This game was never going anywhere. Has the writing not been on the wall for awhile? I don’t see why anyone would be surprised at this point, everything they’ve released surrounding the game doesn’t look promising and screams DOA (I’d bet money on it if I could). Especially considering recent superhero games like The Avengers, Gotham Knights, or Spiderman 2.
Nah, I hope you're right. I'm sick, and tired of these greedy ass corporations, shoving their garbage down our throats. They need to be held accountable for their actions.
I've known since the day the leaks came out about it being a live service looter shooter that the game was doomed and all of its delays were just delaying the inevitable. So sad to see this as Kevin Conroys' final performance as Batman :(
I love playing live shooter games that are just reskins of the same games in the genre. My favorite part is when I do the exact same thing I do in another game, except now it's with the super quirky Harley Quinn.
The gameplay just looks painful to watch.. is just sad seeing where the current Rocksteady is heading.. Eventhough the previous teams left the company years ago. :(
Oh no, soulless corporate-mandated live-service big IP product will not perform according to unreasonable expected projections Time to mass layoff some artists again then, amiright
From what I've seen here's also why the entire concept falls apart: They don't do anything special to take on the justice league, just show up and fight them. Like the Flash. He should be able to crush every single person there in a nanosecond. Bullets should be hilarious to him. They could have had a whole series of heist like missions around getting the stuff you need to fight the Flash, some way to slow him down or weaken him, leading to a boss fight where he's heavily nerfed. It's shallow and lame execution.
I think it should be that they are fighting the control over them with them trying to limit themselves as much as they can To show their willpower that there strong enough to somewhat fight it and are willing to be killed by limiting themselves so they won't hurt any innocent people
Or they can have reverse flash be a char instead of mister boomerang of all people Only reason why Harley there because of popularity so if rf takes boomerang spot that means it be all rounder:Harley dexterity:Deathshot Power:king shark Fast:rf
By that logic Flash should beat everyone in the DC universe By that logic Green Lantern contructs should also beat everyone in the DC universe DC is trash so none of power scaling and abilities matter in its storytelling
There actually is a method to fight Flash in an entertaining way as a game mechanic, but ironically it was Batman who developed it. Some kind of adhesive which is hard to remove by speedsters. Use it to slow Flash. Setting up a trap in advance would work and each phase would progressively get harder and you need to adapt. Similar to Mr. Freeze’s boss fight in Arkham City. You have to adjust how you take him on after each takedown, never the same way twice. And they couldn’t have thought up something like this or better?
I liked that one trap in the cartoon movie where Vandel Savage uses Batman's contingency plans against the Justice League. In that movie, they managed to strap a bomb to the Flash that goes off if he slows down or tries to take it off meaning he has to basically keep running until he will get tired and blow up.
They probably did, in preproduction. WB probably told them the only way the project would see the light of day was contingent on making the game more similar to the kinds of games that were already profitable and popular.
@@Square1production Exactly this. I want the Suicide Squad game Rocksteady was likely _going_ to make before WB ordered them to shoehorn live service elements into it.
@@Square1production Why do people automatically assume it's WB that make these calls and not Rocksteady? Is there any actually proof of that? Not being sarcastic, this is something I want to know.
Looking at the suicide squad GUI, I am reminded of the bit in the Ready Player One movie where the villain is like "We can fill people's peripheral vision with 70% ads before enduing seizures."
Worse than that, at least Avengers had characters that played uniquely different from each other. Suicide Squad has everyone playing the same character with different sizes.
It's pretty obvious now why they wouldn't show the UI during any of the gameplay demos. They wanted this game to look like an mmo/esports live service but they didn't want people to know that before launch. The game looks absolutely dreadful and soul sucking, it's absolutely nothing I want to be a part of.
This. A much better structure would be having the missions leading up to fighting them basically be designed to rig things against them. So when you actually fight them, it makes sense because the justice league are severely weakened and actually possible
I think the biggest issue is the disparity between the subject matter and the type of game they're shoehorning it into. Superhero movies/games are meant to make you feel powerful. Looter shooters are meant to make you feel weak and encourage you to grind until you're strong. Superheroes have distinct signature powers and abilities, so their power levels are somewhat pre-determined. Grindy looter mechanics completely undermine that and makes the characters feel generic, and their "big names" feel disingenuous. .
@@WeAreN1nja Not necessarily. Anti-heroes are often written as less powerful counterparts to their far more powerful accomplices and adversaries. If you have the power to be on top, you often wouldn’t need to be written as an antihero. For this in particular I look at this game and it reminds me of the Boys if you’ve ever seen that show.
@MrProdigy810 There are plenty of powerful antiheroes. Spawn and Black Adam immediately spring to mind. In the case of KTJL, I think a varied, extensive build system does a disservice to moderately popular/well-known characters with well-defined traits and power sets. Looters are better suited to characters designed specifically for the in-game systems/world, or created characters designed with the game world in mind.
