However, when I submitted my husbands PR application there was a question that is asking if we would like IRCC to consider my husband for an open work permit while we wait for a decision on the PR application and it asked us for the work permit/open work permit holder fees that we paid along with the PR application fees. My question is, do we still need to submit this IMM5710 form? If so, I tried to start a separate application for Open Work Permit and followed this video but it was asking me to pay the fees again (which I already have). Thanks in advance.
This is something a lot of people have been struggling with. Unfortunately they have not fixed this yet. yes you pay again. they will refund the previous amount eventually. you were not supposed to pay for owp when you did the spousal sponsorship. so, pay again, for owp, then wait, once they process your application they will issue the refund. if they dont, you can simply request it yourself once you get the owp. in any case, you will not lose that money

because work permit or TRV is a temporary visa. you can't select "permanently" on a temporary visa application(even though you may intend to stay permanently). Stick with the requirements of the type of application you are doing.

Will it be the same date of my spouse (primary applicant) student permit extension request? (The thing is I plan to work for much longer at this employer). Usually you’ll get your work permit for the period of time that your spouse’s visa is valid. So you can use the end date of their visa as your TO date. When you submit your application you can provide additional details in a separate word document about this to make it totally clear the officer

technically, you should have mentioned the brief description as it’s given in the instruction page. But not much you can do now. you’ll just have to wait for the response. hopefully, they take this as a minor issue and let it go.

Hi! We applied the spousal sponsorship thus november. We already got the AOR and planning to apply the work permit online. When we applied for the PR, we also paid 155 for the work permit. But in the work permit application it says that we also have to pay for the work permit holder fee 100, so the total that we have to pay is $255. Is there any way for us to just pay for $100 since we already paid the $155 along with the PR. Thank you!

It won't accept it, giving me an error message stating: "Your status expiry date in the answer you provided previously does not correspond to the Restoration in your form. Modify your answers or the value in your form." I've triple checked and I've made no such error/inconsistency. I even re-submitted a fresh form thinking it was a glitch, but I keep getting this message. It's super frustrating and I don't know what more to do. Do you have any ideas?

Question 3 where you have to check the box that corresponds to which condition you're applying for a work permit under - the only acceptable answer was "applying for a work permit for the first time" . Check only this one. Once I fixed that, it worked for us. My wife got her work permit one month ago now. Good luck to you and I hope I could help.

if you already have an open application in ircc secure account, try deleting it and starting a fresh application for OPW, then all options will show up

Correct. If the date of entry was not mentioned on the passport stamp, then it’s still six months from the date of entry.

Can you please advice how to change the conditions on the work permit, my spouse is on open work permit me being the principal applicant. she wants to change the condition with respect to her employment location as multi-location since we are not sure in which province she will get a job.
Quick question!!! I am applying permanent residence under Spouse and common-law. after receiving my AoR, I am now applying an open work permit. Does this consider as "yes" in Background question 2, "have you previously applied to enter or remain in Canada"? BTW, I hold U.S passport, so I didn't apply for any visa for entry.

Hi! We applied the spousal sponsorship thus november. We already got the AOR and planning to apply the work permit online. When we applied for the PR, we also paid 155 for the work permit. But in the work permit application it says that we also have to pay for the work permit holder fee 100, so the total that we have to pay is $255. Is there any way for us to just pay for $100 since we already paid the $155 along with the PR. Thank you!

If your husband is a PR or citizen of canada, then Once you apply for inland spousal sponsorship, after you receive AOR, you’ll be eligible.

It won't accept it, giving me an error message stating: "Your status expiry date in the answer you provided previously does not correspond to the Restoration in your form. Modify your answers or the value in your form." I've triple checked and I've made no such error/inconsistency. I even re-submitted a fresh form thinking it was a glitch, but I keep getting this message. It's super frustrating and I don't know what more to do. Do you have any ideas?

@@palakmahajan1877It was so frustrating. Nobody ever helped us but I finally figured it out. Question 3 where you have to check the box that corresponds to which condition you're applying for a work permit under - the only acceptable answer was "applying for a work permit for the first time" . Check only this one. Once I fixed that, it worked for us. My wife got her work permit one month ago now. Good luck to you and I hope I could help.

my Condition - I already have an open work permit but it has a condition that i can not work in healthcare even though I studied to be an optician that is under healthcare. I understand I need to fill out the form and select other and explain in form the condition that needs to be removed but I can not seem to get to the point where I can actually file the application.

if you already have an open application in ircc secure account, try deleting it and starting a fresh application for OPW, then all options will show up

So in Employment details how to provide details about cities and country.......example; if from 2023- 03 to 2023-04 i was in india( bengaluru and hyderabad) then again in 2023-05 to 2023- 07 in canada and again in 2023-07 to 09 in india (bengaluru) then again in 2023-09 in canada
you dont have to provide travel details in employment section. just list that entire 2-3 year period as unemployed.
