  • Cooksongold customer Janet Royle reviews the Knew Concepts Sawing Bench Peg and Bench Clamp (997 3308 and 997 3309).
The Knew Concepts Sawing Bench Peg is an amazing re-invention of the bench peg, with a sleek design and several additional features which have been purpose-built to make a jeweller's work easier. Made from solid stainless steel as opposed to the traditional wood, the body of the bench pin is just 4.75mm thick. Buy yours here: bit.ly/2kMAxg5

What is "a nice piece of kit"? Janet Royle, a very thoughtful and generous review, she's "spot on", thank you from west over the pond.

Thanks for this... it's very helpful to me deciding if I want a wooden bench pin, or this more precision version!

If you cut into this bench pin you will have contamination to your silver/gold scrap and filings. Just a small thought

We went with stainless steel rather than aluminum specifically so that any contamination at least wouldn't be actively harmful. Stainless is a pain, but it won't actively embrittle subsequent melts as aluminum would. Of the available materials that are strong enough to do this job, it's the best choice there was. We did think about it.
