It's not false advertising since the premise was Task Force X was sent to kill the League and they did, even though no one knew that it was more complicated than that.
Oh most definitely. Other versions of Brainiac are at least competent. This is especially jarring since his last appearance in a AAA game, Injustice 2. Say what you will about that game, at least Brainiac was cool there.
@@DinoDave150 It's also kind of funny how, last year, My Adventures With Superman gave us a Brainiac whose design is so far removed from the rest, yet it's easily one of the best versions to date. Meanwhile, Kill the Justice League's version, despite having a design that is clearly Brainiac, is just... so lame. It's ridiculous that one punch from Batman can take him out.
And what makes it worse is that it's the front cover game for the month. Seriously, a better option for that would have been NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered, the second game promoted.
I like how it's not even the Suicide Squad that beats the bad guy. They - and the player - just get to watch as the real heroes save the day. Riveting.
That's actually what usually happens to them. They do all the work, then get overshadowed by someone at the last second who could have done the job alone. At least, a good third of the time!
10:00 Thing that bugs me most is... this ending clearly doesn't exist to explain or finalize the story, because it does little to do either. It's there to fulfill a legal obligation to the people who got the game. They did the literal minimum that would keep them from being successfully sued. They almost went full Poochy.
Deathstroke should have been first and not doing that is one of the dumbest decisions they made. If your game is not doing well, release the stuff everyone wants.
Man, if Deathstroke came out first, you'd bet everyone would buy the game to even try him out. Man, give him different abilities you can swap out in relation to equipment you can get for him. Like there is so much stuff that Deathstroke can use from in all his portrayals across the DC Multiverse.
No they should have just made a Deathstroke spin off game after Arkham Knight, just imagine a Phamtom pain style Deathstroke game, Without Batman or other DC heroes just Deathstroke in his own self contained story
You know actually yes. Many things i've loved got snipped early and i always felt "if you're gunna start something, finish it." They saw it through... just for the wrong reasons.
You know I probably will never play the game, but it is good that they included an offline mode. Way too often companies close a live service game and leave people with nothing to show for the money they spent.
To be fair, this was already forshadowed in the original game: In one scene, Captain Boomerang accidentally cuts off one of Flash's finger. Then, when evil Flash shows up, he suddenly has all his fingers, hinting that he is just a clone. But even if it was planned from the start, it is still a shitty twist because it makes the entire game meaningless. The whole premise was a lie.
Nope. None of that. Rocksteady CHOSE this game and pitched it to WB. Of course, WB saw dollar signs and was all in, but let’s stop treating them like some sort of victim here.
They really went all out on this final cutscene, you can really see the thousands of dollars they spent on hiring a third party animation studio to create it
Hearing that it cost WB $200m feels good until you realize it’s going to hurt the hourly workers and upcoming game budgets, and they’re not actually going to stop their scummy ways or CEO bonuses. I hate the current industry.
Warner Bros needs to stop trying to make Harley Quinn a thing. She was already an excellent character in Batman: The Animated Series. She did not need to be reinvented into…that.
Brainiac: "So, uh ... I also leave you with new clones of Wonder Woman and Robin ... to replace the ones that were lost, and now everything's okay again!"
At the very end, it's gonna zoom out to Batman on his Batputer, watching all these multiverse fights from his multiverse satellites and Nightwing will be with him and say, "heh, glad that wasn't us."
They fridged Wonder Woman for this dumb live service. Like, text book fridging. Made worse by the fact that she's the only JL member whose death sticks. Yikes.
Everything that made Rocksteady good is not working at the studio anymore. It does not matter what the next project is. This studio is ruined for ever.
Harley Quinn did so much heavy lifting for the DCU since her introduction. Weird gooners willing to inhale anything involving her loud yapping nonsense.
I totally forgot about the ending speech. Even that is ruined by this ending. They couldn't do a single thing right from start to finish. Sad to see a company i once liked become such a joke.
Take solace that Kevin Conroy's final appearance as Batman was in Crisis on Infinite Earths part three. The world's about to end but he still goes out in one final fight against the Joker... And being Batman.
As bad as the ending is, at this point they just want to undo the damage they did with the original storyline, which is something I approve off. It would be better if the story didn't went this way to begin with of course, but I take this "retcon" than the original story.
