    Being completely honest, you misue the word “mistake” alot. I’m not saying you can’t have an opinion but just because you’re not a fan of something doesn’t mean they’re “mistakes” and as I’m sure you noticed there are a good chunk of people that liked what you deemed as mistakes. It’s just there for the people that like it, we all have different taste.

    Touching on your concerns with flute integration within the music, Takahashi never stated that "most tracks will include flute", and the flute is non-existent in the piece of music used for the first half of the trailer. Furthermore, a lot of Mitsuda's tweets have been about recording sessions with a large variety of different instruments being used and tweets describing an array of different styles of music being recorded, so I think your concerns about this don't have much basis.
    It's unfortunate the rest of your concerns treaded the tired, old-hat beratements of 2's character designs. 3 visibly shows a different design approach, so I don't understand the concerns there, tbh.
    Lastly, your concerns about how the maps could feel rehashed cause of references in the topography: 3 is connecting the worlds of 1 & 2, so naturally there is going to be some familiar topography that carries over into the world of 3. But it doesn't exist to only connect the worlds of 1 & 2, 3 is also a completely new entry that is setting out for the future. The world of Aionios is still uniquely its own. The same principle is applied to the story: completely new story with a new cast and some returning characters.

    Can't really agree on the "mistake" concerns (as they're not even mistakes to begin with but creative decisions you and some people don't like -and that's fine-, but other people don't mind or really like). There's nothing wrong with sexy designs masculine or feminine (you should see my own XenoX male avatars and Shulk was always in swimming pants lol). I know there's lately a bigger and bigger "prudish" movement on social media that won't like anything sexy and would call it "problematic" but MonolithSoft always have this sexualised designs since Xenosaga and even if it's toned down for Xeno3 fearing some kind of "cancelation" they won't suddenly make all characters nuns and monks just to please a loud minority but I digress. I also can't agree with the assertion about "normal proportions" talking about Pyra/Mythra as there're plenty of women with those kind of... attributes (that are also natural and not operated lol). I personally know a few and they would be very upset if some people says they got an "unnatural" body. And anyway in fantasy there's nothing wrong with some exaggeration or creative licenses (if there are made with good or bad taste is something completely subjective and personal). Lastly, humor is subjective, too.
    Other than that great video and channel! I'm already subscribed and I can't wait to see more Xeno content from you!

    I find it odd that people feel so uncomfortable with sexual themes as it’s a natural part of life and a huge goldmine for humor. Maybe it’s due to immaturity or lack of said topic in their lives but things like that whether male or female shouldn’t be a big deal IMO but to each his own. Although I agree that overly sexualized character and/or topics all over the place in a game can be detrimental to quality. Things should be done in good taste and personally I even found the Nopon joke funny, it’s meant to be a slight on his character as you can see how everyone else is insulting him for it, rightfully so.

    Those mistakes monolith keeps making that you keep bringing up are not actual mistakes. Those are intentionally added and will most likely be kept in the new game because that is what they societally find normal and only feel cringe and awkward to us because of culture shock/difference that we are unaccustomed to. I don't think we'll have fully free and open world, or flying. Looking at the distant spikes that are in every xenoblade game, in X they're a little different cuz they're flattened out at the top, since you can actually walk on them. In this one and in XC1 & XC2, the spikes are thinner and more pointy, so you probably can't land on them

  • @edgarjuarez2241

    People have already pointed out your misuse of the word "mistake" so I won't go into that.
    However I have to point out that you (and many other people for that matter) misuse the word "realistic", your concern #2 was perfectly fine until you said "realistically proportioned", you can dislike Pyra and Mythra's, and many other blade designs without bringing up their proportions, especially considering that not even Dahlia's are unrealistic, just not as common (in her case) all you need to do is do a bit of people watching and you'll find a decent amount of people that fall into their proportions.
    Second the term "realistic" itself shouldn't really be applied to Blades in the first place, Boreas, Finch and Dromarch are the perfect example of why, then there's the fact that Dahlia's hair is actually her ears, her hands are animal-like with thumbs, and her feet aside from being animal-like as well, also have some disturbing looking claw heels, there's also Newt's eye that exists for no real reason, Azami and Adenine not having abdomens, and them being a mannequin and made out of pages respecrively, based on all of this, there really is no amount of realism stopping a blade from being an SMT Mara, or just two floating breasts the size of Boreas and a head.