What?! People didn’t see this coming?! Do tell. I saw this coming from a mile away and I’m a HUGE RockSteady fan. I just could always tell that this wasn’t the game for them. Wonder what the story will be when it bombs…
Oh you can bet it will be everyone but their faults. We will all just be bigots, racist, sexist, etc. All the good old classic modern excuses to not have to take responsibility for crappy decisions and their head in the sand while also claiming victim points.
Same story as it has been for a while now; WB are greedy fucks who ruin almost everything they touch. Obviously Rocksteady isn’t innocent, but WB has a horrible track record of stuffing its games full of FTP level micro transactions. The difference is that people overlook it in MK is because the core gameplay is engaging, which doesn’t seem to be the case here
It seems like people are afraid to admit the game looks bad just because it's Rocksteady. Let's call a spade a spade. It's very likely this is going to be Avengers 2.0. The writing is on the wall here.
Rocksteady knows how to make a good game. It really feels like Rocksteady was forced to develop this game against their will, and it's just being shoved to market by an invisible hand despite the backlash and negative reactions.
There is the ship of Theseus analogy about those big studios having long going series. Over time, pretty much all the key people from the original games got replaced with others. Is it still the same studio? I think it fits best for bioware and doesn't fit Nintendo. They won't lose Miyamoto etc. until he is physically unable to continue. Fortunately, they all raised younger generations as successors for the producer and director roles while still staying there and mentoring. It's rare though.
A tradionally single-player studio making a live service multi-player game has never worked out as far as I know. This is going to be extremely generic and heavily focus on the live service MD not on the fun
Remember that trailer where the Flash, so amused by the squad’s attempts to kill him with mere guns, says “Really? Why don’t you just mail me the bullet?” Yeah, great line. Anyways, here’s a boss fight that involves shooting the Flash to death. But seriously, c’mon. The ONLY reason you’d design a Flash boss fight like this is if you had the creative limitation of needing to be a live service looter shooter. Why not let the player place traps to slow him down? Or maybe even a power-up that lets you temporarily match his speed? Because the game isn’t actually trying to be fun, it’s trying to meet the bare minimum of engagement so they can sell you skins.
The Heimdall fight in GOW Ragnarok is sooo perfect for something like Flash. Heimdall can foresee your attacks so you have to use the duplicating Draupnir Spear to place traps in the arena. And if you throw the spears at him directly, he will sometimes catch them and you can detonate the spears while he is holding them to do damage. But that only happened because the game's narrative involved Kratos receiving that very specific weapon. In a looter shooter where your only weapon is guns, you can't pull that off.
@@hannahw7023 which still doesn't make sense at all. If he can predict the future, why can't he predict the traps, duplicating spears or the exploding ones? -.-
The modern gaming industry, at least the stuff with any money behind it, is nothing but this corporate analytics garbage. They make more money giving these “service” games away for free. That’s how many mindless consumers eat up this service game garbage. Now even Rocksteady is getting in on it. This industry is doomed if it keeps going this way. We’ll end up like Hollywood and their pipeline of pure sht.
Rocksteady: Has a player roster that consists of 4 unique characters with their own distinct powers and skill sets that could lead to fun and varied gameplay Also Rocksteady: G U N
Why yes, the game GUN was a pretty good game. It's like a Red Dead Redemption before Red Dead Redemption, but after Red Dead Revolver..... Either way it's a pretty good game and you should play that instead of Suicide Squad....
Okay too be fair wtf are you going to do with chars like Harley, boomerang, and dead shoot to set them apart you can only do it by giving them items that are from groups that they been in even then I can't think up anything for dead shoot
At this point. We should stop labeling things as “AAA” and should just now be corporate trash. Since it’s far more likely you’re going to get poor thought out cash crabs from them than you will from the true “AAA” developers, Indy developers.
yes you're right. The definition of AAA has shifted from "best of the best with loads of money to develop" to "soulless poorly thought out corporate garbage cash grab".
I will simply enjoy watching the story cutscenes on youtube. It's the only and best way to enjoy this game and you don't even have to give them a dime!! Win win situation with nothing to lose, let others do the grind, I'll only take the fun!
@@businessdawg2You don't spend a dime on a trash game lol that's the fun part and if the cut scenes/story sucks you had fun NOT BUYING THE GAME. It's not a hard concept lmaooo
I feel it would have been more interesting if they separated Metropolis into districts, each controled by a justice league member. In each district, you have to do a series of missions to 1. Find the hero's lair, and 2. Setup a way to rig the final confrontation in your favor so that beating them is actually possible. Doing missions in a district could fill an unseen "danger" meter, and as it goes up, the more likely that hero is to come after you. If RNG combined with the danger meter decides that they come after you, it is them at 100% and they are basically unbeatable. If you trigger them, you have to escape. If they kill your squad, it sets back your progess in that district. You can lower the danger meter by spend8ng time outside of the district or doing missions in other districts. This would incentivise jumping from target to target instead of just focusing one down. It would also help to give that feeling that you sre fighting THE Justice League and that you are always on the back foot.
