Philodendron are really the easiest to keep alive and thriving. Also the tip about washing your leaves is so important. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my collection since doing that more often.
As far as cursing, that’s just how we talk when we’re chillin and having fun. I don’t think it has anything to do with maturity or intellect. Your channel is damn near PBS, very educational and insightful. For me, a lil 🤬🤬🤬🤬 won’t change that.

    • @AroidDistrict
      @AroidDistrict  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Exactly, that's why your channel is my favorite...because you talk and joke like my real friends. But you right, I def be on that P-BS lol. It's plants, so I can't be letting too much of my South Central out.

You are both very entertaining and hilarious to watch. Subscribed to you both and would love to see a collab between you two. Should be like... plant challenges... who grew it better and/or who set it up better so we can learn from you both and have fun at the same time. ❤

I’m subscribed to several plant TH-cam channels. What I love about you is that you keep it real. You use different things like whatever that was you put with your Billie. I have a tiny Billie and you have me thinking outside the box. I love that!
I would love to see more cool ways to display plants and on a budget. I want the Boujie look without the price tag! I want to see a bargain old cabinet transformed into a plant cabinet step by step. I’ve got an old large uniquely shaped cabinet I want to transform myself.
    Keep up the great work!

Wow thank you. I can actually see your vision with the cabinet! I watch a channel by the name of Serpadesign, he does similar to what you're describing. I have the most fun doing display hacks, so I'll try and post more of them.

I love Philodendrons, but unfortunately I didn't find out they can get pretty big until I had already purchased several. Luckily for me, I bought them tiny and they are growing slowly. The colors and textures are what I love! Two of my wishlist plants are the Persimmon Princess and Red Moon.
Thank you for the Neem oil tip on emerging leaves!!
And there is nothing wrong with a large vocabulary. 😉
I'd be happy if a lizard popped out of my pot, but anything else is a no go.

Hi Dave! It was such a treat to see your Anderson and Strawberry Shake! Mine I bought from you is doing great! Named Dave :)....I will get him a nice support......Still do not have the Squami but will if I ever find it local.....did just get a baby Serpens....love the texture too :).....Your Billie is so orange....is it because of the lighting why it is so orange? Beautiful.....your plants look happy and healthy....loving the video....thanks.....P.S. Can't have all those rabbit cages all over my crib! Making me laugh out loud! Yes free will is your God given gift.....how you use your gifts is also your choice....no judgements on cursing :)

I don't have a problem with "Profanity" because I use it too🤷🤣and depending on the context people use it, it could "Degrading, Mean, Funny" or just a way of expressing ones self. But if I comes to a point where I'm around a certain demographic of people, I definitely know how to switch it up"if you know what mean"🤷... Thanks for the Plant 🌿tips because, I just ordered some "Philodendrons" from Tropicals.

I also grew up in a Christian family, so profanities were not spoken. I actually grew up detesting profanities, I would literally cringe when hearing any swear words. I still hate profanities to this day, but if someone is using them I just accept that that's their choice. I do hate when a person uses profanities every other word when speaking, it makes me really uncomfortable. My versions of profanities are words like "oh bums" or "oh blocks" 😂 My favourite at the minute is "I'm Thripsed" for when I'm really peed off 🤣🤣 Your philodendrons really are looking fabulous, well done 👏👏 Pure goals right there. I think the 🌴 stump is going to work a treat for Billie Jean, who looks great in the new urn pot, and those orange petioles are just mwah 🧡🧡🧡 Also, l love the term "Spiritus skankti" 🙃🙂😆🤣🤣🤣

Your plants looks so healthy 💚 I think intentions matters more than the words. You can “curse” or wish ill on someone without using one curse word. Just the same you can show admiration and love while using words that society refers to as profane. So to me cursing is not offensive or a sign of lesser intelligence. It is a form of self expression. Who am I to judge or be judged 😬

