@@christschool We all have different tastes. For me, the LC is a clown car. It’s tacky, lacks the refinement the Lotus has, and comes only with an automatic that has something like 27 gears. It’s faster, but 0-100 doesn’t even begin to define what a car really is. I’ll never own one nor the other so it comes down to my original comment : why is everyone mentioning that there are faster cars. Even if it’s not the fastest, the Lotus is a superb and desirable car that has that unique sparkle which makes heads turn, in a good way.

That's because it is supercharged instead of turbocharged. It's very rare to see a modern engine that is supercharged. As long as you design a good exhaust system with a supercharger, there's no reason that it shouldn't sound great. Turbochargers castrate good exhaust sounds.

The lever is not colder than the rest of the cabin. It's just that heat conductivity of aluminum alloy is high, and when you touch it, it sucks the heat out of your hand and give you this cold feeling. Exactly like shower gel on a warm body. The shower gel is not colder than the bathroom.
This same exact engine in the Evora and Exige sounds so much better. Lotus was forced to quiet the exhaust due to noise restrictions. The Evora 400 sounds particularly great. It's one of the best sounding v6 engines, and it's because it doesn't use turbocharging! It's refreshing seeing a supercharged engine these days. I do question how reliable this particular engine is with boost. This is not one of toyota's best engines by a long shot. The open-deck aluminum block isn't very strong, and the water pump is a known problem.

this car is around 1500 kg's where the exige for example tips the scales just below 1000kg's. That has a lot of impact, also the top speed of this car is almost 60 kph higher. So maybe gearing has also something to do with it. Personally i find the older cars better, less power but also less weight, that should also improve the handling. Also compared to other 400hp cars this lotus seems to be a bit slow

Sounds lovely but again 12 sec 100-200, does not seem to make 400 bhp at all. For a sub 1500 kg car it should be much faster with that power. 2021 Boxster GTS 4.0 manual 100-200 9.1 secs on Automann TV.
Beware that when you have track mode on the traction control is switched off. When you tried to do a launch in the end you were in track mode I believe that's why your skidding all over the place.
TYVM for doing this. Lotus forbids test drives to take a 0-100 time for obvious reasons. I drove the car and when I wrote my estimate of 6" 0-100 the fanboys attacked me. The car is ridiculously slow for the looks/money. You are the first person who proved it how bad it is.

400 hp claimed doesn't seem to match real life. Too expensive for this kind of performance, unless there is tuning or aftermarket coming. Looks way too nice to be this slow.
A mio parere questo video non decanta le qualità di questa Lotus anzi, mette in evidenza prestazioni non così esaltanti. Sicuramente vedere un filmato è ben diverso dal stare seduti al volante mentre si dà la via ai 400 cv della Emira. Purtroppo nella visione sullo schermo del telefonino osservare che in terza marcia a 150 km/h siamo già in fuori giri non è un granché. E anche l'allungo in quinta fino o a 260 km/h mi sembra un pò lento. Sono sicuro che chi ha o ha avuto una Elise può confermare che con soli 220 cv si godono prestazioni pressoché identiche ma con costi di acquisto, esercizio e manutenzione decisamente inferiori. Spero che quando deciderò di comprarla, nella prova reale sia tutt'altra cosa. Grazie, Fabio.
Hm this looks around Golf R performance (maybe even trailing it at high speeds, depending on how accurate the speedo is), with a bit less weight and almost a 100hp more? I bet its an absolutely amazing car to drive and not comparable to a boring Golf in this regard, but the engine doesnt seem to work how its intended.
And 100 times less reliable. Mercedes engines are trash and dual clutch anything is 0 to blown up in .3 seconds. I'll take the camry v6 and the H gate every single day of the week

The Lexus LC500 is a full 1.5 seconds faster from 0-100kmph and better in all aspects for nearly the same price. The Lexus also sounds much nicer.

Winter is not a problem, you can always use gloves, if it gets so cold. Summer heat is worse

@@alexanderdanielsson6049 a roots supercharged engine has very similar power curve to an NA engine just shifted up the axis actually.
For 400 h that is hella slow... but am sure it'd be a blast in the twisties, and toyota reliability.

The engine is very low on torque 405 bhp M2 is 405 lflbs this is about 310, it’s weak engine for sure.

Toyota engine means you can keep the car until 999999km on your odometer.
