Actually it's being done by us users everytime we solve a picture captcha. Thats why it asks you to find red lights or buses( because Google maps ) . Captchas used to have us solve written words because they wanted to digitize all written word . We've been working for Google all this time

The models trained (by us) when we did Captchas are mostly used in OCR, image to text, etc. If anything, the image processing was done _before_ you solved a captcha

If you can understand basic lighting, composition and posing - you’ll have the “best” camera phone too. Camera tech is at the point where it’s up to the person taking the photo on how good of a photo they’ll have for the most part.
Idk man you're a real photographer and I think you know better than anyone else that pictures in a smartphone is 90% software and 10% hardware. I mean, if it wasn't the case, Sony probably would beat everyone instead of being like almost the worst one?

Technically Sony smartphones have more advanced features than the others somehow. For instance 4k 120fps on all lenses. So yh average consumers don't care about that and all they consider about when the say Beat Smartphone camera is how appealing it is to them, and MKBHD didn't also give the Sony the best chances as welll by using the auto mode. But yh I think Sony still deserves some praise. The image quality is what should be judged on. Not what people like

I don't really know, it's a complicated question, but I'm sure that camera on the Google pixels technically isn't the best. Photos enchanced by the neural networks are. But is it even important for the photographer? I mean, he probably edit his photos before posting. So the title of the video is kinda misleading.
It’s a great point and shoot camera but if you want to take photos for anything other than viewing on your phone screen, it’s not great.
I use Halide on my 14 Pro Max with access to the full 48mp and full control with no processing and the images are excellent but 90% of people only view their images on a phone screen, so Pixel’s are very good.

Pixels take very good pictures. I have a Samsung, I've owned pixels and my GF has an iPhone. IMO Samsung will never be on top. iPhone and pixel seems to trade blows which phone is better on different conditions. iPhones video is superior though.

I compared an iPhone 14 against my pixel Pro 6 and the iPhone photos were consistently better. Reviewers are bullshitting people for kickbacks, be it money or something else.
Ok ok ok. My issue is this. For the average joe, you see something you want a pic of, you take out your phone, open the camera and take a pic. That’s it. Who cares what the best camera is. At the end of the day a photo is a photo. I usually use my photos as memories. And I think some wonkyness makes each memory unique. Idk

I like Google pixels but you should try Sony Xperia Pro-i smartphone cameras
Sony phones take good pictures if your willing to spend time editing them, but he already has a DSLR so if he wants a perfect photo he'll use his DSLR and if he wants a quick photo he'll use the pixel.
No offense but we shouldn't call them lazy who want to shoot photos in a short time with decent quality. They are just normal day to day people who like to shoot photos to give a little pleasure in some circumstances.
But photographers are those who spend time to get their own mind in a physical shape even if they have a top notch of AI systems.
Sony Xperia 1 iv is good when it comes to professional photography. It has specific apps for that purpose installed in the phone by default. But when it came to auto-mode...Sony kinda sucked. I took that test and in portrait shots, Sony just whitewashed the entire pic.

Pixel 7 pro owner Quick review: Straight off the bat it's good value. The phone is easy use, charges quickly, looks good, battery last all day and the camera quality is best out of other manufacturers. Downside is phone storage is troublesome as it wants to save on the phone and cloud storage but wants payed subscription for extra storage through google. In hot climates using phone for high quality pictures/videos will cause it to over heat then downgrade video quality. When using G maps and background applications while traveling the phone over heats causing the battery to last less then half a day. Overall rate it a 7.8/10

This is based on the publics vote of their favourite images, it’s a totally futile test as people tend to vote for the most ‘pleasing’ image, as in most contrast and vibrancy. Apple and Samsung are factually the leaders in smartphone cameras.
I think apple was around the top 10 out of like 30 something which isn’t the best however I personally like how the 14 pro’s photos look
I did a comparison with your model and my Pixel Pro 6 and the iPhone absolutely killed the pixel. Google have chosen to overprocess their photos into garbage. Reviews are totally lying about the capabilities of the pixel. They're probably paid for and don't declare it.

Here's the list, top 3 were all pixel phones with first being the 7a.
SAMSUNG s23 was at 5th, iPhone 15 pro at 7th, Z fold 5 at 9th, iPhone 15 at 15th and s23 ultra at 16th.
It’s simple, wanna take a good photo, choose an android (preferably pixel), wanna take great video, choose an iPhone

I bought the Pixel 6 pro based on that comparison video. People, it takes crappy pictures. The only thing I can think of is the reviewers were looking at the photos on the phone screen instead of on a 15-in laptop with a good screen.
I did a shootout with the latest iPhone 14 pro max. The iPhone got it right every time whereas with the pixel Pro 6, I had to take at least seven photos before one could compare to the iPhone's.
Every single TH-cam review I saw of the Pixel phone praised its camera. None of them told you that it over sharpens and over processes them to oblivion. Obviously these are undeclared adverts not reviews . It's a known problem that many owners of the phone have complained about on the Google community website for 2 years now and Google has done nothing about its crazy over processing jpg engine.
Why? Because they want you to buy next phone that they will pay "reviewers" to rave about again.
I will not buy a Pixel again. Google are up to the same shenanigans as all the other manufacturers.

Apple is better for middle aged or old people mainly because of the simplified os, more security, supports updates longer.
Androids are usually for young adults who like to customize their phone and likes tech
IPhone users will always talk about how great the photo quality is but they never actually utilize that quality because they put gross filters and upload to Instagram and all this other stuff which massively degrades the quality of the photos so it doesn't really matter

This was true like 5 years ago too. The only problem I had with the Pixel at the time was when my friend owned one, I could see just how god awful the display was. I guess the cameras took pictures better than what it could show because the pictures looked great on other phones.

That's what Smartphone photography means bro. It's depended on the image processing of the respective brands and the phones than anything else. Think about Oppo's find X2 pro and Samsung's S20 Ultra. The oppo was better than Samsung in all the hardware but Samsung made up with their software.
Google's been always the best. Google beat apple many years ago with their Google pixel 2. Their 12 mp sensor was the best for many years until the 6s

One thing to note is that What people think is the best camera is entirely subjective. Pixel isn’t the most high quality camera ever made. Neither is the IPhone. It’s hard to measure these things objectively. The Blind Photo test just shows that a MAJORITY decided they liked the pixel. It’s like how you shouldn’t let the rotten tomatoes score of a movie sway your opinion of it.

I mean, it was always obvious. Iphones have nice color balance from the still frame but start to zoom in & the quality disappears rather quickly. Also, night photos, just isn't there either
Watching this on a pixel 4. I think having the biggest data base on what people prefer probably helps google in this situation and I am an absolute pixel fan boy. I've used iphones and I use an ipad but pixels are just more fun to use and the pictures are definitely better.