Hey Dave, huge fan of your channel. Just like we can lean from your channel about plants ,, we can also learn how to be respectful when cussing. I cuss. I just try to read the room first . If it’s a group that doesn’t seem to be cussing… I hold back. If there’s a little cussing going on then .. I’m in. I just wanted to touch on a subject you talked about in a previous video. Mental health, depression. I appreciate you sharing . I have also been try to share and discuss when I’m feeling that way. Like I said … we can all learn from each other. Keep up the good work . Love your Red Anderson

Love your Billie Jean! I have a tiny one, but each new leaf is bigger still...can't wait till it fully matures. Your care tips are always much appreciated. To each its own, when it comes to profanity. I don''t use it freely, don't find it necessary. A true sign of intelligence and maturity is knowing when and how much. I agree that it becomes a problem when its the only way one can express her/himself. Shouldn't need to let loose a bunch of f-bombs to get a point across. But I understand that the world has changed, and some things that were not acceptable in the past are now sadly embraced. Thanks for keeping it real and respectful!!

Got the end I gotta say I have 70+ plants and I’ve only ever dealt w fungus knats. I rinse my plants through when watering often. Clean leaves off w water and a paper towel a few times a year but I spray them off in the sink when I can too. I spray them down hard before bringing anyone in from being outside in fall. That’s it! I’ve been keeping plants for around 20 years. Maybe I’m just lucky 🤷‍♀️
I let most plants dry out before watering pretty far down the pot too. I often tell it’s time to water when the pot gets super light.
Love you philodendrons! Love that you point out the best ones not just the most popular. I agree with you on the best ones and you have fantastic taste! I’m going to have to check out more of your recommendations. Where do you purchase your plants from?

Red Anderson, you stole me heart ❤️ just ordered in myself a Ring of Fire.. it’s fire 🔥 the Billies must have come down in price and more available, I picked mine up this summer for 8$ (small ones) and they’re everywhere here in southern Canada where I am, I’m worried that pots too big, may get root rot?

As far as the profanity, I curse a whole lot less since I worked in a law office about twenty years that was full of screaming, cursing lawyers. Nothing like a cursing boss - I could feel my blood pressure rise. Not that I don't still drop the F bomb but I drop it a lot less.

Profanity = Freedom, I like it. Totally agree.
I can go days without cussing but when I’m with my people… I love incorporating it into stories for emphasis 😂
I don’t love profanity when it’s used in anger though. I get why it is but there’s something about it that can make people seem like what they have to say has less weight.
My tissue culture Philodendron 'Bette Waterbury' 69686 grows little new plants off the main stem and it drives me crazy. I love my joepii but I’d love it more if I had more space for her to do her thing. Same thing for my billietiae. One day I want to hang them and have the light shine from one direction so they can look more full. Maybe I’ll finally do that project I started thinking about when you made your tree 🤔

I also grew up in a Christian household, where we didn’t cuss. I am now raising my kids in a “Christian” household. But, they all cuss, and so do I. But, I do believe in scripture, and the power of life and death, are in your mouth. So, I don’t believe you’ll go to hell for cussing, but, I also don’t think that it’s something that God likes. So, I think that as with everything, you need to allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. ☺️

Excellent video PW. My love for philodendron grew even more after watching your video. Yes, I refer to you as "PW" because you are a "Plant Whisperer ". So yes, I get into and understand you when you share your knowledge that you have gained based on your experiences. But when you lopped off those two beautiful stems on your Billie Jean; I set up on my couch and fell on the floor! When I regained consciousness you had situated Billie so that I must admit- she had a very nice presentation in her pot. Then when you put that palm trunk in and topped her off, it was a "chef's kiss" moment . That's what I mean you are a "PW"!

I just got a TC for $50 on eBay, the bid went off on Xmas 12/25/23. 5 years ago they were over $10,000, up to $20,000, if you could find one.
Variegated Spiritus Sancti is the next more affordable houseplant... (hopefully)

It's interesting how you used the palm tree as a stand! For my starters I'm looking to pick up some twigs from outside and use them as a pole. Glad I'm not alone. I think profanity is very distasteful, and vulgar. I think it should only be used in humor (perhaps). I feel like I sound like a Karen however the older I get, the less I like it.