@@mst3kharrisPerfect! And there should be occasional swarms of bats that fly out of alleyways and sewers when you enter them, even though it's still Metropolis!
It's genuinely so upsetting that this was Kevin Conroy's final performance as Batman. A legitimate lengend of voice acting goes out in a fizzle, makes me really sad.
I'm shocked this game didn't get canceled. Who asked for another live service game? One that looks terrible at that? It has never looked like a good game.
What would’ve been cool for the flash fight is to have one player use the environment to stop him from running around while the others attack-and to make him learn from his mistakes so you can’t use the same strategy twice, sort of like the Mr. freeze fight. So maybe, using a construction truck carrying hot tar to glue his feet to the ground, using King Shark to lure him underwater, even knocking over a banana cart to make him slip… that would be kinda humorous. And from the sounds of this, it’d better than what we’ll be eventually getting 😬
Let's be honest the real reason they lifted the NDA was because of all the negative press the past few days and were hoping testers would say "it's not that bad"
They deserve everything coming to them, seeing as they were warned well in advance of what players didnt want. They still went ahead with exactly what people were telling them they didnt want. They were more interested in getting as much money as possible, and because they didnt listen, they are gonna not even get what they want.
@AkasagiPhan see if I had pinned it down to one group, someone would just say "it's not their fault" and simply pass the buck. I think everyone at the company deserves what's coming because everyone was apart of it, so everyone is responsible for the product that is produced. That's what a team does, they succeed or fail as a team. As a developer, you know what kind of product you are producing and you can actually get the fuck out or come up with an exit strategy because you are in a dead end project. I'm not gonna feel sorry for devs even if they aren't the ones making the decisions because at the end of the day, they are the ones producing the product and know exactly how that thing will turn out, even before the people making the decisions. The devs who don't believe in the project should be been reassigned to another project, or gotten out already. Everyone at the company is to blame, and while some hold more responsibility for it, everyone is still guilty for the product that was produced.
@@crashzone6600 you are speaking like either a kid or a person who never work for a company. You think changing your job is that easy? Especially if you have a family to provide for? And with all that layoffs in the industry? Not to mention if you have a personal attachment to your co-workers? With your logic should Kevin Conroy be blamed for voicing Batman as he helped with producing the product too?
@@AkasagiPhan There are a few caveats, to what I said. If you are under contract, you are exempt, because frankly you have no choice. If the devs are contracted, then they hold no blame. They were doing what they must. Let me ask you then, by your own logic and justification, only officers and high up leadership are responsible for what the nazis did correct? Even the common soldiers arent responsible for what they were doing in concentration camps correct? Or would you like to backtrack? In the case for nazis, I would actually agree with you in that yeah not all nazis were bad, because simply put, soldiers are forced to do what they did, either by draft or gunpoint, and even for the sake of their families. Most voice actors are independent contractors, and arent actually apart of the studio. They arent actual employees so they arent actually apart of the team, or even apart of the company, so they have no blame. It would be like pointing to the plumber and saying is this person responsible, too? Most voice actors have no clue what the project is because they arent actually apart of it. They arent actually a part of the team. Atleast for video games that is. It becomes a little different when it is associated with like a motion picture or an anime, and you are working with a script. Unless they only give you a partial script, with only your lines, then you know exactly what the story you are telling with the script alone.
Even the infamous Anthem had something unique. The fly mechanic was HIS thing, and was noticed for that. From what i saw, Suicide Squad KtJL seems generic at it most fundamental level. If someone told me that it was a random looter shooter but modded with Suicide Squad skins, I could believe it.
The nerd in me was always puzzled how the writers thought this group is supposed to take on the entire Justice League when Batman alone has beaten Harley and Deadshot multiple times.
Doesn't matter how deeply the writers have actually thought about it. The story must simply be contorted around the base mechanics of the game, as well as its function: Sell MTX.
Yeah I feel like this has the same issue as the suicide squad movie with Will Smith, this is mission is more for superheroes not the suicide squad. Why do they always want them to save the world instead of doing a Blackops mission like Assault on Arkham
A cool mechanic would be some in game device that made you as fast as the flash but sapped your health as you used it because as a nonspeedster you were tearing yourself apart by moving that fast. Then you would have to carefully choose when to engage him and make those engagements count.
This isn't Rocksteady's fault at all. WB and David Zaslav are to blame since they're the ones forcing a lot of WB game dev teams to make live services. All he cares about is money, the Devs just want to make a damn video game.
They have dug their hole so deep they figured it would be easier to continue digging rather trying to climb out. Gotta respect their tenacity, if nothing else.
