In the Revenge of the Sith novel, it was said that Sidious moved so fast that he appeared to fade in and out of existence from Anakin’s point of view. He relies on Force-enhanced speed- and presumably Dark Rage-to overwhelm his opponents in one-on-one combat

I love this entire section of the novelization Daryl and it's a great point. One of the aspects that I tried to always keep in mind here was how Sidious was able to do what he did to the Jedi in his office in Episode 3, as I think Luceno does such a great job of showing the origins of it in the Darth Plagueis novel. Always appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!

It makes no sense to ditch a Lightsaber since it is connected to your strength with the force. It's not a crutch it's a tool which can grow with you and does not restrict you in anyway.

I kind of get what he's getting at, like the fabled martial artist masters that are so powerful that they don't need to kick you or punch you, merely the force of their chi can throw you across a room. Or being able to be in such control of your life and surroundings that you never end up in such a situation in the first place, unless you want to.

But this exposè makes a lot of sense in answering this. Also it made me realise that Plagueis really was a genius (more so than I'd already appreciated I mean), both keeping Sidious away from the distraction a lightsaber would absolutely bring, and honing his patience which Sidious would ultimately weaponise in executing the Sith grand plan. Sidious was more gifted in the force than most relies.
While he did use force speed to kill the jedi, if you watch clonewars - you'll see that he doesnt amplify his body with the force, he is physically throwing himself around with the force, like a child playing with a toy.
he was able to hold savage opress down with one arm (because the force was moving the saber) while holding maul down with his other.
if he had a videogame passive it would be like: This Charicter Uses INT as STR.

He was a master of nearly every aspect, intellectually, spiritually, physically, his only downfall, was that he was afraid of death, and his pride was out of this world, for a good reason.

An excerpt from the Darth Plagueis novel by James Luceno which highlights Sidious savagery and ferocity:
"He sprinted up the stairs to the next floor, where he heard a cacophony of human voices muffled by the thick door to a nearby room. Blowing the door inward with a Force push, he took a wide stance in the shattered doorway and positioned the blade of the thrumming lightsaber vertically in front of him. Through the weapon’s glow he saw a dozen or more Santhe guards in uniform seated around a table littered with food and drink containers gape at him in disbelief before reaching for weapons fastened to their hips or scurrying for others buried beneath the rubble of their celebratory meal.
Sidious waded into the room, returning volleys of blaster bolts from those first to fire, then attacked, raising his left hand to levitate two guards into midair before running his blade through each of them. Snarling like a beast, he whirled through a circle, ridding three guards of their heads and cutting a fourth in half at the waist. The blade impaled a guard who had flattened himself to the floor in abject terror, then went straight into the shrieking mouth of the last of them. As that one collapsed in a heap, Sidious caught a glimpse of himself in an ornate mirror: face contorted in rage, red hair in electrified disarray, mouth webbed with strands of thick saliva, eyes a radioactive shade of yellow."
But if anyone thinks Darth Plagueis was some pushover, here's another excerpt from the same novel - and this is without his lightsaber though:
"Others Plagueis felled with his hands by snapping necks and putting his fists through armored torsos. Spreading his arms wide, he clapped his hands together, turning every loose object in the vicinity into a deadly projectile. But the Maladians were far from run-ofthe-mill murderers. Members of the cult had killed and wounded Jedi, and in response to confronting Force powers, they didn’t shrink or flee but simply changed tactics, moving with astounding agility to surround Plagueis and wait for openings. The wait lasted only until Plagueis attempted to unleash lightning. His
second subsidiary heart failed, paralyzing him with pain and nearly plunging him into unconsciousness. The assassins wasted not a moment, throwing themselves at him in groups, though in a vain attempt to penetrate the Force shield he raised. Again he rallied, this time with a ragged sound dredged from deep inside that erupted from him like a sonic weapon, shattering the eardrums of those within ten meters and compelling the rest to bring their hands to their ears. In blinding motion his hands and feet smashed skulls and windpipes. He stopped once to conjure a Force wave that all but atomized the bodies of six Maladians. He spun through a turn, dragging the wave halfway around the room to kill half a dozen more."
One of the best of all the Star Wars Legends novels - and that's saying a lot. Also perhaps my favorite Star Wars audio book. Daniel Davis was absolutely SUPERB not only telling the story but performing the many voices of the book. He got the voices of Chancellor Palpatine, AND Darth Sidious) particularly down pat.He also sounds exactly what I imagine Plagueis sounding like. I also love that they didn't condense it. It's a long listen but very worth while. Coming in at about 15 hours and change in length, it's great for those long drives.

So one could make arguments talking about the size of an animal vs their weight. If you haven’t heard this before, it’s a pretty prevalent topic out there. I’ll post a link if you ask. (Look at how much ants can carry relative to their body weight as an example).
This means that if gravity is increased, only smaller animals would be able to carry their own weight. This obviously would decrease the potential speed of all animals.
Now onto energy. Assuming there aren’t animals which are hundreds of times more effective at burning energy than the animals on earth
(which would cause them to die of heat stroke or explode if it was possible with anything we currently know of because heat is a byproduct of work. Look up how long a cheetah can run for an example)
creatures will not be able to move at speeds much faster than the fastest animal on earth.
Unless we are talking about birds. It is theoretically possible to fall (“fly down”) faster on a planet with less atmosphere.

The use of electronic warfare planes, to jam enemy microwave radar, predates stealth, and was incredibly effective. You put out so much electronic noise that the enemy cannot target you.
In principal, this would work just as well for the Sith. In fact, it might be the most effective way to face multiple jedi at once. Certainly, if anyone would master this, Sidious was a good candidate.

  • @venkelos6996

I liked this video, but it reminded me of old lore I miss from the early 2000s, and other sources. When Wizards of the Coast owned the rights to make Star Wars games, they established Sith that didn't use Jedi Forms of Lightsaber Combat. Instead, they used their own powers. One such power was Dun Moch, where Jedi found it more difficult to call upon the Force safely, and another was a Sith Sorcery that opened them to spirit possession. They drew upon the knowledge, skill, power, and rage of the ancient Sith to enhance their abilities. In much the same way the Sith named Anakin Darth Vader, at least as much as Sidious did, I felt the unearthly yell he made as he spiraled toward the Masters was these Sith furthering the cause, even from the grave, while Dun Moch limited their own abilities to embrace the Force. This wad also why only Mace Windu, and not even Yoda, had a chance of winning, because the use of the Dark Side, via Vaapad, was the counter to Dun Moch; why Sith didn't use it on each other, and his own saber skill was superior to Palpatine's. That darkness, though, was what left Windu ready to kill him, even though it was wrong, showing Anakin what he needed to see, on that instant, to turn him away from the light. I'm not saying the Emperor wasn't a talented saber duelist, but I always saw him as, and preferred when he was more of a cerebral killer, with plans within plans, and using the Dark Side to win; using the Firce to enhance his body, the ancient Sith to enhance his power and skill, and his corruption to deprive the Jedi of their own needed advantage. Of course, I guess things have changed over the years, and I'm just clutching at the past, and a different version to what now is.
Sorry to ramble, and thanks for the fun video. It can be great fun, even with lore changes, to see how the Sith did things in hiding, from the likes of Darth Tenebrous, Plageus, and Sidious, even as the Jedi mostly believed them wiped out for ages.