The problem I see is that big corporations tend to want their studios to wear many hats. They want them to be single player powerhouses, live service rulers, and anything else. In short, they treat them like a movie studio that makes a variety of movies but games are an entirely different beast altogether. Where all a movie needs to succeed is a good story. A game needs a good story(if applicable), great game mechanics, and good support if they're trying for either single or multiplayer live service. Make sure a game actually works before releasing because initial word of mouth will be important in getting more players. Bad first impressions can be difficult to shake off unless they work hard to fix them, which they usually don't do unless they are committed to the game.
7:16 This part made me the most upset because Rocksteady k!lled off Wonder Woman for no reason, now fully knowing the twist that the real Justice League (outside of WW) are alive. The biggest slap in the face to anyone who likes WW. She was one characterization Rocksteady did a good job with in SSKTJL, up until this fatal moment.
we can pin the blame on WB, rocksteady didn't even want to make the game like it was but WB forced them into it, if i was rocksteady after this, they should all quit and start up another studio and either try marvel with someone like daredevil/punisher or make up an original charscter and try and make it like the arkham games
@@Leostar-Regalius actually this isn't entirely WBs fault. They just wanted a cash grab. But according to a very credible Jason Shcreier report. Rocksteady management came up with the idea of making a suicide squad game and making it a co-op multiplayer game. It sort of spiraled out of control from there because the studio had never developed a multiplayer game before and the two studio heads left right after they got a nice bonus and left the developers in the trenches to figure out what the f they were even making. At a certain point the game had gotten too big, and too expensive to cancel and they were under contract (a contract they signed with WB) to release something. So we got this mess.
@@CringeMe1sterSure, but the whole ”Kill the Justice League”-angle never made sense for a multiplayer-game. Ok, so you’ve killed the JL. Now what? Oh, you kill them again but this time they have a different colour! Moronic. Especially since James Gunn had given them the solution in his SS-movie. Have the SS fight against B- or C-tier villains on a remote island or something. You can gradually introduce more villains and more SS-members as the seasons pass and it would feel natural.
And since the DCEU also ended with the death of Wonder Woman in a storyline that will not continue, that makes two DC universes where Wonder Woman is the sole casualty of the iconic trio. I pray James Gunn isn't going "I can top that."
The ending is essentially: "Let's take a child's favorite toy away, then give it back two years later as a gift and act like we did a good thing" The big payoff would've been getting back the one character who should've never died in the first place.
Sad thing is, it is not just bad writing, but disrespect to the source material and the players. You can at least forgive someone for being bad at writing, but this is more than bad and just shameful at this point.
Why I'll forever hate Rocksteady and everyone who Greenlit this atrocity: They USED and exploited Kevin Conroy's Passing to market this game and used one of his last performances as part of the games brand
The worst part of the whole clone thing to me is that even in the first part there is talks about the bodies disappearing and characters speculate about Braniac reviving them, and when Flash and Green Lantern are rescued they are frozen because the revival process messed with their nervous systems and they needed to fix them up. And now it says that they were Clones? It goes against itself with what it was forshadowing...
They seriously don't care about The Batman universe mythos. Because in the Animated Universe, they admitted that every attempt at having a replacement Batman failed. Until the creation of "The Beyond Project". Which gave us the greatest successor to the mantle, in the form of the one "Terry McGinnis".
Harley has zero business being a main character. She was a joke. That was her origin. As a punching bag for The Joker. And now we're forced to deal with her as if she's a serious character? Fuck that...
This game should have just been exactly like that Guardians of the Galaxy game. Single player, linear, tons of good writing and character interaction. Good beginning, middle, end and done.
I will never understand how deaf and blind some game producers or even some developers are. I am pretty positive a VAST majority of gamers knew Suicide Squad was dead LONG before release. I mean, is ANYONE surprised???
Can’t wait for the next installment from DC and Rocksteady: Batman Arkham Apology. I’ll accept nothing less as the title, we all collectively deserve an apology for Kill the Justice League.
This is Rise of Skywalker levels of rushed retconning, all delivered in the most unserious and lackluster presentation possible.