It's a combination of Sweet Baby's involvement, predatory monetization, and boring cookie-cutter gameplay we've all seen before, oh and that fetish where Sony games tend to have characters who don't know when to be quiet... The brutality is justified.
Sweet Baby Inc is a company created in 2018 in order to water down the video game i industry with slop stories, though their website will butter you up with cuter language. Make no mistake, Sweet Baby is here to destroy the writing g and characters of any game they touch.
Sounds like they're stuck between a rock and a hard place with the Flash. On one hand, I'm glad to see someone actually making a speedster seem fast and annoying. On the other hand, that looks like hell to flight.
Really feels like a case of the publisher pushing a popular framework that they think is most profitable (which is sadly often the case) onto a recognisable IP, rather than letting the developers decide what type of game it should be. That said, it still doesn't really excuse the fact that the different characters don't feel individually unique to play. Just because it is the same studio, that doesn't mean the same talented employees are the ones making it, it was 8-9 years since Arkham Knight, much of the talent behind that series has probably moved on.
@@Hasan-hm5fy new games don't necessarily have to have batman as the main character to work. This game could've worked wonders if it was a heavy story game without the fluff.
@@shalindelta7Yeah like the robins could have potential story material like Red Hood and Nightwing. Even his villains like Deathstroke or even the suicide squad could take upon AK Scarecrow level threats not JL lol.
Chasing trends is a sign of incompetence. This is why the market oversaturates and terms like "live service" turn into red flags. I won't even think about giving this game a fair shake, simply because I am sick and tired of live services. I gain nothing from it. Do you really think I will return to an old game several months later, after all the hype has died down and I am completely out of it? Yeah, right... As if I didn't have a thousand other games I could play instead. The freaking egos of these companies, I swear...
I'm just upset this is Kevin's last voice job as batman. I could see deadshot and Harley using guns but boomerang and king shark...no no. Maybe maybe king Shark could have used rocket launchers or heavy guns or melee weapons and I get boomerang can't just use boomerangs as his main weapons, maybe he could use pistols at least or a crossbow but it would be difficult to make him work
Or maybe they could have built a game around the actual powers and abilities of the characters they used that would have been interesting instead of making a plug-and-play looter shooter where they just have to plug in branded IP without even making the gameplay make sense.
Of course it dowsn't feel like the original Arkham devs. They've all left. Most of the ones that did the real work, the code monkeys NO ONE mentions, they were fired after the FIRST game was done. Same with City. The leadership is also gone now. What did you expect??
Harley getting a weird purple magical double jump just feels... So weird. A lot of this just feels like they had a system designed, then just slapped the DC supervillain aesthetic on top of it even though it didn't fit. :(
Hopefully, this will inspire them to go back to basics, and that's a story driven single-player game, like Red Hood. I think the ending for the game will reboot the arkhamverse with flash running back to the past to redo the events of braniacs doing, thus rebooting the timeline and having a new batman to continue the arkhamverse.
yes, and knowing that, it shows how much respect these studios give to the players. But people still buy. Why would they change their recipe? They do what they do for money. If they have it, why change? It just works!
I know I for one couldn't wait to play with the iconic power sets of these characters. Which is having a jetpack, and using a gun. Right? That's what they are all famous for?
I mean they have no really iconic stuff I can only think of stuff that might make sense to give to them but it be weird Harley:joker gas,mr freeze gun, some sort of item from poison ivy, whip from catwoman, firefly flame thrower and jetpack, and fear gas Captain boomerang:all the stuff that from the crew he in like mirror master mirror King shark:gains Aquaman trident after beating him Dead shoot:I can't think of anything
@@gameuniverse5973Deadshot could be the area lockdown guy. Throw down shielding, tripwire/laser traps, different ammo types for Deadshot's player thatcan perhaps be distributed to allies and earned based on interaction with special points in the environment and/or engaged enemy types.
My question is why is there a battle with a character who can literally catch and dodge bullets where the only way to stop them is by shooting them with a gun? That is the dumbest and most uncreative thing they could have possibly done (though I suspect it gets worse from there).
Worst-case, the fight is a generic looter shooter boss fight. Best-case, it looks like a boss I would find in Destiny 2. Ultimately the fight looks real boring unless high damage numbers and flashy effects make you happy, and that is ONLY the FLASH boss fight. I hate to see the rest of the game.
