    You should have a silver TH-cam play button. The content is great and entertaining! Your deadpan is priceless.

      Hey! Thanks Daisy! I really appreciate that! Not so sure about the play button... Mopeds are a pretty niche subject, so doubt I'll ever reach 100,000 people, but I can dream though...🤓

    Answering your question.....no it’s not boring at all. I’m pretending I have a roomy shop and a raised table to fully recondition my rougher moped. I wish you had more videos. My wife says I have more important things to do like saw, gather and split firewood to help,with heating costs. Plus, I kinda promised her I’d wait until after my daughter is finished with school if I got to buy my Honda Metropolitan Scooter. Love . It! My H-D Ultra Classic hasn’t moved since I bought it back in August. I drove 4 hours all the way to Virginia to buy it off of an elderly gent. 83 orig miles! It now has 400+. I think I’ll let my daughter have it for a college ride to keep her from going dorm crazy. I’ll miss it and her especially.

      If you got it in Virginia, your lucky I didn’t see it first!😜. I’m always browsing the Craigslist around here.

    The video is not that long. Much better having all the details. It will inspire me to restore my old 1975 Vespino! Thanks!

      Thanks Pablo- I just got finished going through the google images of a 1975 Vespino. Awesome bike! I love those handlebars. I’d love to see yours. If you have some pics (and are so inclined) could you please send them to me davidfixeshisshit@gmail.com?

      Having some issues with the road test. That’s why this episode is taking awhile. I had to wait for some treats to come in, but I’ve got them now and hopefully I’m going to get her dialed in this week.

    Doing the videos slow is good it helps me see how to reassemble while watching

      @DavidFixesHisShit  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me too! That’s actually why I started loading these on TH-cam. I was filming stuff anyway so I could remember how to put everything back together, so I figured why not do a little extra work and put it out there for everybody. I appreciate you watching!

      Hey man. Hello from Norfolk VA. What I know about Kingston: Elon Musk went to school there. That’s pretty sweet. I have a friend from London Ontario. He’s a super cool dood. Also one of my favorite TH-camrs is from Ontario - Aaron Cake. Also just found out that Rebel Moby, the freakin guru of Motobecane, lives out that way. So I guess you Ontarians are pretty cool people. Glad to meet you.

    Looks fantastic. A few things:
    - Make sure you oil/grease that tiny piece of felt that on the stator plate! It lubricates the points follower so it doesnt grind away instantly.
    -when you get around to installing the carburetor, get an O-ring that fits inside the body of the bing carb where it slides onto the intake, they are notorious for having air leaks there. It should seal up nice with the O-ring.
    -there should be a small plastic piece that guards the frame where the chain ride along. Also, chain looks a bit tight, loosen it a bit. When you sit on the bike, the chain has some slack taken out and tightens, because the swingarm pivots on a fulcrum that is behind the front sprocket.

    • @DavidFixesHisShit
      @DavidFixesHisShit  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. The points come with a little vial of grease specifically for that purpose. It even says where to put it right on the thing. Even my dumb ass figured that one out :-)
      This is about the 10th Puch I’ve messed with. Got the o ring every single time.
      I’ve got the chain with about 3/4inch deflection. When I get my wife on it, I’ll check again.
      Thanks again for watching! Just checked out your Snark! One of my favorite moped names! Sweet bike man!

    I've only sealed a couple of tanks. I am not a fan of sealing tanks, and won't do it unless there is a pinhole leak. I used Caswells. I always take the reflectors off and toss them in a box. No government mandated BS on my bikes. I've done so many of these I don't need a manual. For 30 ft. lbs. I just go by feel. I am a retired mechanic. I have actually broken things using a torque wrench and what were supposed to be the correct specs. I absolutely despise those rectangular electrical connector blocks that Puch used. The little screws can vibrate lose, they can also loosen over time because the wire ends compress. And they can also get corroded. With Puch engines, I remove and reinstall them with the centerstand down and a support under the head/cylinder. You can just remove the bolts and lift the otherwise completely assembled bike off the engine, reverse the procedure to put it back. I used to wear a lot of Carhartt stuff, then I found out they were leftist scumbags. I will never buy any more of their stuff. For those who wind up dragging the back fender on the rear wheel because you weight too much for those spindly little shocks, you can get super heavy duty rear shocks with the springs on the outside that hold up my 240 pounds just fine. They're NOT cheap. I clean non O ring chains by putting them in a one gallon oil jug with gasoline in it, letting them soak for a few days, shaking them every day. They come out spotless. If they are rusted I just replace them. I have had issues with the Puch chain tensioner on the pedal chain side before. I may get the seat on my Sears Free Spirit Deluxe redone in brown. The PO had the frame professionally done in dark green metalflake, and a brown seat would go great with that color. Unfortunately that $32 seat won't fit mine. Yes you lose the luggage rack. But I found some nice bicycle panniers that will still fit on the Puch luggage rack with that seat on it as long as there is 1/2" between the seat and rack.

    Hi,
    Great video, I hava a tomos targa a35 and am replacing the throttle cable. Could you do a video on how to do this on the handle bar end. Not sure how to take the throttle assembly apart, don't want to break anything.
    Thanks for your Help
    Alex:)
