    Love the way you set your Hoyas up. They are Not boring & I can't agree enough with you on that point. Someone on another Hoya keepers page said all Hoya look like Bay leaf. I said if they all look like Bay leaf I don't know what y'all are cooking with. 😂🤣💚🌿🪴🍀🍃🌵

    • @AroidDistrict

      Thank you! They said “Bay Leaf”? 🤣🤣🤣. Yeah, us TH-camrs often make statements on what we DON’T fully know. Hoyas are clearly one of the more diverse looking Genus lol. Appreciate you watching.

    I love Hoyas! I am a hoyahead! Where abouts do you live that the intermediate and warm loving Hoyas cope with your ambient room temps?or do you have tropical conditions inside your plant room / home? Meanwhile, if you import Hoyas from Indonesia, you’re a bonafide hoyahead too!

    • @AroidDistrict
      @AroidDistrict  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm in Los Angeles, most of the mountainous Hoyas and Carnosa types do very well here with low humidity and cold nights. The more tropical varieties, grow well in my plant room at 60%. But its really that moss/bark potting mix that makes them easy to grow. Yep I'm def a Hoyahead at this point.

    I love the circle trellis look. I don’t have any of my Hoyas on a circle, but I love the look it is clean and organized looking. May have to take one of mine off the trellis’ I have it on and try the circle look!It appears that you have your Hoyas potted in a mix with very little at oil. How do they get nutrients? Can you talk about your watering and fertilizing schedule please?

    • @AroidDistrict
      @AroidDistrict  ปีที่แล้ว

      So apparently Hoyas do not need a lot of nutrients. Orchid type mix is best, typical soil is a bit more problematic with mites, mealy bug, pest, and air flow. I spray a very diluted mix of water and hydroponic nutrients every once in a while. I spray as soon as I notice it’s dry. I have no watering schedule at all. It’s just more important for me to water anytime after it’s just about completely dry.

    Your plants are beautiful,it shows me you are very good with the care of your plants. Pafcal you introduced your audience to is a very good product. I have a parlor palm which I struggle with for three years planted it in pafcal and now is thriving tremendously. Thank you so much for introducing me to pafcal.😊

    This is amazing! Did you do anything special to the stick before you brought it inside? I want to make an indoor tree for aroids to grow on! Also, do you sell cuttings?! I love your reptilian looking hoyas! They're so freaking cool!!!

      Hey, I poured a pot of boiling water over the large branch days before I made it. I sell a lot of rooted cuttings on my Etsy shop (AroidDistrict). I’ll start back listing sometime in March.

    Thank you for sharing! Where do you get your coco chunks from? I can only find coir or chips. Many hoyas I order come planted in a mixture with chunks (big or small), and my hoyas prefer that to chips or coir, but I can’t find any! Lol

    • @AroidDistrict
      @AroidDistrict  ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re welcome. I get mine from Amazon app. It’s titled (Envelor Coco Coir Chips). Its a compressed brick of it, that expands in water. It says chips but it’s actually quite chunky.

    I only grow one variety it's hoya 'Lori Lyn'. It's a hanging variety that remains compact and doesn't send out runners. I grow it in an east facing window. I might have to get hoya incrassata 'Eclipse'. Very informative video.

    I love Hoyas....and i Love growing in LECA. I have not been successful. Can you recommend a Hoya type that might do well in LECA? I so want to be successful....love your show

    • @AroidDistrict
      @AroidDistrict  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I am actually growing a Publicalyx in Leca right now. I forgot to show it in video. My recommendation is always cut a node with leaves off and root it in water before you place in Leca. Make sure the cut has long enough stem. All of the Carnosa varieties can grow very well in Leca. Anything that roots well in water can be easily transferred to Leca.

    What’s your Hoya mix?
    I can see leca and cocoa husk chips ? But what else? Because your plants are thriving and I’ve been trying to come to a good mix for my Hoya collection
    Do you have a video explaining your mix?

    • @AroidDistrict
      @AroidDistrict  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I make a different mix every time wit Hoyas, I just make sure I DONT use potting soil. Spag Moss and Coco Husk is the main ingredient. I'll add leca and other rocks as well. I have parts of videos where I explained the mix a couple times before. I don't remember the title of the videos though.

      Thank you! Fire glass has no chemicals or harmful additives, which is why it’s used for fire pits.

      @Aroid District I have that jungle feel too lol. I'm surrounded by over 150 small anthuriums, mosteras, alocasias, ferns, spiders, new bugs to the scientific community...all in their own self-humidifying bubble. Some day I'll rot before I wake up lol