Considering how fast The Flash is supposed to be to begin with, designing a boss battle *against* him feels like it would be an uphill battle to begin with, regardless of what type of gameplay is used
That's absolutely true but usually when a villain beats Flash in a fight (or at least makes Flash struggle), they're usually A) another speedster, or B) someone who outsmarts Flash. Justice League Doom is a great example. Flash is tricked into equipping a heart-rate monitor. He is then told that if his heart-rate decreases, a bomb will go off in the city. Flash is then forced to keep running until he either finds a solution or his heart explodes. God of War Ragnarok also has a great boss battle against an untouchable foe. Heimdall has the power to foresee attacks, so the player must use a duplicating spear to set up traps in the arena and detonate them when Heimdall isn't paying attention. Or, they can throw the weapon at Heimdall, forcing him to catch it, at which point it can be detonated while he is holding it. So while it definitely takes some creativity to create an encounter against Flash, it can be done without making it feel cheap. Either find a way to nerf his abilities, or outsmart him during the bossfight. I fully believe the staff at Rocksteady are capable of coming up with creative bossfights. But trying to fight Flash with a gun is just conceptually stupid.
Distractions. Gasses. Sub-zero Temperatures. Enclosed Spaces. Electrical Barriers. Flash can vibrate out of most things but if you put the fight in a severely booby trapped arena and have him made vulnerable only when you trigger certain unique set ups you can justify a more balanced encounter. It'd be like the fight against Mr Freeze but with the guy zipping around at x10000 speed while half your team distracts and the other half set up the next traps to lure Flash into.
I mean no offense but if characters like the flash and superman were not so cartoonishly overpowered they would probably have better media especially video games. These characters feel like they were made by that one kid in the playground who changes the rules every time they lose.
I really appreciate how polite you are, even if you have criticisms! Its really nice and mature, and it gives me faith that you want to assume the best until proven otherwise. I also like how you present multiple perspectives and try to present as much of the story as you can before giving your own thoughts
I was curious to how they would do Flash. Putting Flash in the closed beta or any of the justice league boss fights at early access was a bad idea to begin with, it really sets a tone for what to expect when it comes to gameplay and other boss encounters.
Square enix: Makes Avengers live service game that absolutely flops hard and is still made fun of to this day Rocksteady: let’s do exactly the same thing as them but with dc characters from suicide squad, bc even though they’re game flopped, I’m sure ours won’t even though it’s the same live service slop bs 😄
The thing about a lot of the reviews from people that had access to the alpha are people that are already fans of the games. They'll be more willing to overlook certain aspects that may make the game not so enjoyable to others. Or they're already looter shooter fans. Rock Steady dosen't have to try to win them over, they need to try to win over people like me who hate looter shooters. Nothing they've shown makes me want to play the game at all
The only looter shooters even worthy of being played are Destiny 2, Borderlands, and to an extent Outriders, simply because it's a one and done game that isn't a live service, but it still unfortunately requires internet to play it, which is a severe detriment.
I am still trying to figure out how someone thought a game based around you killing your super heroes would sell well. Why would I want to buy a game where I kill batman, superman, or the flash unless I was just some edgy little shit?
Remember, Persona 3 Reload comes out the same day/date. Personally, my money is going towards P3R. No questions asked. Plus, I love the Persona franchise.
It's another third person looter shooter. It doesn't matter if it's the same team that made the Arkham series. They're not perfect, never have been, people didn't love every choice they made with Knight. The reality is that their fan base didn't want a live service game. So best of luck to them for pulling people away from Fortnite and Warzone I guess.
Can you guys please give it a chance? I aIready pre ordered the deIuxe edition, I can't wait to pIay as HarIey in her classic suit, I need this game to perform good since I already bought it so please give it a chance.
Yeah, it's not like he accepted the role. Kevin was very selective about what he did. He chose to come back for this game because he saw something in it. I don't see it as disrespect, he took the role himself.
@@iaqh You are the problem and why these companies keep releasing garbage. Shame on you for pre ordering and giving them money before the game is even released. What is wrong with you?
Suicide Squad killed their launch ever since they showcased the game play and announced its live service. I was really excited for the game when the first trailer dropped. I was hyped but once the gameplay was shown and more details of what the game really is, I just did t care for it anymore.
This game looks horrible 💀 We asked so much for a Superman/Flash game and this is what we get.. Can’t believe corpos still pushing out this live service bs. Look at how amazing games like Spider-Man, Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3 etc are doing. We want immerse Superhero single player games like the Arkham series that made us feel like the perfect incarnation of the character. Everyone fights exactly the same in this game it’s so dry and uncreative. I really can’t believe this is the same studio I grew up on the Arkham series with, it’s just baffling how low the quality dropped.
I'm already playing two live service games, which makes any new live service uninteresting by default. Because People don't have the time and money to play more than a few live service games. But companies don't understand that. They think every game can be the next World of Warcraft, or Destiny, or Warframe. But my time is limited, I already barely get to play all the singleplayer games I want to, so playing another live service is the last thing I'm gonna do. What I'm trying to say is: Even if the game ends up being great, I'll never give it a chance because it would be another live service.
