armor design hence my profile pic. I've often wondered if his helmet is loosely based on Starkilles Sith Stalker helmet though. Especially since one of his listed feats is pulling down a Star Ship which we first saw Starkiller do in the force unleashed trailer.

You guys hit everything good but you also have to remember that there was a lot of Sith Alchemy happening in the Ancient Ancient you know days of the Sith tulak hord might of Yusuf Alchemy 2 also power his armor so basically he was a lightsaber reflector along with his skills with a blade and his powers with the force that's a remember Sith purebloods can live a long time the oldest that I've heard can live up to 300 years and that was I think Marka ragnos or Lord scourge but still that's a very long time to live and then having a range of over a hundred years is still amazing and taking over a hundred planets and many battles he has seen more battles than most people in the Starwars Universe have had years upon them I just really wish we got a novel about to lock cord or they could somehow bring them into Canon and make a legendary you know story about him as a comic book or novel because I really think that this is a Sith Lord that we need to know about that pioneered every Sith sorcery every Sith magic every great fighting style that we know of witches Form 1 and 2 into the Star Wars Canon and just have them at the Pioneer that started it all and it would be interesting to seeing him in a novel or a live adaptation or at least in a cartoon movie style of Star Wars or heck even a fan film would be beautiful
Personally I don't believe that Sidious is the MOST powerful. He has more powerful feats than other sith, but there are ancient sith that post-empire sith that have other more powerful feats. It's a toss up to me.

Sidious is canon, Tulak Hord legends. Sidious might be most powerful in Canon, but in legends I highly doubt it. Especially when there are beings like Vitiate who's power is almost godlike.
Plus when Kreia said her famous line to Mitra Surik multiple lightsaber forms already existed.

I doubt Hord would have used JUST Makashi. I think he had some Soresu and Djem-So thrown in, maybe even pioneered those styles in some ways. To me, that's the ultimate combination for lightsaber combat.

Hold on, we've seen Tyranus use form 2 against Anikan Skywalker and many more apponants and still be able to win up until ROTS. Duku is uncomparable to Tulak Hord. I don't think it would be difficult for Tulak Hord to be able to rival Yoda or Darth Sidious; especially Darth Vader. Take his lightsaber away, and he can still outmatch them in the Force. Darth Sidious was able to disarm Yoda using the Force alone. Tulak Hord would simply destroy the mere students, that are Yoda ans Darth Sidious, in combat.

So another feat that is stated in SWTOR was Tulak Hord's ability to spread fear. Whole systems would surrender the moment their force users sensed that he had entered the system. A good play on this might be a scene from the anime Bleach. When someone so much stronger than you arrives, if can feel like your drowning from the overwhelming pressure. Some could fight through it, others lost their minds.
My Ideas for the order were revolutionary.

When he was a teenager he killed his family and then did a Sith ritual to suck out the life/Force essence of his entire home planet and endow himself with it. He then went to dick around with the Sith for a bit, and even as a newcomer teenager, Marka Ragnos himself was scared to mess with Vitiate, and named him Sith Lord pretty much instantly to placate him. Vitiate then proceeded to live for thousands of years, forming two empires. The True Sith Empire in secret, which Revan and plot of KOTOR reveals was whole reason for Revans story, and the Eternal Empire in secret from the True Sith Empire. His plan was genius. He used the coming of the True Sith as a beacon to get the most powerful Jedi of the time (Revan) to become a Sith and weaken the galaxy so the True Sith could come in and take over, but that was just a ruse so that once everyone was weak enough, his Eternal Empire from Zakuul would show up and stomp on them all. He was a beast in every sense of the word and so powerful he COULD become a force ghost after death cuz he wasnt just embracing the dark side, he used the light too.
Actually I think the whole, "Empire to weaken everyone then second, real Empire to actually take over" plot is gonna be in EP9 and that's what Palpatine has been planning the whole time. But yeah Krayt is cool too.
A detail worth mentioning: Tulak Hord developed a sith ritual that allowed him to literally eat the souls of those who died in his vicinity. Adding their force energy and power to his own. Possibly permanently. If he had chosen he could have been Vitiate before Vitiate was even thought of. And more.
He also discovered the secret to immortality before he died

Definitely my all time favourite Sith Lord, even if his legends are less than accurate, I still find the character fascinating. I also respect Exar Kun and Sidious a great deal, but the Dark Lord Hord is just such a righteously compelling warrior, maybe due to the mysteries that surround his unprecedented abilities at the time.