    imo, there's absolutely nothing wrong with having the somewhat sexy designs for both male and female characters we have in Xenoblade. It was rated 15+ in Japan, and this series is comparatively tame if you look at some PG 13+ animes out there (Shokugeki no Souma, Kill La Kill, To Love Ru Darkness, etc...).
    The main characters shown from 3 are also pretty damn sexy, but it follows more the trends geared towards young adults rather than teens like 2 was.
    idk, it's just funny when I see someone blaming sexualization or fan service when they don't enjoy a certain aspect of a character, but ignore that a character is sexualized when they enjoy how their design looks. Liking a sexy character does not make you a creep lmao
    But anyway. Moving on.
    I think a very good point you brought up are the environments. X1 and XX had very expansive and awe-inspiring sceneries much to their favor, but also due to how their worlds were structured compared to X2. Basically, in 1 and X you could see how each zone connected to each other to form this huge structure, and both their narratives and design helped keep the player immersed enough to trust the game that this is how everything is supposed to look. X2 had very varied designs, but due to how each landmass needed to fit into a fraction of a single entity, they felt disconnected from eachother. Maybe if you could see the other Titans moving around in the distance, or had a part in the story where 2 of them got close enough that you could travel on foot the immersion would be a tad stronger.
    Now with 1 and 2's zones combining and evolving as a whole should be very interesting. As everything now will probably be a combined landmass, we might see the more exotic designs from 2 in a more connected way like 1 and X. I think they'll rehash some motiffs from old zones to indicate which areas they used to be (like the Mechonis hand, Makna Forest's lush jungles, etc...), but in terms of design I'm gonna bet on all being mostly new.

    • @NuiYabuko
      @NuiYabuko 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sexy designs are one thing, oversexualisation another.
      There isn't also much sexy and especially not oversexualised about the protags of XC3.
      XC1's world was overall quite flat, though, XC2's feels closer to XCX in that you have more nooks and crannies to discover and also feel more diverse as an ecosystem from what I remember.

    • @Samuel-bp3oh
      @Samuel-bp3oh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@NuiYabuko What you percieve as oversexualised may not be perceived as oversexualised by another person, so who are you to judge what is oversexualised and what isn't? You're entitled to your opinion but don't pass it off as fact.

    • @Hambs23
      @Hambs23 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@NuiYabuko See what I mean when I say people ignore the sexyness? It doesn't need much to make a character sexually appealing. Being fit, showing a fair bit of skin and/or wearing skin thight clothes that show their body shape. As I said, the characters in X3 so far follow more closely the trends that make characters appealing to young adults, while X2 was more geared towards teens (Seinen vs Shonen manga designs, if you will). As far as I can see, there's nothing that makes the new characters any less sexy or sexualized than the ones in 2, actually I think they're even more, just with a different tone. There's a far and wide gap between the designs in 2, or Xenoblade series in general, and actually oversexualized stuff like Yubisaki kara Honki no Netsujou or Sin Nanatsu no Taizai. X3 characters are all handsome, there's no average or ugly looking characters, they ARE sexualized.
      And back to the environments. I see what you mean. That's something that went over my head when analyzing the world design. The emptiness is pretty much a thing with a lot of the designs made by Monolith Soft. It helps making the world wider, giving it a bigger sense of scale when traveling from one point to another, so I wouldn't say it's inherently a bad thing. But it deffinitely can go overboard like with Eryth Sea, with way too much ground (or water in this case) to cover with nothing to do aside from collectibles.
      Looking back on it with this perspective I can see how while 1 and X felt more immersive (imo), but X and 2 were a lot more fun to travel while uncovering secrets and finding new organic viewpoints aside from the regular XenoB activities like collecting items on the ground and killing monsters.
      Now I miss X, dang it! lol