So the only superhero that is *actually* dead is Wonderwoman.... the same superhero that Monolith is currently making a game for. Make it make sense.
I think Robin is still dead as well, so yeah good “planning” Bruce.
The Wonder Woman game would take place in its own universe, just like the "Injustice" games take place in different universes from the "Arkham" series. We don't know for certain that Tim is dead, nor the others.
The Wonder Woman game is its own thing.
You do realize the WW game doesn't have to be in continuity to this, right?
Excuse: Wonderwoman didn't die she just simply fell asleep from Superman's hypno eye lasers.
That little send off to Kevin Conroy is immediately followed up by a Mystery Box drop btw.

The name "Kill the Justice League" is now false advertising. The game couldn't even live up to its own title. They couldn't even commit to their own shitty story.
"Oh, don't worry guys the Justice didn't actually die. They're all fine! Except Wonder Woman. She's still dead."
They ignored the Suicide Squad part of the title too. You're surprised that they ignored the latter?
I'm thinking the devs had some kind of vendetta against Wonder Woman
"Everyone lives. Except Diana, fuck her"
It was a very flawed premise...imagine a single player suicide squad that say, plays like Arkham meets the Hitman games.
It's not false advertising since the premise was Task Force X was sent to kill the League and they did, even though no one knew that it was more complicated than that.
I think we can all agree that this was one of the worst versions of Brainiac to ever exist, yes?
I don't really like new 52 Brainiac being a multiversal threat they keep pushing, but this one takes the cake
Are we including the Superfriends version with the swimming trunks and pink shirt with the popped collar?
Because yes, this is worse than that.
Oh most definitely. Other versions of Brainiac are at least competent. This is especially jarring since his last appearance in a AAA game, Injustice 2.
Say what you will about that game, at least Brainiac was cool there.

It's also kind of funny how, last year, My Adventures With Superman gave us a Brainiac whose design is so far removed from the rest, yet it's easily one of the best versions to date.
Meanwhile, Kill the Justice League's version, despite having a design that is clearly Brainiac, is just... so lame. It's ridiculous that one punch from Batman can take him out.

I like how it's not even the Suicide Squad that beats the bad guy. They - and the player - just get to watch as the real heroes save the day. Riveting.
Not even the horrible writers of this game could justify their absurdly useless rendition of the Suicide Squad achieving anything.

They should’ve replace Deadshot with Bloodsport in the first place.
No they should have just made a Deathstroke spin off game after Arkham Knight, just imagine a Phamtom pain style Deathstroke game,
Without Batman or other DC heroes just Deathstroke in his own self contained story
Instead we get the Jonkler, Mrs. Freeze, and the third chick who no one cared about.
@ Exactly, even a game just with deathstroke as the main and only character would do wonders. I don't get it
They might as well have gone full Monty Python and gone with the "IRL-ish cops crash the set, and arrest the main characters and the cameraman" ending
Props on seeing through to the end I guess. What a mess
You know actually yes.
Many things i've loved got snipped early and i always felt "if you're gunna start something, finish it."
They saw it through... just for the wrong reasons.
It was probably some business mandate they had to do, because they had already sold some seasonal content to customers or something.
You know I probably will never play the game, but it is good that they included an offline mode. Way too often companies close a live service game and leave people with nothing to show for the money they spent.
Oh yeah, I forgot this game existed.
You must have poor memory to begin with
@ even if that is the case, the game didn’t automatically get any better. That’s probably I even forgot about it, it’s forgettable
I'm shocked WB didn't announce 4 new live services in development today... alongside new NFTs.
Not really. It's no different from the recent death of the JLA in the comics, which was a fake out as well.
@@mat0018Yeah but it's a non-canon game anyway, killing the Justice Leagues "for real" would be no problem
suicide squad killed the suicide squad
Lived up to their name at least.
This is what happens when you shoehorn a dev team into a different game genre that they aren't experienced in at all and expect maximum output out of.
"I have to go now, my planet needs me "
Braniac died on his way to his home planet The End.
"Everyone lived happily ever after.." except Wonder Woman.
That tribute to Kevin also felt like Rocksteady itself saying goodbye to the Arkham games of the past.
I can't believe they wasted Kevin Conroy's 2nd to last appearance as Batman on a FUCKING EVIL CLONE.
Take solace that Kevin Conroy's final appearance as Batman was in Crisis on Infinite Earths part three.
The world's about to end but he still goes out in one final fight against the Joker... And being Batman.
They really pulled a Rise of Skywalker: killed off the character with a living actor, while bringing back a character with a dead actor.
Oh. Oh no. THAT is what Harley Quinn sounds like?? That doesn't really sound great to me, at all
As bad as the ending is, at this point they just want to undo the damage they did with the original storyline, which is something I approve off.
*Why would anyone ever assume that the Suicide Squad would ever be successful??*
The ending is essentially: "Let's take a child's favorite toy away, then give it back two years later as a gift and act like we did a good thing"
The big payoff would've been getting back the one character who should've never died in the first place.
And didn’t Wonder Woman used her lasso on flash and he told her how to stop them so that was a clone wtf
The clone wasn't lying, it'a just a brainwashed Flash copy with Barry's memories.

Sad thing is, it is not just bad writing, but disrespect to the source material and the players. You can at least forgive someone for being bad at writing, but this is more than bad and just shameful at this point.

Why I'll forever hate Rocksteady and everyone who Greenlit this atrocity:
They USED and exploited Kevin Conroy's Passing to market this game and used one of his last performances as part of the games brand
That's why they were messed up. The clones were mostly perfect.
To be fair i think there was theories that the justice league was clones so it may not have been that random