The ancient Sith did have better armor designs compared to the modern Sith. The ancient armor designs always look cool.

Sidious by most accounts is seen as the most powerful Sith Lord over more ancient Sith Lords. Isn’t it true however that many Sith texts and alchemy practices have been lost to history? Would you consider a video addressing this?

One thing that should be noted is that the reason why most was lost is because of Sith infighting. They destroyed themselves several times without outside interference. The 1000 years of planning and conspiring under the rule of 2 was almost eventless regarding destruction of accumulated Sith knowledge so while overall much lore was lost, the basics and most if not all "common" and even "uncommon" appliances of the force could have been (re)-discovered by the undistrubed rule of 2 followers.
Don't forget that he lived in an Era, where sith sorcery and alchemy were at an all time high. And were basically sith super weapons. And not only was he an established sorcerer that probably knew some of that. But overcame and dominated it reliably with his swordmanship. He probably even had powerfull artifacts and talismans too that were destroyed or lost. After the hyperspace war.
Sidious dueled Yoda and then fell back on his force abilities when he couldn't gain the upper hand. Tulak Hord put his force abilities into his lightsaber combat, so he's going all out at the beginning. I think he smokes Sidious.
Would love if you did how powerful Marka Ragnos were, as just as Tulak Hord, Marka Ragnos was one fearsome sith and insanely powerful one.

I wanna say this. They brought up the fact that Tulak hord was a victim due to not having many saber forms. I would Argue that makes Tulak Hord even more powerful in my eyes. Just think about it, Darth Traya, herself a master of all 7 forms, who had lived to see the likes of Darth Revan, Malak, Sion, Nihilus, and Even Exar Kun live and fight. Still said those legendary men were children playing with toys in the eyes of Tulak Hord.

Ok so, he had 0 feats other than that he exists. So i made my own breakdown, i will use hype as sorta feats and add some logical head canon
-Slays 1000 Jedi in 1 battle by himself with assist of khem val, this in itself contradicts makashi which is used for 1v1s at best.
-Master of sith sorcery, possible immortality via draining rituals.
-ragdolls a moving destroyer (350+ meters) from atmosphere.
-"Best Duelist" i would like to believe he had custom form 3 back then which would be like form 8 by modern standards, possible combination of Makashi and Soresu and Ignition / De-ignition combat and telekinetic juggling of 3-4 sabers alongside force speed which would give him huge advantage against well, anyone who faced him for first time since he could block from any side and attack from all sides if he combined all of those together.
-Judging by his crystal (There is a video on YT about it) he is master at force lightning, since suposedly he needs to steadily output force lightning to charge his saber and make it more powerful than average sabers or it becomes well, almost useless.
Now for some fan fic
-This is head canon but makes some sense, and is very possible that he had shatterpoint, it gives him an massive advantage against anyone and makes sense why he would be undefeated, also he possibly mastered force speed more than anyone else and could use it for dueling with his "Form 3"
-He might just be capable of using some planet destroying techniques like -Thought Bomb (It can be used by pretty much any power house sith assuming they know how)
-Force Storm (as he was master of force lightning, this makes sense)
-Hyper Nova (He had some experience with Naga Sadow and Marka Ragnos i believe, but this is unlikely) and he was said to have conquered almost 100 planets so yeah such abilities would explain it.
So in conclusion, even without head canon he would be comparable to likes of Vitiate, Marka, Exar etc.. would be basically more powerful than any TOR sith with few exceptions and well would be stronger than any and all post TOR sith.
With head canon, around Valkirion / Exar level easily
Overall? Underated and well featless which makes people just ignore him as another "scary strong sith from past"
If you haven't done a long form discussion on Darth Vitiate/Valkorion I'd love to hear more from you. In my view Sidious is first but Valkorion is second all time powerful Sith. His story and origin is unique.
So Revan was right. More Sith would make the order weaker since the weak could rise against the strong