The release date was the final nail in this game's coffin for me. It drops the same day as Persona 3 Reload so I know which game I'm getting. With FF7 Rebirth dropping later in the month my dance card is full. Tough luck Cucksteady, see you in the bargain bin XD
Cucksteady 😂😂😂😂 WB is about to feel the harsh lesson called value and consumer interest. Getting whacked between Persona 3 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Ooooof
i snacked all batman games and that new trash justice game, on humble bundle for 10€, i would never pay for, especially when all i wanted where the arkham games.
I played the beta test and honestly it was fun but I did come to realize that it is very average and I felt like for a full length game it would be very repetitive. Also its definitely a game designed around multiplayer and I find it hard to think it would be fun to play-through solo.
The Flash boss fight is just unimaginative design, whoever made that does not understand what makes games fun to play. And they decided to push that to playtesters and wanted to showcase it in their gameplay material as if they are proud of that. How? I'm quite shocked if they decide to leave it like that despite all the feedback. Maybe it will happen before the 2-hour mark so whoever bought the game can still file a refund?
The fact that characters feeling too similar and not like their character should being one of the main fears and complaints after the reveal still hasn't been fixed is proof how hard it is to turn a video game around when it's been designed from the ground up (or close) for a live service model is a BAD IDEA
The studio might be called Rocksteady but it probably isn’t anymore. It’s the people that make the studio and a lot of developers, leadership, and talent left.
Guys, WTF was actually looking forward to this game anyways? I had ZERO intention of playing this game at all (one real criticism, why does Harlequin look soo hideous!!?). My eyes truly glazed over when it was shown at any game event or showcase, I intentionally fast forwarded it when ever I could. WHO CARES! Lets talk about how excited we are for Granblue Fantasy Relink and Dragons Dogma II Hell yea!!
I got burned once because of a live service never again, especially not this one. All those years of development just wasted for a trend chasing DOA game.
For a fight like The Flash. You could have it where when he hits you via "flashing" and it doesn't send you flying. But, rather connects with a hit to the face (with your characters head getting knocked full-body like in a direction) causing a stagger, and so it doesn't seem like the same move. One stagger could be your character reacting to a face shot like I mentioned, then another being a blow to the chest hunching you over while popping into the air a bit(VA gasping here lol), and one knocking you to a knee indicating a leg or knee shot etc. It would still be him just flashing through you but you would know by your character's reaction. This would make it less frustrating and feeling like you are out of control of the situation/getting lost. But, there are some mixed in that are "cutscene"-like where it shows a connecting hit momentarily. Now, if you have done enough damage to him before that special hit connects, it gives you a chance to react or something... triggering a "downed state" or damage that is significant. This could introduce a pattern players have to figure out. Or, you have to have a friendly near you who does the reaction etc. That way it's not like "Flash took a knee, everyone get him during this clearly given scenario" it would feel like you guys did something to earn that opportunity. Hopefully, what I have in mind got through in these text. You would have to be on guard to react anytime you get hit and you wouldn't know if you reached damage threshold. This way your teamates can flame you when you fuck up the reaction input or miss it entirely lmao.
Preview events are there to get people hyped by witnessing a good game, but seems it had to opposite effect. Hard pass for me. I'm waiting for Dragons. Dogma two, and will get that when it's a few months in when bugs are ironed out.
Suppose one should just accept this as the inevitable downfall. I mean, the Arkham games were amazing - some more so than others, but they overall delivered an amazingly good time. Sadly, the universe has to balance itself out sooner or later. Cannot expect to produce greatness like that for years and years without some sort of misstep along the way. Only, well, the powers that be really seem to have it out for Rocksteady. Like, damn. I mean, balance is one thing, but a targeted assassination like this - bloody hell.
It makes sense when you consider Rocksteady is owned by WB which has been on the decline for years and the new powers that be are looking to do fire sales on everything not nailed down for tax credits. I doubt they were going to be allowed to make anything that wasn't a moneygrubbing live service game when the company needed profit.
What Anthem had going for it was that it had the potential for a great game, but that was thrown away by decisions made by BOTH the dev and the Publisher. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League FROM THE GET GO had no such ambitions. A looter shooter from the let's give the minimum content to the player and rinse the maximum via live service and microtransactions mechanics. It appears that this game is just another in a long line of short lived exploitative live service looter shooter destined for failure.
One great disconnect I have with the Suicide Squad as a whole is that they are for the most part not "super", aside from the Sharkman. Sure they may get some gadgets that power them up or some shit like that. But the Justice League are almost god-like in their power, aside from Batman that is. An evil Flash would basically insta-kill just about anyone... He could rip out the heart of anyone in the Suicide Squad ten times faster than they can blink. And then we have Superman, one of the few that even has a chance vs the Flash (and even that is out if the Flash can get a little green rock), and an evil Supes at that... Sure this is mostly ultimate nerd reasons for why the game makes no sense at a foundational level. Then we get all the shit about it being a live-service, and probably stuffed to the brim with greed and mediocrity.
