But was thinking about getting the R7?? Test drove the MT-07 today. And it felt great, they had no R7 to test drive. So I am worried about a 30min to an hour commute. Will my back and neck be burning 😆??.
I’ve got a 2017 Indian Dark Horse and am looking at getting something for the back roads and occasional track day. This has been on my radar for awhile now and is the most reasonably priced for what I want. I had other contenders like the ZX-6R and Z900SE from Kawasaki but they cost more and have a higher RPM requirement to get the full utility out of them. Haven’t had a chance to get on an R7 yet, hopefully I can change that soon. Of course any sport bike is going to be way faster than my heavy 111 cubic inch cruiser.
I really would like to know how you feel about the R7 compared to the RS 660. I know Yamaha said it's not meant to be a competitor but I really feel they are going for the same group of people.

i actually originally was going to buy an R1 but the insurance was just going to be way too much, then when the R7 got revealed it just seemed like the perfect bike for me.

I said its not a good bike for beginners if you're not careful, if you have 0 experience and get this bike and take it easy then it will be a great first bike, but in your case since you have experience this would be perfect

it should do them no problem, Yoshimura just made an exhaust for it and they said with the new ecu Yamaha put in it the R7 actually makes more power than the MT07, my guess is Yamaha is just waiting to release power numbers until we get closer to the official release date
Looking into buying a R7 my local dealer said it should be around $11,500 with taxes and fees and what ever my interest rate will be… is that a fair deal or should I hold off a few more weeks?
Sorry, but it doesn't. Totally different bike, and the R6 is far from, and will never be a collector bike. Since just 2016, there's been over 20,000 R6's sold.

no cruise control unfortunately, that button is for scrolling through the different things you can see on the dash, odometer, trip odometers, temperature, etc.
It’s not about not disliking the R7 because it’s underpowered, it’s about how they got rid of the 600 inline 4. Now Yamaha has no bike that can compete in Moto2... This is just a road bike now. I Hate Crossplanes too, they can’t run E85.
understandable, my issue is people hate the R7 because yamaha got rid of the R6. The R7 is not a replacement to the R6, it was never meant to be. The R6 got discontinued because 85% of r6 sales were in the used market, people weren't buying them. now people are whining because they're gone and hating on an actual really good bike because they think a bigger number means its a replacement bike.

Secondly, I’ve ridden the MT07 and the engine is pretty trash. Definitely needs the ECU flashed. I’d honestly want the all new kawasaki ZX25r in-line 4 cyl (not available in North America) over the R7, or an Aprillia RS660 when the fix the motors issues. I’ve driven a RS660, the R7 can’t touch it. I’ve owned a 05 and 06 R6, I would choose either of those 15 year old bikes over this R7.

i would say due to the aerodynamics and the ecu being tuned differently it may be slightly faster but not by much. Top speed wise though Yamaha claims 10-15 mph over the mt/fz07

R6 was a best choice in term of first investment (15 kUSD in Russia), cost of maintenance and annual taxes fee. Suzuki is not existing on Russian market at all.

In best case you loose an opportunity make an economy of 5,4 kUSD ( difference between R6 and R1). In worst case you overpay 1,3 kUSD for the same candy in shining wrapping, which is R7 compare to MT-07. I’m strongly confident that sport bike must to have 4-in-line engine and be able to reach 12000 rpm at least. Two cylinders is good engine for cruisers or adventure bikes. Very easy transfer, just remember to ride within your limits! My r6 in B mode feels like a 2 cyl all the way up to like 10,000 rpm.

i have had the R7 over 130, i think on the street it will do anywhere from 140-150

Yamaha had me hook, line and sinker… light, nimble twin with usable power on the street and amazing suspension… then put the rider in a track position. lol so close.

Definitely agree! Im more so thinking the used market though, I would never recommend buying a brand new bike if you have no riding experience, I did, but i think i just got lucky i never dropped it or anything.

No, my grandfather passed away a couple weeks ago and ive been pretty sick these past few days. Haven't even been on either of my bikes since i posted my last video, im going to try to record this week