I'm a sidious fan but if you played the old republic, you know it's a bunch of sith on his level of power but maybe not his knowledge and understanding of the force.
Tulak Hord vs Yoda. Tulak could beat Yoda. Yoda is seen as almost godlike/invincible when it comes to lightsaber dueling, almost to the point where he is overrated. My money is on Tulak.
Darth Sidious was very powerful. But I think Darth Plagueis was more powerful than him. Why else would he wait till he was drunk and asleep before attempting to overtake his master.
But those sources that say Sidious was the most powerful Sith, were referring only to the movies. As in the most powerful Sith in the history of the movies.
Even Lucas. If you consider that he never read a single thing about the EU, then all of his claims about Sidious only held any value in the timeframe of the movies.
So to say Sidious was the most powerful Sith to have ever existed... There is absolutely no proof of that.
Every claim or statement made by those that made the movies only apply to the history of the movies.
And those that wrote the books and comics made their characters to obviously be much more powerful than even Sidious.
Even Sorzus Syn was by far more powerful than Sidious seeing she could do things Sidious could never do.
And we may not know that much about Tulak Hord. But the simple fact that he remained unbeaten for centuries, in a time there were thousands of Jedi and Sith, only helps to the scaling of Hord power.

How does he compare to Vitiete and Ninhilist? This is hands down why we need an Old Republic series. With all the sith risen up from the past, why not bring up there back stories from us all to experience, aside from video games or books.

Only another wound in the force was able to resist his drain and tulak was not a wound in the force so he would be easily drained to death by Nihilus. But this is the reason why i think Nihilus is too OP and so is Vitiate for many reasons too. Had your charecter in KOTOR2 (Meetra Surik) not also been a wound in the force, Nihilus may have consumed all life in the galaxy. The only others who may have been able to resist Nihilus Drain are the Yuuzhan Vong, with their near immunity to the Force.

most of the info on Tulak are statements and not feats, one can say that the ancent sith were better at combat than the later sith but that doesn't make it true, i mean hell, a ancent sith (ghost) had a lightsaber duel with an apprentice from Lukes jedi order in legends and lost, true it wasn't one that focused heavely on lightsaber combat but still. Just because someone says something doesn't mean it's true, khem is VERY biased to Tolak and would tell stories that might be a bit exaggerated as a form of propaganda, now don't get me wrong i do belive that he is one of the better duelists in star wars given that sige and all that, i just don't think we have enough info to say that hands down he's the best duelist ever or something lile that, again, i think he might be one of the best but not the best

In my opinion Darth Sidious as the most powerful Sith Lord is overrated. The only reason I see why is that is becouse he was able to achive most of his goals - he eradiceted Jedi Order and become Emperor of whole Galaxy. But we don't see his powers all that much. By suprise he was able to deafet three Jedi masters but against Mace Windu or Yoda he met his match. If he ever met some of more powerful Sith Lord... well I doubt that he would be able to stay alive against them.

Are you are comparing him to canon Sidious or Legends Sidious. Legends Sidious would definitely win in a battle. Canon Sidious is debatable especially since canon Sidious is probably going to lose to Rey in the next film.