Everyone should just go play X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Arkham Trilogy, inFAMOUS 2, [Prototype 2], Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Ultimate, & The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, etc. if they really need that superhero video game fix.
I haven't watched or played anything in the genre for a decade. I have no idea who is eating that shit up. It's ruined the entire entertainment industry.
If you saw the first gameplay that was uploaded and you have any common sense you would know that this will flop and servers will be offline within 2 years
This just feels like Anthem/Marvel's Avengers all over again, hope I'm wrong.

On the plus side, I'll probably be able to buy it in a few years with all cosmetics for less than $5 right before it's delisted.
It will be another Anthem as this is Warner Bruh 😂
I've known since the day the leaks came out about it being a live service looter shooter that the game was doomed and all of its delays were just delaying the inevitable. So sad to see this as Kevin Conroys' final performance as Batman :(
I love playing live shooter games that are just reskins of the same games in the genre. My favorite part is when I do the exact same thing I do in another game, except now it's with the super quirky Harley Quinn.
i think the towering heights of both of the Justice League and the Suicide Squad like the avengers are its biggest downfall for the game
The gameplay just looks painful to watch.. is just sad seeing where the current Rocksteady is heading..

@bobtom1495 touchy touchy. Also, economics isn't always politics.
I agree. Instead of the boss fight just being about shooting Flash, it should have been more creative about how to take him down
I think it should be that they are fighting the control over them with them trying to limit themselves as much as they can
To show their willpower that there strong enough to somewhat fight it and are willing to be killed by limiting themselves so they won't hurt any innocent people
Or they can have reverse flash be a char instead of mister boomerang of all people

@@gameuniverse5973that's sounds supremely stupid though.
By that logic Flash should beat everyone in the DC universe
By that logic Green Lantern contructs should also beat everyone in the DC universe
DC is trash so none of power scaling and abilities matter in its storytelling
The rogues have done stuff like that: it doesn't work.
We lost a single-player Superman game for a DC version of Avengers.
Worse than that, at least Avengers had characters that played uniquely different from each other. Suicide Squad has everyone playing the same character with different sizes.
They want to make a product with no thought because a Superman game would require a lot of those
It's just Superman. Nothing of value was lost
The amount of disrespect WB has given Superman over the last 20 years is disgusting
There was never a Superman game. Everyone wanted one, but it was never a thing Rocksteady was actually making.
It's pretty obvious now why they wouldn't show the UI during any of the gameplay demos. They wanted this game to look like an mmo/esports live service but they didn't want people to know that before launch. The game looks absolutely dreadful and soul sucking, it's absolutely nothing I want to be a part of.
It looks like that "if Elden ring was made by Ubisoft" meme
The usage of "mmo/esports" makes no sense here. You realize live service is a completely seperate thing than both of those?
Naw, these previews don’t do it justice. IMO I had low expectations going into playing this game. It actually surprised me how much I enjoyed it.
@@e2rqeyOh my gawd. My blood pressure is increasing just thinking of that.
Just the idea that a group of people with guns can kill the justice league is ludicrous. It makes me curious how the game leads you to kill Superman.
Something something Kryptonite-infused bullet something something
Martha
This. A much better structure would be having the missions leading up to fighting them basically be designed to rig things against them. So when you actually fight them, it makes sense because the justice league are severely weakened and actually possible
Hey king shark is actually pretty broken in the comics but the justice league here are probably going to way weaker than other depictions
Then you find out Kryptonite need 6900 hours of grinding, and then, you realized Superman is just a bullet sponge.
Grindy looter mechanics completely undermine that and makes the characters feel generic, and their "big names" feel disingenuous. .
The Superhero Shape goes in the... Live Service Looter-Shooter hole?
I think that’s why they didn’t make you the super heroes
@@MrProdigy810 Superhero, anti-hero... Similar archetype in a lot of media.

I'm sure you will be surprised to hear the director of Arkham Knight left RS in 2020, of course!

Why don’t you just mail me the bullet?”
Yeah, great line.
You mean the device we'll get to slow down Flash? Lol

I love how youtubers can come up with better fight ideas in 15 seconds than an entire game studio.
yes, and knowing that, it shows how much respect these studios give to the players.
But people still buy. Why would they change their recipe? They do what they do for money. If they have it, why change? It just works!
@@MystipaonizI don’t think people are gonna buy this thankfully.
I know I for one couldn't wait to play with the iconic power sets of these characters. Which is having a jetpack, and using a gun. Right? That's what they are all famous for?
I mean they have no really iconic stuff I can only think of stuff that might make sense to give to them but it be weird
Harley:joker gas,mr freeze gun, some sort of item from poison ivy, whip from catwoman, firefly flame thrower and jetpack, and fear gas
Captain boomerang:all the stuff that from the crew he in like mirror master mirror
King shark:gains Aquaman trident after beating him
Dead shoot:I can't think of anything
@@gameuniverse5973 im fine with deadshot being gun mcgunman, son of gunman, but the others really should have more differentiation
@@gameuniverse5973Deadshot could be the area lockdown guy. Throw down shielding, tripwire/laser traps, different ammo types for Deadshot's player thatcan perhaps be distributed to allies and earned based on interaction with special points in the environment and/or engaged enemy types.