    • @janrosa7243
      @janrosa7243 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Hambs23 Nah the designs in too were definitely far more overly-sexualized it's not just a matter of cultural difference but also purpose. There may be a reason for Pyra to have a suit that shows as much skin as it does. But the same can't be said for other blades in the story and it doesn't really help that there are clear tones of sexualization of minors (granted still can be considered cultural differences but arguably this issue needs to be addressed more in the mainstream for all countries) and the designs for many other female blades don't fit what their intended personalities should be. People have noted that Pyra's personality would better contrast Mythra with her being far more guarded and having her more covered up and Mythra remaining as the far more expressive and literally "full view" character. This I personally believe would highlight their duality much better.
      Couple that with issues of camera work and scenes. The anime trope thing is really jarring and honestly harms the story more than anything and serves as a disservice to the story in favor of fanservice. (Spoilers follow)
      It still bothers me to this day that moments after Mythra's awakening scene we get the tropy "BAKA Pervert" scene with Mythra and we have Rex being apologetic and whatever. This scene could actually work had it been set up properly and come a tad later in the story after there had been far more levity. We just went over a major character death and yet here we have Mythra pulling this nonsense because of a trait Pyra had never previously exhibited. Unless we're to assume that Mythra is the only one that sleep walks then it just makes it all the more strange that it's never brought up again. It's a clear showing that this was a gratuitos fan service scene.
      Also, there's no reason for her chest to be two lumps the size of her face it also doesn't help that they don't behave naturally and just makes her look really jarring in movement and framing. Especially in emotional scenes wherein the character is meant to give their hearts out yet because the design is so risque that many shots inadvertently give us an upskirt or "window" shot rather than have a focus on the protagonists. Which is a shame because facial animations in X2 really are a step up from prior games.
      I don't disagree the series has had sexy designs but for the most part they had purpose or ( in the case of X that definitely had some of the most revealing with the swimsuit outfits) they were entirely optional and never got in the way of the main story. To state X2 didn't have this issue is purposeful ignorance. To state X3 is anywhere near the level of X2 at this stage is clearly misleading at worst considering designs are clearly much more akin to that of X1 and purely conjecture at best considering we have no idea how this issue (if it even is one) will be in the full release as of this point.

    • @derbear3403
      @derbear3403 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I found 1s world more immersion breaking than 2s. With 2 you couldn't simply walk from one titan to another, sure. But the world was built in a way that would make such a thing a nigh impossibility. The premise of 2s world is that there are only so many large titans drifting in circles around the world tree in a massive sea of clouds. That kind of premise would make impossible if not near impossible to simply walk on foot from one titan to the other. If anything, being able to walk from 1 titan to the other would be more likely to be immersion breaking due to the unlikelihood of two titans being so close that their bodies would collide with each other. And with the way 2 has it, it also allows each titan to have its own environment and climate without having to worry as much about relating to other nearby areas. Which can't be said about 1s world.
      For example. How come Valek mountain is the only area in 1 with a cold snowy climate? According to Alvis its because "it only snows this high up on the bionis" But that explanation doesn't exactly fit considering at the highest point of this area, its connected to Makna forest, probably the warmest area in the game. And Eryth sea is even higher up yet still has a tropical climate. Compare that to 2s snow area, Tantal. Why is Genbu so cold and fridged compared to other titans like Uraya? Well it turns out its from a combination of a large chunk of Genbu's ether flow being siphoned out to make core chips and hiding away in a colder region fearing contact with other nations wanting to be as isolationist as possible. This explanation covers Genbu's unique climate while not conflicting with the status of other areas in the game and keep the world coherent.

      @@linkalot7415 Why are you people so god damn ignorant of the fact that you can give Pyra and Myrthra AUX cores to make them less “sexualized”! It’s annoying how you peons, especially XBC 1 xenophobes that hate female anatomy, want to westernize Japanese games into trashy western culture garbage to be more “approachable”.

      @@deredere-sama5995 C'mon now. I myself am a fan of X2's character designs in general, but even I think that's a tall order you're recommending for people that aren't. Having to grind a DLC minigame that some might not attempt to do till endgame in order to have the option to tone down the "sexyness" of a character can hardly fit into what one could consider as "customization".
      A bit off topic, but I like how they handled the lack of customization into the story. And it was kinda expected to not have much of it with the sheer amount of usable uniquely designed, modeled, voiced and playable Blades we got.

    If you don't like "uncomfortable anime scenes" go play a western rpg. They are a dime a dozen. I'm so sick of entitled westerners trying to force their pearl clutching aversion to sexuality on other cultures. We don't appreciate it!