@@suarezblanco5454 Extremly sad but true. Rey has even less experience than the younglings Anakin killed in ROTS given the amount of training she recieved. There is no way that she could stand toe to toe with Sidious even with Kylo's help. I don't know how they think its a good idea to bring back Palpatine for this purpose, especially after the backlash they received for their mishandling of Luke.
I’d say Sidious MIGHT be more powerful. If it were 1-on-1 between, Sidious and Tulak Horde, I think Sidious would be pushed to the breaking point, but would indeed come out on top; I think what would carry his victory is that Sidious can ultimately fall back on any of the 7 various saber forms, whereas Tulak Horde was master of Form 2 and could only fall back on 1 other Form. That said, Sidious May have been a good lightsaber duelist, and Dooku was THE master of Form 2, but Tulak Horde was the FOUNDER of Form 2; there was literally nobody better at it, ever, than him. Because of his absolute mastery of Form 2 that can never be disputed or rivaled, he could conceivably win a higher majority of multiple instances against Sidious.

I would argue against Sidious being the most powerful. Even as far as canon vs Legends on both sides of fence. I would say Vitiate/Valkorion is. Despite thousands of years of disparity, Valkorion was able to do countless things I've never seen Sidious being capable of doing. And his feats sometimes border on Eldritch horror kind of shit and the hearsay about him in universe definitely backs it up. His children too. Which also brings me back to main character of game, definitely op. But I think classic understanding of Sidious by multiple sources is that he's most powerful ever. But SWTOR practically slaps you in the face the entirety of the game and all DLC that Vitiate/Valkorion is borderline god sometimes and that everything, even his multiple deaths are by design or that it was just some old husk he was controlling with his infinite will. I'm open to discussion boss. And you should definitely cover him
" Tulak hord didnt really know the deepest mysteries of the dark side" litterly the only one who has ever been able to open one of tulak's holocrons is Darth Revan, so while it is true that we lack specifics on tulak and his abilites its pretty safe to say he knew more than sidious about the force. but for those who blindly says tulak is more powerful than sidious should think some more, sidious was incredably smart and manipulutive while tulak, from what it seems was more up front so there would probably be a big chsnce sidious would be able to manipulate Tulak in some way and kill him and that is also power, i really think more people should play Star Wars The Old Republic since it has quite som lore about this if you psy very good attention of what is said👍 ( sorry for writing this much,had to get it out of my system😂)

My main problem with this guy is that he almost never cites any evidence. Though I can't really complain all that much because I do really enjoy the content. It's like the thing about Plo Koon vs Yoda. From my understanding, that's just a throwaway line from a game that came out years ago on Wii. It is an interesting prospect, and while I do really love Plo and wish it were true, I can't believe something with so little to back it up. Anybody feel the same?
Hear me out. I think Tulak Hord is the strongest Sith. He's definitely one of them if not the number one. Tulak could (most likely) defeat Sidious imo. Obviously we don't know a whole lot about him. But we know that he was an undefeated beast. A living Terminator. A merciless killing machine. Someone who would effortlessly slaughter people. He'd go berserk & disembody his enemies with his LightSaber. That & or attack them with wrath using the force. Not only could he lift, love & throw things using the force. And not only extremely heavy things. He can pull & dismantle a starship out of orbit. His force lightning alone is O.P. honestly. Being able to take out some of the most powerful beings. Being able to literally massacre armies. We all know he was one of the best lightsaber duelists. But he was also so skilled in the force that his abilities rivaled Sidious'. Most likely surpassing his abilities. Tulak was and is one of the most overpowered beings in SW. I say it proudly.

Tulak, is a mess, He is clearly designed to be post great hyperspace war, he supposedly used a lightsaber, and fought jedi, yet his backstory is set before TGHSW. It just doesn’t match up with the main lore. The great hyper space war was the first time jedi and Sith clashed, before that it was Jedi vs dark Jedi. And during the great hyperspace war the Sith used force enhanced weapons not lightsabers.

Honestly, I don't think Dooku would be able to even challenge Tulak Hord at saber combat. The duel would take a few seconds and then end. No doubt in my mind, and the same would apply to Tulak vs. Sidious.