Man, that fight against the flash looks awful, there is a great potential to make such fights amazing but it looks like they're blundering it.
Bro, just freeze the floor
Distractions. Gasses. Sub-zero Temperatures. Enclosed Spaces. Electrical Barriers.
Flash can vibrate out of most things but if you put the fight in a severely booby trapped arena and have him made vulnerable only when you trigger certain unique set ups you can justify a more balanced encounter. It'd be like the fight against Mr Freeze but with the guy zipping around at x10000 speed while half your team distracts and the other half set up the next traps to lure Flash into.
@@conspiracypanda1200 bro, just put banana peel everywhere
I mean no offense but if characters like the flash and superman were not so cartoonishly overpowered they would probably have better media especially video games. These characters feel like they were made by that one kid in the playground who changes the rules every time they lose.
I really appreciate how polite you are, even if you have criticisms! Its really nice and mature, and it gives me faith that you want to assume the best until proven otherwise. I also like how you present multiple perspectives and try to present as much of the story as you can before giving your own thoughts
You mean like actually good Game Journalism?
Yeah untill you bring up his voice acting lmao
Looking at this game for 10 seconds is enough to see the repetitive cash grab.
I was curious to how they would do Flash. Putting Flash in the closed beta or any of the justice league boss fights at early access was a bad idea to begin with, it really sets a tone for what to expect when it comes to gameplay and other boss encounters.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Studio's Good Will
I don’t even have any real desire to “kill the Justice league” lol
i dont count it as conrys last performance arkham knight is more deserving of that
Mean either
How could have guess that making a game that people didn't want would lead to poor interest?
Yeah weird huh how most people dont spend their money and time recklessly to allign with the wet dream of investors and CEO’s 😂
Love hearing your takes on a game you have never player
Why does the gameplay remind me of a Sunset Overdrive/Infamous game gone slightly off?
Square enix: Makes Avengers live service game that absolutely flops hard and is still made fun of to this day
Rocksteady: let’s do exactly the same thing as them but with dc characters from suicide squad, bc even though they’re game flopped, I’m sure ours won’t even though it’s the same live service slop bs 😄
Avengers was really good imo

Absolutely loved all 4 Batman games on the 7th and 8h gen but I was turned off from jump street on the suicidal squad.
Persona 3, Granblue Fantasy, Yakuza 8 all in the same week....its not hard to skip a Rocksteady Game this Time with so much Alternatives to play ^^
Can't wait for the obligatory " This did not meet expectations" followed by an apology or blaming the community for not buying it.
Game companies never learn.
Say goodbye to Rocksteady....WB games are about to get more staff...the rest severance
'Buying' a digital version of a WB product through Sony?
What could possibly go wrong?
What a complete disrespect this game is going to leave on Kevin Conroy's name. The last thing he was involved in.

Suicide Squad killed their launch ever since they showcased the game play and announced its live service. I was really excited for the game when the first trailer dropped. I was hyped but once the gameplay was shown and more details of what the game really is, I just did t care for it anymore.
*Marvels Avengers is watching from the corner of the room*
From the grave
This game looks horrible 💀
We asked so much for a Superman/Flash game and this is what we get..
The "anal" release format is what killing good games and creativity as a whole.
The release date was the final nail in this game's coffin for me. It drops the same day as Persona 3 Reload so I know which game I'm getting. With FF7 Rebirth dropping later in the month my dance card is full. Tough luck Cucksteady, see you in the bargain bin XD
Cucksteady 😂😂😂😂
WB is about to feel the harsh lesson called value and consumer interest. Getting whacked between Persona 3 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Ooooof
Weirdo
i snacked all batman games and that new trash justice game, on humble bundle for 10€, i would never pay for, especially when all i wanted where the arkham games.
I really hate that this is the last thing that kavin conroy worked on
What's most upsetting is that this is our last Kevin Conroy performance. The developers should be ashamed.
This is not a surprise but it also sad to see a great game creator went to hell because of a greedy publisher
I got burned once because of a live service never again, especially not this one. All those years of development just wasted for a trend chasing DOA game.
When IGN isn't willing to shine the knob, you know there is something wrong
Game has been a dumpster fire from Day 1 and I’m loving it! I’m praying for a mega flop!
Imagine what years of this development could’ve done for a single-player focused game….
It's between them losing creativity & corporate 🤷🏿
You'd think with all the negativity the gaming industry would change but ig not
For a fight like The Flash.
I’m a simple man. I hear live service, my wallet says no.
And nothing of value was lost.
